Exploring River Moon Villa | Tranquil private pool hideaway left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.

The virtual preview of River Moon Villa | Tranquil private pool hideaway was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Ubud plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.

I found the tour for River Moon Villa | Tranquil private pool hideaway painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.

Начну этот отзыв с того, что на Бали мы с женой были очень много раз. Жили в разных районах, на разных виллах. Ценовая категория вил, где мы обычно жили - 100-200 евро в сутки, в зависимости от района проживания. Это информация для того, чтобы было понимание, что нам есть с чем сравнивать. Теперь по поводу конкретной виллы: 1) первое, что мы поняли,когда заселились на виллу - на ней нет ничего, кроме полотенец, туалетной бумаги и куска мыла около раковины. Шампунь, гель для душа и прочее- идите в магазин. 2) вилла уже порядком изношена - Как оказалось, ей уже 9 лет. Полноценного ремонта, видимо , 9 лет никто не делал. 3) персонал виллы. Советую сразу договориться о том, что Вы будете накануне писать персоналу во сколько приходить. Учтите, что если вы захотите, чтобы вам готовили завтрак, то сразу после приготовления они начнут уборку виллы, не обращая на вас никакого внимания. На других виллах нам готовили завтрак и уходили. Ждали пока мы уйдет с виллы, а потом уже начинали уборку. Здесь никто ничего угадывать не будет - обозначайте четко время, когда приходить персоналу, иначе вы банально не сможете собраться, потому что персонал не будет спрашивать "можно я уберусь в спальне" или "можно я уберусь в ванной/туалете" - они просто пройдут молча мимо вас и начнут уборку. Они очень стараются, вопросов к ним нет, но тут уже вопрос к владельцам, которые давали указания, как надо работать и не создавать дискомфорта постояльцам. 4) никакого уединения. Вилла находится в комплексе вил и стоит самая первая. Всех соседей и рабочих, проходящих мимо вашей виллы, вы будете прекрасно видеть сидя за столом на кухне (они вас увидят тоже), потому что стены никакой нет, а растения, которые видимо по задумке должны были закрывать виллу, не справляются с этой задачей. Уюта никакого- спасибо хоть в спальне повесили жалюзи, иначе и спальня бы прекрасно с улицы просматривалась. 5) нулевая свето и шумоизоляция вил. Тонкие шторы, тонкие стены. Просыпаться будете с восходом солнца, потому что шторы скорее декоративные. А также в спальне с видом на рисовые поля невероятно жарко, даже когда работает кондиционер, потому что солнце будет светить прямо в спальню. 6) горячая вода в душе работает не всегда. Если вы включили, а ее секунд через 10 еще нет - выключите кран и включите снова. Повторяйте это действие, пока не начнет литься горячая. Несколько раз и это не помогало и приходилось мыться под холодной. Включили одновременно горячую воду в кране и в душе - ни там ни там она толком течь не будет. 7) совершенно не соответствует фотографиям. Судя по всему фото были сделаны много лет назад. Чтобы не быть голословным, приложил несколько фото. 8) даже отдельным пунктом решил выделить мебель. Кухонный стол весь липкий - чем жена его только не пыталась отмыть, все равно руки будут прилипать. "Замечательные" белые диваны, которые вы можете увидеть на фото виллы, уже давно не белые - все в пятках. Мы даже не присели на них ни разу, хотя раньше я думал, что я не такой брезгливый. 9) захотите чай или кофе- берете чайник, наливаете воды, ставите на плиту и включаете ее. Нет ни кулера, ни электрического чайника и уж тем более кофемашины. Тоже самое касается холодной воды - хотите просто попить? Держите всегда в холодильнике воду, потому что на вилле есть просто 5ти литровый бак воды с краном - на такой жаре вода там само собой всегда теплая. А про банальный минибар, который обычно есть на любой, даже самой бюджетной вилле, я вообще молчу. Тоже самое касается микроволновки- ее нет. Есть какая то печка, которая толком и не греет, по этому еду сможете разогреть только на плите. 10) насекомые и прочие жители виллы - тут всех хватает. Муравьи, тараканы, кузнечики, комары, всякие мошки, ящерицы, лягушки и даже скорпионы. Многие скажут - ну рядом же болото, рисовые поля, конечно тут должны быть насекомые. Мы жили много раз на виллах у воды - сотрудники виллы вечером всегда расставляли спирали и никогда мы не замечали этих насекомых в таких огромных кол-вах. На некоторых виллах несколько раз в неделю приходили сотрудники и обрабатывали всю территорию виллы специальным веществом, после которого, даже если мы на столе оставляли еду - муравьев мы все равно не видели. Тут же, приготовили завтрак, отошли на 10 минут - в тарелке будут ползать муравьи. Пару раз нам по новой готовили завтрак из за этого. 11) несколько раз вырубало электричество в сильный дождь. Опять же, как мне кажется, из за банального возраста этой виллы. 12) Последней каплей стало то, что в одно прекрасное утро в 10 метрах от нашей виллы начали делать ремонт на соседней. Под делать ремонт я имею ввиду ломать стены кувалдами, чтобы установить окна. Очень приятно это слышать в 8 утра. Только после того, как я пожаловался на это - рабочие начали шуметь только после 10. Сами они конечно до этого не могли догадаться. Для меня до сих пор загадка, откуда столько восторженных отзывов об этой вилле, хотя местные утверждают, что есть схема, которая позволяет с легкостью накручивать их - видимо так они и появились, другого объяснения я не вижу. Если бы эта вилла стоила максимум 100 долларов в сутки, я бы ничего не говорил - но даже за 100 долларов можно найти вариант получше. Вообщем на данный момент, из всех вил на которых мы жили, эта самая ужасная. Видимо владельцы хотят выжать из нее по максимуму денег, а потом просто перепродать кому-нибудь, когда кол-во негативных отзывов начнет зашкаливать.

