Exploring Hidden Well – the writers' secret orchid garden left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.
The virtual preview of Hidden Well – the writers' secret orchid garden was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Pekutatan plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.
I found the tour for Hidden Well – the writers' secret orchid garden painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.
The internet isn’t fast (or just out completely) and the neighbors are loud. The internet was either slow or totally out and cellular service in the area, you can’t get work done. And the neighbor isn’t just close - they share a wall and started blasting music before 7am. It won’t be as tranquil or secluded as you think. A motorbike / car is an absolute must as it’s not close to most things (no car parking at house, have to walk the last 100 meters or so along a footpath). Caretakers are nice and easy to communicate via WA.
Wir haben die Zeit in Hidden Well genossen, die Familie hat uns sehr geholfen und war super nett. Das Haus liegt im Wald, wodurch einige Tiere wie Käfer, Geckos und Moskitos normal ist, darauf muss man sich einstellen. Der Strand ist schön, leider kann man dort nicht schwimmen und muss etwas weiter fahren. Das Internet war instabil und trotz Hilfe mit einem zweiten alternativ Netzwerk nicht zum Arbeiten geeignet. Es ist möglich Filme zu schauen. Man findet viele Märkte mit Früchten und Gemüse und kann sich gut selbst versorgen. Von der Familie haben wir auch sehr leckeres Bananenbrot bekommen und vor Ort ganz frische Kokosnüsse gekauft. Danke!
I want to highlight the positives, as there were many. Narina was highly responsive from the beginning, and Sudana & his family were absolutely amazing, kind & helpful throughout my stay - the most organized team of any AirBnB. The place itself has clearly been created with love & thoughtfulness. The design (colors, layout), comfy bed, outdoor shower - great. Beach - stunning. I also want to honestly share that I had a few experiences that made it challenging for me. For context, I was solo-traveling & looking for a lot of privacy and little to no effort on my part, so I could focus on writing & resting. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel completely alone w/neighbors sounding very close at inconvenient hours (early AM & late night). I also am usually fine with seeing jungle critters but felt I had to stay on top of keeping areas clean of droppings, etc. For other people, this may be a perfect, rustic getaway, but it didn’t work out for me. Narina did help resolve the situation in a fair way.
I was really excited to stay here, and while it was lovely to be right next to the beach while also feeling in the jungle, the noise from the neighbours meant that I was woken up at 4:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep as the noise went on until well past sunrise. They were cleaning dishes, sweeping the floor and talking loudly. I really value privacy and the feeling that I am alone, and I didn’t get that from this place. So it’s perfect if you prefer not to be alone and know that people are right next door. One thing that also surprised me was when the parents came to do an offering in the garden in the evening. While I know it’s a ritual in Bali, I was surprised to be disturbed. It isn’t a place I would want to come with a partner for that reason of being walked in on. Other than that (which are deal breakers for me) the house itself is cute, the beach is lovely and empty, and the host gives you everything you need regarding restaurants, things to do etc etc which was nice.☺️
Hidden Well is a unique accommodation experience. Set in a banana grove it is about a 150m walk through the palms to a quiet stretch of beach, where you can walk for miles and watch fishermen casting their nets. The HW team are very welcoming and responsive and were happy to chat and share their love of West Bali. For me the highlight was the massages and yoga classes that were carried out at the accommodation. Thanks for the relaxing stay!
One of my favorite places I’ve stayed. Just a five-minute walk to the open sea, yet incredibly private, peaceful and quiet. The only thing that interrupts the silence is the sound of nature around you. I hope to go back soon
I had a little retreat for myself coming to Bali after many years. I enjoyed the peace and intimacy this place is offering. I mostly stayed in - doing my practice, cooking and taking baths in lovely outdoor bathroom. Early mornings and sunset beach walks are just special. The whole team is always there to help and assist. I wish for everyone who enjoy peacful and natural environments to have an opportunity to experience this place. Love.
I had a wonderful stay at Marina's place. It's much more than just an Airbnb – it's an experience. The cottage is cosy, beautifully decorated, clean, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. I especially loved the outdoor shower, and showering in the morning sun quickly became one of my favourite moments. The cottage is nestled in a banana plantation, and while it's next to a family home, it didn't bother me at all. In fact, I found it comforting to know there were people nearby at night. The location is perfect for anyone looking to experience a quieter, more authentic side of Bali. The beach is just a short walk away and is beautiful, peaceful, and ideal for long morning or sunset walks. The hosting family were super kind and welcoming, and Marina shared lots of great recommendations, which I loved exploring by scooter. Also, the complimentary pink buffalo walk was a fun experience and one I can definitely recommend. I would happily stay here again.
Hidden Well ist ein für uns magischer Ort. Die Lage mitten in einer Bananenplantage fußläufig zu einem gefühlt endlosen Strand ist perfekt zum Runterkommen. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich und wunderschön eingerichtet, alles da, was man braucht. Die Outdoor-Küche und das Freiluftbad (beste Dusche ever) sind unglaublich. Dann das Rundumsorglos-Paket mit allen Beteiligten vor Ort, die Familie um Sudana und seine Frau Ketut kümmern sich mit Freude, Sorgfalt und viel Lachen um alles und ist immer sofort erreichbar. Die Tipps für Restaurants, Ausflüge, Aktivitäten sind alle super, wir haben uns fast durch die komplette Liste gearbeitet und wurden nie enttäuscht. Zu Beachten allerdings: Scooter oder Fahrrad empfehlenswert, Strand am Haus wegen der Strömung nicht zum Schwimmen geeignet, ja, es gibt kleine Tiere, die machen aber nix😉, und ja, die Nachbarn sind direkt daneben, hat uns aber nie gestört . Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im Hidden Well und kommen auf alle Fälle wieder.
One of the most unique Airbnbs I’ve ever stayed at. Can hear the waves from the house and beautiful walk to the wide quiet beach.
I have had an excellent experience with hidden well！Narina sent very detailed information of this property，the owner's family，and the place where we can visit during we live there，which was super super helpful！I love this property very much，if you are looking for a luxury villa hotel it is not the choice，but if you are looking for a home of Bali，it will definitely make you feel that you are living in your home. This property is very thoughtful that you can find everything you need，super quiet that you can only hear the voice of the sea. I got up early morning，made a cup of coffee，enjoy it with the banana bread which they prepared for us，that was a perfect time. While I was surfing，my husband also joined their fishing trip，got a lot of fish. Ketut cooked the fish and made a very delicious dinner！ I am so glad that I have booked this bnb，but the time was too short. I will back and stay with them again.
Hidden well is an amazing spot, perfect if you want to slow down a little. So peaceful. Outdoor bath and gardens were amazing. If you're heading to west Bali don't miss out on this opportunity. I recommend picking up some snacks and milk for your morning coffee as it is a little far from anything. if you can ride a scooter rent one. Thank you to host Narina and Sudana, Komang and Kadet 🙏
Beautiful beautiful beautiful place!! I spent 10 days there and ended up feeling like home. Amazing family taking care of hidden well welcoming you with open arms. Hidden Well is just such a tranquil place where you get to slow down and connect.
I also loved the HiddenWell, it was just amazing! A unique oasis I will never forget and definitely come back when I am in Bali! Like Narina said, I couldn‘t decide which house is more special, the HiddenWell or the Treehouse, both have their own magic you can not describe, unless you have experienced it! ✨ thx to all of you guys, you did just great!
This stay felt like heaven on earth - beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. The hosts were incredibly kind, and I felt comfortable the whole time. Even though I couldn’t join the activities for health reasons, everything looked amazing. I’m so glad I booked this accommodation and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to relax and recharge.
After a dusty journey from Amed Beach, nothing felt more refreshing than showering in the garden after a five-hour ride. That very moment, I considered staying an extra night—and indeed, I extended my booking the next day. From the moment I made the reservation, Narina provided attentive and thoughtful assistance. I spent three serene and wonderful days here, watching the little birds in the backyard welcome their newborns and play under the trees when no one was around. Sunlight, plants, breeze, and creatures have all woven together their own little world here—everything felt almost too beautiful to be true. How many days like this do we truly experience in a lifetime? My heartfelt thanks to Sudana’s family for their kind care, and to Narina for creating this magical place—a hidden gem in West Bali. Narina also mentioned that the cottage is maintained collectively by the villagers, which is absolutely wonderful!
we had a wonderful stay in Hidden Well, the house and garden, the outside bathroom is beautiful. Very relaxed! it does help to have or hire a scooter, which we did not, because the traffic can be crazy. but if you're okay with it, just go for it. We loved every minute of our stay here. It’s incredibly private and quiet, only surrounded by trees and greenery. The garden is very well maintained and the orchids look particularly stunning. All living areas were very clean and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed reading on the daybed and had Elly come over to do massages, which were the best we’ve ever had! The outdoor bathtub was a favourite, particularly at night, when we could see the stars from it. We also did the buffalo tour and cooking class with the family. That was a lovely experience, we loved meeting the locals who are very welcoming and willing to teach you about their culture. They’re all truly lovely people that will no doubt make you feel at home! If you’re thinking about staying here, this is your sign to - I’ve just left and can’t wait to be back! The garden so beautiful, I teared up when entering. It was a lovely welcome, I usually prefer no one but the fresh coconut after long drive was perfect. Loved all small touches and the banana cake they left me was absolutely delish. All the recommendations were wonderful & super helpful. Beach lounge chairs great! Kelapa spa a walk down the beach was fantastic. Lost lindenberg a short walk the other direction was a neat experience with the best vegan food I had on the island. Puri Dajuma was an easy pickup, great beach & very affordable. Pink buffalo walk was a fun unique experience & got to know the host family more. Their son drove me to Ubud & gave me a private tour the next day as well. Narina gave so much info, a playlist & even gave me a birthday gift. Would love to come again!

