Exploring Bali WoW, Modern Comfort, Large Pool, Beach and U. left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.
The virtual preview of Bali WoW, Modern Comfort, Large Pool, Beach and U. was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Selemadeg plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.
I found the tour for Bali WoW, Modern Comfort, Large Pool, Beach and U. painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.
The place looked great from the photos, but when you enter, you can tell that a lot of it has been worn down over time. It is clean but not spotless. If you like being part of nature, peace and quiet, then this place might appeal to you. The best is the pool. It is clean and nice to swim in. The rice fields are beautiful in the morning and in the evening as the sun sets. You can hear the waves throughout the whole day. The farmers around do not disturb you. The downstairs has no AC only 2 working fans. If you open the doors to let in the wind, there will be a lot of mosquitoes and bugs, especially at night when lights are on. On the 2nd night, there was a big rat in the kitchen, and a lizard passed our food (all sealed) on the kitchen table. We slept in the AC room upstairs with door closed. On the 3rd night, another (different) rat came up at 3am, and jumped on our bed. My partner did not sleep after that. I don’t know how this can happen. It was definitely a bad experience.
Willa jest przestronna i dobrze zaprojektowana oraz wyposażona. Ma piękny widok na pola ryżowe i ocean. Do plaży jest 5 minut drogi, jednak jest to zupełne odludzie. Do najbliższego sklepu jest ok. 7-8 minut skuterem a do restauracji ok. 12 minut skuterem. Niestety czystość pozostawia wiele do życzenia. Brudny blat w kuchni, stół w jadalni oraz poduchy na leżaki i kanapy oraz na zewnątrz (które na naszą wyraźną prośbę zostały wyprane). Niestety po wypraniu pozostało na nich wiele plam. Drewniany dom oraz dach wymagają renowacji (w czasie deszczu dach przecieka w wielu miejscach) a drewno jest zniszczone. Ogólnie położenie i widoki rekompensują niedogodności. Polecam osobom chcącym odpocząć blisko natury.
First of all you usually talk about the house,. However I am going to talk about Eric my driver/tour guide The road collapsed due to a rain storm when we arrived on 7/6 & it was my Birthday vacay & the initial driver stated he would not make it. However Eric's wife told me he was a driver & I shouldn't be stuck on my birthday. Eric became my driver on my birthday 7/8/25 until I left on 7/12/25 .Eric took me everywhere I saw so much of Bali from water falls, to atvs &, caves & rice fields,.temples, a original Bali cuisines & it's spirituality, etc.. until I thought he was a tour guide. Eric was with us on some days fromn10:00 am until 1:00 am the next day & that stood out to me. Eric is on the whatsupapp so if you ever visit Bali l, he is a delight to show you around a place he has stayed all his life.
La villa est joli et originale. Cependant le bois mériterait un petit coup de neuf surtout quand il pleut et que l’eau peut rentrer dans la maison … Le cadre est très beau, un grand père habite dans une toute petite cabane juste à 1 mètre de la maison. La piscine est super, bien entretenue et très grande. Merci pour ce séjour.

What a place! So unique, breathtaking outlook, wonderful hosts, caring and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a perfect place to stay for me and my extended family for a week.

This is a special villa with great character, lots of space, spectacular views and wild soundscape. It’s a remote location so sometimes the power goes out and internet is on and off. Lunches and dinner were delicious. 5 girls had a very peaceful time with enough room for privacy and also great communal spaces to come together.
Rural Bali was a really fun time. Far away from any hustle and bustle of the larger cities. The view, the pool, and the beach were excellent. Just being there was a nice getaway. Nearby at Balian beach were a number of warungs and restaurants, but even better was the local night market for dinner time. The beach is very empty and great for walking. The ocean is definitely active and probably a bit much unless you're a strong swimmer. The house itself is huge, and may be a bit eclectic for some. The living space is nice and open, and the kitchen is well setup if you want to cook yourselves. The bedrooms could use a little updating, and maybe some soundproofing. There are insects, but that is expected of rural bali. And a lot of the geckos will take care of stuff. The staff was very friendly, as well as our local Kakek neighbor. Birds (and at night bats) are plentiful as they fly around eating bugs and often drink from the pool.