Pros: beautiful view from the villa, nice staff, good communications with the owner and staff, great location if you have your own transport or will be using taxi/driver to explore Ubud area Cons: insects everywhere, far from Ubud (need taxi), hot water should be fixed (it works only after many attempts), photos do not reflect the reality (taken many years ago and the villa requires at least cosmetic renovation).

For the money you are paying for this place you could get a very nice hotel downtown Ubud. It’s very far from downtown. From the 3 nights we stayed there we only had breakfast made for us one day. It was difficult communicating with the staff about what time we needed breakfast as they wouldn’t respond. Also you would never know when staff was coming in and out of the house. Giving you very little sense of privacy. One night I woke up with security outside my bedroom door. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place because of location and overall amenities didn’t make this worth it .

The villa itself is lovely and beautifully designed. Probably not the best place for someone not wildlife equipped, but Kadek was amazing and very helpful at all times.

Beautiful villa, just not for us. The lack of aircon in the property, which is limited to one of the bedrooms, made it unsuitable for us. It was too hot to sleep or to stay there during the day. A fan was provided but this was really noisy. The villa is in a beautiful spot and the shared pool was great. Shame it did not have any umbrellas to hide from the sun.

Stephen's staff are wonderful and welcoming. Kadek is extremely genuine and has a lovely way with children, and our toddler warmed to her immediately. Stephen is prompt and courteous with all communication. We decided to leave the villa early due to construction work going on directly behind it (they helpfully agreed to refrain from using tools but there was, understandably, quite a bit of noise, which is quite common in Bali in general) and the quality of the villa. It has a lovely outlook directly onto the rice paddies but we found it in need of a refresh with the furniture quite old, cleanliness not up to scratch and the villa showing considerable signs of tropical living. It also isn't as private as we would have liked, with people able to look into the living spaces when walking to the other villas in the complex.

Die Unterkunft liegt an einem sehr ruhigen Ort mit einem wunderschönen Ausblick auf die Reisfelder, der Staff ist sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir waren nur zwei Nächte dort und trotzdem gab es ein paar Sachen zu beanstanden. Vor allem die Sauberkeit, die etwas zu wünschen übrig lässt. Die Bettwäsche, die Vorhänge sowie die Sitzangelegenheiten waren verfleckt und auch die Küche war nicht unbedingt unseren Wünschen entsprechend. Da der eigentliche Fahrer (Nyoman) verhindert war, hat ein anderer Fahrer namens Putu mit uns einen Tagesausflug durch Ubud und die Gegend gemacht - das war sehr toll!