Hidden Well is a gem! The house is beautiful, spotless and very very comfy - the bathroom is a dream! Some days I didn’t even leave the house, what for? I had everything I needed. Narina, Sudana and Komang are 5 star hosts! The sweetest, most responsive hosts I ever had - they even made a whatssap group so we could all communicate. Narina’s recommendations are fantastic and she goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, at home and have the greatest time. Everyone around the area knows of Hidden Well and speaks highly of it, so it’s such a relieve given the immense gentrification going on all around Bali. Overall, one of the best airbnb experiences and stays I’ve ever had, five stars is not enough.
Hidden well is truly a hidden gem! We've already stayed here 2 times in the last 2 months. Sudana and his family is adorable and always available to help. They make sure your stay is comfortable. Narina is a superhost! She prepped us days before our trip with everything you need to know about West Bali. She takes care of every little detail and ensures anything that you need is taken care of. We had a truly beautiful and peaceful stay at The Hidden Well in Medewi. The location is perfect—tucked away right on the beach, offering a tranquil escape while still being close to town and the famous surf breaks. The villa had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay, and we loved that there were great restaurants just a short walk or drive away. A special thanks to the wonderful local family who helps run the property—they really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for throughout our time there. We highly recommend joining the cooking class and buffalo walk—both were such unique and memorable experiences. Narina has also done an incredible job organizing everything with clear, detailed information that made everything so easy.
Nice and private place. And the area is super relaxed with no tourists around, and a massive long sand beach with no one around. Very private and the host is super good to give recommendations!! Highly recommend
Rustic house away from any noise and people. The hosts were fantastic and always wanted to help ensure our stay was enjoyable. Even gave us fresh coconuts on arrival and helped us rent a scooter for a good price. Would recommend to anyone wanting some peace and quiet.
We really enjoyed our stay here and will come back to visit again. Homey, traditional space with some nice modern touches in a beautiful surrounding.. Excellent place to chill and relax! Narina provided all the information required and the local family took good care of us (Kadek and his uncle Sudana)! Well equipped kitchen, clean place. As it is in the jungle, insects are expected to visit. Nice little trail to the sea. Recommended for couples who wants peace and quiet.

