Exploring Ki Ma Ya Sanctuary, At One with Nature left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.

The virtual preview of Ki Ma Ya Sanctuary, At One with Nature was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Bali plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.

I found the tour for Ki Ma Ya Sanctuary, At One with Nature painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.

This space is lovely. Not exactly as described in the listing however. For example, there was supposedly a ‘healthy cafeteria’ on site, and there was not. No food really close by. I recommend bringing food with you or being prepared to rent a bike/taxi into town to get lunch/dinner. It also states that it’s a yoga retreat and I thought yoga, sound baths, meditation etc was included in the price. It was not. A bit overpriced for this area compared to other resorts that have more amenities and offerings. The breakfast was wonderful! The space was clean and very peaceful (minus the roosters, frogs and other nature sounds). Also, the host was very responsive. This location was a bit hard to find and no signage outside of the home… also not very walkable to much. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.

An amazing place, air conditioned and authentic. Fantastic breakfast. Make sure you have wifi before you leave airport, very hard to find without it. Not far from pyramid of chi. Shared water tub as a pool with other guests, yoga only by arrangement. No vegetarian cafe on site and was a little hard to find out what was around in the area and on offer.

This place is indeed the most beautiful of all places. Location... Wow. Decor, beautiful.... So much care has been taken. Breakfast delivered.. Fabulous. Water provided. Local shop and cafe 5 min walk. Dewa who manages does everything possible for you. He is a total gem. The only downside was the neighbours noisy cockerels that started every morning at 4am and went on for hours. It disturbed our sleep and peace. Such a shame. Then on an afternoon again for another hour or so. Unless this was rectified for the future I would not unfortunately return because of that. Maybe if you are from Bali and are accustomed to this noise it wouldn't be a problem?

This was our absolute favorite stay during our trip, by far. Words can’t describe how beautiful the view is from the villa, and how gorgeous every detail is inside and outside! We loved our breakfasts, mornings in the yoga shala, and the amazing soundbath offered. We didn’t care at all about being outside Ubud center, in fact we preferred that as this area has the nature, many activities, and the authentic feel of Bali. Thank you so much Dewi, Maitreya, and the rest of the amazing staff 🙏❤️

Kimaya is, without a doubt, my favorite place to stay in Bali. I’ve stayed in many beautiful places over the years, but there’s something truly special about Kimaya. It’s a place where you can fully exhale, slow down, and reconnect with yourself. The surroundings are breathtaking, the sounds of nature are incredibly calming, and every detail—from the architecture to the décor—has been designed with such intention and care. There is a peaceful energy here that is hard to put into words.

I've travelled all over the world and this was one of my favourite AirBNB experiences. Absolutely beautiful, great location (as you don't want to really stay in the heart of Ubud as it's become quite touristy) but also really easy to get in and out of the town centre if you want to visit places. Stunning location, really clean, well thought out, and beautiful and unique accommodation. I don't want to ruin the surprise, but just go and stay :)

A truly exceptional stay and more gorgeous than already stunning photos. The Javanese style villas were beautiful, immaculate, serene, and designed with such thoughtful detail, it was a private sanctuary. The entire property was beautifully maintained, and infused with a sense of calm that made it impossible not to unwind, especially pool side. The included breakfast was a highlight each morning (as was the sunrise) with fresh, generous, and well prepared ingredients. What made the stay even more special was the host’s attentiveness. Dewi checked in just enough to ensure we were completely comfortable, while still giving us total privacy. Every detail from the authenticity, the cleanliness to the small gestures of hospitality made us feel genuinely looked after. Highly recommend these villas to anyone seeking beauty, peace, and exceptional service in Ubud. And great location next to yoga studios, spas and yummy restaurants. We’ll definitely stay again! It's a nice and peaceful place surrounded by a beautiful jungle.

Pictures don’t do this place justice, it’s even more beautiful in reality and an absolute steal for the price. You get a spacious, private cabin completely immersed in a beautiful tropical forest. You can see the incredible effort poured into every detail: scenic showers with gorgeous views, a serene pool area, cozy little nooks, tranquil lily ponds, and a stunning open yoga deck featuring 100-year-old woodwork. It really is a true sanctuary. Dewi and his husband help arrange yoga sessions, sound healing, and cold plunges, and the breakfast is organic and delicious. We had many things planned for Ubud, but after seeing how gorgeous and peaceful Kimaya is, we ended up cancelling half of our plans to spend more time here. Do yourself a favor and experience this retreat. It was our favorite part of the entire Bali experience by far.

Amazing stay at Dewi’s place. The location is incredibly beautiful, with the peaceful jungle in front of the room. Every furniture and decor piece carefully chosen. The pool was amazing and so clean. Definitely recommend this place.

Dewi’s villa was perfect for our 5-night stay. The hut is beautiful & spotlessly clean, a comfy king-size bed, mosquito netting, a quiet air-conditioner. The real draw is the setting. The veranda looks across to mountains & jungle — we spent hours there reading, chatting, watching the weather. A couple of overnight thunderstorms were magical: rain on the roof & sounds of wildlife, soothing rather than loud. The pool, patio & yoga shala are lovely, w/ the same jungle backdrop. Dewi & her staff were warm, generous & kind. She gave us a dinner suggestion that was the best meal of the trip, 25 mins by scooter. New scooters for rent w/ helmets (Ubud centre is 15–20 mins away, so you get the quiet without being cut off) Kitchenette was great for morning coffee & a couple dinners in. Breakfasts included were a highlight: smoothie bowl w/ granola, nasi goreng, black rice pudding w/ coconut, fresh juices. Dewi also arranged a driver to take us to our next accommodation. Highly recommended!

