Exploring Balian Treehouse 1 - 350m from the beach left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.

The virtual preview of Balian Treehouse 1 - 350m from the beach was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Balian Beach plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.

I found the tour for Balian Treehouse 1 - 350m from the beach painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.

Very close to the nature, can’t keep out loud geckos & insects properly, some furnitures were incredibly dirty and the bed was poor quality.

Gorgeous treehouse.

Overall I wasn’t blown away as other reviewers have stated. I found the place to be cute at best. The description of the room is a bit misleading with the title ”Treehouse”. I have stayed in treehouses before and this is definitely not a treehouse. A better description would be “cabana”. The room was a bit dark and ”rustic”. The grounds did not look like the photos. The photos depict a lush green well maintained space. I understand it is dry season but even considering that the space didn’t seem well maintained. I would have been more satisfied with my experience if I had paid in the $50 a night price range but with a price tag of $100 my expectations were not met. In my opinion there are many beautiful places in bali and even Balian that offer better value for your money.

The new villa on lower section of land is new, open, light and spacious. The villa I was put in was small and dark. Too expensive compared to other accommodation in this area. Area is bit like the old Bali, with some nice restaurants. No shops. So bring snacks, drinks, etc unless you have your own transport. Nothing to see or do unless you surf, but as a short break from the hassle of Kuta, Balian Beach it is a wonderful spot.

The Balian Treehouse is in a beautiful spot and Made is helpful and friendly. However it is NOT 'Made's place' and I think for those who make an effort to support locally owned businesses to say it is is misleading. The garden and pool are clean and attractive but guests should know that these are shared with another guesthouse. I don't think the website makes this clear. The Treehouse is wonderfully quiet and there are good restaurants and nice beaches nearby. For some guests (eg older guests) comfort would be improved by having some more practical furniture. Made's place is a good value if visiting Balian Beach. The location is a bit removed from most of the action, but only 5-10 minute walk to most anything in the area. The property is quite pretty, with lots of greenery, a lovely pool, and a great second floor to relax. However, the main sleeping area was a bit musty and dark. Also, note that they are constructing a new villa right next door, and there's people visible most of the time (workers sleep in the construction site, etc).

The house and grounds are amazing. Made is very sweet. The area is great. Communication was extremely difficult. It was very unclear who we were speaking with before our arrival. Miryam is the owner but she messages as if she is Made. When we arrived there was no explanation on the house, neighborhood or grounds. Made (the gardener) is wonderful but does not speak English so the questions we had could not be answered. The power went out a few times every day (we followed others' advice to not use the shower and ac at the same time). There was construction every day next door and in front of the house. There is a house manual (one page) that is out of date. The information is incorrect, phone numbers are wrong. Given that there are some quirks to the house, it would have been helpful if at least the manual was updated. This could have been an incredible experience, however we were completely in the dark. It felt like, with the popularity of this airbnb, the owners have given up trying to make the guests feel comfortable. Hopefully this was just a fluke and the owners will give more attention to others in the future. Mario (Miryam's boyfriend) stopped by as we were leaving for the airport . He was on his way to go surfing. It would have been nice to hear from him or see him a few days earlier. We tried to contact him but the phone number we were given was incorrect. We definitely recommend this place to others if communication is improved.

Het huisje was prachtig, ook het zwembad is heerlijk. Helaas werd er erg veel geklust en gebouwd achter het huisje zodat wij uiteindelijk eerder zijn weg gegaan vanwege geluidsoverlast. Als je van plan bent overdag erop uit te gaan is dat dus geen probleem.

La casa sull’albero è molto suggestiva. La terrazza che affaccia sul giardino balinese con piscina, è a dir poco incantevole. Purtroppo siamo arrivati in un giorno di pioggia e le strade , già completamente dissestate, erano dei fiumi. Poi però la mattina ci siamo svegliati e dalla terrazza ho visto quello di cui mi ero innamorata. Peccato solo che sia molto lontano dall’aeroporto , da’ Ubudu, da Kuta noi ci abbiamo impiegato 2 ore e mezza. Non è per tutti, ci vuole un po’ di spirito d’avventura. Si possono fare massaggi, yoga e surf. Ci sono 4/5 bar/warung che affacciano sulla spiaggia e lasciatemelo dire, ti rimette in pace col mondo.

What a remarkable and unique place to stay! We were greeted and welcomed at a late time, with a smile. The restaurants around the area were superb.

Stay at this place is very good. However it is a long drive from Ubud/ Kuta. Which is totally fine. However we had a short time in bali and spending all this time on the road was not helping our plans. Place itself if very nice. There are 2 units sharing 1 pool but the other couple give us all the time we needed. We didn’t have shampoo and conditioner in the shower and cleaning level was average. We booked the driver provided by the property which was a big plus. He knows how to get there and he didn’t mind driving us to a nice Ice Cream stop on the way.

Made's place is unique and the garden and (shared) pool are beautiful. The house has everything you need and the upstairs lounge area is lovely but it's all quite well-used and weather worn now. It would be nice if the bedroom area wasn't so small. The addition of a water dispenser was much appreciated since you can't drink the tap water!! The area is quiet and pretty and there's a fairly good range of restaurants for a small village but there isn't much to do beyond surfing. But if you're happy jut to relax by the pool like we were then Made's is great for that! Made was very quick to reply and to help. We thought the place was overpriced compared to other places we have stayed in Bali and given that the house could do with some updating.

We thought the house was nice, but did not feel like the listing was very accurate. In our opinion it didn’t look like what we were expecting, and it truthfully was very expensive for what we got. Other places we got breakfast, and were just a lot nicer for less. The hosts were super sweet and we appreciated them. Balian beach doesn’t have much but surfing and it’s a bit out of the way so keep that in mind. Overall wouldn’t recommend but please don’t feel like it’s a bad place to stay, just want to be honest.

It was very nice, we enjoyed our calm stay. He was always available if we needed something. The Restaurants near by were great. We were happy we could close the mosquito net around our bed , cause we are not used to the geckos 🦎 Thank you Made 🙏🏻

Good and responsible host!

Made was a fantastic host and was always quick at responding and going above & beyond for us. Overall, we had a wonderful experience staying at the treehouse. It's a peaceful and quit place which is exactly what we needed.

Amazing stylish villa with a great hospitality and perfect location close to the Balian Beach. Quiet place is perfect for the couples. 5 min from the Balian beach (one of the best surf spot). Around a plenty bars and restaurants with nice food.

Insgesamt hat es uns im Tree-House gut gefallen, aber wir haben lange überlegt, ob wir 3, oder 4 Sterne geben. Der Garten ist sehr schön angelegt und das Haus auch geräumig und mit einigen Details versehen, aber auch in die Jahre gekommen und teilweise renovierungsbedürftig. Als wir ankamen, herrschte im Erdgeschoss ein muffiger, modriger Geruch, der uns an die sofortige Abreise denken ließ. Erst nach 48 Stunden Dauerlüften wurde der Geruch langsam besser. Das Erdgeschoss ist sehr dunkel, auch mit Licht war das Radieren nicht einfach. Die Spülbecken im Wohnraum und im Bad waren undicht und das Wasser lief unterhalb heraus. Die Handtücher wurden in 5 Tagen nie gewechselt. Im Pool sind einige Fliesen lose und sollten wieder befestigt werden. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt hier leider nicht.

Just want to inform future travellers that this is not an actual treehouse and that the garden and pool facilities are shared with another on-site house. Other than that, Made is a fantastic host. Thank you! Also, Balian beach as a location in itself, is just for surfing and relaxing. Not too much else to do in this little coastal town.

The only negative I have to say is this is not an actual treehouse. I was expecting a treehouse masters type treehouse. This is just a house in the trees.

The villa is too authentic and traditional. So far from touristic areas (more than 2 hours by car from Kuta). Also you can find white lizards and bugs inside. It is not dangerous. So hard to find the way to villa be maps, always ask Made to help. No beach for swimming in this areas, but great beach with black sand for surfing. Good europenian cafes nearby. Nice place for surfing tourists. Wonderful garden and big and clean pool.

A great place to chill. Away from tourist area but still a few nice places to eat. Made was a very good host and happy to help with whatever was needed.

The night time view from the tree house on the pool and garden is magical - like a scene from a Guillermo del Toro movie. One of the less scary ones! It’s a wonderful experience. The house itself is quirky but comfortable and if you’re at all into surfing, the waves are terrific. Plus you get the wonderful Made - a natural problem solver and charmer.

Made was the best host and welcomed us and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning of our stay. The garden is magical and one of a kind. Made took down coconuts for us to drink and we found other tropical fruits around the garden. Our dog loved to go exploring in and around the garden. The only negative to say is: There is a construction of a new bungalow just beside the house which make the experience less beautiful and more noisy. I would have loved this to be mentioned more specific and a discount in the construction period would have been in place.

We had a great time in Balian Beach. It is so secluded and cute compared to the rest of Bali. This treehouse had great wifi and a great upstairs room to hang out in. Like most of Bali these days there is construction next door. The funky house is very close next door in the shared yard so there is less privacy than expected. Bathroom is a little dingy. I think this place may be a little overpriced because of the publicity, but it is still great and we loved our stay.

Overall we had an enjoyable stay at the Balian treehouse. Beginning with the positives, communication with Made and the owners was excellent both before and throughout the trip. All questions were quickly answered and their advice was very helpful. The owners also put us in contact with Gusti who drove us around several times during our stay. We were able to make plans and keep in contact with him using Whatsapp which was incredibly helpful. Additionally, the house and property are quite beautiful and are pictured accurately in the listing. The house is just a five minute walk from the beach and we really enjoyed the sleepy, yet tourist friendly town of Balian. That said, we did experience several issues. During our stay our toilet started leaking and was unusable for several hours (however Made fixed it that day). Additionally, we never had hot water in our shower for the entire trip. I should also note that we rented both houses on the property which we shared with family members. For us, the layout was ideal; but for other travelers the two houses are quite close and I could see lack of privacy being a potential issue. Finally, all travelers should be aware the owners are building another villa next to this one (not noted in listing). During two days of our stay about six men were working on this house during the day, starting at 8 am. We found this frustrating as the construction is not picture or mentioned in the listing and this really diminished the private, serene atmosphere we expected. I highly recommend all travelers check on the status of this construction before booking. Overall, we did enjoy our time here and the hosts were both friendly and helpful but travelers may want to check on the issues I mentioned.

We found this villa as it was advertised as one of the "top 10 most desirable AirBnB listing". The expectation was high prior to walking into the villa. The exterior of the villa is true to the listing, charming, cute hut sitting on top of the hill. The room itself felt a bit small and can do with a table/chair for sitting inside at night. The upstairs area is open and non-air conditioned, whilst we didn't use it at night due to mosquitos it is a great look out platform during the day. You can always take the fan from down stairs to up stairs on a hot day. A bit of a draw back is the bathroom/toilet area. Looking back to the listing we've realized that there isn't really a shot of the shower and toilet in the villa and it might have something to do with it is not the most appealing part of the equation - The bathroom area lives in the staircase area of the villa, being an enclosed area with small windows covered by greens it felt a bit damp and could do with better ventilation (Made will be cutting back the green). Whilst we were there we also found that the toilet is a bit crocked and leaking slightly (Myriam suggested that she will be replacing the toilet). The track to the beach/restaurants can get muddy when raining as the area's road isn't really built up but with all the developments that is going on in the area I suspect the roads will be upgraded down the track. The restaurants were great at Balian Beach and we enjoyed breakfast/lunch/dinner there. Whilst we only stayed 2 of the 3 nights booked, through communication I can feel that the Balian Tree house is being managed by a team that cares. Myriam was quick to respond to my concerns and explained to me things they are doing/will do to address the points, I trust the villa with grow as it receives more and more positive criticism. Made is friendly and is on site from morning until around 4pm. We didn't really need his help with anything and he just worked quietly on the villa next door when we were there. All and all I think it is a great little place to enjoy the nature and sit by the pool during the day. The night life at the near by hotels/restaurants felt lively. If you are not a night thrill seeking person it can feel a bit trapped at night in the room. like everything it is probably a place for everyone but I can definitely see the charms that this little villa brings.

To be honest, it was quite a shock arriving late at night in the dark at the treehouse. We just enjoyed a couple of days in a luxury hotel in Singapore and were not yet prepared for all the overwhelming "nature". But that quickly changed. Friendly Gusti picked us up from the airport and showed us around the house. In the garden we were greeted by a couple of frogs, some snails and a few gecko's. They were soon to become our pets. After a good night's rest we met Made who immediately climbed a tree to get us some fresh coconuts. Many more fruits followed throughout the week. There were two small issues upon arrival and first day, but they were resolved within the hour and Myriam made sure we could relax to the max. We mostly ate at the lovely restaurants in the village or at the night market and I enjoyed a flat white from the coffee stand almost every morning. The food was very enjoyable everywhere and the people are very friendly. Also, the food is not expensive at all, causing me to eat and drink way too much. We often ended the day on the top floor looking over the garden, amazing. The tropical sounds are also a guarantee for a great night's sleep. I really found this the ideal spot to enjoy a nice holiday and find rest. Of all my vacations this is the one were I feel I returned in the most relaxed state possible.

A stunningly beautiful location. Made and his wife were very welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. Balian is a friendly little community. We certainly recommend Treehouse.

