Exploring Jala: Entire villa with private pool and kitchen left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.

The virtual preview of Jala: Entire villa with private pool and kitchen was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Gianyar plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.

I found the tour for Jala: Entire villa with private pool and kitchen painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.

It was vert quiet and peaceful! If you are looking for a place to relax and just enjoy the nature. This is the place. Can’t describe how beautiful the stars were at night when everything was dark and quiet. Ira and the staff were very quick to respond and caring. Thanks you.

We stayed 3 nights at Masakali retreat and had such a great stay. All the staff was very friendly and responsive, and the nature surrounding the villa is amazing. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a peaceful place, close to nature. Special thanks to the staff who sent us a driver, after we forgot some clothes, to bring it us back.

Maskali felt like a paradise on earth for us. I started reaching out to Ira for arrangements a month before my stay and she was always so responsive and accommodating. The villa was beautiful and so peaceful, and was beyond our expectations. Thank you to Ira and her team of staff for being so welcoming to us. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We were absolutely amazed by this beautiful little space. Right in peaceful nature, comfy bed, quiet nights, away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud but close enough for daily trips. We enjoyed a relaxing massage in our bungalow, went canyoning,rafting and atv riding - which all can be organised through Ira.(the property manager) . The staff was super friendly and went above and beyond for us. The food at Masakali is delicious and there’s also the amazing Warung Umah around the corner. To sum up our stay: we loved it and can definitely recommend to stay here!

I love this place so much that I stayed for another night. I stayed at Chandra on my first day and Jala for 2 days + extra day. This place left me speechless from day 1 until checkout. The place is stunning and even better than the pictures shown here. The joglo houses were masterfully crafted as well as every details inside and out of the house. I would also consider each of the staff here as an asset to making our stay the best it could possibly be. This is luxury, serenity, away from chaos of kuta. The best staff, the food was great as well. I’ve had the best sleep of my life here. It’s been a pleasure Suzanne and Ira, the best of luck and see you soon

My stay at Malasaki was wonderful! I was feeling quite unwell from heatstroke, but I was so well looked after, I still enjoyed my stay very much :) Ira and Suzanne made sure I had everything I needed and went above and beyond, all the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I'd be back in a heartbeat, beautiful villa and view which surpassed my expectations! Incredible view of Mt Batur and rice paddies. So peaceful, super clean, extensive information on check in and available before as well, and very comfortable bed. I couldn't fault anything. I will hopefully be back in future, thank you XX

My husband and I came to Masakali for our 25th wedding anniversary and could not have chosen better. Even months prior to check in, Suzanne and her staff were making all the arrangements to make it a once in a lifetime experience including arranging flowers in the pool that said “Happy Anniversary” to Ira arranging traditional clothes for us to borrow and dress in for a romantic candle lit dinner with 5 courses and service right at our villa. The magic and romance was next level, nothing that I can even describe in words. You really have to experience it to understand. We especially loved the fact we were in a village and able to interact with the villagers as they worked in the rice fields or as we came and went on the many amazing tours that our awesome tour guide Kantu took us on. Seeing the fireflies in the rice fields was also a highlight as we had never experienced anything like it before. Thank you to all the staff Masakali that made our holiday one to remember.

First impression at masakali was how kind and a accommodating the staff was. We also found the properties quite unique compared to others in the area. To us it's clear the owners of the property have taken into consideration their competition in Bali and found great unique ways to add value and go above and beyond for the guest

Après avoir séjourné à la villa Chandra nous avons ensuite été à la villa Jala, nous avons aimé les deux ! Les deux offres un cadre magnifique, un petit coin de paradis. Le personnel est d’une grande gentillesse ce qui rend le séjour encore plus beau.

This is the best place we stayed during our stay in Bali. We love everything about the place especially the interior design, location, pool, food and the environment. We love the fact that the place has kitchen where you can cook your food. The staffs are so accommodating and warm. The host is very passionate and responsive. If you want to have a very peaceful and marvelous then book this accommodation for more than two nights because one day isn’t enough. We had sepanx after leaving the place because it really felt like home even we just stay for a night so we highly suggest to book at least three days or more. We will definitely go back and book this place for a week!

We had a very enjoyable day at the villa. It’s a small, cozy complex of villas, secluded in a stunning part of Bali, with amazing views of rice fields, huts, jungles and mountains. The villa itself is super comfortable and has beautiful furniture. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can order tasty dinner and breakfast was included, which was a pleasant surprise! When we stayed there was a bit of construction going on nearby, but we were warned in advance and it didn’t bother us too much. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time in the Jala villa, in the middle of the jungle with a view on rice fields. The staff was super friendly and kept everything very clean. The breakfast was very good - there were many options you could choose from. It’s about 15min away from Tegallalang rice fields and also 15min away from a rafting spot. We would definitely come again!!!

Really lovely stay and very clean. We really enjoyed it. As there are not really restaurants nearby we also used the app Gojek to order food and it worked well.

Calme et sérénité sont les maitres mots de cet hébergement. Villa propre et personnel d’une gentillesse incroyable. Très bien indiqué et facile à trouver. Nous serions volontiers rester plus longtemps s’il y avait de la place!