This place is like a dream! It is easily the best stay we found in Ubud and one of the highlights of our entire trip. We felt completely immersed in nature within such pleasant surroundings. The villa is well-maintained, and the location is very easy to reach. The pool is simply amazing, but the absolute best part of our stay was the breakfast. Everything was cleaned daily, and the hosts were incredibly helpful, making our stay a truly worthwhile experience. 😀🌴

This is one of the last unspoilt havens around Ubud. No traffic noise, a jungle valley outlook, local quiet streets, divine hosts, a private dance floor overlooking wilderness (subject to availability) for yoga or meditation. Everything about this place is a haven. Dewi and Maitreya and their exquisite staff provided every single thing we needed with elegant simplicity. The breakfasts are stunning. The gardens are so restful. Butterflies and birds everywhere. Lotus flowers and water lilies. The cottages are traditional architecture, so I felt like I was back 30 years before Bali was over-run, but with every comfort. If you stay here, you won’t want to leave.

Dewi's space is stunningly beautiful and tucked away in the jungle. I was so appreciative of the very comfortable outdoor sofa and bed. The setup felt home-y and vert well cared for with no detail overlooked. The space offered tremendous privacy which was great for relaxing in nature. Breakfast offering is outstanding. Would love to return for more time there.

This Airbnb is a true haven! It is a truly beautiful property within the beauty of the jungle. It's around a 15min scooter ride into the town of Ubud - which is great to be close enough but in a quiet spot. The pool area is stunning. There is also a Shala for yoga, and I practiced alone and with the owner on a couple of mornings - it was heaven. They also offered sound meditation. Breakfast every morning was delicious. Communication was great, and they organised scooters for us too. Couldn't praise this place more highly - already wanting to get back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed here for six nights and would’ve gladly stayed longer! The staff, owners, and property are absolutely wonderful. The villa itself is beautiful with that authentic Balinese style, plus an amazing outdoor bathtub and bathroom. The pool is stunning with incredible views. Truly peaceful, especially at night. We loved the sound meditation session and enjoyed massages right by the pool, such a serene experience. The owners arranged a driver for us, which I highly recommend. The traffic in Bali is no joke and driving yourself is stressful. 😩 (We tried it & returned the car) The location was perfect: quiet, scenic, and only about seven minutes from downtown Ubud for restaurants, shops, and temples. It’s also close to gorgeous rice terraces and waterfalls. Also walking distance to wonderful, quiet and beautiful restaurants with way less people than downtown. We recommend Tini Kitchen!! Can’t say enough good things — highly, highly recommend staying here!

Such a beautiful place to stay with great hosts! Perfect location too with great scenery. As usual, it gets loud at night from nature sounds so highly recommend bringing earplugs to Bali! Breakfast was included with our stay and locally made right here so that was such a nice added touch. Felt right at home!

Not many words to describe this place other than magic. Beautiful accommodations, immaculately clean, comfortable bed. I came here for a couple days to check out and fully relax. This property is peaceful and serene outside of hectic Ubud center. I felt very safe here as a solo female traveler. The breakfast every morning delivered to my room was also delicious. I cannot wait to be back.

A Dreamy Oasis in Ubud 🌿 Staying at this villa felt like stepping into a hidden oasis. From the moment we arrived, everything was just beautiful—lush surroundings, peaceful vibes, and a villa that smelled amazing and felt like home. What is there not to like! A peaceful oasis just outside of Ubud’s main hustle. We loved everything! Chalet Buddha was perfect. The out door bath ,the jungle views the magnificent breakfasts - all just amazing. We enjoyed the yoga as well as the sound meditation. We cannot praise this air bnb enough . Un mot : exceptionnel ! Sur les photos, le logement semblait déjà incroyable mais en arrivant sur les lieux c’était encore mieux que ce que j’espérais! Si vous cherchez du calme, n’hésitez plus c’est un vrai havre de paix. Toute l’équipe était au petit soin et très discrets. Vous avez un large choix de petits déjeuner qui sont très copieux et vraiment délicieux avec que des produits frais. Allez-y sans hésiter vous ne regretterez pas de passer par ce petit coin de paradis.

What a dream! This was one of the best AirBnB we ever stayed in. What a tranquil and peaceful place. Spacious, beautiful architecture and comfy beds. The area is so peaceful and quiet. Wake up with the sounds of the birds. Plan yoga or meditation sessions right in your villa.

This space was full of nature. You hear the occasional moto bike but other than that roosters, geckos and the jungle. The only downside was that I attracted all the mosquitoes. They do provide natural spray but the mosquitoes loved my sweet blood. It is a safe space to be and close enough to Ubud. So much beauty here. The pool was absolutely amazing and the yoga/meditation space was well used. I would recommend to solo and couples. Dewi and Maitreya and exceptional people. Watch your step at the entrance!

