Exploring Gayo at Rumah Semanggi - jungle view room left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.
The virtual preview of Gayo at Rumah Semanggi - jungle view room was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Penestanan Kaja plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.
I found the tour for Gayo at Rumah Semanggi - jungle view room painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.
Unser Aufenthalt bei Summa war leider eine Katastrophe.Wir hatten sechs Nächte gebucht, mussten das Appartement jedoch nach der zweiten Nacht verlassen. Bereits beim Einchecken war das Zimmer extrem feucht und es roch sehr modrig. Anfangs dachten wir, es sei nicht so schlimm. Nachdem wir beide jedoch aufgrund von Atemproblemen zwei Nächte nicht schlafen konnten, schauten wir uns die Einrichtung genauer an. Wir stellten fest, dass das Zimmer voller Schimmel ist. Die Kopfkissen, die Matratze, das Holzbett und auch die Wände sind voller schwarzer Flecken. Als wir dies realisierten, entschieden wir uns auszuchecken. Wir haben uns daraufhin an den Airbnb Support gewendet. Schimmel in diesem Ausmaß ist extrem gesundheitsschädlich. AirBnb hat uns das ganze Geld zurückerstattet. Unser Fazit: Es ist unglaublich, dass diese Zimmer noch vermietet werden. Es besteht hier dringender Handlungsbedarf!
Je laisse rarement d’avis négatif, mais je dois avouer que j’ai été très déçue du logement et de l’accueil. L’environnement est magnifique, la dessus rien à dire. Mais la chambre etait très humide, sombre, les draps sentaient mauvais et les serviettes de bain données sentaient l’humidité. La moustiquaire plein de poussière, bref je sais que pour le prix on ne peut pas demander beaucoup plus, mais un petit coup de neuf et d’entretien ne serait pas de trop ! Le staff sur place ne gère pas les problèmes, et vous renvoie vers la propriétaire a chaque fois.
Summa and her husband Roberto are lovely hosts. The surroundings were beautiful. Unfortunately, the room did not meet my expectations as there was no river view from room.
The place is beautiful, it is located in a rice field and only the road is a dream. The hotel is very beautiful, it has a lot of vegetation and the 3 meter pool is especially appreciated because the heat is intense in Ubud. I stayed in the Gayo room, and I loved it, it's clean and fresh. Now, having paid 30 days, I only stayed 10 because the issue of bugs overwhelmed me, there was a nest of ants near the bed, lizards constantly entered the room, and there is a beehive right on the stone monument that there is outside the room and one early morning with doors and windows closed, 6 bees entered my room and stuck to the mosquito net, which was too much for me because I am afraid of them. But if you are used to it, book without problems! the price-quality ratio is very good. Regards Summa and Roberto
The homestay is called Rumah Semanggi. Dutch built, now run by an Aussie/Indo couple. Nice area, a good walk into Ubud. Lovely pool area. Gayo room is a bit subterranean in feeling being set back into a slope. A simple breakfast is 35k extra.