The hidden well hut is a great small home away from home with pretty much everything you need for a short stay. The bathroom is lovely and we enjoyed the bathtub at night, no issues with hot water and a great shower too. all the details have been thought through and instructions are very clear on what to do and how to organise it. We're grateful the home is pet friendly too! The location is tucked away but you are connected to a local house next door, so not entirely private but we didn't notice them too much apart from the lil doggies barking at people walking past.

Hidden Well really felt exactly like that: a place where I could draw from the well again in order to replenish myself before a busy time coming up. I took my fiancée and two little pugs here, and we had a wonderful experience. The place was just perfect for what we wanted, 5 min walk from a big, open, quiet beach, and walking distance to good food and coffee too. Well walking distance for the humans anyway, the pugs needed to carried a little on occasion 🤣 Really recommend this place. We aim to back as soon as we can!

This was one of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve had. The HW is so charming and located in such a beautiful area. The experiences Komang & family offer to learn more about Bali and their culture was the highlight of our trip. We will most definitely come back!!! Cannot recommend staying here more!
If you're thinking about booking Hidden Well, do! This place is like paradise and is run perfectly by Narina and the local family, who can't do enough to help. They have thought of everything you could possibly need, and some things that you didn't know you needed. You will find lots of information about things to do, places to go, where to shop, restaurants, cafes etc etc and the family are always on hand to help with arranging things like tours, transport and recommendations. The welcome was amazing too, with Sudana cutting us a coconut and creating a spout to drink from! Nothing is too much trouble and we even joined them for a walk with their pink buffalo along the beach, a visit to their rice paddies and a coffee at the family home. Hidden Well felt just like home and Sudana and the family felt just like our Balinese family. We wished that we could stay for longer!

