Exploring Hidden Architectural Masterpiece in East Bali left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.
The virtual preview of Hidden Architectural Masterpiece in East Bali was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Karangasem plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.
I found the tour for Hidden Architectural Masterpiece in East Bali painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.
Super tollen Anwesen zu hohem Preis. Man ist sehr privat. Tolle Kommunikation 👍😊 ich durfte sogar ein Fotoshooting auf dem Anwesen machen und es wurde für mich ein Haar und Make-up Salon ausfindig gemacht, der in die Villa kam. Zwar alles sehr teuer aber es wurde organisiert. Vielen Dank dafür. Das Essen könnte besser sein. Der Service ist gut wir haben uns allerdings immer beobachtet gefühlt da unter der Villa immer wer war. Keine Ahnung warum. Das hat unsre Privatsphäre etwas eingeschränkt. Die Villa ist offen. Am Abend fliegen sehr viele Fledermäuse direkt durch die Villa und hinter lassen ihre Machenschaften. Wir würden aber nochmals kommen.
The place itself is exceptional - decor and surroundings are amazing. There was a bit of struggle with communication with the a place before coming. But when we arrived communication with staff was great. We had some sleep difficulties because house itself is “open” and there are massive waves splashing right in front of villa which is very beautiful but extremely noisy. Staff got me some earplugs after a request. Overall recommend

Our stay at Villa Campuhan was absolutely fantastic! Far exceeded our expectations in every way ✨ The grounds & villas are GORGEOUS - it almost didn’t seem real. Everywhere you turn there’s another picturesque scene 🙌🏼 The architect and designers did a phenomenal job 👏🏼 I can’t speak highly enough of the staff, they were super attentive and friendly, extremely responsive and made sure we had an amazing experience. I’ll be dreaming about our time there for years to come. We are looking forward to coming back one day and spending more time 🌸🌊🌴
This is easily the best Airbnb I've ever stayed at, and I believe it should be nominated for one of the best Airbnbs in the world. The property is run more like a small luxury hotel, with a dedicated 15-person team instantly providing anything you may need (via convenient chat), whether F&B, a masseuse, a private driver, et al for 16 hours / day. As for the villa, it truly deserves its place in AD, as it one of those most unique and beautiful places I've stayed at--from the beautiful wood floors and walls to the (2!) open air showers to the panoramic views from Mt. Agung to the Bali Sea, both of which you can see from the bed. I had previously stayed at Amankila (~30 min away) and would prefer to stay here, even if they were the same price (and this was far more affordable). The combination of design and service made it a truly special, quintessentially Balinese experience that I will always remember.
You would change nothing. Just experience this uniquely exquisite place. We’re almost tempted to tell nobody about it… The service is genuinely five-star. We had the place to ourselves and for three days literally felt like the king and queen of Jasri. Watch the morning sun rise over the ocean and the afternoon light fade — all from your bed! The architecture is extraordinary—authentic hand-carved timber and bamboo, oversized and tribal in character. Even the floorboards are huge slabs of solid timber, delicately joined by hand carving—a privilege to walk on. We swam every day in the horizon pool, as the beach is more for experiencing than swimming. The crashing waves create a constant rhythm—the energy of this place is huge in every way. Every need was quietly taken care of by the beautiful staff. We even loved watching coconuts being harvested from the palms beside reception. Just perfect. Magical. I would change nothing.
We had been in Indonesia for about 2 weeks and Villa Campuhan was definitely a breath of fresh air. Very peaceful, private and really felt like your own private beachfront house with extremely spacious, elegant room, bathroom and outdoor area. Truly a hidden gem. Roma was very responsive front the beginning. Always replied on time and the local driver she connected us with was amazing. It was great to meet her in person and made our stay truly one of a kind. Thank you again for hosting us.

