Exploring Munduk Chili house in the valley near waterfall left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.

The virtual preview of Munduk Chili house in the valley near waterfall was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Banjar plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.

I found the tour for Munduk Chili house in the valley near waterfall painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.

Staff was super nice so this review it’s harder to write but honestly the price does not correspond to the accommodation. We paid 115€ for one night in “treehouse” (means is hut between trees) and quality was worst than Jungle huts we have earlier for 17€ / night that’s a pretty big difference. ❌ Holes almost in evey wall makes it very cold in rainy days ❌ Half of our pillows was stinky / musty from water that penetrate the roof ❌ We woke up with bed and room full of ants. ❌Wi-Fi was not working at all ✅ After all we recieved cash back 31€ ✅ Also free lunch in restaurant

Overall we had a pleasant stay. The location is perfect for exploring the waterfalls and local area. Would definitely recommend eating at the local restaurant - Botanist. Our cabin was quite cold and damp, but you can expect that being in the middle of the jungle! However single duvets and Toy Story bedding aren’t quite ideal for your honeymoon…

Place look much better on pictures... But very cold in rainy season. Not perfect view from balcony. Munduk have much better views and cheaper. Breakfast was big and testy . And personal help me with laundry for all my wet stuff.

Be prepared to be in the jungle environment. Fantastic views from the room & restaurant. Best thing about this place is the people. Everyone was super friendly, learnt our names, very helpful in many ways. Thank you so much!

Erg leuke accommodatie, in het bos met een geweldig uitzicht. Kamer erg netjes, wel alleen met trappen bereikbaar. Restaurant prima en lieve mensen die je een fijn verblijf willen bieden.

Ce logement propose une vue à couper le souffle sur la jungle et la cascade, le restaurant est délicieux, la masseuse est divine ! Merci

The staff was extremely nice! Thank you for all the help and recommendations! The location of the house makes it possible to see many great animals and plants. Having your own scooter is a must, there is not much to reach on foot in the area. The bathroom is open and was therefore a bit uncomfortable to use since it was quite cold at the time we were there ( January) and because we had many animal visitors. All in all we had a nice stay, but we feel the price is a bit to high for what it is.

If you are into the out doors/glamping style, this is for you as this villa was deep in the jungle of Bali. Lots of mosquitos but not many bugs. The view from the room was good, although this listing did specify it had a view of the waterfalls sadly our room did not, but other rooms might. The complimentary breakfast was amazing, accompanied by a beautiful view. The staff was so nice and so helpful by taking our luggage to and from our room. Would definitely recommend if you’re into all the outdoorsy or if you’re looking to waterfall chase.

Nice place for a jungle vibe. The place didnt reach my expectations compare the pictures. There is a bit a cold vibe like the temperature at night, i was freezing. The team have a low english but they are trying to do their best and are kind.

Excellent logement, très propre. Munduk et particulièrement ce logement, est un endroit très reposant et paisible. Nous avons été accueilli par le personnel qui est très gentil, à l’écoute, soucieux de notre bien être et agréable. Ils nous ont aidés à porter nos valises jusqu’à nos chambres. L’après midi nous nous sommes fait masser dans leur spa qui propose différents types de massages, nous avons choisit le massage balinais qui était pour moi (en tant que masseuse) le meilleur massage qu’on m’ait fait. Le soir nous avons mangé dans leur restaurant, et on m’a proposé une bouillotte pour me réchauffer. Je n’ai rien à dire de négatif, tout était parfait. Je vous remercie pour votre accueil chaleureux, qui a fait de notre nuit une parenthèse de calme

Absolutely amazing stay! The host and staff were incredible — so kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The reception staff especially stood out: always smiling, friendly, and happy to help, which made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The place itself is stunning — beautiful surroundings, beautiful people, and such a peaceful atmosphere. The waterfalls are an absolute must-see and truly unforgettable. I couldn’t recommend this place more. We would 100% stay again!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Gumi Ayu Ecostay! The location is great - directly next to waterfalls so you can visit these before any crowds arrive. The restaurant has delicious food and a beautiful view overlooking the Munduk rainforest. Our home was directly immersed in beautiful nature and we felt super welcome and provided for by our hosts, thank you! ☺️

Perfect

This was the last place we stayed in Bali and it was by far our favorite place. Not only is the accommodation phenomenal and beautiful, with a great view of the waterfall from the rooms, but it has a tree-house feel and is so unique. We saw a lot of wildlife, but were never pestered by anything (bugs, geckos, etc weren't a bother). But importantly, the staff were the kindest, most helpful and most accommodating staff that we had experienced in Bali. We enjoyed every meal that we had in the restaurant, and the staff are lovely to visit with. There are several recommended activities, where transportation was arranged. We have already recommended our friends and family to stay here, if they visit Bali. Thank you, Gumi Ayu! ♡

Loved our stay! Made is a wonderful host, super attentive and thoughtful. The room was really cool, loved the bath tub! Private views of the forest, so cool. The sound of the waterfall, birds & bugs was so nice. 10/10 would recommend.