Me and my family stayed in Balian Retreat for 1 night and it was a beautiful location with amazing views. The reason we only stayed for 1 night, was due to a couple of unfortunate issues. We had trouble with the aircondition in one of the bedrooms we have rented, which they managed to fix the next day since it was broken. Also there was a lot of noise from the birds and other species during the night, which I wasn't prepared for. However, the staff was very service minded and kind, and offered to fix our issues right away. We chose to leave after 1 night because of the noise outside, which wasn't the hosts' fault at all. They were very understanding and let us check out 1 day early. We recommend this house if you want to be in a secluded area with no immediate grocery stores or restaurants nearby, and enjoy living in the middle of a rice field and farming right outside your doorstep.
This place is so nice! We went for our honeymoon to have some isolation but it’s perfect for a big group of people! Every room is beautiful! Wayne was very nice, she made us breakfast and had fresh cold coconuts for us! The access to the beach made it feel like you were all alone. So why 4 stars instead of 5 you ask… This place is marketed like a getaway but the rice field is filled with workers. There is a neighbor that is less than 2 feet from the house that can see straight inside and be blinded by the lights with the floor to ceiling windows. So there is no privacy at all and we wish that was in the description. You pay for everything here so keep that in mind. It’s definitely not bad at all, just through us off compared to other air bnbs we stayed at in Bali. Lastly, make sure you use their drivers. It sounds expensive but grab does not work out there.
Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit mit Wayan in der Villa. Der Ausblick ist wirklich einmalig. Wie in der Anzeige beschrieben ist das Jaus wirklich sehr offen, also alles wie beschrieben.
Nous avons passé un formidable séjour dans la maison, elle est tres spacieuse et offre une vue splendide sur la nature avec à centaines de mètres l' océan et une plage de sable noir. La maison propose 4 chambres dont deux sont ouvertes sur la nature avec des storzs mais sans fenêtre. Il faut etre sensible au son de l'océan et a celui des animaux, c est une véritable immersion dans la.nature. c est un tres bel endroit que je recommande. La conciergerie a été top aussi en proposant des activités et services a proximité ou a domicile.

Wir waren fast 2 Wochen da und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig und sehr nah am Strand. Der Gastgeber war schnell erreichbar und es war alles unkompliziert. Das Haus ist toll und sehr groß. Danke für die schöne Zeit.

Notre séjour chez Oliver and Johanna s'est très très bien passé. La maison était absolument conforme à la description. La vue est absolument époustouflante sur les rizières et tout est fait dans la maison pour en profiter toute la journée. La maison est très belle et décorée avec bcp de goût. Très bons dîners de Wayan! Tout est fait pour complètement déconnecter et se ressourcer au calme. 2 chambres sont climatisées et peuvent être fermées la nuit ce qui est agréable car les 2 autres chambres, absolument spectaculaires, sont tournées vers les rizières et sont complètement ouvertes ce qui peut parfois gêner pour dormir (bruit des grillons, crapauds etc..). La plage à côté est très belle, très sauvage, quasi désertique. Balian Beach est à 3km - pas de pb en scooter (1 est mis à disposition) mais un peu long à pied. Nous sommes restés surtout à la villa. En 2 mots, villa parfaite pour déconnecter, et profiter de la nature et d'un Bali authentique.
A beautiful, spacious villa, perfectly integrated into the owner's rice fields. Every day we had the opportunity to observe farmers at work – it was a unique experience. A three-minute walk from the villa is a beautiful, deserted beach, perfect for strolling. The waves are large, so we don't recommend entering the water. A huge asset of the house is the fantastic staff and the delicious Indonesian breakfasts served daily.
Great and unique location. The view on the Rice terraces, the sounds of the jungle and the ocean… Just magic! The house itself has all you need for a few days away from everything. Wayan is a great chef who can prepare very tasty authentic meals.

Not a cliché: A Piece of Paradise Oli and Jo’s house is truly a great escape. Nestled in the rice paddies only minutes from a beautiful, often deserted, beach the house blends the best of Balinese living with modern luxuries. If you are looking for a place to decompress and unwind: this is it. In addition with the proactive and generous hosts, Balian Retreat’s Nyonya, Bu Wayan, is a truly exceptional chef and will happily advise on and organise any assistance desired. A rare find, well worth the journey.

We had an absolutely incredible stay! The villa was stunning, even more beautiful than the photos, with breathtaking views and equipped with everything you need. Oliver, the host, was extremely responsive, helpful, and understanding throughout the entire booking and stay. They made us feel so comfortable and welcome. This was truly one of the best stays we've ever had in Bali. We can't recommend it enough!

Der tolle Pool, die spektakuläre Aussicht über Reisfelder bis zum Meer und die Übernachtung im offenen Schlafzimmer haben diesen Urlaub ganz besonders gemacht. Der romantische Weg durch die Reisfelder führt zu einem unglaublich schönen und sauberen Strand, an dem man endlos lange, einsame Spaziergänge machen kann. Die Villa ist außergewöhnlich designed und mal etwas völlig anderes, als die üblichen Bali-Villen. Wayan und Kadek haben uns liebevoll umsorgt, aber auch die nötige Privatsphäre gelassen. Vielen Dank an das ganze Team für diese schöne Zeit!
Wir waren mit Freunden über Silvester im Haus von Oli&Jo und es war unglaublich schön. Das Haus ist umgeben von Reisfeldern und in der Ferne sieht man Palmen und das Meer und hört die Wellen rauschen. Den Strand erreicht man über einen kurzen Spaziergang durch die Reisfelder und wir hatten ihn komplett für uns allein. Alle Zimmer und Bäder sind super schön eingerichtet, der Pool ist perfekt. Insbesondere die beiden offenen Schlafzimmer mit Blick auf die Reisfelder sind wahnsinnig toll. Wir haben es geliebt und wären gerne länger geblieben!
If you are reading this to consider staying here , then think no further . This is the most magically amazing villa , looked after by the kindest people . We spent an incredible 2 weeks here and experienced the real Bali . Firstly the villa is so architecturally beautiful, so peaceful , with 2 of the bedrooms giving an amazing sleeping experience, sleeping with the noise of the sea , the crickets , the birds , definitely stay in the open bedrooms , we slept in them and wow , just wow . The hot water was constant , the bath looking out onto the fields was fantastic every night , after spending the day exploring , the rain showers are so refreshing in the bathrooms , with everything being extremely clean . The 16 meter pool is an infinitely pool , I swam a mile most mornings, then lay by it just looking at the view . You have the beach to yourself , it’s not a swimming beach as the waves are spectacular, but we took wine down there most night and sat . Wayan is a incredible chef
My wife and I stayed here a few nights on our honeymoon and had the time of our lives. We loved the design and were astounded by the architecture of the place. The hospitality was also top-notch. Wayan is a wonderful chef and educated us on the regional dishes she prepared. The location is very quiet and peaceful. The surrounding scenery of the rice fields and the sounds of the crashing waves are a bonus. Would definitely recommend staying here.
We had a great stay at the villa! The villa is beautifully designed with absolutely stunning view of the rice field and the sea. Oli and Jo were great hosts. They were responsive and understanding and always made sure that we were comfortable during our stay and facilitating our requests. We are very happy with the villa, the staffs, the hosts and the view. We will definitely come back again next year! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a peaceful stay with quality time to spend with family.