We had such a lovely time at Hidden Well! After telling them it was our anniversary they made it extra special with anniversary decorations on the bed with flowers. We loved the set up of the place and had the true feeling of a home. Sudana and his family were so kind to us, with welcome coconuts when we got there to offerings done by his wife. One thing to note is if you want to get out and see things a bike hire is almost necessary. Thank you so much for having us, we will definitely be back!!
After a warm welcome (fresh fruit, banana bread, coffee beans and eggs provide, what a treat) we felt right at home. Everything was spotless clean and the bed was comfortable, the garden was very well taken care of and a little oasis (along with the bathroom and the shower under the stars). All locals, including the host were super friendly. We also loved Elly and her massages and the Buffalo Walk with Komang and his dad. Hidden Well is an absolute gem. If you are debating booking this, let go of any doubt or worry. This is your place. Narina has thought of everything to make your stay unforgettable and unique. Located just steps away from a beautiful and secluded beach, you are also just moments away from surfing at Medewi, an unspoiled Balinese village with local markets and restaurants, and pristine nature experiences. On top of that, Narina and Mark offer to you fresh baked banana bread (and if you think you don’t like banana bread, just wait until you try this one), local coffee beans for your coffee, handpicked fruit from Bali, and the on-site hosts Sudana and his family, Ketut, Komang, Ayu, Kadek, who are there for your every need. Sudana greets you with a fresh coconut, and you cannot miss the pink buffalo rice tour or a cooking class with Ketut. I loved this place so much that I will be staying again for a THIRD time in one visit. It’s what old Bali felt like (so I’m told), and simply the best.
It’s the second time we stay at one the properties of the owners. We loved the second time as much as the first. The place is gorgeous and secluded, a little oasis of peace. It’s literally inside a mall banana plantation. You’ll literally be inside nature. Hosts are very welcoming, responsive and go above and beyond, between giving loads of recommendations and having fresh coconuts and a banana bread loaf ready for us when we arrived. Would definitely stay again.
I had a wonderful, 30 days at hidden well. Narina was great in communicating with me over the entire stay. I rented a motor scooter and drove to many different beautiful places. Took long walks on the black sand beaches and enjoyed the short walk to the beach through the banana and coconut groves. I enjoyed the pink buffalo walk on the beach and watching the sunset many evenings. The entire family whom I communicated with, was very kind, attentive, and cater to all of my needs. I had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay there again.
The one word that came up constantly in the guest book at Hidden Well was ’Magical’ and we agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment. The home is simply gorgeous and just as the pictures show. The host and the family who take care of the guests are incredibly welcoming, kind and accomodating. Hidden Well was everything promised and everything we hoped for.
It's my third stay at Hidden Well and every time I come back I fall in love with it even more. I feel right at home here! It's a very special place in which to unwind, read and enjoy nature. Hidden Well is set in a very special part of Bali. It’s a little remote but if you are looking for somewhere beautifully tranquil to rest and relax this is ideal. Unless you are truly self-contained it would be best to hire a motorbike but Sudana and his family are extremely welcoming and can help with any problems. It’s a pleasure to switch Canggu traffic for bird-song and hawkers and crowded sunbeds for that perfectly deserted wild beach! I found Hidden Well to be an ideal working base - it’s well laid-out and comfortable and the WiFi was fast enough for video streaming and everything that I needed to do.
Wow hidden well is really a hidden paradise in the jungle. What a warm welcome. From the pick up from Selat (3 hours tour) and the lovely welcome with fresh coconuts 🥥 in the jungle. Extremely beautiful was the towel art , beautiful swans. Lovely wake ups; taking skinny dips into the sea, the sound of the waves. drinking our morning coffees at the beach, scooter riding through Pekutatan, delicious coffee and eating banana bread at Wakey Wackey, lovely food at Rasta Bar, relaxing, we liked the balinese massage from Elly. We enjoyed nature and each other immensely. A great experience at hidden well. We made unforgettable memories! We are grateful for this Hidden Well adventure and your friendly hospitality.
This is my second time staying at one of Narina’s properties and it was a wonderful stay! The cottage is comfortable, clean, and has a nice aesthetic. It’s a very peaceful, quiet, and beautiful area. Highly recommend and I would stay here again!
Although it was a little hard to find initially, the area is absolutely gorgeous. The locals are so kind and welcoming and Hidden Well provides the serenity and peacefulness anyone desires. Narina and her team are always wonderful and quick to respond. Their generosity knows no bounds and I loved my stay.
The place is very beautiful and has a private garden. The bathroom is open and has a big tub. The room is clean and every thing is very cozy. She is a fantastic host and provides you with a huge map legend of everything in it that you can do in your surroundings. She includes a lot of local attractions and activities that are very enjoyable as well as gives back to the community. The family is very sweet and all put in a lot of love into the accommodation

Hello, I'm not sure if i'm going to be able to fit everything into this review. We booked the place on a very short notice in regards of the previous recommendations from other people. Everything what we experienced here was so much more what we could've hoped for. Starting from the moment we arrived in bali, to the point where we were standing in front of the airbnb as our whole stay was delightfull! The place itself offers a very nice outdoor kitchen to cook in. Including a lot of amenities. The sleeping room with a bed so comfortable you don't wanna leave it. The outdoor bathroom with a lovely shower and a even better bathtub. The place is very peacefull and perfect if you have a scooter available. The hosts will provide one if asked for. A big thank you towards the family of Sudana. Him, his wife, his son and nephew Komang and Kadek and everyone else helping to maintain the place. They made our stay unforgettable with included activities and they friendliness. Thank you Narina!
We booked Hidden Well last minute due to a change of travel plans and we’re so pleased we did! It looks exactly as it does in the photos - a truly magical place in the middle of the forest. The outdoor bathroom was particularly amazing, we had a bath under the stars! We could walk 2 minutes to a virtually private black sand beach, which was also pretty special. If you want a chill oasis in the middle of nature, this is definitely the place to go. You’d need a scooter or local taxi service to get into Medewi town. Narina was an exceptional host with brilliant recommendations and instructions. Thank you!
Hidden Well had been on our Airbnb ‘bucket list’ for YEARS!!! And my gosh, it was worth the wait. It was, without a doubt, one of the most peaceful, and calm places we’ve ever been lucky enough to stay. We felt as though we were miles from anywhere, and it was certainly the rejuvenating 4 night stay our minds and bodies needed. The beach is a lazy 5-min stroll through the banana trees, and you’ll likely only be sharing it with some local fishermen. So peaceful! The most impactful part of our stay at Hidden Well, however, were the people who made it possible. Narina - thank you for your extremely thoughtful recommendations and clear communication, you made everything so easy for us. Komang - thank you picking us up, for your local insight, and for helping us further understand your culture a little better. Sudana and family - thank you for welcoming us into your home and showing us your buffalos and rice paddies. It was a truly unique experience, and we will certainly be back!
I loved my stay at Hidden Well! The bathroom is actually a private garden and you can lie in the bath and watch the stars through the palm trees, which is very special. And the shower is awesome! I enjoyed sunsets on the patio (the fountain is a nice feature) in the tropical garden. It's quiet and secluded, which is a perfect escape from busy Canggu, but you'll need a scooter to get around (the host family arranged this for me - they were super helpful and made me feel so welcome). The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The astounding beach (almost completely deserted) is just a few minutes walk away. Thank you so much for everything and I really hope to be back soon!