Amazing House and perfect host :)

We arrived to this Eco-touristic treehouse as our final of four villas during our two week honeymoon around Bali. It truly is a marvelous and cute little house with a spectacular upstairs that is relaxing and wild at the same time. The ocean is visible from the second floor that overlooks the beautiful yard. Putu greeted us wonderfully when we arrived and explained everything clearly. The surrounding area is currently getting developed which did mean that it was easy to walk to several different options for restaurants. We were not surfers so we did happen to rent a scooter (organized for us by Putu at a very reasonable price!) in order to go down to Echo Beach farther East however there is a beach not too far off from the villa. It was a beautiful last three nights at this simple villa that truly communicates the wild nature of Bali. I would recommend this for any adventurous couple that loves to live in isolation and in the heart of more rural Bali away from the craziness of Kuta.

The tree house or mushroom villa was serene. Clean but full of nature. Thanks for having us! Thanks also for suggesting Gusti, he was an excellent driver.

Although I did not meet the owner Myriam, Putu the tarecaker was sensationally helpful and friendly and did her utmost to pamper me and make my stay a wonderful pleasant one. The mushroom house is just as described: a perfect relaxing getaway. The approximity to the beach and also having a pool for yourself is a beautiful luxury. I wold definitely recommend this site and will be coming back!

Heerlijk relaxed en goed geregeld. geweldig uitzicht op koeien tussen de palmbomen. Hebben er alles aan gedaan om het zwembad af te krijgen maar we waren net een paar dagen te vroeg. Zeker een aanvulling voor toekomstige gasten.

Staying at the treehouse was quite a memorable & unique experience. It has a homey feeling plus the top balcony is a very good place to meditate or just while away your time. Miryam gave us some welcome drinks which are 2 fresh and cold coconuts left in the fridge. The bed was quite big and she has a big collection of dvds for entertainment during the night. The treehouse is near to the beach but there are only 3 restaurants within walking distance. The sunset at Balian beach is very stunning so do not forget to watch it as u have dinner or a beer at Pondok Pittaya. Miryam including her caretaker Putu and the taxi driver Gusti ensured that we were picked up and sent to the airport at the right time. Overall staying there was a wonderful experience, which a hotel cannot replicate.

A very peaceful and beautiful escape. The tree house is surrounded by nature and only a short walk from the local warungs and the stunning, wild black-sand beach. A lovely place to relax and discover a different side of Bali. Made was also very kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay!

We loved the beautiful garden pool and balcony views. We discovered great places to eat that never disappointed and lovely sunset views. Made takes great care to prepare for his guests and maintain a leaf -free garden and pool. The only observation is that truck noise heading to Java was audible at night: somewhat muted by an additional fan. The privacy, landscaped gardens and sea breezes created great vibes.

Staying at the Balian treehouses was the highlight of my trip to Bali. I only wish I could have stayed longer. The treehouse is tastefully decorated, private and peaceful, and walking distance to everything in the very quaint village of Balian Beach. The grounds were cleaned every day and kept spotless by Made and his crew. Made was a great communicator at all times, always responsive and going out of his way to provide assistance - including carrying my heavy suitcase for me from the road! I have nothing but good things to say. I will be back to Balian Beach in the future and I will absolutely be staying here again.

beautiful place, quiet street, no scooter sound, big two stories house (the upper unit has such a comfortable couch) and you have a big fridge, kitchen, good air conditioning and filtered water there was some noise during my stay from neighbours cutting grass and trees, but im sure that doesnt happen all the time, other than that it s very quiet and intimate

Just book your stay already! Such a lovely place to unwind and recharge in a quiet area of Bali. My partner and I were talking about return visits on our first full day there we loved it so much. An absolute GEM to stay in and Made was a great host. The pool was fantastic and the location is SUPER walkable to nearby cafes and restaurants. 10/10 would recommend!

My partner & I loved staying here. The garden is incredible and upstairs has several comfortable chill out spots. Get money out before going because it’s mostly cash only and there aren’t close atm options. The area is beautiful and quiet which also means there aren’t a lot of options for food. Deki’s Warung was definitely a favourite and Bali Spirit Yoga was outstanding. Made is very helpful and always within reach, highly recommend.

If you have ever dreamed of running away to an island and living in a treehouse-now is your chance! Such a cool spot with a fantastic host. What’s not to love? Close to walk to great cafes, the beach, yoga and surrounded by nature-this gorgeous spot is like being in a fun and creative fort for kids- of all ages. Made the host was so helpful, friendly, responsive, had great suggestions and was on hand for anything you need. Thanks Made and family for such a great stay and creating such a great place to us to enjoy. You will love it here!

Wij hebben een fijn verblijf gehad in de accomodatie van Made. Hij ving ons persoonlijk op bij aankomst. Het zwembad hadden wij uiteindelijk helemaal voor onszelf. Voor vragen konden we Made makkelijk bereiken. Hier reageerde hij snel op en kwam met goede suggesties. Wij zijn heerlijk tot rust gekomen in dit mooie, rustige verblijf. Met zee en restaurantjes dichtbij.

What an absolute perfect spot for rest and relaxation. I rented both homes on the property so I could have privacy and it was even better than the photos!!! There is a little elevated hut that we took a nap in every afternoon and it was our fav spot

Great stay!

This is a great place to spend a few days. The building itself is just beautiful, especially the top floor. The swimming pool is well kept. There are two accommodations that share the pool, but we were the only ones there when we arrived. Balian Beach has a very laidback surfer scene. Casa Balian Cafe has soms of the best pizza I ever had!

Was exactly what we were looking for, a private and "jungle-like" vibe Minus the noise from the local birds and dogs this place is awesome if you're traveling light. The local coffee shops and beach are phenomenal as well. Thank you

Cozy place great staff!!

The treehouse is a lovely, rustic place in quiet Balian Beach. We really enjoyed spending our time in the open plan area on the second floor. The structure of the thatch is very impressive. The pool and garden was shared with the villa next door, I was a bit dubious about it, but that turned out to be OK as our neighbours were quiet and respectful. The garden itself is very well maintained. This was our final stop in Bali and it gave us the time to relax. Thank you for having us, Made. 🙏

Great place, beautiful setting and Made was very helpful throughout the entire process. Sadly we only stayed for 2 nights at the start of our trip but would 100% recommend.

Loved staying here for the last part of our honeymoon. We got lost on the way here and Made communicated with my driver and even rode his bike out to find us. Place is quiet, close to the beach, and next to lots of quiet local cafes to eat. Great stay and Bali hospitality.

Lovely little hideaway very close to the beach and local restaurants. Simple clean lodgings in a very quiet location in beautiful nature. Shared pool with another treehouse next door but we never saw them. If you’re after a chilled stay away from the crazy crowds of Kuta then this is the place. Included water cooler, tea and coffee, tv, good wifi, fridge and basic toiletries. The host Made was super friendly and helpful with organizing driver. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Highly recommend, we had the best stay with Made. Felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Everything was exactly as pictured, beautiful space, within walking distance to everything you need. Make no mistake, it's a quiet town but that's the point! Such a calm energy, it's impossible not to have a relaxing time. Easy access to the beach, multiple restaurants/cafes (some able to deliver) same for massages and a few yoga options close by. Made was incredibly kind and helpful. Take any recommendations he offers! Especially his driver, Gusti; who met us at the airport and drove us to Balian Beach. We stayed in touch with him and he drove us back to the airport from our last spot too. Made, was very professional, made us feel comfortable and I couldn't recommend Made and the Tree House more highly.

Treehouse 2 is a clean, peaceful (but you can hear traffic from road behind), secluded retreat 5 mins from beach in a quiet village with good bars and restaurants. The garden & pool is shared with another house which, for us, was no problem. The bedroom is directly off main entrance door, is small but has enough space for sleeping, good a/c, a stone wash basin/sink and wardrobe/closet. Also a small worktop gas hob we never used. Bathroom is also on lower floor and has a good shower, WC &wash basin. A steep open staircase to upper floor rises from bathroom to living space and balcony on upper floor. Great for chilling out with double day bed and glazed doors (which we never closed) onto balcony, which also has a comfortable nest style chair. Made was always available and really helpful. He gave pick-up contact for airport transfer which was great & organised massages in the house. Mojo 2mins for good coffee and food. We had the most amazing stay at this Airbnb. The garden with the swimming pool is something completely out of this world. The house comes equipped with a comfy bed and nice, relaxing spots on the second floor. The host, Made, and the driver, Gusti, are incredibly kind and were really helpful throughout our stay. Balian Beach is an awesome spot to just relax as it’s a bit less touristy than regions like Ubud, Uluwatu, etc. Thank you again for hosting us! Would definitely recommend!

Has the most magical stay… highly recommend for anyone that needs a peaceful break. And Made was incredibly helpful at all times!

Super relaxing. Option to have massage everyday at the Airbnb. Host is super helpful with recommendations and connect you to a driver if you are coming from the airport. Lots of great restaurants within 5 minutes walk or less. We had the pool to ourselves whenever we wanted to use it. AC in the bedroom but also no AC on the second floor which is nice (if that’s your thing).

I had a great time in Balian Beach. The tree house was wonderful, it felt like a small paradise. Everything was in walking distance amd easy to reach. I had a wonderful stay!

Made was exceptional. His availability and service made this stay great. Very unique place. The first place we had had a shared pool and I thought it was private, but Made moved us to next door and it was phenomenal, highly recommend staying in the 3rd hut. It is huge and private. Were so glad we decided to travel out of the main area of Bali and come to Balian beach just so relaxing and peaceful. The huts are clean but note it is in the country so there are bugs etc, and the shower is outdoor but still warm. Made organised massage and scooter hire while we were there also. One of the best places we've stayed around the world.

We had a great stay at the Balian treehouse. Balian is a very lovely small village away from the crowded tourist hotspots. The house is amazing and we felt like we were in paradise. Made was very friendly and helpful, even after we already checked out.

This place ✨. Nestled into “jungle”. VERY private. I basically had the entire property to myself. Swimming in the pool at night looking up through the banana tree palms, floating on my back under the cascade of the midnight stars. The home owners attention to detail of the homes decor. From the pebbles that adorn the wall holes as art to the type of pillows used in each of the “nesting” spots. This place served as a refuge for my soul. And! A super fun wave out front! Made is the absolute man! Very comfortable to communicate with. Gave a personalized service to my requests of rescuing me when I got lost in the dark (haha! Not kidding) to driving me to a sunset view to hiring a driver for a personal tour of local rice terraces and private waterfall. I will be back 💜 thank u Made, for being rad! 🙏🌴🤍

A new favorite spot in Bali! Never been to Balian Beach before but will definitely come back <3 Pictures don't do the place justice - you have to come see it for yourself! Perfect for a bit of a retreat-vibe with no distractions, few people and loads of nature. If you're a creative and looking for somewhere to write, paint or sing, I would say that this is perfect. Hope to come back and finish my second book later in the year! 10/10 recommend!

Made was helpful from the start! The place is secluded, making it a little hard to find for drivers that are not from the area but made gives clear step by step instructions to make sure you arrive safely. He is very proactive and he helps with everything you need. Will definitely stay here again. It was relaxing and peaceful especially after the soul purification and yoga.

We had a fantastic stay! The house itself is comfortable, and the garden is absolutely amazing - not just beautifully landscaped, but brimming with birds, squirrels, and butterflies. Our own little paradise! There are several nice places to eat in the surroundings, and the beautifully rugged beach is nice for surfing (though not the best for beginners). Made was a great host - helpful and attentive but never intrusive. He arranged laundry service and lovely massages for us, and got us in touch with their amazing driver (Gusti).

Great place, but be mindful that the location might not have what you expect in terms of things to do, other than a number of spots to eat and a surfing beach.

Die Gegend ist sehr ruhig, Fotos erscheinen, größer als in der Realität Schlafbereich und Pool. zum finden, war es ein bisschen schwierig, weil keine wirklich geklärte Straße vorhanden war aber sowas nennt man glaube ich Baumhaus Feeling.  haben Schimmelgeruch in der Küche könnte man definitiv noch was ändern und auch an der Sauberkeit im unteren Bereich aber der Rest war sehr sehr sehr empfehlenswert, wer Baumhaus Feeling mag im offenen Bereich der kann sehr gerne buchen.

Absolutely beautiful place. We felt like we were in paradise. It was a really nice way to switch off for a few days. We had the place to ourselves which was great. There is a kitchen if you wanted to stock up on some food before you arrive. 5 minute walk from the beach. Lots of surfing and surf lessons for a good price if you are a beginner. Amazing sunsets! We would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay again.

Made made us feel welcome and was friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. The property is beautiful, clean and well maintained, walking distance from everything we wanted but still very quiet and private. Beautiful little piece of paradise.

Absolutely stunning accommodation, within a short walk to the beach and some restaurants/cafes. Host was super responsive and helped me arrange a taxi from Canguu. Garden and pool area stunning. I was solo travelling and there was no one staying in the other treehouse which I was grateful for as sharing the pool area with a couple, for example, could be a bit awkward! The beach is highly suitable for surfers, which I am not but still enjoyed watching them and the general vibe. Great restaurant overlooking the beach just 5 min walk from treehouse. Comfortable bed. Would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get out of the main areas of Bali but still have access to beach/food. Loved it thank you.

Very unique stay. Exactly as described/pictured. We were lucky that the other property was vacant, so it was also very private. Highly recommended booking if you are planning to come to Balian Beach. Only thing to note is that Balian Beach itself is very quiet, great if you are a surfer, but not much else in terms of activities and only a handful of places to eat.