Le logement est bien pour Bali malgré le climat qui abime beaucoup le mobilier extérieur... Le logement est bien situé en nombre de kilomètres hélas il n'y a qu'une seule route et nous avons mis pratiquement 2h pour faire 30 km chaque jour... la plage ne se prête pas à la baignade mais au surf... nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement par l'ensemble du personnel de la maison !!! merci pour ce séjour !!! This place was an absolute dream for a secluded retreat to rest and recharge! The house is an absolute gem—beautifully maintained with stunning views of rice fields, and just a short walk to a secluded beach that felt like a private oasis. The pool was a slice of heaven, perfect for relaxing. It was slightly less private than I expected, but honestly, the views and overall experience were unbeatable. Wayan’s hospitality was top-notch, and Oli and Jo were exceptional with communication from start to finish. Highly recommend this place—11/10 experience!
One needs to be a poet to describe the peaceful energy that this place holds. Not only is it a beautifully built and maintained “home” but also has an energy and serenity about it that simply recharges the soul. With beautiful Bali rice fields literally at your feet and a pristine and almost secluded beach only a few minutes walk through rice fields with calming sounds of the ocean and nature all around it was just BLISSFUL. During our stay the adjoining rice field was in its replanting stage which to some may not give a lush green appearance but that is replaced with the beauty of being greeted by the local farmers with a big smile and tempted communication every morning. Priceless to see the true heart and soul of Bali life in this way. Wayan&Kadek, our housekeeps were also truly and genuinely welcoming & helpful and made us feel as if we a part of the family and have know each-other for years. Oli & Jo too were available at all times and were super duper fantastic hosts. 8STARS

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this amazing villa, and it exceeded all my expectations. The villa had everything we needed and more, from a fully stocked kitchen to a perfect location. It was an ideal home away from home. A special mention to Oli, who was incredibly helpful and always available to communicate with. He truly went above and beyond, making our stay even more enjoyable. This is by far the best villa I’ve stayed in, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay.
It’s so beautiful and peaceful here, we never wanted to leave!! You fall asleep listening to the sound of the ocean and can watch the stars with the open concept bedrooms. The pool was so big and fun to swim in every day — tons of natural sunlight. The house staff Wayan were so kind and got us fresh coconuts and cooked us delicious local Indonesian. You can order groceries straight to the house and the check in instructions are so helpful to get accustomed to the area. The beach is steps away and feels nearly private. You can see waves crash from the house. Oliver the host was super responsive and helpful with recommendations. We adored this place and would love to stay again one day!! Thank you for everything!!
We return to this beautiful house every year for a family getaway. It’s an extraordinary experience, relaxing looking out over the pool, rice terraces, peaceful palm groves, and ocean view. In the moonlight the views from the upper balconies are memorable. The walk to the ocean is so romantic and the beach itself is a great place to play and adventure. At sunset it’s especially magical. The house layout is great for hanging out with family, the wood frame structure is charming, and even the bedrooms without AC are comfortable and breezy. There is even a big bathtub to get clean after a day in the sand, and a cinema room. Ibu Wayan is warm and friendly and takes good care of us. Oliver is always just a WA away.

It was awesome to staying at the Balkan Retreat, the surrounding is beautiful, rice fields, ocean waves, sounds of the nature. It was spectacular. Oli&Jo were amazing too. They’ve helped with every step. Organizing a private card with a driver, giving us some recommendation for the local places, and even made suggestions on other areas in Bali to must visit. what a great place this is! thoughtful architecture, wonderful fusion of traditional and modern elements, well equipped, and in beautiful surroundings with rice fields and a great beach within a 3min walk. it is a bit remote, though, so one has to think about transportation needs (Grab and Gojek don’t work in that part of Bali!); luckily, landlord recommended a driver, and helped with scooter rental; would go back anytime 👍🏻😎

This is a beautiful house - incredible setting and very private. Oli the host is very helpful and responsive. This is a beautiful part of Bali. The property is exactly as described in the listing and we felt very at home and relaxed. The rice fields are a beautiful setting and the beach is a short walk down the hill from the house. We had a great 4 night stay and enjoyed exploring the local area.
We stayed for one week to hold our team event. Everything was great - especially the breakfast made by Wayan. The host was always ready to help. One day, the internet connection struggeled and the host immediately called the provider company. All very satisfying and we will be back.