Villa设计的很好，景观很精致，管家也及时响应，允许我们晚一个小时退房。但其中有几个不好的体验，我得说明一下。 1.欢迎饮料是提前开好了放在冰箱里的椰子，我们晚上拿出来喝的时候，发现有两个椰子水已经酸了，椰子水倒出来是褐色，我很后悔没有拍照，以至于我尝试和管家沟通时，他们把椰子打开说是很新鲜的，并不原因相信我。不知道是不是这个原因，导致我第二天上吐下泻去医院急症室挂水。 2.床上的枕头套有虫子的痕迹，蚊帐顶部看着也有点脏，入户期间，卫生间地面的毛巾都是虫子，毛巾也未更换。 3.最遗憾的窗外的稻田已被收割，没有欣赏到稻田景观。早上9点钟不到，稻田里就传来农民工作的机械声，非常响，持续到中午未停，我们赶了一夜飞机到达这里，在新年第一天想要睡懒觉的愿望达成失败。管家很严肃的告诉我，我不能让他们停止，政府会来找麻烦，且这种情况一年只会有2次，我们非常不幸运的碰到了。但管家也去和农民大叔沟通了，所以噪音只持续了一天。 4.早饭时间约定9点半，原来是9点半进来做早饭，吃上早饭大概在10点15，大家都饿坏了。 5.因为房源在农田边上，所以房间里外的昆虫很多，如果大家对虫子恐惧的，记得随时关闭房门。 我一直拖到最后才写评价，因为这套房源的其他评价都非常好，让我对自己的真实体验有些怀疑。当然写出来是希望房源以后能改进的更好，因为本身这个房源的美丽程度超过了巴厘岛90%的房源，他值得更好的体验。

Die Haus liegt schon eingebettet in einer kleinen Anlage von 10 Häusern. Es ist sehr ruhig und inmitten der Natur. Man braucht ca. 10-15 Minuten in die Stadt Ubud. Mit einem Taxi kein Problem. Ca. 60.000 IDR. Der Pool im Haus ist recht klein - zum Abkühlen perfekt, der Gemeinschaftspool ca 1 Min. vom Haus entfernt. Perfekt zum Schwimmen. Kader und Ihre Töchter machen ein einfaches leckeres Frühstück und reinigen jeden Tag. Das Haus ist perfekt für einen Ubud Aufenthalt. Danke! Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit.

Beautiful villa and wonderful hosts. The property looks exactly as the pictures show. Kadek and her daughters, Putu and Kadek, are such kind people and always keen to assist. We went in peak season so it did take about 30 minutes at times to get into town. It’s also worth noting there is not alot within walking distance but easy to get deliveries which we did a number of times. Very peaceful place, I highly recommend.

Beautiful view with the rice-field so lush now. Great family taking care of us. Lovely Kadek with twin daughters and husband driver Kadek. Did great babysitting, made nice breakfast. If you bring children that do not swim be aware of the water (pool, pond and stream) all around. Anna’s communication was quick and friendly. The trip to Ubud is fast. If you go early mornings or get dropped at the bottom of town. The furniture needs updating. The covers of the couch are stained, the leather weave from the chairs got moist/weather stains. Around the swimming pool, in the bathrooms, and under de gazebo it gets very slippery. All in all a nice place with very friendly staff that does need a few updates. Thank you!

If you want to experience the serenity of Ubud this is the place to stay. Watching the wildlife in the adjacent rice paddies is balm for the soul. Although it's about 20 minutes to the centre of Ubud, the friendly drivers are on hand to whisk you there for shopping, dining or a rejuvenating spa experience.

Maison identique aux photos . Très lumineuse , Moderne , Bien décorée . Le personnel de la villa Kadek ainsi que le chauffeur Nyoman étaient très serviables et professionnels. Le logement quand à lui était pour notre part un peu trop éloigné du centre ville de UBUD. Pour nous qui n’avions pas de véhicule c’était très contraignant de devoir faire appel à des services pour se restaurer tous les soirs il n’y a vraiment aucuns commerces ni restaurant aux alentours . Une fois commandé ; les repas étaient froids . Nous étions au courant que la villa était retirée dans les champs mais à ce point .

We loved Anna’s space - the place is gorgeous and we were ready for a quiet and relaxing stay. the other reviews mention tranquility...sadly not our experience. A loudspeaker started broadcasting from 4:00am-7:30am the most random and garbled loud noises every morning. We’d been in county for many weeks, so at first we assumed it was a local temple, but by 7:30 there was a laugh track playing, and it sounded nothing like the local temples in the villages we had been in to that point. Almost as if someone were broadcasting hours worth of a recording? Really bizarre. The location was also pretty far outside of town. It’s about a 30 min walk (but we don’t recommend it) and as the roads are notoriously bad in Bali, it’s just about as long a drive. Nothing nearby that we could find, so making the trek was necessary. We tried many times to arrange with the driver but he was never available, so we were left to figure out our own way home. And since locals are loudly anti-GoJek, Bluebird, you’re at the mercy of the local hecklers... All in all, the place is really pretty, totally spotless and the staff is super nice - we loved Kadek! But it’s not a super restful sleep or accessible to Ubud like we expected. When our friends from Singapore reached out to let us know they were in Bali, we were honestly a bit thrilled to have a reason to leave. Disappointing the host wouldn’t accommodate any changes to our stay, but like a I said we were just glad to be out of there and looking forward to getting a full nights sleep.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft direkt am Reisfeld. Mit einer kleinen Wanderung ist das Zentrum von Ubud in 45 Minuten zu erreichen.