This was such a serene escape. super beautiful and surrounded by nature. the staff were so friendly, accommodating, and helpful at all times of day. the restaurant that is part of the retreat has amazing views and good food. breakfast was always delicious if I had to give any heads up, it would be that because you're staying in the mountains, everything is uphill/downhill via stairs including your room. if you're someone that cannot do a lot of steep stairs, this isn't the place for you. other than that, my husband and I were absolutely happy and so far during our Bali trip, it was our favorite stay

Everything went great. The staff are polite and always ready to assist at any time. I tried the head massage and loved it. It helped me relax and release neck tension, which was incredible. If you're not used to the many sounds of the forest, consider bringing earplugs. The waterfalls are nearby, and you can easily visit them on your own.

The place was as described and overall met expectations. The location was convenient, and the check-in process was smooth. The host communicated well and was responsive to messages. The space was clean. It was a comfortable stay for the price, and I’d consider booking again if I’m in the area.

We had the most fantastic stay at Gami Ayu. The staff were SO welcoming, we felt right at home and they accommodated our every need. The room was stunning and we loved how peaceful it was. The food was brilliant at the restaurant. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Munduk area - we hope to return one day and wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again!

The place is a cute and very cozy. Perfect for the colder weather in Munduk. It has a bathup which is perfect to soak in the hot bath with the cold weather. It’s a perfect place for a short weekend getaway. The staff are all very friendly , helpful and responsive. The place is right next to a beautiful waterfall. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in Munduk.

This place was breathtaking. The lobby/cafe had incredible views and the villa was in the middle of the jungle with the sound of nature and the waterfall nearby. It was clean and spacious. The staff was extremely sweet and attentive to us and any requests we had. There are quite some steps to go to and from the room so be mindful of that if it’s an issue and just know it is open so there may be a few insects but nothing too crazy. Especially since they keep the rooms so clean. They do have a fan and it is cooler since it’s in the mountains so that helped a lot. Overall, this is a must try experience!

We really enjoyed our two day stay at Made's place. The team was super helpful, and even gave me medication for my stomach problems (which I got at another place;)). Once, we wanted to go to a restaurant close by for dinner and they provided us with a flashlight. The waterfall next to the accomodation is included and also highly recommended. We would come again anytime and thank again for the superb service!

Die Unterkunft war ein träumchen & das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft war nicht weit entfernt von den wasserfällen und man konnte diese sogar beim schlafen hören!

Nous avons séjourné 1 nuit dans ce logement. Le lieu est incroyable, identique aux photos. Le personnel est aux petits soins et toujours disponible. Je recommande vivement si vous aller à munduk ne rater pas cette expérience.

Una cabaña preciosa con todas las facilidades, dentro de la jungla, en la que se podía escuchar el murmuro del agua de la cascada cercana. El personal ha sido encantador y muy amable, siempre dispuestos a ayudar en todo con una sonrisa. Gracias por todo!

5th time staying at Gumi Ayu in our favorite Cabin - The Chili Room. We love it and will keep coming back!

This was the perfect quiet getaway that we needed! The sounds of the waterfall and wildlife was so tranquil throughout our whole stay. We appreciated the mosquito net that was put around the bed so we didn't have to sleep with bug repellent on! Made was so kind, as was the rest of his team! Everyone made you feel welcome and at home. One night, it was a little cold when we came back from dinner and they even gave me a hot water bottle to hold on our walk down to the cabin. It's the little things, like that, that go a long way. The breakfast every morning was so yummy too! If you're looking for a more outdoorsy stay while in Bali, do yourself a favor and check this place out!

I would recommend this stay to anyone traveling north Bali. Hospitable staff, tasty food, and gorgeous location. They even decorated our room for Valentine’s Day which made it extra special. I hope to return

Die Unterkunft in den Bäumen war ein absoluter Traum! Wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Die Gastgeber und das gesamte Personal sind sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend. Der Service war herausragend! Das Essen war ebenfalls sehr lecker und der Ausblick in den Regenwald einzigartig. Von der Unterkunft aus kann man Munduk und Umgebung super erkunden und auch an Regentagen haben wir uns über den Regen gefreut, denn so konnten wir einfach in der Unterkunft entspannen und die Natur von dort aus genießen. Danke an das gesamte Team für die tolle Zeit!