I have stayed in many Airbnb properties and I can say without hesitation Oli&Jo's property is my favorite by far. My husband I were looking for secluded, with natural beauty in a location where we could truly relax. Oli&Jo's was all of that and more. The house is amazing; the staff is so incredibly attentive; the food Wayan cooked for us was delicious and we had the most restful, relaxing and rejuvenating vacation. The pictures depict exactly what the property is. If you don't like bugs or salamanders in the house, don't stay in a house that has open rooms. If you don't want to see the local population farming their rice terraces, don't stay here. If you want the most amazing experience of your life, this is your place!
A 5 star stay in every way! What an incredible location, rice terraces and a working farm with beach just steps away. Wayan was a loving host who cooked wonderful dinners. It's WELL worth the drive to avoid Bali crowds... we had the entire beach to ourselves. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Fantastic stay at Oli’s place. Super relaxing being amongst the rice fields and a short stroll down to the deserted beach, Oli seamlessly arranged for an airport transfer to the villa, scooter hire and in villa massages. Will be back for sure

Our second visit to Balian Retreat was even better than the first. Spectacular views and great house made it perfect for our extended family to hang out together, be in nature, cook together, and relax around the pool deck and living room. Though the magic is the view and setting with rice fields cascading toward pastoral palm groves and ocean waves visible among the tree, the rustic architecture fitted out with all the key comforts was part of the charm. We brought groceries and ordered more in and were happy cooking together. The two front bedrooms with best views are not AC but we were comfortable with the fans. Two upstairs bedrooms with AC had some road noise. The downstairs AC bedroom was great for the kids (stairs to the upstairs are steep, avoid those with toddlers.) From the writing desk with a view to the lounge and den complete with pool table there was lots of space to satisfy everyone for several days without leaving the house & seafront.
Oli & Jo were wonderful, very friendly, helpful, very responsive, always watching over what we needed. Wuyan prepares the most authentic & delicious Indonesian food. A beautiful Villa, súper clean, surrounded by nature, with beautiful views to the front the beach and rice fields, to the back mountains. Very private and secluded, you will feel at home and you will have a great resting time. I highly recommended this beautiful Villa with beautiful hostess and beautiful staff.

it was a wonderful weekend at the villa - beautiful home with excellent kitchen. We cooked together and there was everything we could possibly need in the kitchen. The house is gorgeous and the view stunning, a few steps and you are on a deserted beach. Just incredible. Thank you so much
The house is great for relaxing and being away from it all and the surroundings are breathtaking. Wayan is a wonderful cook and the meals were delicious. The rooms without windows might not be for everyone but we enjoyed the natural sounds. We never once turned on the AC and even though we saw mosquitos we hardly ever got bit. Thanks to Oli&Jo for being very responsive, we had a wonderful time.
We had the most wonderful stay at Balian Retreat. Thank you Oli & Jo. The house is as described (and enormous) with sweeping views to surrounding rice fields and beach. We loved the easy stroll down to the beach daily, waving to Kacek the farmer next door, and interacting with Wayan & Kadek who clean and manage the house. Wayan also cooked dinner for us regularly which I highly recommend. Her food was outstanding. Balian Retreat is a little slide of heaven on Bali’s west coast. Come here if you truly want to get away from it all and experience the real Bali. Now that we’re home we’re missing the sound of waves, the brilliant sunshine, nightly gecko spotting, and lazing by the most magnificent pool.
Wir haben 2 Wochen in der Villa mit 10 Leuten eine traumhafte Zeit verbracht. Vorab erhielten wir von Oli und Jo alle nötigen Infos, sowie wertvolle Tipps und Empfehlungen. Der Fahrer holte uns pünktlich am Flughafen ab, der Check-In lief sauber und unkompliziert ab. Während unseres Aufenthalts waren Wayan und Kadek morgens und abends in der Villa anzutreffen und haben sich um die Sauberkeit und frisches Essen gekümmert (beide freundlich und zuvorkommend, dennoch diskret). Wir haben uns fast jeden Abend bekochen lassen und waren jedes Mal aufs Neue begeistert, auch das Frühstück war super lecker und abwechslungsreich. Oli und Jo haben innerhalb kürzester Zeit auf unsere Nachrichten reagiert, Dinge für uns im Hintergrund organisiert und uns den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm gestaltet. Unser Flug zurück ging leider erst um Mitternacht - kein Problem, wir konnten in der Nähe des Flughafens den Abend noch in einer ihrer anderen Unterkünfte verbringen - top, vielen Dank für Alles!
Our stay at Balianretreat was really great: situated in ricefields with view to the nearby ocean, untouched beach, far away from the masses of tourism we were pampered one week by wonderfull Wuyan (preparing best lokal food whenever you want in the villa), Housemaid Kadek (cleaning the house perfectly) and our great driver Kadek (who is simply the best guide you can have on the island for discovering the known and unkown attractions)! Although the villa is situated in the middle of rice fields, we had no problems with mosquitos. However, due to the natural surrounding you will have all the sounds that come with it (waves, frogs, birds, crickets...). The next village is approximatly 2 km away, but you can use the given moped from Oli&Jo for a little amount of money. We can highly recommend visiting this unique villa in Bali! Günter & Family
Everything is good in this villa: Design ( each room has a unique character ). Modern design, but you still feel integrated into nature. The view is the best. Amiable Host. I would recommend Villa and come back when I get a chance.