Perfect house, garden with very good taste of design. Service is great, you can get everything you want. Sometimes i would hesitate to write comment like this, as it might raise expectation, But i feel i need to be honest and objective (awareness of feeling could not be fully objective) to provide my gratitude here.

We wanted somewhere beautiful, quiet and private to spend our final week in Bali and this was a great choice! The house is beautiful, clean and well-equipped, and the outside areas are peaceful and stunning in all weathers. Dewi and her staff are delightful, helpful and prepare the best included-breakfast we found in Bali. We needed earplugs to stand a chance of sleeping through the noise of the frogs, but it was all part of the experience! We were warned there would be construction noise affecting the pool area, but we were disappointed to also hear it from the house and be woken up by hammering and workmen shouting. There was urgent safety work being carried out, but it was primarily the building of a new villa that meant our stay was never truly quiet or relaxing before 4pm. Dewi kindly offered us yoga and meditation classes in compensation, but we came for peace and ended up spending a lot more time away from the house than we intended, which was a shame because it is lovely.

I stayed in a few different places in Bali, I think this place was definitely my favourite. The host was very helpful when needed, food was great and the view from the property was amazing. I wish I stayed here longer.

Dewi's accomodation was the best thing I saw on Bali (visited Bali 5x times). Everything was as beautiful as on the pictures and even more! We didn't want to leave! The house is amazing in every detail and garden around is well thoughtfully designed. You basically get big house with big terrace garden with salt pool and amazing jungle view just for yourself. No neighbors. There is no "catch", it is as awesome as you see on the pictures 🙏🌺🖤🕉️🥥🪔

We had an amazing at Dewi’s place. It was absolutely and the perfect Bali experience. Away from the bustle of town and peaceful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are open to the outside and while we loved this it’s important to know for those who may not like critters. Dewi was very responsive. My mom loved the yoga and meditation classes that were offered. The pool was great and the breakfast was delicious. There are a couple restaurants close by to walk to but it is about a 20min car ride outside of Ubud city center.

Dewi's place was more beautiful and serene than you can imagine.. time just stops when you walk into her house.. Very different experience where you are literally one with nature. The place was very clean tastefully done. We had a lot of questions for Dewi & Maitreya yet they were very patient, warm and hospitable. They helped us with all our what offbeat to do and what unique experiences to go for questions. Dewi's breakfast meals are delicious and just the thing you want to start your day with when in Bali. On our last day we had to leave early morning, Dewi went extra mile to prepare our breakfast at night and ensured we don't leave her house empty stomach. And Yogashala! Cannot put in words what a beautiful oasis Yogashala and swimming pool area is. Perfect place to unwind, do yoga and enroll in for massage in open. We missed experiencing sound healing but hopefully would do that in future. Dewi, Maitreya and the whole team are beautiful bunch of people to spend time with!

I had the most amazing stay at Kamaya retreats. I ended up extending for 3 nights as I didn’t want to leave. Very relaxing environment and breathtaking views. Perfect location for staying in Ubud. 10 minute drive into Ubud centre. Surrounded by nature and completely away from the hussle and bustle of the city. Accommodation beautifully decorated and very clean. Dewi’s home cooked breakfasts were the best. 100% recommend and will definitely stay here again.

It was such an unforgettable experience. Dewi’s place is outstanding in terms of their stunning location, the activities at their Yoga Shala and nourishing breakfast. If you are looking for a deep connection with nature and yourself, this is the place you wanna stay. We had yoga, meditation and massage at their yoga shala, and all of them are truly wonderful. You can enjoy the sound of nature all the time. There is a nice water bath instead of a pool. You will like their selection of healthy breakfast. Great place to get calm and rejuvenate yourself.

If you want a stay that is not overly expensive but does give the experience of a 5 star property, then this is the property. It does get lonely at night with full of sounds of insects. But this is the reason you book the place to get the feel of you being part of the nature. It has the best view of the mountain. Staff is extremely polite and helpful. Food is also good. Definitely recommended.

Loved my stay here with Dewi and Maitreya. The property was beautiful and very clean. The breakfast included in the stay was so delicious and they were able to accommodate me (I have Celiac Disease). I think you have access to more things to do if you have a scooter or you can hire a driver (the owners provided me with one). They also were able to coordinate the best massage I've ever had along with a flower bath. I also did sound bowl meditation with Maitreya 2 nights which was great! 10/10 stay!

This is an amazing stay. Beautiful views from your front deck. The cold plunge pool is great for the hot Bali days and the Yoga Shala is beautiful. Despite it being an older house, it felt very clean and we surprisingly didn’t have much issue with bugs despite the surrounding jungle. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

We had an amazing experience in this pristine and magical space. The house was beautifully and tastefully done. The surrounding areas are stunning and quiet. The yoga shala and pool are magical touches to the experience. I would recommend this to everyone who enjoys a peaceful and intimate experience. The breakfast was amazing as well! And hosts are caring and warm. Loved our stay and would absolutely return!