This place is absolutely spectacular. I could not possibly recommend it more. I went for my honeymoon and it was so above and beyond perfect. The place is absolutely stunning, private, restful, beautiful, and so unique. The service is completely incredible. Could not possibly recommend more, you MUST book this place or any of the places on this property!! One million out of 10 stars!!!

I had a feeling the synergy of this place was was going to be magical. And I was right. It begins with the most beautiful Balinese people you could ever by cared for and greeted by. Suksma…Thankyou in Balinese! Deepest heartfelt gratitude. We stayed in the incredible agung villa looking out to mt Agung the powerful mountain, and the ocean in the midst of rice fields and best of all traditional Balinese village life steeped in ceremony. Divine massages, and food and spiritual Balinese healers, food markets, private daily yoga, and Balinese smiles. It was the gift and experience we needed, that just kept on giving. Thankyou Roma and Rob, and Ratih and Wayan, your guesthouse excelled all others And we are beyond grateful for this majestic and beautiful experience. In a sense there are no words, only God. And the scent of heavenly flowers. Suksma. Thankyou and thankyou and thankyou. 🙏

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at this incredible property, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. My villa was stunning, with breathtaking views in the morning and access to a property that is simply drop-dead gorgeous. I was fortunate to have the place to myself during my stay, which made the experience even more special. The food was outstanding, so delicious that I didn’t feel the need to eat anywhere else. Every meal was a delight. The staff were all exceptionally attentive, kind, and polite, making me feel completely at home from start to finish. This is an absolutely amazing place, and I honestly cannot wait to return. Highly recommended!
This place is fantastic. Be warned. It's exposed to the outdoors with many large openings and water gets in when it rains. But, we didn't mind one bit! We had such good service and communication via a group chat someone was there to respond almost immediately. The large villa we stayed in had privacy from rest of the facilities and worked out very well for us. Thanks to Ratih and team for the awesome service!
We had the best time at Villa Campuhan. The location is ideal - right on the ocean with beautiful landscaping and architecture and views of the nearby mountain on a clear day. Our stay was very relaxing and we enjoyed every moment. The staff and especially Ratih were incredibly kind, accommodating, and warm. They handled a few last minutes requests/changes very graciously and helped us organize a day trip in the area as well transportation to and from the property. The food was excellent and we felt no need to eat off the property. Hope we can return in the future
One of the most amazing places we’ve ever stayed. The moment we arrived, we could feel this was no ordinary place. Every detail is crafted with so much love and care - it’s simply unbelievable. The estate was built by a Hollywood director in collaboration with a star architect, originally for his family and friends, taking nearly three years to complete. Once you see it, you understand why. This house is one of five properties on the estate and was actually designed as the director’s personal retreat. Right by the ocean, surrounded by breathtaking Balinese nature, offering stunning views of both the ocean and Agung volcano. All staff (~15 pax) were incredible - kind, attentive, and truly fantastic. While I can’t name everyone, I want to highlight a few: • Ratih – Manager, very kind and always available • Mertanu – Yoga teacher with amazing energy • Sarjana – One of the best massage healers I’ve experienced • Nyoman, Ketut & Putri – chefs preparing fantastic local home-cooked cuisine
Unfortunately, a Moto accident the day before our scheduled check in did not allow us to come to Roma's beautiful place. I give them 5 stars because they were kind and understanding about the extremely last minute cancellation and offered to allow us to switch dates to the future or refund one nights stay. I would definitely recommend this host to anyone looking for a kind and responsive host!