We ended our vacation at this villa, and I’m so glad we did! It’s away from the hustle bustle of the cities. It’s a beautiful villa with the serene views of the rice fields and calming sounds of the ocean. Jo, Oli and Wayan were wonderful hosts. They were very helpful through our entire stay, helping us with the tiniest requests. I would definitely go back here!
Truly peaceful location, the rice fields are beautiful and calming. A true retreat. You can see so many stars. Outdoor pool is maintained really well. Villa is big. Wayan, the house cook cooks brilliant meals with fresh ingredients, highly recommended to try.
We ended our honeymoon at Oli&Jo’s incredible villa in West Bali, and after 2.5 weeks exploring Indonesia on the go-go-go, it was the perfect move: surrounded by nature, away from tourists, quiet except the sounds of animals, the wind and the waves crashing, and the ideal place to relax and unwind while connecting with true Bali The villa is as described: a one-of-a-kind architectural haven, with ample space and modern amenities. We chose to a sleep in one of the rooms that does bot have A/C but cokes with an impressive view of the rice fields and ocean behind them. With the wind, cooler evening air and a fan (provided) we slept like babies. We enjoyed the loud sounds of nature! We loved taking walks around the rice fields and on the practically deserted beach. It's our second stay at the villa, and we immediately felt like home as we entered. We loved to wake up to the sounds of birds and the ocean waves breaking. The Raja and Ratu room havw beautiful viewa of the rice fields and the coconut grooves along the beach. We enjoyed getting massage as the start of the day, followed by beautiful breakfast spread made by Wayan, then little excursion to the beach by walking through the rice fields. I wished we can live our daily life like those days at the villa. Looking forward for our next stay!
Had a wonderful time in this incredible space. A few things to mention , most of which are overwhelmingly positive. The views are OUT OF THIS WORLD . This is a very very special place with INCREDIBLE views. The house is massive & has been equipped with wonderful furniture & amazing quality finishes, from marble to limestone to rare hard woods, it's brilliant & abnormal for an Airbnb. The location for us was amazing, close to a STUNNING secluded beach, but some may find it a little too off the track, access is down a super bumpy track and lots of bugs as to be expected, totally OK for us, but for some an issue. Main issue was the way the house is kept. This house is clearly a stunning piece of architecture but feels a bit run down. It's not an issue for most, but the place felt a little unloved. While the place is cleaned, it's still dusty and a bit run down in bits considering what it could be. Leaks in places so towels placed on the floor etc. Deserves to be loved a little more
The place was as described. Very rural, quiet, and amazing staff (and neighbors). The Balinese food was the best I tasted during my entire stay in Bali. Wayan (part of the villa team) is an incredible chef with her freshly prepared meals - she is a gem! The internet connection worked well. The nature noises at night which were loud but, I enjoyed. I was also there there during the rice harvest so there was less privacy with farmers working close by throughout the day - as a result, the fields were less lush and green. Still, it was lovely to have the agricultural experience! The location is far away from main cities and its surrounding neighborhoods so be prepared to travel to get to modern day shops and amenities. This place is best for staying home/close by to enjoy the nature, the amazing people and the quiet beaches. Due to my plans changing, I left earlier than planned. Oli and Jo were reasonable and I did end up paying 2x rate for the 6 nights I stayed. Thank you Oli and Team!
The place was as described. Lots of privacy and fantastic staff. If you have never had Balinese food before, then Wayan (part of the villa team) will blow your mind away with her freshly prepared meals right in your kitchen. The internet connection was mediocre but the landlord was helpful enough to service it as required. Looking at other reviews, people do complain about the noise of nature (especially the crickets that chirp all night). It can be a bit overwhelming to some but our group found that noise to be very therapeutic and encouraged a deeper and better sleep at night. The location can be very far away from main city and its surrounding neighborhoods so be prepared to travel to get to modern day shops and amenities. This place however is made for one to stay put and just enjoy the nature, the surroundings, the amazing people and the quiet and isolated beaches. Would definitely book again . Thank Oli and Team :)