Overall experience: Great forest view and a very nice private garden. Though you may like shower in the nature but it felt great and you certainly can have a sense that you are part of the nature. We saw a beautiful sunset there as well. The staffs were helpful and sweet. Breakfast: Delicious, highly recommend the Nasi Goreng! It was the most delicious one I have ever tried in Bali. Location: Approximately 15min motocycle ride to the center, there were light traffic jam near the Ubud Palace but it was okay. You can pre book and rent the motorbikes from Dewi directly, super convenient!! Will come here again, we really enjoy this space and had a pleasant family trip here.

Beautiful surroundings, outside of busy town centre! Lovely stay for all weather conditions. Plunge pool fantastic. We had the best massages ever organised to our rooms & sound meditation was great! Just make sure you get a good run down of your surroundings we almost missed the best parts and only found them on our last day! Brilliant experience.

Excellent location, peaceful, good if you want to spend peaceful days with nature and still just 5km away from the main Ubud central. Dewi and Maitraya were very kind and helpful through the stay. The breakfast was fantastic.

I cannot stress enough that if this place caught your eye to book it if it has dates available. I feel so blessed that I made an impromptu decision to go out to Ubud while traveling around Bali and came across Dewi’s home. There are not really words to explain the beauty of this place and how immersed you will feel into your surroundings. I also was lucky enough to take yoga classes and Tibetan bowl mediation while staying here and it was nothing short of bliss and perfection, especially since it followed with a fulfilling homemade breakfast delivered right to my porch as I was drinking fresh coffee. I will quite literally be dreaming of this Airbnb and everything the host had to offer for a long long time. I also booked an experience to hike a mountain to catch a sunrise, which I highly recommend you look for. You’ll get to go to hot springs and travel around the local area with a guide, the best part was coming home at Dewi’s to use the cold plunge just below the steps of my door.

What a wonderful stay. We extended and then we could have extended further! The jungle location is phenomenal, room is so clean, everything thoughtfully provided, breakfast was out of this world, plunge pool fantastic, yoga shala just gorgeous. If we ever come back to Bali, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thankyou so so much for hosting us!! The only thing that would make this place even more incredible would be a sign outside on the road as we scootered past at least 5 times and our taxi driver did too! But otherwise, no complaints!!!

I had a lovely stay and am happy to recommend this place. I got lucky that the unit I wanted to book was available in such short notice in the early December. This retreat is hardly have any availability in summer so plan far in advance. I loved the vibe and the rustic feeling of the old Bali which is rare nowadays. It is romantic in its own way when everything is so one with the nature. The hosts, Dewi and Maitreya, were very accommodative in preparing everything for us from breakfast to yoga and meditation. In fact they are multitalented in everything zen and well being.

our second visit there. and better than the first one. the accommodation is so peaceful. amazing room and one great bathroom with a view. the breakfast is amazing. we tried 5 of the menu, and all of it is much better than our expectations. Dewi and matreya are amazing hosts. even the cat who likes to stroll around at the porch in the morning is lovely. I don't think I would ever choose any accommodation in ubud rather than this one.

Wow... just amazing and so peaceful. Dewi's home and property is a dream honestly, and I feel honored to have gotten the chance to stay, relax, read, rest, and plunge in the refreshing water of their barrel a few times. A yoga studio, breakfast at your room...it's all a dream. Would definitely come back again!

The place deserves all the accolades it's been getting from its guests! Breakfast was probably the best we have had in a BnB! And the service was spot on! The views of the jungle are still unspoiled by any buildings across the valley...I pray it will stay that way

It looks much better than on the picture. Was really nice! The best thing was the breakfast: wow it was the best food we had in whole bali! Just amazing. The room got cleaned every day and Dewi organised us a scooter. During the night it can get quite loud but your in nature so its normal that you can hesr frogs ect. All in all was a really nice stay - we can highly recomand it :)

Staying here was nourishment for the soul & complete rejuvenation. A perfect place to find solitude and connect with nature. Dewi, the host, welcomed me with warmth and local insights. Gorgeous house and property that is even more beautiful and larger than the photos. Dewi was a very responsive and kind host - helped us organize a last-minute in-house massage which was one of the best we had on our 3-week trip! Absolutely incredible made-to-order breakfast with gourmet selections that rivals any restaurant. Grab motorbikes make an easy trip into Ubud centre. We're very happy we stayed here despite multiple great options in Ubud!

This Airbnb was so so peaceful and away from the crazy main town of Ubud, but still close enough for lunch/dinners by 10 minute taxi. The view is breathtaking with the two mountains in the background! The home and surrounding garden are absolutely beautiful and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the space, down to the fine details like the essential oil hand and body soaps. The daily breakfast was so delicious and the juices were out of this world. The best part of this accomodation might just be the plunge pool that overlooks the breathtaking view. The yoga studio is also so stunning! Highly recommend this place for couples or individuals who want a break from the craziness of Bali to enjoy nature. It will be great if they could upgrade the pool to a bigger size one day! (One thing I would recommend is bringing some earplugs as there are some local roosters that will wake you up!)