Made is one of the best Airbnb hosts out there! From our trip planning to our last day in Bali, he was very helpful, responsive, and kind. My husband and I had many requests and concerns (as foreigners and honeymooners), and Made responded to them all. We were sick during the first two days of our trip but the beautiful surroundings and relaxing walk to the beach helped us recover quickly. On our last day, Made booked a tour for us to the waterfalls and rice terraces. The tour, with our driver and guide Dwe, was awesome! It showed us the hidden gems of Bali. Only my husband and me were there! So it was very serene and easy to take photos. We rented a motorbike and drove to the night market to have fried chicken and bakso ayam. The Airbnb has plates, cutlery, and cooking essentials. There are also great restaurants nearby—my favorite was Pondok Balian, but Deki’s Warung offers cheaper eats. The pizza and pasta at Casa Balian were delicious too! Best views were at Secret Bay. :)

自然に囲まれて、ゆったりとした最高な時間を過ごせました。特にベランダからの眺めが素晴らしく、とても癒されました。 ホストのmadeはチェックイン時間なども直前まで柔軟に対応してくださりました。 周辺には小さなレストランやカフェがいくつかあり、食事には困りませんでした。海を眺めたり自然を感じながらおいしい料理をいただくことが出来ました。 また、ツリーハウスでは一日を通して色々な生き物の鳴き声がよく聞こえてきます。虫は意外と少なく感じました。滞在中には2匹の猫が訪問してきて、とても可愛かったです。 運転手のgustiも親切で、帰りには空港に着く前にお土産屋さんに寄ってくれたりしてとても助かりました。 本当に良い時間を過ごせました。夢のような体験をありがとうございました。

Perfect stay. Place is exactly like pictures and even better. Secluded location very peaceful and quiet. The host was extremely responsible and extremely helpful in our stay. Several restaurants within walking distance. And a beautiful beach within walking distance.

The treehouse has amazing and amazing energy and I loved the beautiful decor and set up. Made was an amazing host. He was so helpful and he connects you to others for any services you would like. Balian Beach is a sleepy little surfer centric town two hours into the Indonesian countryside. 6 or 7 small friendly beachfront restaurants that are open in the mornings until 11 or 12, and open again from 4-9. Bring plenty of cash during your stay because ATMs are sparse and most vendors only use cash for food and services. -Made is the best host I’ve ever had. Anything I needed he helped me with or brought for me. From beer to scooters to insect repellent, he rescued us. My wife and i throughly enjoyed our time in the treehouse and even though we don’t surf, this magical place has left it’s mark on us, thank you so much for your hospitality Made, you and your team are very special and kind souls ♥️🙏.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la tree house chez Made. Le logement est vraiment atypique et tres bien construit, il convient parfaitement pour une expérience de logement insolite à Bali. La piscine et le jardin en ´ contrebas sont également tres jolis et agréables. Made a été tres réactif et très agréable, nous donnant notamment les contacts d’un moniteur de surf. Concernant la région, Balian Beach vous conviendra si vous recherchez à échapper aux lieux touristiques de Bali mais pourrait s’avérer un peu trop calme pour ceux qui voudraient tout de même rester dans une certaine ambiance, la côte est jolie mais peu fréquentée et donc extrêmement calme a presque toute heure de la journée.

Made war sehr hilfsbereit und sofort da, wenn man etwas braucht (bei uns kam das Taxi nicht und er hat direkt für ein neues gesorgt). Die Unterkunft ist auch mega schön mit dem Pool. Die Restaurants und der Strand in der Umgebung sind ein Traum.

Great Host Great House

We had a wonderful stay at Made's place! The tree house is as dreamy and beautiful as the pictures. It feels private and is away from the bustle of tourists, but there are restaurants, cafes, stores, and the beach at a close walkable distance. The place is slightly difficult to find, especially at night, but just have your driver contact Made. It is also quite far from the Ubud area (~2 hours when busy), so make sure to arrange your schedule for that. Made was extremely helpful and pleasant. Even though we arrived late, he gave us thorough explanations about the place and nearby places to visit. We felt very comfortable staying at the treehouse. Overall, this was a lovely stay and we hope to stay again!

Just as seen in the photos. Really peaceful quiet spot, with a beautiful garden and lovely views of the garden from the veranda upstairs. The pool and garden is shared with Funky treehouse nextdoor, also owned by Made. There's plenty of room and sun loungers so no issue at all. We actually had the place to ourselves most of the time. Made was very responsive and helpful with any questions, and came with his wife to do the cleaning each day so was easy to ask anything in person or via messaging. Balian Treehouse is a short walk from a beach which is great for surfing. It's a bit more remote and secluded which is nice. There was some debris from recent flooding which was being cleared each day, but by all accounts it is beautiful beach. There are a handful of local restaurants/bars towards the beach, we really enjoyed Tekor Bali for dinner and Pondok Pitaya had great sea views for breakfast. There aren't street lights at night, but it's only a short walk so no problem. Fantastic stay!

Beautiful tree house. Love the round roof and view from the balcony and from where you could relax in the garden. Balian beach is a very peaceful place and quiet. Cafe is nearby and restaurant too that came delivered to the door. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Thank you for helping me out!!

Absolutely breathtaking little place with beautiful pools and places to lounge. We checked in very late, and Made was very accommodating. We booked a massage and it was super simple and it was amazing. I highly recommend doing that during your stay.

This was the best air bnb I’ve ever stayed in. It’s absolutely beautiful, the treehouse is secluded in it’s our little paradise. But in just minutes you can walk to local restaurants and the beach. The air bnb is located in pondak pataya village where the locals are soo kind, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Made is an amazing host. Any questions you have he can answer. He organized rides, tours, surfing lessons, massages and literally anything we needed. Everytime I messaged him he responded very quickly. If you’re going to Bali this is a must to stay here!! I will 100% be back to this location. Thank you to Pondak Potaya for welcoming my sister and I as your own!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Made was wonderful at communicating with us. We arrived late and he was able to wait and flag down our driver. The place was a dream amidst a lush setting and a beautiful pool! It was just a 5 minute walk away from the beach and restaurants. A beautiful place to relax and enjoy a quieter side of Bali. If you surf, current is strong. The current is not as strong on the other side of the river. There are bats in the evening and the morning that was very interesting. They don’t come close but they were beautiful to watch and a surprise for us. Something we don’t get to see where we live in Hawaii.

Made’s treehouse was pure magic! So beautiful and peaceful. The pool was perfect temperature. Balian is beach is so quiet and everything is easily walkable. I would 100% come back and stay at Made’s place again.

We stayed at Made's place for 6 nights. It was amazing. Not just the home but Balian beach, it is hugely not touristy, yet you can find excellent restaurants and everything that you need in about 5-10 minutes walking distance. Made was really helpful and Gusti the driver too. We went with Gusti for the full-day trips and it was really convenient for us and he also picked us up from the airport which is great because he knows where the airbnb is.

Such an amazing stay in Balian beach! We only stayed a few days as part of our honeymoon but Made made us feel right at home. Balian beach is a good quiet part of Bali if you just want to unwind away from the world. Amazing vibes and great people

Honestly, I would rate this place a 12/10. Excellent host, and the place is lovely. You get exactly what you see in the photos. The beach and restaurants located close by were great. You’ll definitely want to spend at least a day to explore the area around you.

Well maintained garden and surrounded by nature (although we could hear a bit of the traffic from the main road during the day, but not at night!), and the property is in a great location - walkable distance to many restaurants and the beach. The tree house is cozy with comfortable bed and it's dark at night which allowed us to have a great night of sleep! The tree house is spacious with the upstairs area making a great place to chill at night. A couple of comments to make this place even better: we did not have kitchen towels nor bathroom mat - it would have been great to have these items provided. Nevertheless, I recommend Pak Made's place. Thanks for having us dan sampai jumpa lain kali!

Lovely tree house, great view, great vibe mainly n the 2nd floor. Details that may be improved, the weird smell the bed and the couch in 2nd floor had was not nice! The noise due to fixing the sealing next door. (2nd house) But towels smelled great and pillows were very comfortable. Despite the small details, Made was always responsive and willing to help out. Nice, chill place.

Balian Tree House is amazing - the garden with pool and the second floor of the house are great! It was very private and everything was walking distance.

It was an amazing experience to spend few days at this beautiful house. The pool and the yard were very amazing, quite and styled. The location is very close to everything. There is a nice coffee place just around the corner, the beach is by 3 min walking and very close there few nice restaurants. Because of that everything is so easy in balian beach. About he house I can say that it has 2 rooms, one where you can sleep, and one where you can just chill with balcony, sofa. There is also a desk and good internet connection for who need to work. I’ve also worked during my stay and it was very smooth. Not so good part about the house is the bathroom which is under the stairs, but was ok overnight We also tried massage at the location actually 2 times, and was a very nice and good massage( for that you just need to discuss with Made and he will help you. The. menu is in the house with all types of massage. So what i can say overall is that i really recommend this place for anyone!

We stayed 7 nights at the Tree House with my wife and we have one word for this place - HEAVEN! The place is amazing, beautiful garden with a pool, very cute restaurants around and everything walkable. Made was always responsive and taking care of everything we need. But the best part of the whole experience is every morning the sounds of the birds, it was unreal. TRUE PARADISE! We didn’t want to leave!!! The last day the owner even gave us present FREE massage. Thank you for everything!

Great place to feel like you are on a big adventure but in fact you have all you need around! Far away from noise and bustle of Bali, the ocean is 5 mins away, it was perfect for a break I needed.

Beautiful treehouse with lovely pool in quiet location. Beach is in walking distance and various cafes and restaurants close by. Made, the host is also very helpful and responsive. Perfect getaway into nature after spending time in busy Ubud.

Good: Great and responsive hosts. Unique property concept and design. Well maintained exterior and grounds. F&B within walking distance and can get spa treatments in villa. Average: Interior is starting to age. The neighboring treehouses (under the same host) that are more recent have superior designs such as open air bathrooms, outdoor kitchens, dedicated pool, and more lighting. Cons: Didn’t care for the location. Balian Beach is good for surfing but other neighborhoods have more diversity in activities. Overall, recommend the property but wouldn’t return due to location. But if I did return, I’d choose their two newer listings over this.

Thank you for a wonderful stay Made. Gusti was amazing, fetching me from the airport and showing me a little corner of Bali. He is a wonderful guide. I was able to leave feeling relaxed and rested. As an elderley woman travelling alone I was comfortable that I did not need to worry about anything. Your place is lovely.

Perfect little seaside getaway for a nice little retreat. Location was a little tricky for our driver who was not familiar with the area but a quick call to Made got him back on track. Exactly like the pictures, simple treehouse with the necessities. Spent a lot of time in the pool and in the cute cafes by the beach. Perfect place to disconnect and listen to nature. Definitely recommend and will be back to stay.

Located in quiet, Balian beach, a small surfers town perfect for getting away from the touristic places in Bali. the treehouse has everything you need, including an incredible view and perfect pool. Loved the stay here so much, it was relaxing and the nearby food options are delicious. A great way to wind down after an action packed start in Ubud. Spent a lot of time reading, swimming and relaxing! Made was even so kind as to allow us to stay on the property and use of the room on our checkout day as our flight wasn't until midnight.

The place is gorgeous, in a wonderful location, and the host and Made are amazing! So incredibly kind and helpful, anything we needed they were right there.

Made provided excellent assistance in helping our taxi find the location, making check-in simple and easy. He also provided a wonderful driver, Gusti, for our transfer to the next hotel. Balian Beach is a lovely place with enough restaurants to provide variety and choices, yet quiet enough to feel restful. The treehouse is a fun alternative to ordinary hotel rooms, we enjoyed hanging out upstairs in the open breeze and lounging in the lush garden by the pool. We would love to return someday.

Quirky upside down house in a fantastic location near to the beach. Made was lovely and helpful during check in and check out processes. The balcony was our favourite spot to sip a beer and read Thank you Made!

I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking about booking to go ahead and do it. It looks just as amazing in person, as it does in the pictures. (I would recommend it even more to those who will be spending time in the pool, as spending time in and by the pool is one of the best ways to appreciate the scenery.) The driver that the host can connect you with is also incredible. He is one of the kindest people I have ever met, and will accommodate to your needs. Although it costs extra, it is totally worth it to be picked up by him, rather than a random taxi. WARNING: Please do not forget that this is a treehouse! There will be small insects that naturally come in as a result of its location. They are not bothersome whatsoever, but if a few small bugs inside your space bothers you, you should look elsewhere. The bathroom is not close to that of a hotel’s. Just keep all of the realities that come with such a beautiful outdoors in mind when booking. Despite this, the AC and the water dispenser work very well making it extremely comfortable. The bed is also very clean and well-kept. One you are there, the restaurants are a 5-10 minute walk away. I would highly recommend Tekor, as it has excellent food and great service. Always feel free to reach out to the host with any questions. He is great at responding and is of great help.