We have stayed in Ijen, Kubu and Gayo three rooms with my aunties and Mom. They loved this place, as it is so similar as the environment they grew up with. They can see Big black ants climbing on the wall, some of them are on the mosquito net and they get so excited as they cannot find those nowadays in the modern urban city. They somehow Catched full bag of ants and cooked the family ants omelettes for the first day we are in Jimbaran. The rooms can be different as the pictures. The face basin cannot wash face because the tap is kitchen tap, face won’t be able on top of basin. If you don’t mind with flying ants and big black ants around the bedside area. This is definitely a great place for you. When we arrived, the host Summon is not in Bali, and was in Australia, the communication with the host or acting host is hard due to the time difference. Not much help if you need anything after 6pm. There is no “private area, no entry” sign, so don’t walk around you will be told off.
Summa byla velmi milá a ochotná, zodpovídala naše dotazy, pomohla nám najít prádelnu. Jediný nedostatek, za což hostitel nemůže, byla extrémní vlhkost, měli jsme vlhkou přikrývku (přehoz přes postel) naštěstí deka pod tím byla docela suchá. Oblečení nám vůbec neuschlo, naopak vše co jsme nedali do igelitového pytlíku, bylo hrozně vlhké. Takže i méně příjemný spánek.
Summa ist eine tolle Gastgeberin, die jederzeit zur Verfügung steht! Das Air BnB hat einen tollen Pool ist jedoch nur zu Fuß und Roller zu erreichen. Ich empfehle die Unterkunft nur für Naturliebhaber, da es sehr viel Tiere gibt.
Alles in einem ein toller Ort zum Entspannen. Man hat viele Reisfelder um sich herum und das macht das ganze so authentisch. Die Unterkunft selber ist klein aber fein eingerichtet. Die Dusche ist halb offen, für den einen oder anderen eventuell wichtig. Uns hat es nicht gestört. Der Zimmerservice kam täglich und auf Nachfrage hat man immer neue Handtücher bekommen. Restaurants und Warungs sind fussläufig erreichbar. Wenn man ein Freund von Natur und Ruhe ist, ist es die perfekte Unterkunft.
Our stay at Summa‘s guesthouse was quite nice. Summa and Roberto are really nice, friendly and helpful. They had great recommendations for restaurants near by for example. The room was fine, it just showed a little bit signs of aging. But it was clean. The shower has cold and hot water. You have a beautiful view into the garden and the pool is a good place to relax and to cool down. The rice fields close to the house are wonderful. It is a quite place and their dog is really lovely.
Estoy muy contenta con esta estancia..Summa y su esposo son un encanto. Mi inglés no es el mejor y a pesar de ello buscaban la manera de ayudarnos. La habitación era como las fotos y la descripción de cómo llegar es clara de parte de Summa. Para ir a Ubud en moto te mueves fácilmente. Acceso al alojamiento no se puede con coche pero puedes solicitar ayuda para tu transporte y con tu equipaje. Así que si o si moto que también puedes alquilar en el alojamiento. La única pega sería que el baño tenía parte del techo abierta y en las noches tenía miedo de encontrarme algún bicho grande. Así que para eso hay que estar preparados.
I had a great stay with Summa and Roberto. They are kind people who ensure everything you need is taken care of. I stayed here for one month in total. I travelled back to Pererenan/Canggu quite a bit because of my social connections. Contact with other people who lived on the property was limited, a daily need for me. If you are looking for peace and quiet this place is amazing and the area is super relaxed.
Great location, beautiful and quiet! I recommend going for an early morning walk to the left on the path right in front of the location. It’s lovely :)