Everything perfect
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. My family (with kids) and I had an amazing stay at Oli&Jo’s place. We all loved the property, the rice paddy, and the beach. I think it’s the best villa we’ve stayed in. The villa was very well maintained and clean, the view was stunning, the beach was so private and gorgeous, very close to Balian beach to surf, and we had so much fun playing pool and chess. Also, the staff Ibu Wayan and Pak Nyoman were very friendly and helpful as well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some quiet time and insane view.
The beauty of Oli and Jo’s villa cannot be described, it can only be experienced. I still miss the living room looking over the rice fields with the sound of waves in the distance. We were a group of 14 who felt thoroughly at home here. I could not have asked for a better location for this gathering. Wayan, Kadek and driver Gusti were always around to help on any matter. We ate the wonderful food cooked by Wayan and Kadek. Balian is bliss. I can easily stay a month here and still crave a few more days. Lastly, Oli is always in touch on phone and a great host. Thank you guys for such a memorable stay.
Wow! Aesthetically stunning as it was peaceful, Oli’s beautiful home was easily our best stay in Bali. Aside from the unique architecture and layout of the house, Wayan was the highlight of our expirience. She was always pleasant, responsive, and providing us our first taste of Indonesian cuisine! Do yourself a favor and have her cook ALL of your meals. Every meal she prepared was seasoned, cooked to perfection and plated beautifully. Truly chefs kiss*. We weren’t able to enjoy the open air rooms as it stormed pretty badly during our stay, but luckily we requested access to one of the closed rooms where we dozed off comfortably to the sound of the rain. There’s really so much to love about our stay, the untainted beach, the food, the views, the bath, the pool, I could really go on! It was genuinely a slice of heaven; you won’t want to go anywhere once you there. I would book again in a heartbeat! Thank you Oli, Wayan and team!
Fabulous beautiful villa! Such an awesome quiet location. Friendly local farmers. And Wayan, who looks after the house, is an amazing cook. The best food we had on the entire trip. Oli was also super responsive and helpful.
This home is beyond what my family was expecting - it is a breathtaking dream home with a special energy. I hope I can visit again next year for an extended stay as I dare to say this is the most beautiful place and home I have ever stayed at (I've been around). The rooms upstairs that are open to nature allowed for an incredibly unique experience for the members of my family who wanted that but paired with the clean and comfortable air conditioned rooms. Highly recommend eating every meal prepared with the house staff as it's been and I assume it will continue to be our favorite meals. Don't sleep on this AirBnB it truly is special.

Lubię to miejsce, żeby zaszyć się od miasta, pobyć w samotności. Maid Wayan jest bardzo miła i pomocna, oboje z gospodarzy Oli&Jo również! Jeśli jednak to Twój pierwszy raz na Bali możesz być zaskoczony, ze do supermarketu jest godzina drogi. Wayan wszystko przygotuje, ale jednak do miasta jest daleko. Dom jest wśród pół ryżowych tym samym pamiętaj, ze mogą wystąpić węże, gekony, pająki, iguany.

I haven’t stayed in a better place in my whole life , nature , massive and elegant villa in the middle of a rice farm , close to a surf spot and yoga studio , it was perfect for my needs , eat chill surf Write my book and be with myself . Wayan our chef and butler is above incredible. She is so kind discrete and make sure I was ok w everything. It’s exactly what I could dream of. I will come Back for sure
We absolutely loved staying in this villa. It has everything that you can wish for on a holiday. A pool with the most stunning view we’ve had on Bali, plenty of entertainment options like the pool table, movie room, and more places to hangout than we actually had time to experience. After leaving the touristy business of Ubud, this villa let us experience a much more untainted version of Bali. During our walks on the beaches we only encountered a handful of local fishermen. Wayan made us delicious breakfast and lunch everyday and the communication with Jo and Oliver was clear and timely. Thank you very much! If we visit Bali again, this will certainly be our preferred option to stay 😁