Made’s place was absolutely beautiful! If you’re staying in Bailan Beach, this is the place to book. I felt so comfortable in this treehouse. I loved the design, the bedroom was super comfortable and the upstairs was a great way to relax, get a massage, and connect with the outdoors. This treehouse is super special and really intertwines nature and the beauty of Bali. Bailan Beach is anywhere from an hour to two hours from Denpasar, Seminyak, Tabanan, Canggu, and Ubud so plan trips accordingly. There are no shopping centers, malls, Starbucks, or anything of the sort nearby! This is a great stay if you’re looking for something quiet and less touristy! It’s a local, small village experience and I loved every second of it. Great for surfing as well. Made was a great host that made sure I had everything I needed. His communication was fast and he was there for anything I needed. I enjoyed a brief walk to local cafes along the beach! It’s only 5 minutes away! If you want an extra fun scenery, please visit the secret cove restaurant! It’s a longer walk than the rest of the restaurants (15 minutes or so) but they served the most DELICIOUS food (the best food I EVER had in Bali) and it was a peaceful walk that was worth it. The staff were so kind and it was nice to be so close by. I walked along the cove of the beach and it felt secluded and beautiful. Beware along the way there may be dogs (there are many dogs in Bali) that bark at you but they are not aggressive and don’t attack. If I am in Bailan Beach again, I’m definitely booking here again, hands down. Enjoy Bali, everyone! ❤️

We stayed at the Retro House, not at the Tree House. The owner is the same and they upgraded us. Retro House is truely amazing place! The design and architecture are made so smart, so all the details are very convenient and beautiful. Nice pool, lots of places to chill and work. Balian beach is a gem, especially the right side with almost no people around and wonderful rocks. There are a few restaurants there, all are very tasty but they accept mostly the cash only, so keep it in mind. Thank you for taking care of us and for this beautiful getaway to the jungle!

This greet house is incredible! This space has such an amazing vibe and personal touch. It’s just as advertised but even better in person. The grounds are kept very neat along with the gorgeous pool. Everything from the booking, check in and check out was incredible. I’ve stayed at many Airbnb’s all over the world and I can honestly say this was a wonderful experience. Everything was really great! I wish I could have stayed longer.

What an amazing stay we had here. The pool was perfect and really great to swim in after a long hot day exploring the area. The vibe of the little village was very relaxed with some great places to eat and drink. Do yourself a favour and book at least three nights.

We loved our stay! Made was excellent with communication. Property was beautiful . Amazing view from upstairs balcony. Air conditioning was excellent and a life saver as the heat is tremendous! Spent hours in the pool! The place also provided a large water dispenser that had cold, room temperature and hot water. That was a ++ bonus. Store is in walking distance as well as multiple restaurants. Only negative thing was you have to go through the bathroom to get upstairs which can be awkward at times but we made it work ok. Very highly recommended for a great, peaceful stay. Great value for the money!

Made’s Tree House was an incredible place to spend our first nights in Bali. He set us up with airport transfer that was there as we arrived. During the 2.5-3 hour drive from Denpasar, Gusti told us about things to do, eat, and see in Balian. Check in was easy, and we were exited to see that there was a water purifier in the room for our use. The house and surrounding area were clean, and the landscaping was immaculate. We ate at Tekor Bali, Casa Balian Cafe, Toms Garden Cafe, Secret Bay, and a small warung on the left side of the road on the way into Balian Beach. We enjoyed the Warung for lunch, but Secret Bay was a bit disappointing. Do take the walk down to watch the sunset there though! Overall, Made’s place is quiet and laid back. Just the right atmosphere to recover from jet lag and enjoy your first few days in Bali. We cannot recommend it enough.

Made is a great host. His reply was always fast and clear. We had a lot of luggages (You can imagine if you travel with a baby or a toddler), when we arrived. He helped us carry them all the way through the garden to the room. It is such a beautiful house with a fantastic garden and pool. Basically you can expect the house as described. Nothing really exaggerated. (I personally thought it looked a bit better online but probably my expectation was too high) The only thing I found uncomfortable during our stay (2 nights) was that the water basin is quite small. And for those who are sensitive to privacy, the pool is semi-private(!) Overall I recommend to stay here to completely relax. Enjoy this beautiful bamboo house!

It is a beautiful place, near to the beach and restaurants. The treehouse when you are on the 2nd floor balcony makes it feel like you are in the trees because of the contour of the land. It is nice to see the bird’s flying around. There are several cafes and restaurants on the way to the beach. The beach is a good for surfing for a couple or family who wants a nice day at the beach.

This is by far the best airbnb I have stayed in! My girlfriend and I had a splendid time in this magical villa, torn right off a magical fairytale. It for sure is more beautiful in person, than the pictures! The pool was amazing, as well as the top floor. We were so flashed by everything, that we forgot to leave the key, but quickly resolved the issue with their driver, who ended up taking us on further trips for a fair price whilst sharing valuable insider tips! Thank you wholeheartedly for this once in a lifetime Bali experience!

Excellent stay in a fab place - your own private pool - lots of places to chill out - a sleepy beach village - with a handful of delicious restaurants

If you want a place to relax and be away from city life, then this is the place. Aside from having a fantastic place to rest, you will have access to the beach, great restaurants, surfing, yoga, badminton etc. And when you do want to check out more of the island, then Gusti is the guy to go to. I highly recommended.

Super tranquil spot

We have a great time staying in the treehouse for a super relaxing couple of days and Made is a fantastic host. The space was really cosy and so nice to hang out in that we didn't do very much else. The pool is great for a refreshing dip after a hot walk and there's plenty of places to eat and drink very close by, including a night market 5 mins walk away with some of the best food we tried during our 2 week Indo trip. For me the highlight was also trying all the delicious fruit that grows in the treehouse garden!

The pictures are beautiful but the reality is even better! The space is larger than I anticipated and the upstairs had so many places to relax and read a book it was hard to choose. The house has a Swiss Family Robinson vibe with modern amenities. You can actually see the ocean from the upstairs as well which was a pleasant surprise. Made arranged for me to be picked up in Kuta and several massages for me over the course of my stay. Could not have asked for a better host! The location itself is a sleepy beach town away from the hustle and bustle of places further south on the island which was exactly what I was looking for. The sunsets on Balian Beach were some of the best I have ever experienced. Book this Airbnb!

Truely THE paradise!

My partner and I live in Canggu but we wanted to escape the busy city and go for a unique getaway for his birthday. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway in a still untouched village in Bali, Balian village is perfect! We loved staying in the treehouse, reading on the balcony and waking up to the sound of the ocean in the morning. There are also a few restaurants a few minutes away from the Airbnb which makes the stay even easier. On top of that, a great bonus was having your own water tank in the room. The host is also very accommodating and very helpful with arranging everything :) We wish we could stay longer but we will definitely come back!

We absolutely LOVED this spot. We wished it would have been available for us to stay longer. Made was absolutely amazing, helpful, and certainly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was more then we had expected. Plus the recommended private driver Gusti not only picked us up from Ubud, but also drove us to Canggu after our stay for a very reasonable price! The decor and small detailed touch’s in the space made it not only interesting but comfortable. The small kitchen was a nice and even had a French press for coffee in the morning, the bathroom was incredibly spacious, and the upstairs treehouse was the perfect place to just zen, read a book and feel the ocean breeze on an incredibly hot day after a dip in the pool. There were multiple places to eat, we particularly loved the Casa Balian. Great coffee, and many fresh, healthy options. Only a 4 minute walk from the treehouse. Though we don’t surf, we enjoyed sitting out near the beach just to watch. The town is very quiet with many pups roaming around, there was a yoga studio by beach and everyone wears so friendly.

We had an amazing time in the Balian Treehouse. The garden and the pool are just amazing, like a little paradise. You can see that they really take care of everything. Made was just fantastic, whatever we wanted to know or needed help with he was immediately there for us. Thank you so much, we will definitely come back.

We stayed at the tree house for one night and it was extremely cool. We were staying in Canggu before so this was a bit of a change as it’s very quiet and not a lot to do but chill out, hit the beach. There’s not a lot around and only about 5 restaurants that are in walking distance. Great place to sit back and chill out

100% recommend! The treehouse is only a 5 minute walk away from the beach and all the restaurants on it. It is a perfect place in Bali to relax, far from the hustle and bustle. Made and his family keep the place looking truly beautiful. We got to meet Mario & Miryam who are just as lovely. The service was impeccable & very attentive. Hope to come back.

Cet endroit est fantastique! Moi et ma soeur avons adoré. C'est un oasis de paix et de tranquillité. Le jardin est magnifique et très bien entretenu, la maison est décorée avec beaucoup de personnalité et de goût. La terrasse en haut avec la vue sur la mer et le jardin est un enchantement. Le coin lui même est très sympathique. Balian beach est un lieu protégé du tourisme de masse et il y fait bon vivre. Les touristes sont essentiellement des surfeurs, heureux d'être là. This treehouse is one of the most beautiful sights we have seen. The views are stunning and the treehouse is everything you could want for a peaceful getaway. Made was very friendly, always asking if we needed something. The location is right near a beach. It was very peaceful in comparison to the rest of what we had seen in Bali. Yet not derelict to the point where you were limited for restaurants etc. We throughly enjoyed our stay, the photos are completely accurate and it’s a true sceptical. We highly recommend this accommodation. Thanks Made for welcoming us to Balian Beach.

I recommend the treehouse to anyone looking for a tranquil beach getaway! My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights on our honeymoon and wish we could have stayed longer. 2 nights is not enough! We used Gusti (per Made’s suggestion) as our driver and he was prompt and on-time to pick us up from our hotel over 2 hours away. When we arrived at the treehouse, we were greeted by Made and were shown where to find everything we needed and more in the property. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both got great sleep. The shower was lovely, and all the linens provided were clean, smelled delightful, and soft to the touch. The property and treehouse were very well kept, clean, and BEAUTIFULLY decorated. There are so many little touches added to the property, and you can see all the hard work that was put into making the treehouse what it is. The pool was a great place to cool off after a long and hot day in Balian Beach, and the treehouse was just a few minutes walk from the beach and wonderful restaurants. Our favorites were Takor Bali and Sushi Surf, which were both basically right down the road. We hope to return again and stay at the treehouse again or at one of Made’s other properties. This was by far the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in, and highly recommend staying here!

The treehouse was definitely that - a treehouse in the jungle so expect the occasional critters (bugs/lizards). With that said, the place was clean and the service was great! Cute restaurants nearby however the beach is mostly for surfing not laying. Overall relaxing and unique place to stay in Bali.

The treehouse is amazing!! What a lovely place to get away and chill at. I wish I would have had more time to enjoy this little slice of heaven. I had a great stay (6 nights) at the tree house, and enjoyed the beach close by just as much as the pool available at the property. Location was great, close to lots of cafes and restaurants, I explored the area around Balian Beach, Secret Bay and beyond Pantai Mejan. August was a good time to visit as the weather was lovely, not many mosquitoes and lots of sunny days. I’m only sad my holiday was so short. :)

If you are thinking of booking this place, think no longer & book it before someone else does!! Honestly this place was a highlight of our honeymoon, we travelled from the UK with zero accommodation booked bar this treehouse in the middle of our holiday because they were the last available dates when we’d looked months in advance while scrolling this site. We literally planned our honeymoon around this stay! And it superseded our expectations!! We were running late on check in after making our journey from Gilli islands, it was gone 9pm by the time we arrived, but Made was there to help us with our bags and to check us in, he even had suggestions as to the restaurants still open if we hadn’t had dinner (which we hadn’t). You share a pool with one other of their houses (the glass house, another listing) however we didn’t see one person, whenever we were in pool or on balcony we were (or felt) totally secluded. You can hear the waves from the balcony & will easily lull you to sleep if you let it. Although we felt like we were the only ones there, when we had found we’d used all the ground coffee they’d supplied, a WhatsApp message to Made meant it was refilled within 5mins!! Also one of the days while enjoying pool, Made walked by and prepared us a coconut to drink that had just fallen from tree! He also made arrangements for our further travel to Ubud after we’d checked out, so if needed they are there to accommodate whatever you need. All the amenities were there if you wanted to cook, however with their map of bars and restaurants a short walk away you had no reason to! They have a water machine with boiling, room temperature, and ice cold options. Brilliant idea! The air con was the best we had in Bali by a long way! The bed & pillows were so comfy, and with a soft thin quilt compared to sheets was a nice touch! The decor is exactly what you see on the listing, bright colourful and quirky. Very in keeping with its surroundings can, the grounds were amazingly well kept, we spent a lot of the time saying to each other “have you seen that plant over there” ahah I’ve thought really hard to critique this place and cannot for the life of me find one fault or improvement that could be done. We will be back again ❤️❤️❤️❤️

A paradise

Das Treehouse ist jederzeit eine Reise wert. Die Ruhe dort und die wunderschöne Lage ist einfach bezaubernd. Wir haben den Pool und den sehr schön angelegten Garten genossen. Auch abends auf der oberen Terrasse zu sitzen und den Tag ausklingen zu lassen haben wir sehr genossen.

We are from United States and on night 3 of our 8 night honeymoon- first night we got in at 1 am at Densapar and by the time we got through customs it was 2:30 am- the front of airport was confusing with taxis and shuttles- limited american/English interpretations and since maps looked like Hilton Garden Airport was just across Street we decided to walk.... probably should have broke down and paid 4 bucks as it was a little jaunt. Night 2 was at a boutique resort with about 8 other units- all a paradise but not a lot of privacyas you could hear people talking from all outside points...not at the Treehouse. Upon arrival we met Made and he instantly lifted up the vibe as we were still adapting to the 16 hour time difference. He escorted us to the treehouse and as we were getting hungry he helped us order food delivery which was about 5 minutes away and I ordered a pizza and my bride got the chicken and rice...was both AWESOME and I think it was like 200,000 or $12 bucks. The bed had net coverage and even though the room had areas exposed to outside the net made my wonderful bride content. She fell asleep and I wanted to enjoy every second so I was going for a midnight swim. Was more cozy sitting on the bamboo covered sunbed- taking it all in- the sounds, the warm coastal breeze and the strategically placed lights that created a resort feeling gleaming from pool. Next morning we trekked down to Ocean- about 7 minute walk and passes locals- all with smiles and warm greetings. Some roosters crackling and about half way to the oceanfront there is a little pet monkey that someone owns- it's tied up to a tree so was kinda sad- glad we saw the wild ones later. The waterfront area is a 7 minute walk-had a few surf shops for rentals, a few different yoga studios, a couple massage places (about $12/hr US), coffee shops and great surf beach. We got a late check out and enjoyed the "privacy" of the pool- even ordered 6 Bintang's from same restaurant that we ate dinner and delivered within minutes and was like $3.00 beer! We stayed at 7 places in 8 nights and this was one of the best.... we stayed at another Airbnb Ocean Front in Puta, At Double Six in Seminyak, A mansion in Ubud and a resort spot in Nusa Dua on last night. One night wasn't enough at this place- and the Funky House next door- no one was there but if we had another couple that we could hang with for a week- it would be the perfect place.