Would definitely stay again the place was nice good food there are a lot of stairs to the villa which I didn’t realise until we got there not a problem but if your pregnant like I was you will be very tired once you get to the top Ahha. They are very welcoming and have good English, we seen squirrels on the villa balcony. A bit hidden away but not to far from Lovina or the shops. Highly recommend this place. When we checked out they even brought our bags up for us so we didn’t have to carry them up the stairs

Chili house is beautiful, so peaceful and spotlessly clean. Made and his team go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay, from the best recommendations for day trips to showing you round themselves. We did a day trip to 7 waterfalls as well as a sunrise trek and canoe on lake T which were both amazing. All staff are lovely, we were served by Eva the most who is so kind and helpful. Also- If you ask you can have a mosquito net that they will put up for you! Thank you for such a lovely stay!

Stayed at Made’s place for 3 days and 2 nights and I felt right at home. I had some activities in mind that I wanted to do but I cancelled them all to immerse myself in the nature. Everyone was so friendly during my stay and did everything to make me feel comfortable. The breakfast was also delicious. There might be a few insects in the room but that’s to expect when you are in the middle of the forest, everything was clean though. And, there are quite some stairs to get to your room and to get breakfast in the restaurant so if you have difficulties walking for some reason this might not be the place for you. They also have 2 dogs there but they are friendly. I would love to come back.

The Chili House at the Gumi Ayu Ecohotel is the most amazing place. There’s a clear view of a pristine waterfall and there are unobstructed jungle views from a lovely patio space. The stone tub and shower were amazing. Made and staff were some of the friendliest people we’ve ever met, going out of their way to help us get laundry done, to find transportation, and rent a scooter. The food and drinks in the restaurant up the stairs were superb, and you can sit at a bar that looks out to the jungle mountains and waterfall. We were lucky to have beautiful thunderstorms both nights that truly elevated the ambience of the space. There’s so much to do in the area as well, especially with a scooter. The Munduk area has some very spectacular waterfalls worth checking out. Overall, I don’t think there’s a better resort in all of Bali in terms of getting out into the beautiful mountain jungles while still having access to delicious Indonesian cuisine just up the stairs. We’ll definitely come back

Lovely stay in the Chilli treehouse at Made’s place. We were made to feel so welcome by the amazing staff. They went the extra mile to make our stay extra special. We arranged a tour through the staff at the property and also did a cooking class with them. It was a great experience. In the heart of the jungle, with amazing views and lovely people. Le personnel étais vraiment très sympathique et souriant ! Ils ont préparé un petit gâteau ainsi que "happy birthday Emmanuelle" écris avec des fleurs au sol le jour de son anniversaire à ma demande elle en étais très contente. La cabane était top on dort vraiment en immersion dans la forêt, on entends tout les bruits de nuit comme de jour c'est une super expérience ! la vue étais super aussi !

Mega schöner Aufenthalt in der Natur! Die Lage ist toll, man sollte sich darauf gefasst machen auf einige Tiere zu treffen :) Das Personal gibt sich sehr viel Mühe, sehr freundlich. Auf jeden Fall sehr zu empfehlen!

Just as the ad says, the place offers a solitude vibe that is very close to the nature. The highlight for me is the restaurant. All the foods were really flavourful! But the dessert (choco lava and pandan crepes) were the true winner for me. Will definitely come back for these.

This is one of a kind property.. Close to the nature.. they have an amazing group of staff... The restaurant is the highlight... Solitude lovers this is your go to place... This place has much more experiences to offer than you can see or make out through the picture... it has its own off beat feel... This place is a pinned location for my next visit to bali

Très bon accueil, les hôtes ont été au petits soins pour nous. Le logement est en pleine nature, au milieu de la jungle et l’emplacement du restaurant avec les baies vitrées rendent le décor magique. Nous avons trouvé le restaurant un peu trop cher par rapport à ce qui est proposé. Merci pour ce séjour 🤗

Je vous le recommande vivement si vous appréciez être dans une cabane (très bien aménagée) avec vue sur la jungle, proche d’une jolie cascade. La cuisine est délicieuse, les massages sont excellents. Le personnel est au petit soin, très aimable et nous conseille sur des activités à faire. Ils ont organisé une location de scooter pour nous, ainsi que le transfert à notre hôtel suivant.