Balian Retreat is a pure bliss! The house is a superb architectural achievement, made of noble and materials, very pleasant to live in (the kitchen in particular is perfectly equipped) the surroundings and the view are incredible, and Oli&Jo friendly communication and thoughtfulness further adds to the experience! It was a wonderful stay with our 2 young children, can’t wait to come back!
Offen gesagt waren wir anfangs etwas skeptisch wegen der offenen Bauweise und dem dunklen Holz, denn so sieht man die Insekten und vor allem Moskitos nicht, die unser Blut so sehr lieben. Aber es waren wirklich sehr wenige unterwegs und die frische Brise fühlte sich viel besser an als die Aircondition. Die umgebende Landschaft ist einfach traumhaft, wir konnten uns nicht satt sehen an den Palmen und den Reisterrassen mit den Enten und Vögeln darin. Man kann wundervolle Spaziergänge in den Reisfeldern machen und am endlosen Strand. Grandioser Pool, hervorragend designed, sehr große Betten, tolle Bäder, gutes WiFi, Aircon und Ventilatoren, genügend Steckdosen bzw. Verlängerungskabel, stets verfügbares kaltes Wasser aus der Flasche, architektonisch sehr ansprechendes Haus. Wir haben uns jeden Tag Frühstück und Abendessen von Wajan anrichten lassen, das war reichhaltig, abwechslungsreich und schmeckte wirklich gut. Auch Massagen am Pool und Ausflüge organisierte sie schnell und gut über die eigens eingerichtete Whatsapp- Gruppe. Insgesamt war das eine tolle Woche, perfekt zum Entspannen und abseits des Herdenauftriebs der touristischen Hotspots. Als Ausflug möchten wir noch die Reisterrassen von Blimbing im Hinterland „ den Berg hoch“ empfehlen. Sehr schöne Landschaft auf diesem Weg und noch Original Bali. Das Haus und die Lage in den Reisterrassen ist herrlich. Der Strand ist extrem weitläufig, sauber und wird kaum benutzt. Man kann kilometerlang am Strand spazieren gehen. Im ca. 3 km entfernten Balian Beach gibt es sehr nette Lokale. Wir haben die Woche in dem wunderschönen und bestens ausgestatteten Haus sehr sehr genossen.
A beautiful location for a secluded getaway and incredible beach. Try the breakfast with a view! And the bath at sunrise. Oli and Jo did everything they could to make sure we had a wonderful time.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! The craftsmanship of this home was unprecedented (and I've traveled to >120 nations). It's as if you step back in time into a rural Balinese village replete with farmers around, yet with all of the contemporary luxuries available. The 2nd floor is seemingly perched above a "sea" of rice paddies with a royal view of the (actual) ocean and studded palm trees. The entire home seems to be woven into the environment. Every touch has an aesthetic purpose. 4 minute walk to the beach (on a nice paved trail). 6 minute scooter ride to "town" (with a bunch of charming beach bars/restaurants). Pool table. Extensive DVD (retro) collection and TV room. Gorgeous infinity swimming pool! Oli and Jo were so kind and accommodating! Truly, a Balinese dream...

It has been an unforgettable experience staying in Oli&Jo’s villa. The view of rice field and ocean was just unreal. We were surrounded by nature, falling asleep to ocean breeze and sea waves. The people here were so nice and friendly, from our driver Kadek, to the housekeeper & chef Wayan, thanks to whom we got to enjoy freshly cooked healthy and delicious meals right in front of us everyday. Could not have asked for more. Highly recommend!
We had a amazing time at Oli&Jo’s house. It was exactly as we imagined. We did long beach walks, surfing, relaxing and yoga. The house is really special. We will see us soon again.

Magnifique entrée qui donne sur un majestueux salon et la salle à manger. la cuisine est très très bien équipée, il ne manque absolument rien, c'est un plaisir de cuisiner. Les chambres sont fabuleuses on s'y sent comme dans une immense cabane de luxe avec une vue époustouflante sur les rizières, les cocotiers et la mer. les salles de bains sont parfaites également. Toute la décoration et de très bon goût et haut de gamme, tapis d'Orient, sol en marbre, parquet en ulin... Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le salon TV et la salle de billard. A l'extérieur la terrasse dispose de plusieurs salons pour admirer la vue et profiter de la grande et belle piscine. l'accès à la plage par un chemin à travers les rizières et tres agréable. La plage est magnifique, très propre, bordée de cocotiers qui lui donne un air de plage paradisiaque. on peut y faire de longues promenades au couché du soleil. le staff est très sympathique et fait tout pour rendre votre séjours parfait. mention spéciale pour les hôtes qui nous fournissent des renseignements très complets, ils sont très disponibles et â l'écoute des invités. ce fut un séjours exceptionnel !!!
for me one of the best and quite areas in Bali. The house sticks out through his interesting and open architecture. Checkin was super easy and simple. Love for details. Ricefield and ocean soroundings make it the perfect escape spot. Just make sure bring something to eat, because the area is not yet developed as much. Dog friendly. Coming back again
We absolutely loved our stay. We've been in Bali for 10 years, and this is one of our favorite airbnbs ever. The view and the surronding area is stunning. The kitchen is very well equipped. The villa manager, Wayan, is super helpful. The beach close to the villa is beautiful, and there's no one there. A big tip is to bring your own food. There are some restaurants at Balian Beach (10 min away), but you won't want to leave the villa. Apparently some deliver too, but options are limited. We will 100% come back here again!
This villa was perfect ! Oli and Jo was such a great host, and Wayan was very very helpful ! The kakek next to the villa was very pleasant to talk with, he even offered us fruits ! The paddy field views with the beach and ocean backdrop was such a highlight. Beach being less than 5 minutes away and not with many people around was such a treat.
This place will blow you away. The unique architecture, the many easy spaces to relax and enjoy, the short walk to the beach, the amazing helpful staff and all the utilities you’ll need to make your stay a pleasure. Honestly, the place is magical.
this was, in my handful of years here in bali - everything one could ask for. everyone was super. ordained and efficient. everything was beautiful and peaceful. the sea is clean and the sunsets were extraordinary. very well done
Walking in for the first time to the villa felt like a dream. The view is amazing, almost 360 degree of beautiful scenery. So secluded and peaceful. We did the afternoon walk to the beach, and enjoyed a surreal sunset, just us and no one else. The villa design is blend with nature, looks humble and simple from the outside, but inside you would know that all material used, furniture, and appliances are high end and high quality - very classy, tastefully designed. The pool are the best! Big with beautiful stones. We love swimming before sunset. AMAZING view! But the most incredible part of staying in this villa was the superb hospitality of Oli and Jo and their team. Very responsive every time we need something. We felt safe and they took a very good care of us. The communication was very good and easy, we felt like talking to our good friends, like we have known them for a long time. We can go on and on about how good the villa is, but you better experience it yourself. In summary we had a terrific stay and would love to go back!
It was raining almost the whole weekend we were there, but the house had everything we need to keep us entertained. We use the TV to watch some Netflix and also to play music (it has Spotify), while we cook, play pool and swim. The kitchen is fantastic. Fully equipped with all the pots, pans, bowls, knives, tongs, ladles, baking brush, and other utensils you can think of. We stayed in the one of the open air master's bedrooms, where we can hear the sound of nature and the waves breaking on the beach. Despite being open, we didn't encounter mosquito because there is a net around the bed. We also met the Kakek next door one morning who was super kind to us. He gave us freshly harvested long beans which we cooked into delicious lunch. He also gave us permission to pick some chili pepper from his garden. We took up on his offer and pick some to make sambal. Bu Wayan is also very helpful and quick to respond to our needs. Oli and Jo are very responsive through Whatsapp to ensure we had a smooth stay. Such a wonderful getaway house! Thank you Jo and Oli!
This was our 2nd time we stayed at Oli and Jo's place. Magical, peaceful, unique and comfortable are just some of the many words that describe the experience. As before, my favorite place is the kitchen. A chef's dream. We cooked every night, had night and day swims and daily walks on the empty beach. You must stay here!