After spending a crazy week in Seminyak & then spending our last week at the treehouse in Balian Beach was the most relaxing way to finish of our holiday as this place still holds what Bali is all about. Beautiful food, people & culture.Will definitely be back & can't stop telling our friends all about the treehouse. Coolest place to chill out in.

Well. This place is exactly as it looks in the pictures, incredible. The place is goooorgeous. A bit hard to find, but an amazing private oasis (pool is shared with another house). Bed is sooo comfy, and there’s hot water. We booked the place for 4 nights, but unfortunately only stayed for one. We had never been to Bali before, so didn’t really understand where anything is located. The Airbnb itself is a 7 min walk to a quiet black sand surfing beach. However, it is located on Balian beach which is a ways away from everything else in Bali. (about 2 hour drive from Ubud with traffic, 3-4 hours to airport). None of the excursions we booked were able to pick us up from the area, so if you’re looking to explore Bali and have a trip full of activities - this may not be the best place. However, if you’re looking for a fun private and romantic getaway, this is it! Also, the area is super safe and you can walk to plenty of restaurants.

Made’s treehouse is stunning and just like the photos! The rooms and pool are kept clean and very private. The location is very quiet, perfect for a relaxing getaway with a few nice restaurants nearby. Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone!

We stayed in 3 different places in Bali during our trip and the Treehouse was definitely the best out of the 3! Great host took their time out to have a chat with us to settle us in and give us all the necessary help to allow us to make the most of our holiday. Highly recommended. We will be back for sure.

Balian Beach is an exquisite vacation escape. This is a place where you can truly unwind. We often walked the beach and only saw a few local fisherman and a couple surfers on the waves. There are plenty of great restaurants in easy walking distance and if you can get up early the morning, the fruit market is outstanding. We also highly recommend Bella Spa and massage. The space is a little quirky, but the massage is fantastic and you really can’t beat the sound of the surf in the background. If you need to do any transport, use the recommended driver Gusti. He is knowledgeable, friendly and very punctual. This is a fantastic place. We recommend both the tree house and the funky glass house (amazing outdoor first floor). Great place all around!

The Balian treehouse was a wonderful experience. Everyone was very friendly around the neighbourhood. We had massages on the beach and we definitely recommend going to the night market for good,local and cheap eats. Get the fried chicken! Nice and clean private pool. Just a few minutes walk to the beach. We really enjoyed ourselves.

The photos of the Mades place are amazing and even better in real life. Walking up to the tree house was surreal. It’s your own private oasis. If you want to feel like you are in your own private treehouse this place is for you. Added bonuses - excellent wifi and HBO on demand if you need a little technology to wind down at night Lots of restaurants a short walk away towards the ocean. If you are comfortable renting a scooter you are good to go Great place. Tough to leave it behind

Made's treehouse is spectacular! It is just as the pictures and truly a magical space. Made is very kind and quickly responds to messages. The driver they use, Gusti, is also very kind and extremely helpful for transportation. The pool is fantastic and the beach is less than a 5 min walk away. There are also many restaurants before you get to the beach and right on the beach. No motorbike necessary. I only stayed 2 nights but wish I could have stayed longer. I will be back for sure....highly recommend this place!!

A great place for relaxation and amazing Balian hospitality. Such a laid back atmosphere with great surfing and dining options. Honestly, we could have stayed at Made's place the whole time, considering the beauty of the property and the amenities. Made was such a genuinely nice individual, always wanting and willing to make our time in the area enjoyable. Definitely a suggestion of ours!

This was our first top for our Bali adventures and we couldn't have picked a better place to begin. Really quiet location was perfect to shake off the jet-lag. Beautiful property, pool was perfect temperature, excellent bed, great A/C, plenty of fresh drinking water. 3 minutes walk to get to the beach, and 2 minute walk to some great local restaurants. Great communication with host. Made gave us a lot of great local tips, was great with communication while in Balian Beach, cut us open some fresh coconuts, and introduced us to a great surf instructor (Eddie). Gusti was our pickup from the airport (2am? no problem), and we even used him for some Ubud adventures. He showed us some great local spots. Both Made and Gusti became instant friends to us.

This place is simply amazing. Secluded, quiet beautifull close to the beach and a couple of nice restaurants and especially the top Floor is so nice. We zoent Hours Just relaxing and chilling there. Perfect place to wind down

This place is a ABSOLUTELY beautiful! It is exactly like the pictures. I loved waking up every morning and walking down to the restaurant (3 min walk) for breakfast and then going to the balcony to enjoy the view. It is so peaceful and serene. It is in a village and a bit far away from the main attractions, but made can arrange a driver to take you there. The drivers were so nice and gave a lot of ideas and places to go. The only thing we ran into was there was heavy rain and with it the power went out for a couple hours at night, but that's expected everywhere with a storm. We were there celebrating my daughter's birthday and Made decorated beautifully with balloons and arranged a cake. He was also able to arrange for an in house massage upon arrival. His hospitality went above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend this treehouse to everyone, it is a must stay.

Mades place is a quiet villa that is perfect for a getaway from the hastle of the tourist hotspots. Fair priced restaurants are just down the street. For a budget dinner, you can also take a walk to the night market. The pool is shared with another villa on the same property.

The Balian Treehouse will be a recommendation to anyone traveling to Bali looking to unwind. The accommodations are inviting and colorful. The upstairs loft is perfect for lounging, with views of a lush garden & pool. AC & WiFi worked very well. Cold or hot filtered water, coffee & tea included as part of the kitchenette. Made was available and thoughtful during the stay. The location is ideal for those seeking a unique hidden beachside town~ easy walk to many great dining options, cafes and surf rentals.

My husband and I really wanted to get away from the hectic part of Bali and spend a few days up the coast. This beautiful house and environment was definitely a breath of fresh air. If you want to experience an authentic, beautiful, relaxing time in Bali, this is the place to go. With Balian beach just a minute scooter ride away, it’s perfect if you want to spend time surfing or doing some yoga. The house itself is cute and comfy, but if you’re afraid of the cutest geckos ever then maybe it’s not the place for you. You might find one of them inside the house, as you would in a lot of places in Bali (I personally love geckos and think they’re one of the best parts of Bali). Next time we come, we really want to stay in the bigger house with the private pool...it looked amazing. Made was an awesome host and we couldn’t ask for anything better. Thank you so much!

Made is an amazing host and as helpful and attentive as you could expect. He was super responsive to messages leading up to and during the stay and very accommodating of any requirements. The tree house itself is amazingly tucked away and hidden off the main roads but close enough to convenience stores in one direction and beachside restaurants in the other. Air con in the bed room is perfect for sleeping with and all the amenities (kitchen, toilet, bathroom) are well kept and sufficient for long or short stays. Upstairs provides an open style chill out zone / work space as well as a balcony furnished with a swing chair + double lounge bed overlooking the tree canopy and pool below. The pool is open and receives brilliant sunlight whilst is also surrounded by plenty of shade in either the Balinese hut or on a day bed under any number of trees. There are 1 or 2 other tree houses in the same vicinity though privacy was not an issue at all as plenty of trees separate the space. Finally, the wifi is fast and reliable and bed is extremely comfortable. Overall this was an amazing and peaceful stay and well worth the trip to Balian. I can’t wait to visit again some day.

the place is amazing. Even more beautiful than pictures. Though it is few minutes walk from beach but at night the streets become too scary as there are no street lights. Made was a great host and was always a text away. He really made our stay comfortable.

We had a very nice experience staying at Made’s place. Obviously, this is a beautiful treehouse with a nice little garden with pool. It is close to the Balian Beach and a few small restaurants & massage places. It is tucked away from the busier areas of Bali, so if you’re seeking a more secluded space with access to a black sand surfing spot, this is ideal for you! The house was nicely appointed with a comfortable bed and powerful A/C. There is also a small kitchenette for light cooking and a water machine which dispenses filtered drinking water (hot and cold). It is a very peaceful place with little disturbance or noise. Made was a good host, checking our needs and even organized a driver to pick us up from our hotel in Ubud who was also very nice & reasonable. Made was responsive to my messages and is available through WhatsApp which makes it easy to communicate as a traveler. I would stay here again!

This truly is paradise. The treehouse is on a small dirt road in a small surf town far from the hustle and bustle of Kuta and Denpasar. It is authentic Balinese living with a private pool and an air conditioned bedroom. Surfing and local restaurants with inexpensive and delicious food are a mere minutes from your getaway. Stay here, you will not regret it.

as shown in pictures. very beautiful property. Host Made is very polite & always available for help & support. The tree house is amazing, pool is super good, very quiet and relaxed environment. It is located near Balian beach which is best for surfers not for general tourists (unless they wish to remain in super quiet & relaxed environment). the location has local network issues, WiFi issues and there is no local market. For food one has to walk around 150-200 meters for cafes. Also there are only 3-4 cafes on the beach. During night walking to the restaurants is very creepy as there are no lights and dogs come running towards you while barking. Overall, we had a funtime during our honeymoon. No cellular network No wifi availability didn't bother us much, we used to use Cafe's wifi. recommendations for travelers: Do stock up from Alfa Mart or Any market before check-in, if you don't have personal vehicle hired. The to and fro from Airport or south Bali to Balian will cost you around 10,00,000 IDR of $70. There are no nearby tourist attractions, all attractions are around 1-2hrs drive. The cab costs around $70 for 2 hrs to and fro drive. The place is in West Bali. Made is super awesome but he is not available all the time on the property, one has to call him, but without cellular network and wifi network it gets tricky. the place is romantic & a treasure for couples/family who surf.

This place is amazing!! If you’re considering booking - don’t think, just do it. The pool was beautiful, and the views from the upper level of the treehouse were stunning. So relaxing and calm surrounded by nature. Also, the local restaurants and vibrant sunsets are only a mere 2-3 minute walk away. Head to toe - this place was fabulous and Made’s hospitality made it that much better!! Only stayed one night but don’t make the same mistake, book more :)

Made was a great host. Everything was well thought out and he offered suggestions for things outside of the compound. There is a net to cover while you sleep however we still had a creepy crawler come into bed with us. It is a treehouse surrounded by nature so that is to be expected. Otherwise we had a fantastic stay.

Our trip to the Balian Beach Treehouse was fantastic. It is a beautiful, natural house that really was as stunning as the photos. Balian Beach is also a lovely and quiet small surf village that I wish I could have spent a few more days at. If you are a surfer, or want a taste of a laid back part of Bali, I would highlight recommend visiting. Made, who manages the property, was very kind and easy to work with through the whole process. Gusti, the driver that the host arranged our transfers with was very nice, very informative on the ares and was very competitively priced especially vs other local guides. He went out of his way to accomodate us (even with a last minute early morning travel request) and was always on time. I would highly recommend using him to get to and from this location! All in all this place gets 5/5 stars from me!

The house is very pretty and in a great location when interested in surfing or just relaxing at the (private) pool in a quiet balinese neighbourhood with very good restaurants nearby. The parking space was quite impractical when arriving with your own rental car, as the road leading to tree house is very narrow and difficult to drive even in daylight. Communication with the host and check-in /check-out we're easy and convenient. Might be a little overpriced when compared to similar Airbnb's in Bali, but definitely a great place to stay!

The treehouse was a wonderful getaway. Balian is a small community that is away from the hustle and bustle. It was a great place to relax. A private location made it feel as though we were alone in the tropical environment!

A unique accommodation, basic kitchen and bathroom facilities but the incredible upstairs and outdoor living space more than made up for this. The beach, small market and smaller supermarket a short walk away. Great local restaurants nearby that are very reasonably priced. The host and locals are amazingly friendly and welcoming. A fantastic experience!

We had a great time in the Balian tree house. Wonderful house, wonderful garden, very nice people - Made is a great host. Balian beach is a very, very nice place if you don't expect party time during your vacation. Unfortunately the situation with the earthquake on Lombok island took us to leave Bali earlier. But maybe we'll be back sometime.

My partner Callum and I stayed at the treehouse for 2 weeks. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and cared for by Made. He was in contact with us from the moment we landed in the airport and kept in touch with our taxi driver (Gusti) and waited for us to arrive at the house (3 hours later than expected). Made truly makes this house a home and is eager to help in any way he can. He goes above and beyond to make sure that your holiday is everything you wished for. His family is equally as lovely and even surprised me with a homemade birthday cake and a present during our stay! The house itself is clean (within limits of being immersed in plantlife) and offers enough space for relaxing and making the most of the grounds. Made cleaned the Treehouse daily and was available 24/7 for anything we needed. We will definitely be returning to see Made and his family again, as well as the local driver Putu, whom we highly recommend for day trips and excursions. He was a great driver and humble, offering knowledge and the history of the local attractions and culture. He is well priced and is relaxed too, which for us was exactly what we were looking for when going on a full day trip to Ubud etc. We did use the cooking facilities in the house, and made use of the night market, which has a small supermarket too for everything you need. A few locals also suggested the warungs there in the evening for food. We loved Tekor Bali (restaurant) and the staff are wonderful- the food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. We have been home a few days now and are already itching to come back to this wonderful place. If you are looking for a welcoming place to stay with an abundance of relaxation and beauty then this is the place for you.