I highly recommend staying here for at least three nights to experience this beautiful place. It is so peaceful and private and a lovely neighbourhood to walk around in. Comfortable bed, clean space and the plunge tub is very relaxing. All the staff (including the hosts) are so lovely and helpful. As a final note, please don’t pass up breakfast here! The food is absolutely amazing— fresh, organic and made from and for the soul. ☺️

The most peaceful, beautiful place. I only wish I could have stayed longer. The grounds are filled with flower and lush green plants. The view of the rainforest and mountains are breathtaking. I enjoyed yoga every morning in the chalet. Be sure to do a Tibetan singing bowl mediation session with Maitreya, an experience like no other. The breakfast by Dewi was the best food I had on my entire trip. Both Maitreya and Dewi are very responsive and helpful. Thanks to both of you and your staff for a memorable and peaceful stay.

Our stay at Dewi's Ki Ma Ya Retreat in Ubud was pure bliss. The food, especially the nasi goreng and smoothie bowls, was outstanding. Surrounded by nature, the environment was incredibly relaxing with bird and insect sounds. Morning yoga with a jungle view was rejuvenating. The house was clean and comfy, and the outdoor bathtub and shower were a delight. We spent peaceful afternoons at the pavilion. In summary, Dewi's Ki Ma Ya Retreat is a natural paradise, offering delicious food, a tranquil environment, and a rejuvenating experience. We can't wait to return!

An absolute gem of a stay. Our final stop on our honeymoon. Dewi and Maitreya have created something extremely special. Exquisite breakfast, yoga and meditation. A lush landscape full of love and care. If you have the opportunity to stay here, do it.

This was supposedly our last visit to Bali, a place we have been coming to since mid-80’s. We didn’t factor in finding Kimaya retreat. It’s just possible that we will be back one last time, and for the sole purpose of spending some more time in the slice of heaven then Maitreya and Dewi have carved out of their hillside. If you are fortunate enough to be able to get the opportunity to stay, grab it with both hands and be prepared for something very special.

The photos don’t do justice, it is located on a hillside overlooking forest. Very much in with nature. Only sound you hear is frogs and roosters in morning. It is in north end of Ubud, away from all the noise and crowd. Make sure to get SIM for local data for comms.

This was our last stop in Bali, and Dewi and her husband made our stay incredible. They hosted yoga classes and sound-bowl meditations on the property that were wonderful with the serene backdrop. The property was very private and peaceful as it sits just far enough away from downtown Ubud to avoid the crowds (you will either need to rent a scooter or hire cars to get around as there is nothing within walking distance). The bedroom’s A/C unit was perfect at night to just keep the room a little chilled. The breakfasts were the best we had anywhere in Bali. At every opportunity they helped us out and made this an unforgettable stay.

Great food, awesome place to stay, good scenery must visit

This place was amazing and the breakfast was our favorite meal either of us had on our trip to Indonesia. It was a super private little oasis and the yoga shala was the most perfect I've been to. The one thing is that the place is essentially glamping so when it rained for 36 hours straight, nothing would dry due to the humidity (the bedroom is indoors but the little AC unit in there did nothing to dry out the air). The location is also quite far from downtown Ubud (not walkable at all) but Dewi helped us rent a scooter.

Thee most incredible place that we have had the pleasure of staying. Our host are gracious, special people and we thoroughly enjoyed ever second we were there. The property is out of a Bali dream. Serene. Views of the jungle and volcanos in the back ground are spectacular. A wonderful place to sit, practice yoga, meditation or just enjoy a glass of wine. Ubud is an easy 10 minute taxi/grab away or you can walk the path through the rice fields and art galleries! You can also just order food and provisions to the property. Breakfast was included and some of the best food we had in Bali. However, there is a kitchen with anything you might need to cook in. Beds were pleasant and the indoor/outdoor bathrooms couldn’t be better. I cannot recommend this villa enough and will absolutely be back next time we visit.

The best Airbnb experience I have had! The place kept in tranquility, with the symphony of nature beautifully played. The house is exactly like one of a Chinese poem (translated as “the humble hut” )was described: A mount needs not be high; it becomes noted when on it fairies dwell. A body of water needs not be deep; it would be ensouled, if a dragon makes it its resting whereabouts. This hut of mine is a humble one, but I make it virtuously fragrant in repute. The green moss creeping on the stepping stones and the verdure in the courtyard peeing through the screen do tell the presence of spring. Besides, breakfast is wonderful too. Thank you.

The zen garden was really beautiful- amazing view looking into the volcano valley, a Buddha statue lily pond right outside of the cabin, really peaceful place to be. Very clean everywhere, yummy breakfast. There’s a yoga hall with amazing view we didn’t use; if yoga and vegan food is your thing; this is a great place! We’d love to come back in the future!

This is the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at Dewi and Maitreya are such lovely people and made my ten days here very special. I wish I could have stayed longer. The view... what can I say? Ever changing, overlooking a pristine jungle valley, with some rice fields up top and direct views of Mt Batukaru. My stress levels plummeted just being there. And this is a private view not shared by any other guests. There is a sharing of the well water tub in a separate area, but it was nice to have a friendly chat with the one guest that showed up when I was there. Very like minded people. And Maitreya took me through two beautiful meditation and sound bath sessions with a small number of other guests. It was exactly what I needed. If you love yoga, meditation, beautiful vegan food, plus lovely kind people, and you want to experience what Bali truly has to offer, this is the place for you.