What an amazing stay at Hidden Well. It was just the spot we needed in terms of having a secluded place to relax and experience some authenticity whilst also having Hidden Well as a base to explore nearby places. The family of Sudana was amazingly friendly and helpful and the same goes for Narina even though she was communicating from a distance - superb hosting! Could easily come back another time!
Come here if you want to live the calm and more local Bali life. We came from Canggu and had to adjust a little bit, since like in the description, it's very different. What you will find here is a calm and beautiful beach, amazing people and a more authentic Bali experience. However, there are fewer (fancy) restaurants than in other parts and generally fewer amenities. As it's right in a forest, be prepared to share your room with a gecko or two. If you know what you want, this is an amazing place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Narina, Komang, Sudana and the whole host family were amazingly welcome. Things like the included Buffalo walk were a highlight for us, since it allows you to get to know the locals and more about the country. Narina also shared a list of things to-do in the area, which really helped. So all in all, if you want calm and a more authentic / rural Bali you'll be amazingly happy here.

Wonderful. Different from the typical Bali stays. Great secluded location with a short walk to the ocean and within shooting distance of good restaurants and surfable waves. Narina is extremely helpful with everything.
The Hidden Well is beautiful, Narina is a great host and you feel at home from the beginning. We would have loved to stay longer and will definitely come back when we are in Bali again. The stay was the best Airbnb experience I have had so far and I think it will be hard to top that in the future.

The staff were incredible; friendly, helpful, caring, joyful. The location is serene and gorgeous. The list goes on! I must say Narina’s place has a different vibes from all the ones I went to. The hideaway is uniquely designed, mixing traditional and modern approach. I’m surprised how well it’s mixed, it got a certain identity. There’s a lot of thing that we like, but I personally super like the hot/cold bamboo shower as well as pak Sudana’s welcoming personality. They also prepared some raw food materials if we want to cook/drink something. Thoughtful. Minor downside is there was a lot of insects (which we actually expected) but we didn’t expect bees. Me and partner got stung from the one who died in floor. It’s nature, just to remind to use sandals 😜 Thanks Narina and pak Sudana & fam!
Our favorite place to stay in Bali. Off the beaten track & reminiscent of what Bali must have been like long ago. Staying in the jungle, walking to the beach, local culture, good surf. Nina’s communication is fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone looking for simplicity with a hint of solitude.
Hidden Well is a delightful place to stay. It just feels like coming home. It’s lovely to have the beach just a quick jungle jaunt away, and the area is super peaceful. It’s a perfect spot to get away and take life slowly. Narina, Komang and Kadek are incredible hosts, really above and beyond anything I’ve experienced on Airbnb.