Miryam was an amazing host, even though we did not meet in person she made sure our needs were met. She was very considerate and understating, quick in responding to all my questions and requests. Her hospitality was amazing and her houses are beautiful. Our stay could not have been made more comfortable and easy if it was not for MADE. Made in my opinion is probably one of the most resourceful men in Bali. You name the service that you want and he will make sure you have the best of what you asked for. Some of the services we requested (in house massages, taxi services, laundry, tours, etc) I am very happy, I was able to find an open spot in their very busy schedule and I would definitely stay there again for some peace and tranquility.

The Villa is amazing! Just like in the photos.:D We loved to stay on the balcony and look over the tropical garden and the wonderful pool. We also liked Balian Beach and the nice people there. Would stay here again!

Made's place was amazing! Gorgeous property and such a friendly host. He even helped my boyfriend when he was sick - getting local medicine for him in the middle of the night. So hospitable. And the property was a short, easy walk to the beach and cute local restaurants. We would highly recommend to anyone!

Beautiful, private space close to Balian Beach - there is a 3 hour trip to the airport so make sure you leave 6+ hours to make your flight (as there are very few roads in / out)! Honestly you need about 6 to get back to airport, just in case there are bus breakdowns in front of you. Also travel lightly / don't bring a lot of bags. Made, Miryam and Gusti (driver) made my stay an absolute pleasure. VERY close to the beach - I took the roundabout way of waking once, which was also beautiful and only took about 12 min. However the "secret" path to the beach (immediate left as soon as you're on the road from your room) only takes 4-5 min walk as promised. You are RIGHT near the beach. The garden, pool and treehouse were simply stunning. Really beautiful, peaceful and serene. They look exactly like the photos. There were some ants that found their way into the treehouse however (and I had some food around too which I wrapped up) - they really kept to themselves though and did not even come near the bed. Really "polite" ants (haha) and I'm sure this is nothing that your hosts couldn't take some spray to fully eradicate. (I didn't want a lot of bug spray so I didn't ask - AND I was able to use the excellent mosquito net to sleep bug-free, even though it wasn't high season for mosquitoes). VERY helpful. I've been to India and Costa Rica so I'm familiar with traveling in different countries where you're not going to get the "Sands Resort"-style of vacation (sometimes there are bugs / sometimes you have to be careful not to use too much water when you shower [though this was not a problem at the treehouse], and make sure you drink bottled water) - so this place was really beautiful, one of a kind, secluded, private and welcome to me. They also provided a 5-gallon bottled water installation for drinking in the room. The beach was FANTASTIC - the food at the beach was really good - get a fresh coconut with a straw, hang out, surf, it's amazing.

The treehouse was everything the photos exude but even more impressive in actuality. Made is a most gracious host and responded immediately to any request or question whether food, massage, drivers. I would return in a split second. Of all the places I have been on the planet this is one of the most memorable and unique homes of which I have ever experienced. You will not regret the choice!

Made’s property in Balian Beach feels out of a dream. With the beautiful garden and pool is offers seclusion, but the beach is also just a short walk away. The beach is absolutely stunning, a black sand beach were you can watch both the sunrise and sunset, go surfing, or just relax. There are also plenty on restaurants to eat at in the town. I recommend Tekor Bali, it’s the restaurant I ate almost all of my meals at. Made was very accommodating and always around to make sure I was enjoying my stay.

This Airbnb will always hold such a wonderful place in our hearts - we got married on the property! Our hosts were so beyond accommodating and we couldn't be more thankful for them not only allowing us to be married on their property, but going out of their way to make our experience as seamless and beautiful as possible. Their hospitality was incomparable and this airbnb is even more beautiful than in the photos. Balian Beach is so relaxing and is our new idea of paradise. If you are considering booking the Treehouse or the Treehouse 2 (also, so gorgeous!!), don't hesitate! The place is amazingly beautiful the garden is so tropical and so well looked after. Me and my girl friend enjoyed swimming in the pool on hot days and watching movies in the treehouse in the rain. We hired a scooter for the three days and ate at the sushi restaurant on the beach almost everyday which is awesome. We went surfing and enjoyed massages and breakfast at the secret bay which is such a cool spot for lots of photos. Made a local is extremely helpful and does such a great job. Highly recommend this place

Magical place, in the most beautiful setting. Made always there for anything we needed, laundry, massages, coconuts! A very memorable place :) We will see Balian again.

I'll not write about the house, simply check the pictures it even looks better than that. The area is so relaxing and the house is near the beach and there are few restaurants within 5 min walk. Around 10 min away from the main road where you can find ATMs, pharmacy and mini market. Made is a great host, helpful and will do his best to make you enjoy your stay. Gusti the driver is also nice and a good tour guide.

The pictures don't even do this place justice. What a home. Located right down the way from beautiful Balian Beach, this is THE spot on Bali if you are looking to be a beach bum for a few days. Made, Miriam, and Mario are some of the most generous and caring hosts I have ever had. For example, during my stay here, there were contractors working on a small construction project nearby. Not a problem in the slightest. People work in the world. It was not bothersome. Made and Miriam were so concerned with making sure my fiance and I had an exemplary stay, that they sent a duo of massage therapists to the Treehouse free of charge to make up for any disturbance we may have experienced (which was none. We aren't that picky, but we LOVED the massages all the same). Other touches made our stay a step above yje regylar. Made came by during a swim and cut open fresh coconuts from the garden for us to drink. The nearby locals invited us for drinks and songs with a local rock band during the evening. All in all, our stay was beyond exmplary. Highly recommend.

This lovely Treehouse was exactly what I needed. The slower pace of a surf village with the most wonderful host (Made- no surprise he’s a superhost!). Answered each of my questions promptly and took care of me as if I were family. My driver Gusti was also amazing. He instructed me how long it would take to reach the places I wanted to visit and what times would be best to go. I can’t thank you all enough for my wonderful week in Balian.

Beautifully rustic tree top villa surrounded by lush tropical gardens. We loved the pool and outdoor hut to relax, especially in the evening with the pool and garden lighting creating a magical ambience. Great location with the restaurants, beach and yoga just a short walk away. Will come vist again.

The treehouse was our little oasis. We relaxed a lot on our terrace sourrounded by green lush nature. Made was a great host and Gusti a responsible driver. Balian Beach is a little surf and hippie/hipster place with a good vibe. Surf lessons and yoga can be found at the beach, nice restaurants as well. Our favourite was Tekor Café just 3 min walk away. At the treehouse we had a nice massage, just ask Made, he'll arrange it for you! If you are looking for a time out to recharge your batteries, don't mind little crawlers in the trees, and want to stay in a very special place admits the green nature close to the beach, this is the place to go. I would come back!!

WOW!!!! The Tree house was AMAZING! The pool area is so beautifully landscaped and the Tree house is comfy! There is a night market at the top of the road for local food and a few great beach restaurants within walking distance. Perfect place to relax and rejuvenate! We have to also mention that Made was the highlight of our stay! He was so kind and accomodating and we know we have made a lifelong friend! One word: amazing. Usually the pictures online look better, but the treehouse looked exactly like the pictures. If you had any questions Made was available to help and was also very kind. For example arranging transport, or helping out to book surfing lessons. Would definitely recommend this!!

We had a lovely stay in a really relaxing and picturesque environment. A bit far from other main touristy destinations and a tad expensive to get to but in the end totally worth it. Great for yoga and nature lovers. We met Made and Mario and they were both really friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend. Hope we will get the chance to come back!

The tree house is the most relaxing and laid back place I've visited ever! The space itself is comfortable and modest with everything you need, plus there is the incredible scenery and the friendly and always helpful Made. He was there anytime I had questions but gave plenty of space for comfort. Also, Gusti was available and willing to drive to any tours or to and from the airport. He has so much information and facts about the island and its culture it makes the drive very enjoyable. The house is only a few minutes walk to balian beach where you can surf(they have boards available to rent) or enjoy beautiful views and there are plenty of excellent restaurants along the way to choose any meal. I will recommend the tree house to anyone considering traveling to Bali who is interested in being away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thank again for the incredible stay, I hope next time is longer!

Die Fotos versprechen nicht zuviel, es ist eher noch besser als es die Fotos zeigen. In dem Areal gibt es 2 Zimmer/Häuser die vermietet werden und beide sind wundervoll gelegen. In einem Wunderschönen Garten mit Pool und auch 2 kleinen offene Häuschen um einfach zu sein. Ich kann diese Unterkunft nur weiter empfehlen. Jederzeit wieder, Made ist ein super Gastgeber und kümmert sich rührend um seine Gäste, danke nochmals für alles

A place to hang out, have a swim in the pool, enjoy the georgous scenery, have a hort walk to the bech and eat at the tasty restaurant TekorBali which is in a 4 min walking distance. Made was welcoming us warmly, showing us around and organzing us a driver for a trip to Tana Lot. There were a few Geckos in the room which ran away quickly when we approached them, so no cons :)

This place has no faults, it's like a magical world. The villa is in a perfect location to the surfer beach and close to loads of cool restaurants, definitely stay here. We will surely be back!

Stayed here for 5 days and it really is a little slice of heaven!! Loved staying here. The pool and garden are fabulous with loads of places to chill out. It is a short walk to the restaurants and beach in Balian and not far to shop and ATM. This place is really only if you surf or want to really chill out away from it all which we did. I can not recommend this place enough and made really made our stay enjoyable :)

This villa is a little piece of paradise. A tad far if you're looking to explore the more popular destinations in Bali but perfect for a few days of quiet relaxation. There is a great driver available if you're looking to go to other areas of Bali during your stay. The restaurants nearby are fantastic and at great prices. Pool is amazing for a hot day and the upstairs of the villa has stunning views and lots of comfortable space to lounge and relax. Made can also arrange massages at the villa which we HIGHLY recommend.

The place was great, and Made was a great Host. Though the listing was not quite what we thought it was going to be: It was a lot more secluded than we thought, and the interiors were not as nice as they looked in the photos. But the pool and garden were lovely. If you would like a super quiet, secluded place and you're into surfing, this is the place for you.

This is a charming place! Quiet and peaceful, far from touristic paths. Small but very cozy houses (we rented both) are kept clean every day. Made was very helpful in everything and Gusti (the driver) took us to all the places around Bali. Perfect place for rest!

Fantastic little getaway from the hustle of Seminyak and Kuta. One of the most unique accomodations in the world. Would highly recommend this to anyone! The owners, Miryam and Mario and the house keeper, Made, are all great people and very friendly and kind.

Just literally landed back in France after a 2 week stay at the treehouse and glasshouse.. It's everything and more you could ever ask for. From being met at the airport by Gusti who then acted as our chauffeur for the two weeks to being met by Made at the treehouse why we we arrived everything was seamless and perfect. We wanted a relaxing stay and that's certainly what we had. Managed 3 nights in Ubud during our stay which was great to visit buy it was lovely to get back 'home' to our paradise villa and the peace and quiet. Thank you Myriam, Made and Gusti for making our stay a memorable one. I'll certainly be passing on your details to any of our friends who show a interest in visiting Bali. Look forward to our second visit sometime.

This is such a magical place. The garden is so beautiful and well looked after. We loved swimming and lazing in the very comfortable pool chairs. The view from upstairs was gorgeous looking out to palm trees. We loved sitting on the verhandah listening to the heavy summer rain.

This place is awesome!!!! Made is phenomenal! He made sure we had everything we needed. We rented scooters and he had one delivered to the house, he ordered a massage for us as well as even climbed a tree and got us a coconut. Everything was within walking distance! The food at the local restaurants was great! This place was super quiet and relaxing, definitely a surf village. I will for sure stay here when I come back to Bali. It was an amazing experience!

We had a great week in the tree house. It is all even prettier than the pictures. All facilities are present, especially the beautiful garden with pool and super comfy bed were standing out. Made takes care of the place and helped us with arranging massages at the house, renting scooters etc. The location is close to the beach, you can see it from the veranda. It's nice and quiet, gecko and bird noises all around. Balian beach is a very nice surfing villager, no touristic things around, the way we like it. I would recommend it to anyone!

This place was absolutely amazing. The location is very quiet but so beautiful and relaxing! There were quite a few restaurants and bars to check out (although we went to Tekor Bali everyday which I definitely recommend). The place looks exactly like the pictures, and Made cut down coconuts everyday for us to enjoy by the pool. Couldn't recommend this place enough, if you're going to Bali, you should definitely put this place on your list. Even if to stay for a few nights then head to somewhere busier like Seminyak (which is what we did).

We were met at the airport by Gusti who enthusiastically told us about the places we passed and provided us with helpful information. We were then met by Made who was gentle and kind and available throughout our stay and always asked us if there was anything we needed.

You've heard of paradise - well this is it! We were met at the airport by the Treehouse's driver, and brought to the most peaceful, relaxing, private, clean retreat you could imagine. Made, with his awesome smile, met us and made us feel instantly at home. He not only completely tended to all our needs, but the beautiful grounds as well - he's a keeper! Just a 3 min. walk to the ocean side - great surfing, and also to tasty and friendly cafes. We had couple massages (thank you sooooo much) right at the treehouse. Could not have asked for anything more. Perfect place to chill out. Loved all the artistic details in the treehouse and around the grounds.