Dewi and Maitreya are outstanding hosts. Easy going and professional. The place is just a hidden gem. Incredible view over the mountains right in the middle of the jungle. Staying at Ki Ma Ya Sanctuary was an amazing experience. It's hard to believe such a tranquil place could be found only a 15 minutes ride from of the hustle and bustle of Ubud's centre. The house was immaculate and the view was breathtaking - we spent hours sitting on the balcony and gazebo listening to the relaxing sounds of nature and the water well. Dewi and Maitreya were very welcoming and were quick to respond to our messages. They also do one of the best breakfasts you will find with a wide variety of options. Thanks for the great stay! We hope to be back in the future.

Prachtige locatie! Heel erg mooi goed onderhouden huis waar veel zorg en aandacht aan is besteed. Zodra je binnenkomt waan je, je in een oase van rust en dat op maar een kwartiertje rijden van het drukke ubud. De host waren heel aardig en behulpzaam en we hebben een leuke meditatie les kunnen volgen. En het ontbijt is heerlijk. Echt een aanrader als je wel Ubud wil zien maar niet in de drukke omgeving wilt zitten.

To say this place is heaven on Earth is pretty close to describing it. Kimaya Retreat is much more than that. The surroundings are stunning, and I spent hours watching the view from my villa's terrace. The privacy this house offers is one of a kind. I felt I could easily spend weeks in this house without leaving. Dewi and Maitreya are the best hosts ever. Helpful, responsive, and friendly. The breakfasts are so delicious! Especially the cold pressed coffee with nut milk. I'm now craving more. I will definitely remember my time at Kimaya forever. It was exceptional and extraordinary, and I'm happy to be coming back again in December.

I would definitely stay here again! The zen garden was incredibly peaceful and wonderful to wake up to. Dewi and Maitreya were wonderful hosts that were very responsive. It does not take too long to get to downtown Ubud from the Kimaya Retreat, but its far enough away for some true calm and quiet. It was rejuvenating to wake up and soak in the outdoor cold water tub while overlooking the jungle and mountains.

We loved our stay at Kimaya! It’s a beautiful cottage and the grounds are stunning. We felt instantly relaxed as soon as we arrived. The location is good too - outside of the busy Ubud centre, but easy enough to access via taxi or motorbike. We also did a Tibetan bowl meditation class on site which was extremely relaxing. All in all I would highly recommend this place!

This is a magical place to stay in Ubud. We loved the location (under 10 minute scooter to the centre of town), the villa (amazing views and a huge covered porch for those rainy afternoons) and the delicious breakfasts! Dewi and her team were so helpful, going out of their way to make special arrangements for us when we had an early start one day. We highly recommend staying here!

This villa was in a perfect location. Just outside of the center of Ubud so you didn’t have to here all the craziness through the night. The place was absolutely beautiful! Gave you a very in the jungle feel but absolutely breathtaking. It was very private as well. Dewi helped us rent a motor bike before we arrived so it was all ready to go when we got there. The breakfast was super delicious! You must try the smoothie bowl, it was absolutely divine! We got to see some little lizards and frogs outside but never did see any inside. There is drinking water in the villa as well so that is nice. The views were beautiful. Everyone was so welcoming. I would definitely recommend this villa :)

I stayed at Ki Ma Ya Retreats for 4 days with my girlfriend and it was simply breathtaking. Words cannot explain the marvel of the place. Passing through the caos of Ubud and entering the property and experiencing the calmness and incredible view leaves you speechless. The open-air bathroom, the garden design, the house exteriors and interiors and the pool view are so beautiful. Dewi was a great host, preparing us a great breakfast too to be enjoyed at the beginning of the day in silence and peace, and helping us with everything we needed. We will sure return if ever back in Bali!

We stayed in this retreat for our honeymoon and it was great. Breakfast was amazing 😻! Also the baths were nice. Advise is to rent a scooter to get to Ubud, there is one available a few houses down the road.

This astounishing cabin is located close to Ubud with scooter (which Dewi helped us out with renting), but yet far enough away from trafffic and public life for the surrounding sounds only to be animal life. Truly a paradise where you can relax and enjoy nature to the fullest. The yoga Shala and view is honestly one of the best I’ve ever seen in the world. The architecture and little touches show that the hosts really care. The food and hospitality as well, is not only nourishing but so filling for the body and soul.

It was an absolute pleasure staying at Dewi's place. It's like a Zen retreat center, with a yoga hall overlooking the jungle. I'm so glad I treated myself to the experience.

This place is just superb. Kimaya is so serene and tranquil, we feel very peaceful to stay at the venue. Every nook and crannies is well taken care of, it seems like we can just hang around forever. Dewi and family took really great care of us. We had one lunch in Kimaya and it was very lovely, the baba ganoush was just superb. We also had a bonus of vegan ice cream ❤️ I wud definitely want to revisit again, and again.

We had such a. Wonderful stay and can’t wait to come back. The Joglo is spacious enough and really cozy. Air con works perfectly and outdoor shower with bath and valley view was a real treat. We had breakfast each morning in the nearby bale looking over the mountain and had a hot bath and cold plunge pool session. Host have done an amazing job and are always around to make sure you get what you need. Highly recommend staying!