I have never been in a villa that beautiful in my life , the privacy and the personal attention is just Indescribable the stuff responde and attention was amazing , the food was really good , and i love how peaceful the area is and amazing views . I recommend this place for couples. Its just took my breath away. Thanks for everything.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Where to begin! Villa Campuhan exceeded all expectations, which after reading previous reviews, were already very high! My husband and I stayed here for the second week of our honeymoon and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Roma was incredible to communicate with right from booking through to leaving. The villa was absolutely beautiful, with panoramic views and impeccably kept grounds. Roma and Rob’s team of staff were amazing, and were incredibly caring and attentive. I have a severe nut and sesame seed allergy and was anxious about how to deal with this so far from home (UK), but Roma ensured the entire team were aware and even bought new pans to ensure I was safe, it was a huge weight lifted for me. The food was absolutely delicious, all locally sourced and home made on site. Drivers were arranged for us to local areas and were very friendly and helpful! There is a true ‘family’ feel to all the staff offering humble luxury. We will be back!! Thank you so much!
Words cannot describe how stunningly beautiful and heavenly this Villa and compound is. I did not want to leave. I will absolutely return when I visit Bali again and highly recommend this villa for anyone seeking a quiet authentic Bali luxurious retreat away from Tourist traps. Staff is exceptional. Architecture and design exceptional. Hosts are Exceptional. It exceeded my expectations.
A truly magical place set in the most idyllic of surroundings. Almost a once in a lifetime destination (although we do hope to go back one day). Everything about Villa Agung was amazing - the service, the tranquility, the uniqueness, the character and the environment. A place to unwind, relax and absorb everything around you. Perfect.
Heaven on Earth is the least I can describe this place. Every single corner is an inspiring piece of art. Honestly photos don’t do it justice. Such a unique place inspired by the history of Sumatra. The Villa is quite peaceful and private. The staff are super friendly, humble, kind, cheerful and polite. Food is very tasty. Their yogi is an artist and the massage by the ocean was out of this world. We felt home, welcomed, loved, safe and very well taken care off. Roma was such an amazing host very responsive and welcoming. We were lucky to be greeted by Rob and Roma the owners such a great super host. We had such an amazing family and friends trip and reunion.. Thank you.. we did not want to go back home and we will definitely be back
Paradise on Earth. We had a driver, Komang Ungsiana, waiting for us at the airport- he drove us all week, was safe and basically a local tour guide! Villa Campuhan had surreal views- one side a volcano and the other side relaxing ocean. It is open air to a certain extent so occasionally a gecko or bird flew in but the staff helped us if needed. The bed was comfortable. Since it is open air it can get a little warm but there was a a/c unit to use at night and a mosquito net. The staff was SPECTACULAR. Anything we needed they would provide including a pharmacy run for my husband. It was our honeymoon and they made it feel like we were in a dream. Ketut, the property manager, helped us curate a detailed itinerary while we were there- one of our favorite was the immersive Bali Asli cooking class. Wayan took us for an amazing 3-D view in his cool car and quickly became a life-long friend. Though all of the staff were AMAZING, Ketut Berata and Cahyani stood out to us. We felt extremely safe.
We have been fortunate enough to travel the world and have stayed in many 5 star hotels and high end Airbnb's. This Villa is at the top in terms of every aspect. The quality of the accommodation, the over the top service from the staff, the food, the location and the views were all fantastic. Roma was great to deal with. Her onsite manager Ketut is a jewel. We had two issues while we were staying there. First, the airline lost our luggage and Ketut was extremely helpful in communicating with the delivery service and ensuring our luggage was delivered to the right place. Secondly, I had cut my leg in Japan and it had become infected. Ketut personally went to the pharmacy and obtained medicine and bandages which were very much needed. Beyond these special occurrences, the staff on a daily basis was outstanding. We hated to leave, would definitely stay again, and would recommend this Villa without hesitation. Thank you to everyone at Villa Atung for a wonderful and restful stay.
It was such a fantastic place! My husband and I chose this villa as our honeymoon getaway and it was the best decision ever. We had such a relaxing three days. The staffs were so helpful and were very quick to respond all our requests. We had such a good time at the private pool at sunset. We hope to visit again soon.
Before you stay at Campuhan Villas I would strongly suggest to read the story on their website. This gives understanding of the vision that became a reality and how conscientiously the build was carried out regarding eco, local community and Spiritual balance, all so integral. As you walk through the entrance gate, you enter another realm of beauty which is the wonder of being in Bali, yet it's also a noticeable energy shift of leaving the old world behind and becoming part of a very special Campuhan utopia. Everything here is incredible, from the astounding presence of Agung Villa (as well as the other amazing builds), the stunning gardens and geographical positioning, the willingness of all staff to appease and make your stay one of life's great memories, a stay at Campuhan Villas is one of the finest choices you could make for your Balinese adventure. To have the pleasure of spending time with the owner who also happened to be staying, made our stay even more special. Thank you x
My fiancée and I spent 3 nights at Villa Campuhan while traveling across Bali from Denver, CO. Pictures do not do this property justice, it’s one of those see it to believe it places. It’s truly a little slice of heaven on earth. 3 days was not enough! Beautiful villa, incredibly kind and helpful staff, amazing food, & just an all around peaceful and refreshing vibe across the entire property. We stayed in Villa Agung and had a view of the ocean on one side and Mount Agung on the other- highly recommend! 10/10 would definitely stay again and recommend to all! Had a fun time exploring the nearby town Candidasa and relaxing by the pool with massages!
I cannot emphasize enough how incredibly special this villa (and entire property) is. The staff were attentive, helpful, and kind. Roma was quick to respond and sweet. The villa itself was massive, yet cozy. We fell asleep every night to the sound of crashing waves and we spent nearly all day in the private pool. I will absolutely stay here again the next time we come to Bali. Beautiful, private, quiet, and luxurious all in one.