Un gîte tres bien placé qui permet de se reposer dans un endroit de qualité et entouré d une nature luxuriante. L hote repond tres rapidement aux demandes et fait de son mieux pour que votre sejour soit parfait et c est ce que nous avons vécu alors un grand merci.
The Airbnb was even more beautiful than in the pictures. Our outside view of the bedroom was into pretty nature. The pool was also one of our highlights. The Airbnb is in the middle of rice fields so you can escape busy Ubud. The cleaning service did a good job as well. The communication with Summa was excellent, fast replies and also a lot of recommendations for the area. Absolutely worth the price, we would love to come back if we’re staying in Bali again. 🥰

I’ve had an amazing stay!! It’s so peaceful here, I felt right at home! The rooms get cleaned daily, and staff are very friendly. It’s close to Ubud center, a couple minutes ride with a scooter. The place itself is the perfect escape if you need quiet & peace to recharge your batteries. There are lots of beautiful plants and animals also, like dragonflies, bees, geckos, fireflies, etc.) I really felt like I could connect with nature again 🌸🦋 (if you are scared of insects, this place is probably not for you) Thanks so much for having me, and I will definitely visit again! ☀️

Third booking: My favorite stay in Bali ✨ A perfect place to connect with nature, recharge, escape the busy side of Ubud but still maintain a close proximity. The hosts are absolutely wonderful and the staff are helpful and kind! I enjoy my stays at Rumah Semanggi so much. The rooms are lovely, with beautiful views of native plants in a jungle like environment. The pool is lovely and where I spent a lot of time. About 10 minutes drive to the center of Ubud with minimal traffic. A 25 minute walk to the outskirts of the city! Will return again and again!
This place is truly exceptional if you’re looking for peace and relaxation. The accommodation is surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens and located right in the middle of rice fields, so you feel completely away from the noise of the outside world. The atmosphere is extremely calm and relaxing – perfect for anyone who wants to truly unwind. The hosts clearly care about maintaining a quiet and peaceful environment, which makes it an ideal place for rest. Another big highlight is the great swimming pool, where you can cool off while enjoying the surrounding nature. Overall, it’s a place where you can really clear your mind and recharge.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. Summa und ihr Mann, Roberto, sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ihr Anwesen ist wie ein kleines Dschungel Paradies, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Wir haben sogar nochmal eine Nacht verlängert, weil wir es so schön fanden :)
I was looking for a refuge. A quiet place to reset, relax and restore. I found it here and enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay. The grounds are beautiful, the staff are beautiful, the owner is beautiful. Easy to communicate with and I would stay here again. Highly recommend.
Really enjoyed my stay here, close enough to Ubud center but not too close to where it’s noisy. The property was excellent exactly what O was looking for and all the staff were extremely kind and helpful, would definitely recommend staying here

Summa ist total nett und hilfsbereit! Das Zimmer ist simpel und sauber, preis-Leistung ist top! Die Unterkunft ist nett gelegen, bisschen außerhalb vom Trubel der Stadt, trotzdem kann man innerhalb von 20 Minuten nach Ubud rein laufen und es gibt fußläufig auch einige nette Cafés und warungs

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour chez Summa et Roberto qui ont été très gentils et accueillants, le logement est magnifique et situé à côté de très bon warung; c’est facile d’accès en scooter et pas très loin a pieds des points d’intérêt de Ubud.

Super liebe Gastgeberin, ruhige Lage. Am besten Fahrer oder Roller mieten, weil zu fuß dauert es ne Weile, bis man zur straße kommt. Mit dem Roller geht das ganz schnell

Had an amazing stay! Beautiful surroundings. The pool was amazing. The host was lovely and easy to talk too. The location is a 2 minute walk away from the Rice Paddy Walk, and I explored every day during my stay at the many amazing restaurants like Paddy’s Point and even more so along the walk. The place is a paradise.

Der Aufenthalt war sehr schön, als Alleinreisender vielleicht nicht das ideale, weil es ein Rückzugsort sein soll. Dafür ist dieser Ort aber perfekt, es gibt schöne Spazierrouten in der Nähe und falls man doch was größeres Unternehmen möchte kann man sich ein Grab bestellen. Die obere Bettdecke war etwas feucht bei der Ankunft, was aber weiterhin nicht schlimm war. Klimaanlage und Ventilator waren leider sehr laut und man konnte leider nur den Ventilator ausstellen. Sonst bin ich sehr zufrieden, die Gastgeberin und ihr Mann, sowie das komplette Personal sind alle sehr höflich und helfen bei wirklich allem. Ich hatte zum Beispiel eine Lebensmittelvergiftung am dritten Tag und hier wurde mir mit Tipps und auch schnell Medikamenten zu einer schnellen Genesung verholfen. Ich würde diese Unterkunft definitiv nochmal buchen! Vielen Dank für den Aufenthalt!!