A gorgeous little gem up behind the hustle and bustle of Ubud with stunning views of the jungle and no other properties in sight. The Javanese wooden house is a work of art and it was a real pleasure lolling in the cold tub and having the outdoor bath big enough for two.., listening to the frogs singing and the cicadas playing their orchestra. The real bonus was the delightful Deva... he’s the sweetest, kindest chap who went above and beyond to make our stay special. Thank you so much! We will be back!

This is by far the best, beautiful and most peaceful stay we’ve ever been. The view from villa is absolutely stunning and it’s perfect for digital detox. The place is well maintained. Staff is too good and helpful. We happened to arrive at this place on Bali’s religious ceremony day(Galungan) and staff helped us celebrate with the locals in the village. We felt so connected to Balinese culture. We were so happy with the experience and offered money at the end of it and they politely refused, which says a lot about the Balinese people.. I would totally recommend this place

Where to begin to describe the beauty of Dewi’s home. The hospitality was second to none, of all the locations in Bali we stayed this was by FAR the most beautiful villa and view with incredible amenities, DELICIOUS breakfast, and unmatched hospitality. Dewa was a wonderful host, he always checked in to make sure we were comfortable and happy, going above and beyond to accommodate anything we needed. Little things like drawing down the porch blinds if it rained and turning the lights on for us in the evening before we returned home made it so special. There is 24 hour security and a gate, but it is so secluded and safe you won’t think of it. It is a bit of a hike to downtown you have to use a taxi or scooter, but there’s a cute little restaurant within walking distance called Tini’s Kitchen that is delightful. Dewa made sure we found our way there safely and even picked my mom up in a scooter to take her the rest of the way there. I can go on forever but do NOT miss out on this place if it’s available during your visit. We didn’t want to leave.

I could not believe my eyes when saw the property on Airbnb and when I actually went there, it is even prettier. Such a beautiful and peaceful property. It is humid here, that was the worst part of my whole stay experience at this property because I felt AC is small as per room. But it rained same and next day, and the worst part was gone. Highly recommend. Peaceful, Exclusive, Right in the jungle, & last but not the least, View while taking a dip in Barrel Bath.

This place is so great. My boyfriend booked this place for my birthday for a few days! I was so sad to leave that as an extra gift we booked another day. I hardly wanted to leave and explore, it was so amazing to just stay and watch the nature! Beautiful view (and sunset), amazing cold water tub, the shower and bath were beautiful, and just every little detail was amazing! The staff was all so friendly and helpful. Dewa was very helpful with recommending us places to go nearby and even gave us a snack to take with us as we departed. We’re so happy we got to experience this extraordinary place and hope to be back.

We had such a lovely time at Kimaya. It is truly a magical place with amazing jungle views and so much privacy you can walk around in your own skin. We felt right at home and had such an amazing time. Dewa the house manager was especially kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served at your preferred time. Dewa was very accommodating and took my special requests for vegan smoothies and even served me a large plate of tempe, local vegetables and spicy sambal on my last morning. Everything was simply perfect. There are frogs and bugs around, but it is really a tranquil place where nature cycles in its own rhythm and the little creatures really are a part of what makes Kimaya a retreat that’s one with nature. We loved dipping into the cool water barrel after a long day in the sun and watching the sunset from the meditation veranda. Truly truly special, Rob and I will come back again to this little home away from home. See you soon Kimaya!

We stayed here for two nights in the middle of our trip for our anniversary. We changed our day time plans so we could relax and enjoy the surroundings of the jungle. The manager even arranged for someone to come and give us massages. Perfect place to unwind and take in the beautiful sounds of the jungle.

This place is a piece of heaven on earth! One of thee most beautiful spaces I have ever been in. So much thought went into creating this home. The furniture, lay out, landscaping, everything was beautiful and has that wow factor! The host was extremely kind and helpful. The morning breakfasts were so yummy! The area is extremely quite and super chill. Overlooking the river and rice paddies from the distance, you feel like you’re in a dream. The outdoor barrel tub was amazing! So refreshing with the most beautiful views! I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Ubud to stay here! I would give it 10 stars if I could!!!! Amazing!!!!

Cannot recommend enough. House is as beautiful as the pictures indicate, and even more relaxing! Hospitality from the staff was exceptional. Delicious fruit and beautiful space await your arrival. Dewa, Jro, Ngekan and the others went out of their way to make me comfortable; organized transportation and my next stay, provided local tips, quick rides and even accompanied me to an open field in the morning so that I might improve my motorbike skills. They set the bar on Day 0 when Dewi had a taxi waiting for me at the airport within hours of booking, and Dewa was already checking the local stores to replace my damaged laptop charger. Amazing. Can't wait to be back.

This place is absolutely stunning, the views are breathtaking and the plunge pool is every bit as spectacular as it looks! The breakfasts are also a total luxury. We arranged airport transfer with the host which was super easy and then used the same driver to go down to Ubud centre. This took about 30 mins and we found we were going down every evening to eat. You can also hire scooters from the host and we did so to visit the rice fields and other sights north of the villa. The only downside for us were the cockerels that woke us up very early, but this is all part of being out of the city really. Overall a spectacular villa which exceeded our expectations. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

Dewi and Dewa were phenomenal hosts, very considerate, helpful and went above and beyond to make our experience perfect. They delivered breakfast every morning, the views are superb and were always there when you needed anything. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of Bali! Honestly, I know others have said it but photos really don't do this villa justice. It's stunning. Just outside of town its a short drive or very easy bike ride and you're in the centre of it all. We booked this villa as part of our honeymoon trip and couldn't be happier. They've really thought of everything you need. Also, breakfast was outstanding. Very well presented and prepared. Wish we had booked to stay longer as we didn't want to leave. My only note is make sure you use the location on Google maps provided to find the villa as its set a little back off the road. Easy to find once you know where just trust Google. Such a unique hidden gem!