Narina and her team were all incredibly responsive and accommodating. The cottage itself is the perfect little getaway from busier parts of the island. We really enjoyed our time in the accommodations, and it was fully enclosed and safe for our pup to roam around in.
We loved the hidden well!! My friend, her dog and I went up to Medewi for the weekend and enjoyed the peace & quiet amidst the jungle! The cottage was super cute and clean, the bedsheets, towels, everything smelled super fresh as well- which especially during rainy season can be challenging im the tropics. So we felt super comfortable right away. We loved all the details about the place, the beautiful sitting area, the outdoor bathroom, the closeness to the beach. Narina & co. were very proactive, providing us with loads of information about the area, restaurants, beaches etc. Will definitely come back and can only recommend the hidden well! :) terima kasih untuk semuanya!
A lovely secluded location. A special space to get away from the hectic-ness of the other parts of the island. Spend an age wandering the beach and enjoying Bali of yesteryear. The house is lovingly finished with a super comfy bed and some beautiful touches. If you just want to switch off and chill stay here.
This was hands-down the best experience I had during my month in Bali, and I recommend it to anyone looking to escape from the crowds and have a more authentic experience. First, the bungalow itself is cute, cozy, and super well decorated. I especially enjoyed morning walks along the private beach and the freshly ground Indonesian coffee. It's the perfect place to settle in with a book and truly relax. I also found the WiFi reliable enough for working remotely. Narina is really sweet and informative, so I felt prepared and cared for before my stay even started. Most importantly, the host's Balinese family helps facilitate such a genuine and special experience! Their hospitality was outstanding from the moment I arrived, as I was greeted at the property personally and with fresh coconut water. I truly felt like they were there to help me with anything I needed during my stay. I walked through their rice field and got to meet the pink buffalo, and it was honestly one of my favorite things I did on my entire trip. One of their family members even took me to the morning market so I could experience the local village market and try some new foods. A beautiful space and even more beautiful people- do not hesitate to book!
I had a completely wonderful stay at the Hidden Well. Exactly as per the listing and previous reviews, this was the most special Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. The Hidden Well is beautiful, the location in the plantations and so near the sea, is extraordinary, and the communications throughout with Narina, Mark, Komang and Kadek were fantastic. I’ve never felt so truly cared for and taken care of by Airbnb hosts … as an addition, wherever I went locally everyone knows Narina and Mark, so I felt I was stepping into and looked out for by a whole wider network and community. West Bali, and the Hidden Well, what an amazing place. Thank you all for sharing it with others!
Stayed here as part of my birthday staycation and enjoyed every bit! A very cute hut near the beach, and has a good kitchen. Recommended!
It was such a wonderful experience to stay in such a lovely accommodation surrounded by nature. It was very attractive to be able to walk to the beach in one minute. The open-air shower was wonderful. It was great to be constantly listening to the sounds of nature. I would stay there again!!

Hidden Well is a wonderful place with a beautiful beach just behind the house. Every day here was an adventure for us. People here are very nice and friendly. we really liked it here.
This place is the perfect getaway for surfer, people who love the nature and some peaceful time without the big city hussle. If you rent a scooter (the staff is very helpful and arranges everything for you!) you are close to everything you need. Make sure to have a look at the map, Narina and Mark will send you, as well as their book. You will find great tips for the area and will have a remarkable time in West Bali. And for chess lovers, Nal‘s kitchen has not only great food but also a chess board :)

Wonderful place to stay. The host was A+ on communication, and the Balinese owners were lovely people. The place was so peaceful, and close to a very quiet and long beach, that was perfect for long walks. The attention to detail to the amenities throughout the space was great. Awesome outdoor bathroom / secret garden. We took our dog and he loved it too. Plus a great bed, and if you need it A/C in the bedroom. I would highly recommend this place, and are very likely to book again in the future.
Hidden Well is a wonderful place to stay-- for a few days or longer! It's an amazing retreat from the bustle and tourists of Bali. We enjoyed quiet alone time and walks on the beach. Communication with Narina is excellent and the welcome we received was exceptional. We hope to return for a longer stay.
Hidden Well is a wild, rare and precious gem tucked within the coconut groves of West Bali nestled next to the sea. There is a hidden well here and yes, it is a place well hidden. It is a place to rest, restore and be inspired in by the energy that Hidden Well offers in its color, comfort and location. It is quite a mystical place. Communication with both Narina and Sudana, the hosts, was impeccable. They made me feel at home, welcomed and greatly cared for. They made everything easy. There is so much thought and love invested into this sacred space. Follow your heart for often we don't know the purpose of where it leads until we have come and gone. I thank the energy of Hidden Well for singing its song to me. It was a portal for my journey...my soul is still sipping on the medicine.

This is a really wonderful place! First of all me and my boyfriend would highly recommend this Airbnb as it was so nice to stay in the nature close to the beach in a quiet and beautiful area of Bali where you feel the local Charme the most. The hidden well is decorated so cute, it has a nice outside kitchen and bathroom and offers everything you need. The communication with Narina was more than great, she gave us many advices where to go, where to eat and where we can do activities. The housekeeping family was the best, we spend New Year’s Eve with them and did a cooking class and a walk with their pink Buffalo. Also the recommended Rasta Café was a great experience for us. Go see West Bali by yourself, we are sure you will love it, especially staying at hidden well, as it is such a wonderful place to relax. Thank you so much for everything!

We had a magical time at Hidden Well, such a beautiful home nestled amongst the banana trees, surrounded by an abundance of nature and just a few steps from a stunning tranquil beach. The service provided was second to none, from the welcome WhatsApp group ensuring everything ran smoothly to the welcome drinks and fruit. We also loved the tours and getting to know Sundana's family. We ordered delicious food from the local eateries; the home had everything we needed; I can't think of anything that was missed. Wow! My husband and I enjoyed every moment of our stay at Hidden Well. The location is amazing. We loved having easy access to the expansive beach that felt completely private. Another highlight is being tucked away in the trees, waking up to birds singing along, and ending the evening with beautiful star filled skies. Narina, Sudana, Komang and Kadek are the best. They are all so kind and helpful, we adore them all. Highly recommend staying at Hidden Well. And also checking out the Buffalo and paddy walk. We will definitely be back.