C’était vraiment super ! La chambre est très bien, seul petit bémol c’est l’humidité dans la chambre, et le premier jour j’avais des flaques d’eau sur le côté gauche de ma chambre (personnellement ça ne m’a pas du tout dérangé, nous sommes dans un environnement tropical, et surtout en saison des pluies !) Le coin piscine est vraiment incroyable ! C’est un endroit calme, autour c’est vraiment joli. J’ai adoré cet endroit et je n’hésiterai pas à revenir ! Au niveau de l’accès, si vous arrivez en voiture il faudra marcher un petit peu, mais sinon les Grab scooter ont accès à « Paddy Point », c’est à 1/2min à pied de l’hôtel et c’est pas compliqué à comprendre. Summa est très gentille, et la communication est très bonne

An incredible gem in Ubud in a quaint and quiet area. Many small eating places nearby with pretty good food as well, just a bike's ride from plenty of places too! Small note: it is quite in the 'wilderness' so expect critters here and there but no issues as long as you close your door!

We booked multiple units at this property and it was very convenient to have privacy among our party (and the other tenants renting units), yet remain on the same property so that we could still coordinate meals and activities together. Wonderful surrounds, pool and comfy beds! We would definitely book this place again.

La guesthouse est dans un cadre magnifique, luxuriant et calme. Propice à la détente. Le warung Sari padi qui se situe juste derrière est excellent. Summa et son mari sont très accueillants et adorables. Summan m'a donné de supers conseils sur des lieux qui m'intéressaient. J'ai passé un excellent séjour et j'y retourne dans 1 semaine. Marcher dans les rizières le matin est un must have :-)
Ce logement est juste idyllique et son emplacement parfait. Je recommande vivement un stop par ce petit paradis si vous êtes dans les parages lors de votre périple Balinais.

Absolutely loved my stay here I just wished it was longer. Summa made me feel right at home and the communication was better than any airbnb I have ever stayed in. The pool area is incredible and the incredible wifi speeds in each room due to every room having their own router was brilliant. Means I could get a few bits of work done and not have to go to a cafe. Can’t wait to stay again before I leave back home

A great little lush hideaway that's not too far to walk to cafes and restaurants (and temples) yet far enough to have peaceful vibes. Friendly and helpful hosts and staff, simple and clean rooms, love the poolside area. Great value too!

Die Unterkunft hat uns sehr gefallen! Die Gastgeber waren äußerst nett und hilfreich. Man wohnt direkt bei den Reisfeldern was die Umgebung wunderschön und ruhig macht. Da wir uns einen Roller ausgeliehen haben waren alle Sehenswürdigkeiten gut zu erreichen! Auch das Restaurant „Paddi Point“ wurde uns empfohlen und bleibt unvergleichlich was Essen, Ambiente und Preise angeht. Wir kommen gerne wieder:)!
Het verblijf van Summa & Roberto was geweldig! Ze heeft ons vriendelijk ontvangen en de kamer laten zien. Alles was netjes en schoon. Het ligt rustig tussen de rijstvelden en alles is makkelijk bereikbaar na het huren van een scooter. Staan open voor een leuk gesprek en hebben veel tips over de mooie omgeving. Aanrader!

j ai passé un excellent sejour, perdue dans le jardin et les rizières environnantes. ce fut calme et reposant, tout en restant proche d ubud. Avec de bons warung à quelques mètres. la Chambre et la salle de bain étaient propres. pas de petits animaux dans la chambre, il suffit pour cela de garder la porte de la salle de bain fermée. j y retournerai avec plaisir. 🙏

The place is exactly as the pictures!! The host is very kind and helpfull. The place is a 20 min walk to the city, or 5min by scooter;taxi.. enough places to eat in the neighbourhood. I loved being in the Rice feelds.