Our stay in Karangasem was wonderful! The staff was so attentive and able to schedule anything for us at a moments notice. The view was amazing and the pool was lovely! We chose this place as the final stay in Bali to kick back and relax before departing for home. It does not disappoint!
Absolutely stunning location. The profile on Air BnB seems almost too good to be true. The staff are very responsive to your every need and really make you feel at home. They help you get the very most out of your Karangasem experience. I could go on describing what you can see for yourself in the photos, but frankly they don't do it justice. Many listings have polished photos, but this is not one of them. What you see on here is what you will get.
Dit was echt onze droomlocatie rustig met zicht over de oceaan. Super vriendelijke staf niets was te veel. Wayan was ook een top kerel die altijd bereikbaar en klaar stond. Deze locatie zal ons voor altijd bijblijven. Hoop hier ooit terug te komen.
What an absolute DREAM! When I wake up back at home, I still envision Villa Campuhan as where I will be when I wake up. Stunning villa. The hospitality was incredible - we had delicious food on the property every day. 11/10 - book this for your excursion to the morning of the Earth - on the East Coast of Bali.
Este lugar es el paraíso en la tierra!!!!! Mi novio y yo lo escogimos para hacer nuestro matrimonio y estábamos un poco asustados de que no fuera como en fotos… adivinen que ? No era como en las fotos, era MUCHÍSIMO MEJOR! Tienen lugares divinos con una combinación de zonas verdes y una playa divina ( no para nadar por que tienen muchas rocas) pero puedes estar acostarte en la piscina y disfrutar la vista y los sonidos de la naturaleza. Me enteré por el manager que puedes contratar una persona que te dicte clases de yoga privadas. Los empleados súper amables, la comida fresca y deliciosa, el lugar súper limpio. Definitivamente supero nuestras expectativas, y las fotos de la boda quedaron de sueños!!!!!!

Absolutely breathtaking property. The private pool was incredible. This was an amazing experience and I cannot recommend enough. The staff are incredibly friendly and always there to help. We had wonderful massages multiple times during our stay. The property is just so gorgeous and feels like a true Bali experience. The villa has so much character. Yes there may be some lizards, but every trade-off is worth it for this wonderful property.
A truly phenomenal place! We have been to quite a few countries and this was a stand out best - both in terms of location, setup, uniqueness of the surroundings and service from staff. It was a once in a lifetime experience and some day we hope to be back. Thank you Ketut and staff for everything.