A minha estadia com o meu namorado, foi FANTÁSTICA!!! Tudo impecável desde o primeiro dia em que chegamos, o hotel é maravilhoso, a comida é espetacular principalmente para quem tem problemas de estômago com a comida como eu que melhorei bastante ao longo dos dias da estadia. Tudo muito bem apresentado, saboroso e não muito caro. O Host (Made) foi uma pessoa indescritível connosco, ajudou nos em tudo o que podia, estávamos um pouco perdidos e ele indicou nos praticamente tudo de melhor que a região poderia oferecer, alertando sempre de todos os inconvenientes e os convenientes para a estadia ser o mais agradável possível. Para além de ser um incrível host, mostrou ser um grande homem é um grande ser humano!! Ambiente familiar bastante agradável e confortável o que deixa qualquer hóspede super a vontade e feliz! Não há palavras para descrever o quão Feliz foi a nossa estadia! Aconselho a toda a gente e principalmente a ouvirem os conselhos de quem sabe como o Made.

L’éco hôtel est magnifique, les chambres sont ultra lumineuses et donnent sur la jungle, le bruit de la cascade en fond pour vous bercer. Les propriétaires et tout le personnel est d’une gentillesse hors norme, ils ont tout fait pour rendre notre séjour le plus agréable possible. Je vous conseille vivement cet endroit si vous souhaitez vous ressourcer. Point non négligeable la nourriture du restaurant est excellente. Ravies de cette expérience 🙏

A beautiful place nestled amidst nature. Made was a wonderful host.. The property itself is so beautiful that you need to spend some time to enjoy real beauty.. Special mention to the chefs who prepared the best balinese cuisines. Please ensure to have the Gumi Ayu chicken curry- its the best dish I have had in Bali.. very aesthetically done as well..❤️

Casa immersa nella natura, Pulito, Chiuse entrambe le due porte a chiave. In base alle casa che vi tocca preparatevi a fare scalini !!! Noi non abbiamo potuto scegliere. Personale squisito, Buona la cucina. Confermato!

Prachtige accomodatie in hartje Bali. De mensen zijn super beleefd en behulpzaam en de omgeving is prachtig. Meerdere watervallen en andere activiteiten op 10 tot 30 minuten rijden. Zeker een aanrader, alles was perfect!

Het verblijf ligt op een geweldige locatie waar we heerlijk hebben genoten. Het huisje heeft alles wat je nodig hebt en is zeer comfortabel. Het ontbijt en diner was echt uitzonderlijk lekker en heel veel.

Made and his staff were wonderful and so was the treehouse we stayed in. There was a wonderful restaurant on the property that was beautiful with fantastic food and drinks. My friend and I enjoyed massages and facials from their amazing masseuse. The manager was very helpful in planning fun day treks to the waterfalls and joined us for canyoning to make sure we felt safe. All in all we had a wonderful time and experience at this hotel. I was quiet relieved to find ourselves in great hands. I highly recommend this place! :)

I had a great experience at Gumi Ayu! All the staff are so friendly and accommodating! The location is beautiful with a picturesque view of the jungle and the room was so cozy and comfortable. They also had delicious food and drinks at the restaurant. There is so much to see and do around the area. The accomodation was stunning, with sweeping views of the rainforest from our bedroom and a hammock hanging over the jungle. Made and his team were incredibly helpful and made our stay amazing - I also highly recommend the small spa there for a massage!

It was so very awesome to stay here and be hosted by Neeta and Made. They and team were super polite, extremely helpful during our entire stay. The place is so very lovely and serene. It is our choice of hotel for our next trips for Bali for sure.

The place is great! The staff are very nice and helpful. We went out for our dolphin tour around 5am and the staff has helped us even at that hour. We are happy to stay here and wish to be back.

The place is beautiful- just as pictured, the view is amazing too! We really felt immersed in the jungle :) we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very attentive and willing to go out of their ways to help - definitely one of the highlights of our stay! The only thing to beware of is that the bed does not have a mosquito net, so come prepared!

This cabin was the perfect little mountain getaway. It had beautiful views and was very quiet. I was welcome with a hot mug of lemongrass tea and the free breakfast was delicious. The bathtub was probably my favorite part, it felt so nice to soak in a hot tub with the windows cracked. Made was quick to respond with anything I need. Overall I really enjoyed my stay!

We had a lovely 2 nights stay here, very hospitable people and the place is petfriendly. Lots of waterfalls are in close reach and pak Made is always there to help with any arrangements or tips. A very good restaurant is close by (the botanist) go and try that out as well. We'd come back. Thank you!

5 stars all around! Absolutely lovely hosts, gave us great suggestions and served us a very fresh breakfast the next morning. We got a little lost and they were very accommodating with helping us find our way. The place itself is lovely, has a beautiful view and it gets nice and cosy in there in the evenings as it gets a bit cooler. Amazing!