si vous cherchez le calme, c est l endroit parfait. très beau jardin, piscine, restos sympas à proximité. par contre assez loin du centre ville d Ubud. scooter ou taxi indispensables. derniers 200m à faire à pied comme indiqué sur l annonce. Summa malgré son absence est très réactive par message. Roberto, son mari m a accueillie. très bon sejour
Absolutely would love to go here again. The room was clean and in such a peaceful area! Summa and her partner are true gems and everyone else working here was super friendly too, I felt at home immediately :). And don’t get me started on the beautiful surroundings… 10/10 stay, don’t think twice about booking this spot!
In short, Summa's place is perfect. It is perectly located for anyone who wants both peace and quick access to restaurants and action. But that isn't really why this place stands out. Everything you would want in a hotel/accomodation at even high price-points is there with one crucial addition that rounded off the whole experience: the hosts. Kind, helping, and anticipating what I may need. If I come back to Bali, I will come back to this place.

I really enjoyed staying here. The host was incredibly responsive. The room was cleaned daily. I would stay here again. The location is very peaceful - however, follow the instructions the host sends you after booking as grab/maps often give the wrong directions to the Airbnb. Note that the Airbnb is only accessible on foot or by scooter - there is a little walk between the parking lot and the Airbnb.
Summa was not there during our stay, but Roberto took good care of! Thank you Roberto. I really enjoyed stay in the surrounding rice field and the lovely villa.
Super nice place with super nice hosts. Roberto upgraded our room when they found out there was an unexpected issue with construction noise required the following morning. Very nice hosts, serene place, with an amazing swimming pool.
Super liebe Menschen, hilfsbereite, tolle Lage und schöne Ausstattung in der Unterkunft. Summa ist total hilfsbereit und wir haben dort auch einen Roller gemietet. Ubud ist super toll zum shoppen
one of the most beautiful places to stay in ubud! summa and roberto have created such a wonderful and peaceful space and were such amazing hosts to us! the staff were all so friendly aswell, cleaning our room everyday which was nice to come back to. the pool was stunning and everything was so clean and tidy! we loved our stay so much, we’re already planning on coming back!
Lieu incroyable, dépaysement assuré, légèrement excentré du centre ville et de son agitation ce qui Vous permet vous y reposer et profiter de la piscine qui est super. Le logement est confortable et rien à redire que la propreté. Summa est une hote attentionné et pleine de sourire, toujours présente pour nous donner de bons conseils. Il y a de petits restaurants locaux juste à côté qui sont un incontournable. Je recommande vivement ce logement. Merci Summa. :)

Beautiful place and very nice hosts. The room was very clean. The hosts are very helpful. To the center of Ubud on foot I went 30 minutes by scooter about 10 minutes. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful . I spent a 1 month there and it was nice time. I can recommend this place.

We had a fantastic stay with Summa and Roberto! They were so incredibly friendly, helpful and kind to us, helping organise a taxi driver from the airport and giving us lots of recommendations and tips. The location is beautiful, amongst rice paddies and other buildings along a path that you can only access by foot or bike, it is very tranquil. Room is great, has everything you need and nothing you dont. We really appreciated having the free water refill and the pool was so amazing to return to after a days adventures! I loved being close enough to walk into Ubud, go to yoga and explore all the tasty wee cafes in the morning. Definitely book here if you get the chance, you won't regret it :)