WOW WOW WOW! 5* unique and beautiful Airbnb that left a last impression on my husband and I. Waking up to the breathtaking sunrise with the waves crashing in was the highlight of our Bali trip. We barely saw East Bali as we were so content in Villa Agung, chilling, sunbathing, great food, massages. Ah it was a dream and I’d highly recommend!
Best place on Bali
Me & my husband stayed 3 nights here as our honeymoon, the villa is spacious and has spectacular ocean view & the Mount Agung view. The villa is very airy and there is a fan inside the canopy so it was very comfortable at night. The private infinity pool was another plus. There are some ants and small insects but these didn't bother us at all. Manager Pak Ketut and his team have been very helpful and responded to our requests quickly. Also we would like to give praise to the chef as the food was delicious. The breakfast has multiple options and in good portion. For dinner we really love the chicken curry, local fresh water fish & banana bread! Overall, our stay was lovely and would love to come back for vacation again in the furture.
Out of all the Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at… this is by far the best one!! Upon arrival, my fiancé and I were greeted with a fresh hibiscus tea while the property manager walked us through how everything worked. The views from the villa are insane - we booked this villa for the day after I proposed to my fiancé and she was over the moon. Villa comes with a private pool where we practically spent all day and you can message the manager for anything you need. We ordered 2 Balinese massages, poolside cocktails, and coconuts. Every morning, the staff brings you a homemade breakfast and they have an extensive menu for lunch and dinner. It’s nice that they don’t invoice you until the very end as well - that way you can enjoy the holiday and pay until check out (similar to luxury resorts). We had originally planned to explore East Bali while we were there but the views were so beautiful that we ended up staying at the villa. We’ll definitely be back, hopefully for an entire week next time!!

Die Unterkunft war magisch. Es war wie im Traum. Die Bilder von der Unterkunft entsprechen nicht der Beschreibung, es ist nämlich noch viel schöner. Ich habe meiner Partnerin dort einen Antrag gemacht und wir werden das Wochenende nie vergessen. Das Personal, die Lage, die villa, alles hat gepasst und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Without a doubt, a truly special and memorable experience - possibly the most unique Airbnb I've ever stayed at! From the stunning scenery (sea and volcano views) to architectural and interior design details of the villa and the incredibly warm and welcoming staff... this is an absolute gem! Service and serenity at its finest - perfect for a private getaway or special occasion. Ketut and the staff were so friendly and attentive and took great care of us during our stay. They helped us arrange for a wonderful driver (Ketut Karda) + tour of Tirta Gangga and local coffee plantation, delicious meals on our villa's 2 patios, poolside snacks and drinks and seaside massages. Definitely luxurious but also incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Ketut was generous to chat with us about Balinese culture and the history of the villas giving us an even deeper appreciation of the experience. We are so grateful - Matur Suksma. What an amazing stay!! I can hands down say this is the best Airbnb i’ve stayed at! The staff were a joy and the host made sure everything was available! I had dinner, breakfast, a yoga class and a massage all in the compound! The manager also found a taxi service for me to go out for dinner! Beautiful experience even as a solo traveller. Only downside was that the villa was not fully enclosed. During the night, you can expect many animals and insects. The curtains around the bed do deter the pests though. Over all fantastic value for your money and the place truly is breathtaking. Will be back next time I am in Bali!
Everything about Villa Campuhan was amazing! The grounds were gorgeous and immaculate. The staff was so kind and attentive. The service was amazing. And the views were straight from a dream! This is away from the crowds and truly connected you with nature and luxury. No AC and everything is open air, but we liked that it felt very natural and authentic.