The property is located in very remote area, surrounded by banana plantation, the house is not totally secluded, there is local neighbors house just behind the fence, you won’t see them but you’ll hear them. It’s not really disturbing but just to know. The house itself is very nice and comfortable, well equipped kitchen, a bit smaller than it seemed on the photos, but very cozy anyway. The WiFi was working very slow. The host is very responsive, answered very quickly on all questions and the arrival is very well organized. The beach is a real gem, it’s located 5 min walk from the house through banana plantation and is the most beautiful beach on Bali I’ve ever seen. One thing which was quite disturbing, the big group of local teenagers gathered every sunset for bike racing on the beach right in the place where you enter the beach. They are very loud and have loud bikes and you can hear their bikes even from the house, so if you’d like to enjoy the sunsets on the beach you have to walk kilometer away east direction from that crowd, but the day and morning time is precious and quite and you could find yourself alone on the giant wide stretching beach. We really enjoyed walking in the morning and overall, it’s a good place to relax away from everything.
Hidden Well is a special place... tucked away in the midst of a banana grove miles away from everything. Feels like you're totally off the grid and yet you have everything you need right at your fingertips. Stay in and read a book in the quiet comfort of the bungalow, take a short walk to a secluded beach or drive just a short distance to everything Medewi has to offer. This is not your everyday stay in Bali. Nina and Sudana offered up plenty of local tips and advice and lead me to some of the best food and most amazing views I've ever had in Indonesia. Wish I had more time to spend in this magical place.
What a gem! Hidden well is a home away from home. The first 2 days we did not leave the house because we felt so at peace. We spent our days relaxing in the garden and having long beach walks. To reach the beach you just walk 2 minutes trough a banana plantation. It's a black beach and there is almost no development, very quiet and peaceful. The garden is lush and there are moringa and papaya trees. We ordered fresh veggies and fruit from the morning market which were brought to us by Sudana's family. On day 3 we rented a bike from them and explored the area. There are tons of scenic routes, in the mountains and near the beach. Mark and Narina know the area like the back of their hand. They gave us so many tips about what to visit in the area. If you are into surfing, only 15 minutes driving from HW you have Medewi. This is the longest left hander of Bali. It's a gentle reef break for all levels. Even Kelly Slater enjoyed it a few days ago! We are definitely coming back! Sampai jumpa!
Staying at Hidden Well is so refreshing. With its quirky colours and peaceful surroundings. The shower and bath is amazing. Narina and Sudana are really good host. They give you warm welcome and. provide you a map of the area. The waterfall is a must go! The Ikan Bakar at the restaurant nearby is super delicious and it takes less than 5mins ride. We enjoyed our time there. Thank you!
We felt totally at home from the moment we arrived. The community and local family were super helpful and made the whole experience incredibly welcoming. We loved waking to the birdsong and the village sound of cockerels and sipping coffee in the rocking chair or sitting on the patio at dusk watching swallows and listening to the cicada-chorus. The bathroom is a delight – powerful open-air shower…and the world’s best bath! The short stroll through the banana plantation and coconut palms to the wild (and usually totally deserted) beach was a privilege and we enjoyed exploring the area as a whole. Hidden Well is the sort of secluded gem you dream of but rarely find - a place you wish you could never leave. We will be back one day and would recommend Hidden Well to anyone.
Hidden well is a truly amazing place. Narina, Mark, Sudana, Ketut and Komang all helped make it such a special experience by being so welcoming and helpful and quick to respond to any queries we had. The location of the hidden well is a great contrast from other parts of Bali (Ubud and Seminyak) we visited on our trip. The hidden well is only a few minutes walk from a almost deserted beautiful black sand beach. Its a very private and romantic place to stay and to unwind from the more hectic parts of Bali. I would reccomend staying at hidden well to anyone going Bali.
Just wrapped up a near-perfect stay at Hidden Well. It's exactly as charming as the photos suggest, the hosts are happy + hospitable, and the neighbourhood is wonderfully removed from the chaos and posturing of Seminyak etc. You'll need a bike to get around unless you plan to walk (and walk) the empty beach daily, and the local hotels and warungs make for enough variety in what you eat, assuming you don't want to use the ample kitchen. Wifi + LTE signal sucks - it comes and goes with the wind - so if that's an issue for you, camp out further back from the beach or be patient :)
I loved my stay in Hidden Well. I needed a break from reality and it was exactly that. The house is perfectly designed with a beautiful light throughout and a garden that feels like an extension of the house. The huge outdoor bathroom full of plants, allows you to walk around naked in nature, dancing in the rain, without anybody knowing. The wooden bathtub under the stars has to be experienced. The host, Sudana was very helpful on check-in, showing me everything from light switches to spare charging cables. During my stay he always made sure I had everything I needed, without intruding. The area is green and quiet, the beach is almost empty apart from some fishermen and still, little cafes, the night market and surf is only a short scooter ride away. This may seem over the top, but this is exactly how it felt. Thank you for creating and sharing this gem.
Hidden Well is a great place to experience a part of Bali which is still untrammelled by hordes of tourists. Upon arrival we were greeted with traditional blessings and fresh coconut. And throughout our stay we felt blessed and refreshed by the serene surroundings. Because traffic is so light we felt comfortable renting the available scooter allowing us to visit local restaurants and sites with ease.