Pictures do not serve this place justice! We had an amazing stay at Dewi's place, wished that we booked longer! Location is just about 10 mins from Ubud Central, everything in the place is amazing from the zen pond, to the shower, to the pavilion and tub that is facing the hills! Hot water and AC were excellent! There is surprisingly no bugs in the house, a frog did came to visit us in the morning though but it was cool! Expect to hear chickens and crickets but that's all cool as well! Staff's hospitality were superb!

We stayed at Ki Ma Ya Retreat for a few days as part of our honeymoon in Bali -- we couldn't have asked for more! The photos do NOT do justice of the real experience; it truly felt like a peaceful retreat with the jungle behind us. Dewa, the house manager was so responsive, and the staff was so friendly and kind whenever we saw them - they even helped arrange a scooter that we rented. The pergola, spring water jacuzzi, open terrace, and wooden texture of the house itself all worked together in harmony. Breakfast was simple and fresh that we enjoyed in peace. This is the perfect getaway from the bustle of Ubud downtown :)

Stylish place with a beautiful view. Located in a quiet area and very close to nature. Zen music prepared by the host makes you relax and easily finding inner peace. Just few minutes of scooter drive to Ubud center. Villa staff very friendly and helpful.

An interesting experience

If you are looking for a very relaxing, amazing, wonderful and fantastic place to stay not in the middle of Ubud traffic and noise.. this is your place. With lots of traditional Balinese touches and Dewa's unmatched hospitality, we were just thrilled with our stay. He gave us so many tips for where to go, we rented scooters through him (rode into town pretty much every day with ease), and overall, he was very communicative and so sweet. Our room was stunning and we loved the indoor/outdoor-ness of it all. Very relaxing to have an outdoor tub and a magnificent view to see all day long. My only complaint is that we didn't get to stay here longer.. if you are staying here.. make the time to just enjoy where you are. A full day here is worth it! Also, the morning chorus of chickens is quite a show! Lol

This place is literally magical! We had the most incredible time here and were hosted with such curiosity, attention to detail, and genuine concern. Every inch of this place is packed full of thoughtful details and the view is spectacular. We could not recommend this location enough!!!

Dewi's place had the most incredible setting of any place we stayed in Bali. The view from the house overlooking the valley is simply phenomenal. We could not get tired of it and preferred staying home to going visit places in Bali. It is so private and unique. You see nothing but a spectacular jungle and the corner of a rice field. You can hear how active nature is all day and night. When the view is clear you can see the volcanoes in the distance. The house is so quaint and so well restored. Too many little details to mention such as encountered with so many cute frogs, feeding the catfish in the pond, enjoying the fresh cold tub after a day exploring Bali, the view from the bed with doors open in the morning, the delicious breakfast and incredibly kind staff. This must be one of the most unique places to stay in Bali. We heard that someone rented the place for one year. We could totally see ourselves spending a year there. Most relaxing place ever.

This place is paradise on earth. It’s a beautiful and incredible house and location. I loved everything and I was able to fully retreat and do my healing. Also the staff is amazingly friendly. Truly a place you should stay.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this air bnb. This was our last spot but also our favorite. The view of the jungle was magical. The interior was so pretty with Indonesian hand made furniture. The bath tub was outside and so nice to relax in with a glass of wine! The cold tub on the balcony was also really nice to sit in on hot days. This place felt very Bali out of every place we stayed at. It was tranquil and quiet. We had so much privacy. The host was super responsive and helpful. We would Definitely stay here again!!

La casa è talmente bella da sembrare un sogno. Un vero angolo di paradiso con tutto il necessario (e anche di più) per rilassarsi lontani dal caos di Ubud. Sono stata una sola notte per il mio compleanno, ma avrei voluto viverci per sempre. Semplicemente stupenda.

Villa is very beautiful, view is amazing. Me and my husband fell in love with this place. Dewi is a very nice person, she were always in touch. Staff was very nice and kind. Many thanks to Dewa, he helped us with each our request, all places he advised to go to have a dinner was great. Next time I definitely want to book this villa.

Wow! This place is a dream. So much attention to detail. Hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive. Everything from the lush garden to the wooden space, the bale and the cool tub, not to mention the breathtaking view. The bed was super cozy and taking a bath in the outdoors was a treat. A tranquil oasis amidst the trees and sounds of nature. Can not wait to return to this gem in Ubud! Great for couples & close friends. I Highly recommend.

This place is magical. Completely private and with a view of the hills and the rice fields - it’s pretty much everything one could ask for in Ubud. Dewi was very responsive on chat and even before check in and the staff made our stay enjoyable. Would love to come back many times over! Highly recommend!