It was a highlight of our life to stay at Roma&Robs insanely amazing home. The picture’s don’t do it justice. It’s by far the most stunning place I’ve ever stayed in, and I love fancy and high end. It’s magical. I did yoga everyday, got massages, the team are incredible. We even extended. Kutu and the team are like family and made us so welcome so authentically. We did a cooking course with the kitchen ladies and learnt how to make Nasi Goreng and a fish curry from scratch. Roma was super helpful and divine! Don’t think - just book! Jonathan and I will be back, a million times over. This is one very special place. We went to the fabric market and I bought such iconic things for our home. It’s the first time since travelling Bali for a month I felt like we were in authentic Bali that foreigners hadn’t come and transformed it modern, I love this place and area and it was worth every cent! A dream place and highlight! Xxx
Rob and Roma's place is simply breathtaking! The minute we entered the compound were in awe and then we entered our room and our jaws dropped. We were thrilled and humbled at the same time that we could experience such a amazing place. The Villa is a architectural thing of beauty and the icing on the cake is the Villa Manager and the entire team. Always with a smile and bending over backwards to make our stay extra special. Roma was brilliant and kind in answering all my question and helping me organize a special experience for my wifes birthday. If you have a opportunity to come to Bali and this place is available do no hesitate to book, You will remember the experience for the rest of your life and like us start planning your next trip back
It's a quiet and private paradise very close to the ocean. When we enter the small door it's like another world. It's a perfect hideaway from city life and enjoys the sunrise, sunset, cloud, and ocean. The villa has two balconies that have different views, one is the ocean view and the other faces the jungle and volcano. The night sky with stars is so exciting. And it's a perfect place to spend with your loved one, the romantic atmosphere will make you want to love him/her more. The private chef and service team are also great. All meals felt homemade, and fresh yet with rich flavor. Swimming in the afternoon with a fresh coconut then reading your favorite novel and losing time, it's been so long since I enjoyed my life that much. Love this place!

Above all expectations
One of the best places to stay, hands down! Yes, it’s expensive, but that’s what sets it apart. It’s a work of art and if you can afford it it’s worth every dollar. Exclusive view, hearing the waves crash on the beach, sleeping under a misquito net the size of a bedroom (that the staff turns down for you nightly). And amazing staff!! They will accommodate your every need! The direct access road is a little bumpy, but that only adds to the exclusivity, and you won’t hear any distracting noises - except the occasional GECKO GECKO! Which is very good luck in Bali. I highly recommend this place!
Villa Campuhan is a once in a lifetime experience and the closest thing to paradise we've yet encountered in all our travels. The property itself is immaculately maintained and the staff are some of the most kind and welcoming people you're likely to meet. We came for our honeymoon and had the entire place to ourselves. If you're looking for a beautiful, quiet corner of Bali look no further. We can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to come back.

What to say… Except that this trip was our best airbnb experience ever. The place is exceptional, authentic, warm, decorated with great taste. You feel at home from the first seconds. The staff is unbelievably kind and attentive. The food is very refined and if you want to offer yourself a moment of relaxation and flavors, try the banana cocktail. We extended our stay, after having toured the island we found no equal to this paradise on earth. We had the chance to meet Roma and Rob who are 2 people as exceptional as their place. Knowing the history of this place made it even more unique to us. We were able to attend a Balinese ceremony that only a place like this can offer us: Authentic, simple, joyful and full of benevolence. Thank you again Roma and Rob, we will miss you, but count on us to come back very soon!

알고보니 헐리웃 영화감독의 별장이었던 숙소. 정말 이색적이고 훌륭한 경험이었습니다. 굉장히 많은 전문가들이 모여서 이 공간을 만들었을거라고 생각되며 현지 스태프들도 친절합니다. 숙소가 실내가 아니지만 그에 따른 불편함이 거의 없으며 에어컨 없이도 쾌적합니다. 기타 용품 및 웰컴 드링크와 과일도 좋았으며 식사를 가져다주는 서비스, 마사지베드를 가져와 해주는 서비스 등 모두 훌륭했습니다. 택시를 불러 amed beach에 가면 좋은 스노클링 스팟이 있으며 언젠가 꼭 다시 방문하고싶은 숙소입니다.