The hidden well is a magical place and an oasis of calm. The shower was a personal highlight. Rinsing the day off in twilight under the palm trees. The accommodation is beautiful and private. The hosts are friendly, helpful and informative. From a local set of guide pages, organising a scooter, sorting out a laundry pick up (incredible value!) This is a great place to spend time with your partner and really be together.
Stay at hidden well was an incredible experience, the place is so beautiful, everything is perfect with a lot of attention for the details. At the check in they explain us everything about the house and they help us with a map of the area, place to visit, restaurants to try and some experiences to do. Truly a magical place where you can get away from the tourist areas of Canggu, Ubud, Semiyak and other parts of Bali. Pekutatan is tucked away from the main road, just off a beautiful black sand beach. It was a dream for me and my friend. We loved just relaxing outside on the porch, listening to the palm trees sway and the ocean waves. It's not right on the beach, just about a 5 minute walk through a private entrance made by Sudana. You can expect excellent service and to be treated like a member of the family. Highly recommend!!!
This is my second visit to hidden well. It’s perfect for me I love being surrounded in nature among the palm forests, were the beach is basically the back garden! It’s back to nature but includes all creature comforts, amenities and utilities. The massive wooden bath is just the cherry on the top. Many evenings, during my ten day stay I relaxed under the moon and stars in my steaming watery luxury. I love to walk so the beach is perfect and there are two resort spa style complex’s on that walk so often I would stop in for a meal or drink and use their pool which you are most welcome to do. For 5 star resorts three food is lovely but Not expensive I was pleasantly surprised. I’m on my way back to crazy Kuta with my driver right now, I am fully recharged and totally relaxed, thanks Hidden Well my stay was amazing jungle noises and nature all around in luxury. Jp x
Hidden Well is a hidden gem. As we were looking for a quiet place were we could relax and stay away from hectic touristic area, this one was just perfect. The place is beautifully designed with a bathroom on open air with wooden bathtub. We went for a dinner to a night market that was recommended to us and that was a real local feast. Thank you for creating such an amazing place.
Sudana & Narina are incredible hosts - certainly some of the best I've had! They are incredibly kind, responsive and available to assist with whatever you need (and at times well beyond). Narina went out of her way to accommodate our request to stay around another booking and not only helped us arrange a driver and scooter rental, but also navigating our visas and getting to a local healer to tend to an injured wrist. Hidden Well is a lovely sanctuary and the space itself is made all the better by the great hosts. If you're looking for a home away from home away from the hustle and bustle of developed Bali life and you're down with nature and all of its offerings, then this is for you. You must stay at Hidden Well. It feels like home as soon as you arrive. Everything is wonderful about this place. Sundana, Kadek and their family are wonderful and generous and with Narina have made a beautifully designed house. Hire a scooter and you’ll never want to leave. The roads around Hidden Well are simply the best to ride along on your 3 minute ride to warungs. So as I said, you must stay here if you’re in the area!
Staying at Sudana and Narina’s place was an absolute joy. Tucked away in the jungle with the sound of the ocean nearby, this beautiful home is a slice of luxury with thoughtful touches and attention to detail. We loved sitting in the yellow rocking chair watching the birds and butterflies pass through the lovely garden. A long soak in the giant wooden tub under the stars was another highlight of our stay. The black and white photographs of Sudana’s family carry a beautiful energy. We felt right at home and slept peacefully. We will definitely return to Hidden Well next time we are in this magical part of West Bali. Highly recommended. 😌
I rarely write reviews, a place would have to be very special for me to write one. Hidden Well near Medewi, West Bali was Enchanting. It exceeded all my expectations, myself and my fiancée did not want to leave ! The cottage seems to Sing like its environment, it was so peaceful, yet so alive with nature. I had the best nights sleep in a really comfortable bed. Everything was sparkling clean in the house ! Including the village in which the cottage is set. There was REAL fresh coffee beans! a grinder and two types of coffee machine ! Woohoo 🤗 50m from the back garden was a secluded beach and 7 minutes up the road an awesome Point Break (amazing for surfing) We mostly ate food at a local Warong 2 mins away called Paon Warong that sold cottage pie ! Yes cottage pie in Bali ! Yumm. We also ate at a near by 5 star hotel to treat ourselves and had s lovely romantic dinner there. The hosts Narina And Sudarna were really nice and left us to our own space after explaining where everything was. But if we needed them they were only moments away. Sudarna showed us an amazing hidden waterfall. I am really looking forward to returning to Hidden Well. It is my pleasure to highly recommend this cottage to you.