The pictures although amazing do not do this little slice of heaven justice. It's truly beautiful. Made was amazing, from arranging a driver for us to climbing the coconut tree to get us fresh coconuts to drink from. The area is so peaceful and beautiful, eating out is reasonably priced we loved the Tekor Bali (which is the nearest) We ended up there for breakfast and dinner on more than one occasion. If you pop in say hi from Andrew and Laura (they are so friendly). If you hire a Scooter, be warned getting it up the stone pathway is slightly hazardous, properly best to leave it at the bottom (lesson learnt). I can't recommend this place enough, we ended up cancelling a couple of day trips we had planned to we could just enjoy this little slice of heaven.

We had an absolutely wonderful couple of nights staying here, it's both close to Balian beach yet feels secluded and peaceful for relaxing by the pool in the evening. We hope to return again sometime!

We LOVE this home!! So close to the beach and restaurants but you'll want to spend as much time enjoying the treehouse as possible! Made was so helpful during our arrival and stay and even arranged a scooter for us and cut us down coconuts to drink from the backyard! He and his wife clean the house spotless everyday and his English is fantastic even though he just started learning. 3 nights were not enough, we will hopefully be back again soon! Wow! Our stay at the balian tree house was simply wonderful. The house and the garden with pool are very beautiful. Made, the manager and gardener came everyday to clean the whole property. He even climed on a palmtree and picked a coconut for us to serve it right at the pool. Like heaven. He was very friendly and helpful and so were the owners as well. We very much recommend to visit this place which was just like paradise for us. Balian is also a quite and unique place.

The Balian Treehouse is een super romantisch huis op sprookjesachtige locatie. De tuin wordt liefdevol bijgehouden door Made die nooit storend aanwezig is. Maar als je het wilt, dan regelt hij alles voor je. Motorbikes, massages of een taxi, geen probleem. En elke dag verse papaya uit de tuin of een kokosnoot. Overdag is het heerlijk in het zwembad, 's avonds als de lichtjes in de tuin aan gaan wordt het helemaal een sprookje! Wij brachten de avonden door op het balkon waar een heerlijke loungebank staat. Met een koude Bintang uit de koelkast.... Wat een rust! Het huis is misschien niet het meest luxe wat er bestaat, maar het is schoon en heel sfeervol met een heerlijk bed. Voor ons perfect. Balian is een super relaxte plek, geen massatoerisme, fijne restaurantjes en een nightmarket met eettentjes waar je voor heel weing geld heerlijk kunt eten. Dus als je echt iets bijzonders wilt, ga dan naar Balian Treehouse,. Dank jullie wel voor de gastvrijheid, Myriam en Made!

We loved our stay at Balian Tree house! It's even more beautiful than the photos, so serene and relaxing. It's a short walk to wonderful restaurants. Made and Gusti (who drove us from the airport) were so kind and welcoming, and willing to help with any small request. We loved our time here and would absolutely return!

What can we say! What an amazing holiday it was such a pleasure to spend 9 nights at this beautiful tree house. We were greeted at the airport by Gusti who was extremely knowledgable about Bali and was happy to take us out later in our holiday to Sangeh Monkey Temple, Tepenungen waterfall and Canguu beach. We arrived at night and woke up to the most beautiful peaceful and private garden. It is only a short walk to the beautiful surfers beach for breakfast / dinner and you can even use the phone in the treehouse to order takeaway! We were made to feel so welcome by Made who looks after the garden and the treehouse as well as his family who came to celebrate my birthday with us! We were genuinely taken back by the hospitality of the Balian people! Made couldn't have been more helpful and such fun! We loved having fresh cocunut from a tree in the garden most days! Finally, we had a dog called Molly who stayed us for the duration of our stay sleeping outside the treehouse and walking with us down the beach every morning for breakfast!! We would highly recommend the treehouse to anyone who wants a peaceful and private holiday or someone who just wants something different. We will definitely try to make our way back for a visit in the future! Overall, the holiday of a life time!!!

Made was a super nice host. Even though we arrived at 11 pm, he was so kind to come pick us up from the road. The house was exceptionally beautiful and everywhere was tastefully designed and decorated with handcrafted woodwork. The pool was amazing! The pictures are accurate, but when you're in it, it's got a more wonderful feel to it. Everywhere was clean. Definitely recommended! Thanks Made!

Made was an absolutely fantastic host and we had a lovely time during our stay. Beach and several restaurants are walking distance from the villa. Beautiful pool and upstairs balcony area as well. We were able to take yoga classes at a nearby resort by the beach too. Made was so kind and humble. He cleaned our room everyday and was available anytime that we needed him. He even climbed a tree to get us coconuts while we were in the pool! He arranged transportation from the airport and to our next location on Bali too. We truly loved our stay here.

We loved our stay at Balian Treehouse - We had the pleasure of meeting not just Made the wonderful manager, but also the lovely owners Miriam and Mario. All of them were extremely accommodating, helped us with our transfers to and from (our driver, Gusti, was also great!) and arranged the best massage we have EVER had - no exaggeration. Aside from the great people the place was as great (if note greater) as you see in the photos. Miriam gave us the full story of what they'd built if from etc. and they've done such a lovely job with the place. Very authentic-feeling but really comfortable and in beautifully relaxing surrounds. We loved it and really hope to go back.

If you are worried that the perfect pictures of the Balian Tree House are an oversell, don’t be. No pictures can do the beauty justice. The homestay was double the price of what my boyfriend and I usually pay in Bali, but several times as enjoyable. Made, the manager is helpful and a pleasure to speak with. We were able to check out the new Glass House as well (you can find this posting on Made’s AirBnB page). It’s similar to the Tree House, but the best place to relax and lounge is downstairs instead of upstairs. The Glass House’s kitchen is outdoors which gives it more of a bar feel than the Tree House. I would highly recommend either place.

We had an incredible time at Made's place. It is soooo beautiful- even better than the pictures! It reminded us of Alice in Wonderland! It was peaceful and quiet, and Made went out of his way to make us feel right at home straight away. He even climbed a coconut tree for us to have coconuts! He also brought us bananas from his family's tree. These little additions made it very special. It is really close to Balian beach, we could walk every day. And the A/C at night made it heavenly to sleep in. We decided to stay an extra night in the new "glass house", which we found even cooler! Thank you so much- we are already planning when our next visit will be!

Made was communicative, kind, and welcoming. His treehouse is beautiful and the perfect retreat for someone looking for alone time or a couple looking to spend quality time together. As a solo traveler, I appreciated that Made came to work on the gardens every day and helped check-in on me. He also arranged transport to bring me to and from the Treehouse from my other accommodations with a very friendly driver, Gusti. While the Treehouse doesn't come with breakfast, the kitchen is well stocked - I had fun making my own version of gado-gado! Very highly recommend Made and his Treehouse!

The accommodation was in lovey condition and my wife and I found it the perfect place for a relaxing beach holiday. The massages were great and a relatively cheap price. Highly recommended.

The mushroom villa is an amazing place to stay! Its like being on retreat! Your own luscious hideaway with gorgeous views just a few minutes walk from the beach. Balian is such a peaceful little area, the surf is great and the food is wonderful. Really ticks all the holiday boxes. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway far from the touristy hustle and bustle of Bali's main towns then this is what you are looking for! the villa itself has everything you need; from AC, pool, stove, fridge, DVD player to a lovely upstairs daybed where you can watch the sunrise. The caretaker, Made and his wife are such lovely people and will help you with any request, right down to collecting and cracking open a fresh coconut for you to drink! Unfortunately I got sick at the end of our stay, however both Made and the owner Mario were so helpful and caring, making all sorts of generous offers to assist me and my boyfriend. They really went above and beyond and I cant recommend this place enough! We loved it and will definitely be back!

Der perfekte Ort! Die Mushroom Villa liegt ein bisschen außerhalb von dem kleinen Surfer Spot unten am Strand (ca. 5 min. zu Fuß). Der wirklich traumhafte Garten und der klasse Pool laden zum relaxen ein. Vom pick up am Flughafen bis zur Abreise hat wirklich alles super geklappt. Made ist der Housemanager und hat sich wirklich perfekt um uns und unsere Anliegen gekümmert, nochmal vielen Dank für alles! Miryam ist die Besitzerin und war immer super per Mail oder Telefon erreichbar. Wenn wir nochmal nach Bali kommen, dann auf jeden Fall ins Treehouse!

The place was absolutely stunning, it was like staying in paradise for a couple of days. Would really recommend!

We enjoyed our stay. Balinese Beach is a an excellent place to just kick back, relax and get off the grid. It's a surfers town, so the vibe is relaxed and the local people are just outstanding. Very welcoming and kind. Made was great, setting us up with an excellent masseuse for a massage on the top veranda and cutting fresh coconuts for us from the trees on the property. Gusti, who works with the host, picked us up at our hotel in Ubud and was fantastic. The house works great for two people and the pool is an incredible treat on a hot day. It rained the night before we arrived, and the dirt roads leading to the treehouse were muddy and impassable by car, so we and Gusti trekked our bags to the house. We arrived to find Made waiting for us and he a gave us a quick tour of the home. Made and two other men were working on an addition next door, so they were close by if we needed him. There is a book inside which has notes from the host and tips on how on the house works and how to locate the power box. I didn't read the part about how the power may shut off if you have the AC and shower on at the same time as the pool motor is running. The power cut out when I was in the shower but it was quickly fixed when I went behind the house to flip the switch back on. When we were there, there were two small construction projects going on simultaneously, one in an adjacent lot and the one next to the house, but they weren't loud enough to interfere with our stay. The host left a note saying the price was reduced due to the ongoing work. Our favorite place in the home was the top veranda, which has an outdoor speaker and a disc of CD's, we spent the first night listening to classical music as the sun set. There is also the great quality of surrounding restaurants, and the one closest to the home, next to the coffee stand, was excellent. Be sure to bring your mosquito spray and good shoes for walking through the dirt paths and get ready to relax!

My stay at Bali beachhouse was excellent. Madi and his wife were very helpful with any questions. Great place only 5 minutes from the beach to surf and chill. The place itself is very Nice with a clean swimming pool, would recommend, thanks again!

Great place to stay! Beautiful house. Only downside was an uninvited guest (one big gecko) but we kicked him out pretty quickly!

Gusti picked us up at the airport (1am) and drives us to the mushroom villa! The villa and the garden are super nice as the pictures show! If you are a surfer Balian beach (5 minutes walking) can offer you nice waves. If you are not you can enjoy the restaurants on the beach with good local and western food. Putu during my stay was sick so I had to do some small cleaning but was not a problem. I really suggest this place to who wants to relax and enjoy the nature. Miryam was really supportive and Gusti drived us during all our stay in Bali (Ubud and Pecatu) with a fair price package. Thank you!

My partner Simon and i stayed at the Balian Tree House for 5 days and the photos and description exceeded our already high expectations. The spacious tree house is nestled in between to farms in a quiet area in Balian only 5-10 mins from Balian Beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and was warmly welcomed by the lovely Putu who was very helpful and a genuinely nice person. This was the first stop on our first ever trip to Bali and the bar was set incredibly high. Thank you for allowing us to experience Balian in your gorgeous property it was truly memorable!

We had a wonderful stay in the mushroom villa. The villa and the garden with the pool are amazing. It's exactly as nice as on the pictures. We spent a lot of the time at the pool and walking on the beach. There are really nice restaurants around with very friendly staff but most of the time we ate at pondok pitaya. After a day in crowdy Kuta it was like coming home to the nice balian with the great nature. Putu the houskeeper is very friendly and helped us whenever needed. She arranged us a driver and massages. She comes everyday to clean the house but is also reachable by phone. It was the best place we could imagine to spend 2 weeks full of relaxing, expiriencing new things and good food. I can recommend it to everyone who want to feel like in paradise.

The mushroom villa is a wonderfull place for relaxation. the garden is really beutiful and there are coconut, papaya and some kind of maracuja you can eat direktly from it. also there are many possibilitys to lay down in the sun or shadow and just enjoy the day. the pool is really awesome and looks amazing especially in the nighttime. the house is very nice aswell. only the kitchen is a bit small, but its better to get food in the nice restaurants or one of the plenty warungs anyways. we totally enjoyed our time and would recommend this plays to everyone who want to take some quiet time in paradise.

The house is magical! Everything was clean and identical to the photos. Miryam herself was easy to contact and so helpful when we did! She arranged for Gusti, a local cab driver, to pick us from the airport. He gave us a lot of great advice about the area and even took us around the city one day! The restaurants are within walking distance and all have really helpful, friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for anyone in the area :)

Our experience at the Balian Treehouse was wonderful! Exactly as shown in the pictures. Putu was so incredibly friendly and accommodating. She was able to set us up with a motorbike as well as a poolside couples massage on the property. I think it should be noted that Putu is not the owner, nor the person who you are communicating with through AirBnB. That was a bit confusing for me at first. Miryam is the owner who you will likely not meet since she does not live in Balian Beach. The view from the balcony is breathtaking, and the perfect way to start your morning as you sip on coffee and eat the breakfast that you cooked in the kitchen downstairs. The kitchen comes with all the basic necessities which is a really nice thing to have a home-cooked meal while traveling. There were definitely geckos living in the treehouse who we thought of as our Balian pets, along with Molly the dog who would come on to the property and sleep in the poolside bungalow at night. The night market is a must, and walking distance from the treehouse. You can get a great, authentic meal for so cheap! I ate at the noodle soup stand which came out to only 79 cents USD!! As for the rest..of course, the beach is beautiful, Tom's Garden cafe has a GREAT squid satay, and the Pondok Pitaya has a wonderful setup for a daily yoga class with an ocean view. The treehouse was one of our favorite memories of Bali & I would recommend this place to any of my friends. Thank you to Putu and Miryam!!