Schwierig zu finden - die Adresse bei Airbnb war falsch (etwa 10 Minuten entfernt) Schöne Anlage! Und sehr freundliches Personal! Allerdings mit Schweinestall gegenüber. Durch den Bau weiterer Anlagen war es sehr unruhig und es sind ständig Bauarbeiter vor unserer Terrasse unterwegs gewesen.

What a location! Stayed at two different villas (Jala and Chandra) in the premises and both were beyond amazing. They both had their own personal touches and charm that is unique to their own. Chandra is more private but Jala felt more cozier in our opinion. The staff is super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure all our needs are met. They helped us with arranging airport pick up service, renting a scooter as well as with laundry. The driver was at the airport when we arrived and kept us informed since our flight landed. The scooter was already parked and ready at the accommodation with 2 helmets. It was a reliable scooter as I drove it across Bali with no issues. Do not hesitate to book as Suzanne and her staff will make sure that your Bali experience will be nothing but memorable.

We loved our stay, was very quite & relaxing, beautiful area. Friendly helpful staff, lush gardens, cosy bed & we loved the traditional joglo building. Working rice fields right next door. Close enough to ride on the bike to Ubud for a day trip.

Excellent little villa, ideal for single travellers or a couple. Beautiful traditional design with careful thought into all the lovely little details. The use of timber everywhere gives an amazing effect and separates this place from the usual boring concrete villas. Wonderful private pool overlooking the rice fields and jungle. Staff are kind, friendly and provide an excellent service if you want to order food and drinks. We had such a nice time here we upgraded to the larger villa 'Surya' next door!

The staff are such friendly, warm and loving people. They don't do anything because they have to, but they do it because they want to with their heart and soul. They want to make your stay memorable and let you have the time of your life. The property is in such gorgeous state, so clean, so lush and green. All thanks to the wonderful staff. When we set foot on this property it just made us so emotional, because of it's beauty. We can literally see locals working on the rice terraces while having a swim. They are also so friendly and are happy to see tourists and meet you. The food was delicious, healthy, everything you need and want can be arranged. They also offer massages in your own villa and other special treatments. We've had a flowerbath and floating breakfast! So lovely!!!! This place just deserves to be known by everyone and you're truely missing out if you didn't stay here!!! The location is a little bit out of Ubud, but you can go anywhere with the scooter. The rides itself are so pleasant and beautiful, so you just have to rent a scooter! Which can also be arranged at the property for very good prices! I just can't say anything bad about this place. It's heaven on earth! I want to go back already!!!! ♥♥♥

If you are looking for a peaceful place close to nature stay at; this is the place to be! The resort is quiet and gives you the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The room was very clean and everything was exactly as in the pictures. If you prefer to cool yourself it’s possible in a small kitchen in the front which includes everything you need. The bathroom was very nice and clean as well. Since the villa is in the middle of rice paddies there are some insects (as can be expected) but the villa has everything you need from mosquito spray to the in-scents to keep the insects away. The communictaion with the hist was effortless and everything from check-in to check-out went very smoothly. The staff the resort is amazing: very helpful and friendly. They make sure you have eberything you need. I came with my dog and they even helped me to buy some food for her as well. Will definitely be coming back soon again and wpuld reccommend staying here for anyone who is looking for a super relaxing and peaceful stay.

MAGICAL!! That’s the first thing your heart will pour out when arriving to Masakali “which means to fly high” and the concept is finding balance in life within ourselves and our surroundings and in the choices we make and take. The road to Masakali is enchanting , you’ll be stopping a lot to take photos and videos. My connection with the Owner Suzanne was a very sacred one - being the first one at the Jala Villa (there are 3 villas Jala, Chandra and Surya and each have their own charm) Jala for me was special because that’s how I saw the Balinese culture seeing the locals and children play and swim in the river, being inspired by how both women and men work and carry literally “anything” on their heads. You also get the view of the Balinese King right across which gives that lush vibe soaking in the rice fields of pure stillness. Chandra has a breathtaking view and is more private than Jala while Surya is the largest and more spacious. Jala was my hidden gem especially as its first tenant, so it holds a special space for me. It all depends what you’re looking for 😊 The workers were like family, Tunic, Nyoman, Ira and the wonderful chefs. Leaving to move down south, I truly felt like a left a piece of my heart there in the stillness of my sunrise meditation amidst the Balinese rice fields and the secrets they hold. Suzanne, the owner, has a heart of gold. We connected on healing and miracle stories, which I’m sure she will tell tales of internationally as the inspiring woman she is being to 126 countries. This was not a goodbye but until soon while I collaborate with Suzanne and Masakali to provide a Heal Pray Love Retreat at the Yoga Shala that is being built 🤩 and I am SO thrilled about - because that feeling younger from being soaked in the heart of Kelusa’s village does something to you that changes you forever. Just open your heart and surrender to receive. If you’re looking for a true Balinese experience, then this is a MUST! The homes are Javanese built — while the Shala is being built Suzanne is also creating waste management programs for the village and creating greening sustainability programs — in fact she did not build her villas on rice fields, it was empty land. It was her values that truly inspired me further as she is on a mission to change the lives of people through what she birthed and continues to in protecting and preserving the land while giving back to Bali - ps Masakali family are locally hired - another way Suzanne empowers communities. Coming here, you’re not coming to a villa - you’re coming for a holistic life altering experience 😊