(bear in mind, Balian is a bit out of the way - so stock up on your favourites from a supermarket before your stay - as the local supermarket has limited options for foreigners).
Very Nice villa located in a great area. We were with 2 Kids and there are many activities in the area. Such as strolls on the beach on a completely amazing untouched beach, exploring the ricefields and a great swimming pool. Unfortunately the rice field couldnt be harvested in the time we were there due to a local water supply problem for the rice fields. Never the less it was still a great area with a great view!
This is my favorite place to stay in Bali. I have lived in Bali for almost 2 years and I keep coming back to this little haven of peace. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped, the internet was good and the beach is just a few minutes walk away. Beautiful!
Great hosts and a stunning private property! The pool is awesome and the 5 rooms are a great size with their own full bathroom. The pristine beach is only 5 minutes walking through a beautiful path. Hosts are really responsive and kind. Would definitely stay again ! Highly recommended

You can expect the only the best when you stay here ! Oli and Jo are amazing with their communication and are always on hand for any of your needs. The house is a piece of tranquility amongst the rice fields and the ocean-the best of both worlds. The kitchen is a dream for any chef! We cooked every night and even ordered freshly caught prawns from Wayan-the house keeper. The breeze, the views, the wood, structural design and light fixtures all make it feel you are at home. Oh, did I mention the pool table? We played many games each night. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary experience. We loved your home!

This is a beautiful villa hosted by beautiful people. We aren’t exaggerating when we say that it is a magical place! We had our honeymoon there and we dont think we could find a better place. It was remote and peaceful. Located right in the middle of a beautiful paddy field and within walking distance to a clean and undiscovered beach. This means the views from the house was also incredible. And you get to enjoy such views from any room in the house, even while you were taking a bath! Everything was as gorgeous as what you can see in their photos here. We love the fully equipped kitchen. We bought some groceries and we cook our own meals there. (Some stores can deliver ingredients to the villa too!) they have some of the best kitchen tools there! The only downside was the furnitures was a little dusty (despite their best efforts cleaning it) as it was located near the beach. But their beds are so comfortable and you can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Oli & Jo was especially thoughtful throughout our stays. We brought our pets along with us and they provided some buckets of water at all of the entrance so we can wash our pup’s feet before they enter the house. They always responded to all of our needs very quickly and they do their best in making sure we had a pleasant stay. Mbok wayan was also incredibly helpful. There was a time when we needed her help after hours and she really came right away. We love her!
One of the most gorgeous settings in Bali I've ever seen - and I've seen quite a few. This place is a perfect weekend getaway (or even longer, I dream of living here permanently) from the business of some bigger towns in Bali. The setting is absolutely amazing - surrounded by empty ricefields, endless view of palm trees and serene beach. Sunset in the bath of the master bedroom was spectacular, even in the land of spectacular sunsets. The villa is a dream for someone who appreciates beauty and amazing architecture. It is stylish and very unique with the open master bedrooms - can you imagine sleeping in the comfiest bed and waking up to the distant sound of ocean and birds singing next to you. Yes, sounds like a dream! Also 5 stars for cleanliness, 5 stars for communication and support from the hosts. We had a birthday celebration in the villa with a small group of friends and everything was just perfect, thanks to the support of Johanna. She was exceptionally responsive and helpful. Thank you for making our weekend so special and just perfect.

I love Balian and have stayed in many places here. Staying at Oki & Jo’s was such a memorable and enjoyable stay! I will definitely return and I will be recommending their unique place. The kitchen is fully equipped (unusual!), they are so responsive, the view is phenomenal, the rooms are all unique and cool, and I can get to the beach by foot within 5 min... and there is no one there for KMs. I love it.