Putu was a fantastic host and the treehouse is paradise! Super friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. She is close by too, and quick to resolve any issues that may arrive. She helped coordinate massages for us with Elou- in our three weeks of travel in Thailand and Bali, hands down the best massage! So we had her come back again :) Wayan is great too if you want to do a little tour or day trip- we went to Ubud. We spent four peaceful days at the Balian Treehouse. Everything was just as beautiful if not more than what is pictured. The neighborhood was filled with locals, with an area near the beach geared toward travelers (mostly surfers). You really feel like you're getting an authentic experience without missing things you are used to. Walk 5 minutes and you're at the black sand beach, where there are plenty of happening places to eat- lots of healthy options too! The area seems to be developing (people realized what a gem Balian is) so I recommend going now!

This is paradise! I cried when we had to leave this house and it's beautiful view and grounds, the village and most importantly the people that made our stay so memorable. Putu is a fabulous host. She included us in a temple ceremony that we longed to see. It was so special to be apart of the village and to hear the traditional Balinese music. The area is serene, quite and quaint. There are very few places to eat and drink but they all have something special about them. The pool is fantastic and the tree house is everything you would expect for a simple life. We were able to explore many of the beaches with help from our friend Solti, a sweet puppy who adopted us for our stay. The sunsets were breath taking. Make sure you have a daily massage with Elou. She came to the house and made each morning a treat. Also Ilou, is quite a fantastic hostess at the restaurant Mai Malu. She always remembered our name and greeted us with friendship and love. We will never forget our stay at the mushroom villa and we are determined to visit again. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

We had a wonderful, peacefull time at the mushroom villa. Everything was perfect, we missed nothing! The House is so nice and beautiful. Decorated from the heart. The pool is amazing and the whole area flashed us away! It was nothing to be faulted!!! Putu helped us when we needed a motorbike or a car, she is very friendly and diligently! We met Mario once, he was a very friendly, kindhearted and responsive person. The village is small, but we got everything what we needed in the small supermarket. There are a few nice small restaurants . The house is situated in a surfers paradise, the beachview from dekis warung is amazing. We wont to thank for everything, for hosting us friendly. Back home again we still have this wonderfull place in our mind and feeling. We spent a purely relaxing week in Balian, preparing a nice breakfast every morning, swimming and plashing in the pool, having two great massages, reading at the balcony and watching what's going on in the surrounding. I have to say how impressed I was with the the host Miryam, the house and its location, and the help from Putu during our stay. Both Miryam and Putu went out of their way to ensure we had the best stay possible - always available to help and taking care of things like scooter hire and providing excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities. The house itself is a gem - we wish it was ours. The location is perfect, quiet and just a short 5 min walk to the beach and restaurants. Thank you for allowing us into your paradise! Unser Aufenthalt in der "Mushroom-Villa" war ein Traum. Ruhig, idyllisch, ein liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus mit atemberaubenden Blick aus der oberen Etage! Der Pool sorgt bei Sonnenschein für eine angenehme Erfrischung. Die Restaurants und ein Supermarkt sind in 5 min Fußmarsch erreichbar. Miryam, Mario und Putu haben uns jederzeit mit hilfreichen Tipps unterstützt und waren sehr herzliche, liebevolle Gastgeber! Eine entspannte Atmosphäre mit traumhafter Aussicht, Pool, Massagen im Haus, leckeres balinesisches Essen, zwei spannende Tagesauflüge... Wir kommen gerne wieder! Danke Miryam und Putu!

It was absolutely amazing! Even better than the pictures. The view over the palm trees an the ocean, the garden with the pool, the upper dek and six different places to relax. Balian beach itself is also very nice. We ate out every day at the beach at Pondok Pitaya or Toms cafe. Would definitely recommend it if you just want to relax in a small village.

Traveling to another country can be unpredictable...Miryam took the guess work out of it. Showing up to the airport with Gusti (the driver) holding a sign with our names on it was the start to a wonderful stay. His knowledge of the island and its history was very helpful and welcoming as we had asked him many questions as we made our way to the Villa. Balian Beach (and Bali in general) boasted the happiest of people, great traditional food options (with Western options available) very good prices, plenty of beaches, sunsets and great energy. As for Miryam's place...we couldn't have asked for anything better. Off the beaten path, yet close to everything. The staff was able to help as needed. It was very comfortable. With the wonderful pool, options for napping (6 in all just on her property), close proximity to the beach and a number of eating establishments and local markets...our recurring question was, "What do we do next; relax, swim or eat?" To add to the excitement and experience, we were given the opportunity to attend a traditional Hindu celebration of a neighbor! Don't forget to explore the area bit... a well hidden trail along the river from the beach to the main road was fun and a remote swimming spot on the beach to the south and west accessible by stairway boasted a large carved fish in the stone cliffs that surrounded it and gave us an option for swimming and sunbathing with no one else around! A massage at the tip of a cliff at Gajah Mina is another must. All in all, the energy was inviting, warm and very positive. Arrive with high expectations and prepare to be utterly satisfied. Arrive with no expectations, and prepare to be swept away!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Miryams Mushroom Villa. Die Villa ist super ausgestattet und hat alles, was man während seines Urlaubes benötigt, um ihn bis zum Maximum zu genießen. Tolle Aussicht, mehrere Relax-Zonen und einen super Pool. Unten ist das Schlafzimmer sowie die Küche und das Bad, oben hat man eine wunderbare Aussicht inklusive Wohnzimmer. Das Haus ist schön & geschmackvoll eingerichtet und man merkt, dass dort Liebe drin steckt. Auch ist eine tolle Musiksammlung zu finden, die uns Jimi Hendrix und einige andere Interpreten näher gebracht haben. Super! Da es keine richtige Adresse für die Villa gibt, hat uns Yeyen (eine Bekannte von Miryam) abgeholt, unseren Fahrer zur Villa geführt und uns die Wohnung gezeigt. Ein Supermarkt, einige Restaurants sowie der Strand sind in wenigen Gehminuten zu erreichen. Die Umgebung scheint das ursprüngliche Bali zu sein, was sehr schön und interessant war. Schnell jetzt noch hin, bevor hier auch der Tourismus ankommt. Obwohl wir Miryam nicht direkt getroffen haben, war sie immer erreichbar und eine sehr liebevolle Gastgeberin. Sie hat uns bei Fragen immer geholfen. Insgesamt können wir die Unterkunft zu 100% weiterempfehlen.

Miryam, Mario and Putu and the Mushroom Villa TreeHouse are pure magic. Our hearts and souls feel pure and full after immersing ourselves onto this land, their home and the lovely village of Balian Beach. Every single thing lived up to Miryam's perfect description of their home built with nothing but love, the land is nothing short of exquisite (Mother Nature has truly blessed this land!) and every single person in the village was magic incarnated, kind, loving, and truly left a huge impression on our hearts and souls. There is nothing we do not love about vacationing here (actually living here for 10 days)... especially the sacred Bali dogs, the magic of the Moon, the perfect waves my man got to surf (only a 3 minute stroll away, including sweet + smiling mama and baby cows, awww!) and the authentic generosity and blessings bestowed upon us by our hosts and villagers that we are happy and proud to now call our FRIENDS. Our hearts are full with abundance, clarity, and peace. The Balian TreeHouse (and oh that magical oasis pool- best pool I've ever swam, floated, did handstands, meditated in- in my entire life, for reals!) truly helped us to "reset and renew" our spirits and souls. And the beach itself was just as healing (perfect for yoga and truly "finding yourself" in the sacred coves, wow) We cannot imagine spending our vacation in Bali anywhere else, ever again. Truth. Our love and light has been lit again by the warmth and love of Bali- Miryam, Mario, Putu and the beautiful community of Balian Beach. It is a little hard to find, but once you find it it is a little slice of heaven! Situated on a hill with nice views of the surroundings. Balean beach is only a short walk away and when you get there you'll find an amazing surfspot surrounded by laid back restaurants and beach bars. The house itself is small and cozy, but you'll spend most time chilling on the porch or in the amazing pool. The house gecko is very friendly and keeps the insects at bay. Putu is an excellent guid and he can arrange some of the best massages you can find on Bali.

We had great experience at Miryam's villa. The location is very quiet, far from crowded places, at the same time with few nice restaurants along the seaside. The set-up is amazing-authentic villa with a pool and terrace, with a feel of complete privacy. The host is very helpful and smooth in communication. Highly recommended for a few-day relaxation or surfing.

Wow where do I start to describe our experience. From the moment Gusti picked us up in the taxi until the moment we left it was perfect. The house is amazing, it has everything you need for a relaxing holiday and is situated in a perfect location. It takes about 3 minutes to walk to the beach but the house it is far enough away that you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. And when we felt too lazy to go to the beach we just relaxed at the pool. Putu went to so much effort to make us feel welcome and anything we needed he arranged straight away. He organised for us to have massages at the house, he arranged a scooter for us and took us on a day trip which turned out to be the highlight of our trip. He took us to a viewpoint where you can see rice fields for miles, very beautiful. Then he brought us to a monkey temple which looked like something out of Indiana Jones haha after the temple he brought us to a beautiful waterfall and on the way home we dropped into a temple that is a batcave, all in all a truly wonderful experience. I highly recommend staying here. Miryam and Putu are the perfect hosts. We are definitely going to stay here again.

We stayed in the mushroom villa for 5 nights and enjoyed every moment of it. We were the first to rent the place after they had installed the pool and they were not 100% finished around the pool, but it didn't really matter. Balian is a great place, and we loved that the villa was a little bit secluded. Go there now, before more houses pop up! Btw, you shouldn't mind some insects or a random cow or rooster stopping by the garden. Putu, the housekeeper, was very nice and helpful!

Balian was a perfect retreat for us with its laid back atmosphere and relaxed pace. The quaint Balian treehouse by Miryam completed the experience. We fell in love with the mushroom villa when we reached the place in late afternoon. Such a lovely place! The first floor was the bedroom with a comfortable bed and a kitchenette which was handy to whip up a simple meal (we cooked instant noodles when we were too lazy to step out of the villa). We had the air con switched on at night when we shut all the windows to keep the bugs out (understand they are attracted to lights), which kept the room cool and nice to sleep in. The upper deck had a really high ceiling that gave it a liberating spacious feel. We particularly loved the comfy seaters out on the balcony where one of it could either seat two to three people comfortably or double up as a cozy bed. This, in fact, was our favourite spot where we would sit for hours from morning till evening, reading a book or surfing away on our tablets (yup, wifi is available in the villa), and at the same time soaking in what nature offered us.. sights of dogs, cows and chickens, and coconut trees that lined the landscape and set against the backdrop of the sea; sound of the animals and rustling of leaves; and the breeze that brushed our skin softly. When night fell, we would be down to watch the DVDs that were aplenty in the house. The villa is secluded but not isolated. It was an easy five to ten minutes walk to the beach where the restaurants and cafes were. Whilst we did not have the chance to meet Miryam in person, she made arrangement to welcome us with chilled coconuts on our day of arrival :) And her housekeeper, Putu (who doesn't stay in the house), was a call away from the handset that was made available in the villa; and he appeared in his motorbike within minutes when we need his assistance. This was our first trip to Bali. It was both a unique and memorable holiday for us, and our stay in this lovely villa contributed a big part in our memories of this trip.

We were in need of some serious relaxation, and boy was this the right place! It's located in a small village, which is just big enough to have a couple of tiny restaurants and some convenience stores, Miryam's house is located on a hillside and is a five minute walk from the beach and its shops. Being five minutes away makes the house even more secluded. You can spend evenings on the open-air upper deck, and hear nothing but chirps. Sometimes a cow passes by, or some chickens run around on the property. It gets really wild when Molly the dog protects the land by barking at these animals ;) The village inhabitants, human and non-human, seem to share a gene which makes them super of friendly and relaxed. Miryam is a superb host. Although she had other plans, she wanted to greet us, and decided to wait, despite our delayed arrival. Everything you need is in the house, ready for you to use. Putu always came through when we needed him.

Had a great stay in this funky mushroom villa!! Perfect location near the beach. Balian is a quiet area that really feels like "old" Bali and takes your breath away. Miryam was great about recommending restaurants and organising transport for us. The apartment has has everything you need, however there is a lot of insects so bring some good insect repellant.

To spend some days in Miryam house was amazing! The "mushroom villa" is really a special and magical place, the house is really confortable with a great view from the balcony and you can feel the nature around you. We'll really miss it!!

This treehouse truly was amazing. I ended up booking last minute and Miryam was fast to respond and work things out so it was possible to book it for the dates I wanted. The house and property itself was just as beautiful as it looked in the pictures. We really liked the laid back atmosphere of Balian Beach, and overall loved our stay here!

Brilliant house, beautifully located among a lot of different trees and grass. There are some other houses nearby, but the only close neighbors we encountered were the mellow cows walking and eating the grass around the house. If you are a surfer this is a great spot to surf (I guess since there were quite some in the sea), if you are not (like me and my girlfriend) this area is still a very nice area to simply hang out on the balcony, enjoy the calm nature and the sound of a wild sea. The house has everything we could wish for, very large bed, airco, hot shower, balcony and multiple couches. You could cook, but there are plenty nice and cheap places to eat around and some deliver to your doorstep.