Wow. Everything exceeded my expectations. It was close to the city, yet tucked away just enough to be able to retreat after a long day surrounded by nature. It felt like I was staying in the middle of the jungle! I was greeted every morning by dancing butterflies! Warm showers. Water jugs. Beautiful pool. Summa and Roberto were so kind and quick to assist me with anything I needed. Would recommend to anyone! Thank you so much!
Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön. Der Pool ist mega nice, die Zimmer sind einfach gehalten, aber völligst ausreichend. Man befindet sich inmitten von Reisfeldern und kann toll in der Gegend spazieren gehen. Scooter sind allzeit verfügbar und kostet pro Tag nur ca. 4 Euro umgerechnet. Im Zimmer steht immer Wasser zur Verfügung und man kann immer selbst was nachfüllen. Wenn man Hunger hat kann ich nur das Warumg tinc tinc empfehlen, das ist super günstig und mega lecker. Da man sich nicht im Zentrum Ubuds befindet, ist es sooo schön ruhig und nicht voll. Kann die Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen! Summa und co. sind sehr sehr herzlich!
I had the privilege of staying here at the lovely Rumah Semanggi for three weeks and I couldn’t feel more pleased with my experience. Summa and Roberto were incredibly kind and approachable the entire time and assisted with a very smooth arrival and departure. The room was very nice and cleaned neatly every morning. The pool was wonderful, the gardens were beautiful, the staff were generous, and the area was peaceful. I highly recommend Rumah Semanggi for a fantastic experience in Ubud.
We had the best time at summas place and knew after just one night that we wanted to stay there for longer. It's very peaceful and comfortable, and everyone was just so kind! Also the location is very nice, since it's rather quite but you can also easily walk to the more central area of ubud and also restaurants and cafes are near by. Summas place was perfect for exploring the nature and the city but also to relax and spend some time at the pool with a good book :)
Stayed in this place for 10 days and it was really nice. Next to the river and the place surrounding with very well maintained garden & big deep pool, very refreshing. The staff really friendly and helpful, the owner always there & give you recommendation for what around the area. Very happy and will come back again for sure.
I was searching a place to escape the busy city turned out i found a perfect place, this place is one of a kind,it's very tranquil and serene. The location surrounded by rice paddies and in the morning you can see Mt.Agung view. The room is spacious and spotless, wifi is super fast for working, the pool is nice and less chemical (which rarely find in Bali). Summa,Roberto and Mbok Wayan are great hosts and always make sure guest have nice stay. I already miss the place and definitely will come back in longer stay!
Rumah Semanggi is a little slice of heaven. The villa is tucked back between ricefields, jungle, and a river. My room, Gayo, was clean, comfortable, and spacious. In addition, Weyan cleaned the room almost every day. The sounds of nature put me to sleep every night and gently woke me up every morning. Having my own sitting area outside my room was so lovely to enjoy a quiet afternoon reading a book while listening to the rain or escaping the intense heat. Although the location is a bit further from the city center, it is very peaceful and quiet -- which was what I was wanted. Yet I easily walked into town and to the supermarket and back several days. I also went on leisurely strolls in the area in the morning and evenings. The shared spaces are comfy and inviting and there are fruit trees throughout the property. I spent several days lazing by the poolside then cooling off in the lovely pool. Summa and Roberto are excellent hosts and live on-site so you can ask them anything. They set a welcoming and relaxing tone to the place. Both of them are so easy to talk to and are kind and helpful. I booked five days and extended another week so that should speak for itself. :-)
Summa and Roberto are wonderful hosts. They were so friendly & helpful. We were welcomed with a lovely icy cold ice-tea after a very very long day of travel from Australia. The room was decorated with fresh flowers from the garden upon arrival 🌺🏵️🌸 The room we stayed in is basic without airconditioner however it's in a cool place / space on the property. And we got it for such an amazingly cheap price as we travelled in February out of peak season. Great value for money!! The whole stay was so lovely. It's so quiet, serene, private yet also personal. The whole property is so gorgeous away from the hussle and bussle however so close by some lovely eateries / restaurants "Warung"s and the staff plus Summa & Roberto so friendly, helpful and fun!!! We have had lots of laughs and Summa & Roberto had lots of helpful handy local tips. Highly recommended and definitely would love to go back to this little piece of Paradise we landed! We had a great time at Summa's place! It's a super quiet and relaxing small resort between the rice fields and a river. You feel like you're in the middle of the nature and you're only a short walk from wonderful restaurants and cafes. The place has a real vibe and feels super authentic. The owners live in one of the houses of the resort and a few other people live there full time so it doesn't feel as touristy as the other homestays. The swimming pool is a big plus-it's super deep and the water feels amazing. If we come back to Ubud, this is where we'll stay!