民宿的自然环境很美，房屋建筑融入自然中，图片即实景。但若对于软件设施要求较高的朋友建议慎选，卫生条件较差，阴面的房间潮湿阴暗，有些许霉味……总体而言，性价比不高。

Beautiful villa in a nice and safe neighbourhood. There driver Nyoman is absolutelly amazing.

Anna’s place was beautiful. We went during the rainy season so it was nice to view the rain outside while still “inside.” Every morning a flock of ducks would greet us outside the field and it was fun watching them while having breakfast. Since everything was expose to the elements besides the bedroom, we did deal with animals/lizard residuals left on some of the white furniture. Either wise the home is definitely an serene experience to stay. Our host Kadek and her was assistant was amazing. Every morning our breakfast was made and was absolutely delicious. Wayan cooked us dinner every night, if you want truly delicious Balinese cooking, I highly recommend y’all putting in some orders for her cooking!

I've just returned from a lovely holiday in Bali with my family and am already missing it! The first stop on our trip was Ubud, and what a great way to start our vacation! River Moon is one of 10 villas that make up Desa Bulan, which translates to Moon Village in English. It is located south of Ubud in the village of Lodtunduh, which is away from the hustle and bustle you find in Central Ubud and boasts beautiful views of the rice paddies. The villa is technically walking distance to Ubud, but unless you like to walk a lot, you will need to hire a driver to take you to and from the center of town (about $8 USD each way). The good news is that the villas have wonderful drivers available to take you where you need to go (shout out to Nyoman and Nik!). Unlike some of the other villas in the complex, River Moon does not have a private pool, but the communal pool was just steps away and always empty, so it felt like our own. As for the villa itself, it is beautifully designed and decorated. However, the one negative for us that caused some familial tension was that only one of the bedrooms is air conditioned, as the other room has a large opening at the ceiling. Being completely open to the elements resulted in some unwanted visitors (geckos and other pests), dampness, and warm nights (although there was a ceiling fan that helped). Last but not least is the staff of River Moon. Kadek, the house manager, has been with River Moon since its inception and treats it like her second home. Her love for the place and care for the people staying in it just made our experience so much better. She and Wayan, who cleaned and helped to care for the villa, respected our privacy and came while we were out. However, it was always a pleasure when we did get to interact with them. Just wonderful people who made us feel at home! If you can handle a few bugs and balmy nights, I highly recommend River Moon Villa for your stay in Bali. The breathtaking scenery, stylish interiors, and lovely people make the lack of AC and exposure to the elements just part of the experience!

Our family of 5, including 3 kids under 5 had a wonderful 4 night stay. The villa is located in a village south of Ubud in such a picturesque location. Our stay coincided with a ceremony so it was a great experience for us to observe this celebration in the local village. The villas design is peaceful and relaxing. Kadek the housekeeper is fantastic and so helpful with our questions and my kids loved her pancakes in the morning. Nyoman the driver always responded immediately to our requests for transport around Ubud. The traffic can be very congested at times so it worthwhile working out peak hour travel. If possible, try and arrange the driver to collect you from Ubud as well as its much easier than bartering with the local taxis to get back to the villa. It was a special place to stay. My kids loved Kadek, the communal pool, feeding the fish with Wyan and the occasional wildlife visitor including a few frogs, geckos and lizards. My husband and I enjoyed the staff, the incredible view and the serenity. Thanks to the owner Stephen for organising everything in advance for us.

We did not had the chance to meet Stephen but it was very easy to communicate with him and he was quite responsive. The villa is gorgeous within a few minutes drive from Ubud but very quiet. The villa is exactly like the pictures. The swimming pool is not private but we had it for our own during the stay. The staff working in the villa (Kadek and Wayan) are really great, kind and very helpful. They contributed to make our stay a real pleasure.

River moon villa is very well decorated, location is quite, in the middle of the rice field. The staff is very friendly and nice. We had a little misunderstanding about nanny service but Kadek helped us to solve it. It was a very nice stay.

Vi elskede det her sted. Så smukt og roligt i en ellers hektisk by. Den daglige rengøring var den bedste vi nogensinde har prøvet. Sengene var gode at sove i og vi nød både den private pool og fælles pool. Kan varmt anbefale stedet.

The best stay in Bali yet! The most incredible comfortable oasis ever I could live there! The staff have been nothing short of extraordinary. Nothing is too hard and they make sure you have everything you need! Can’t wait to stay again

We had a 10 night stay and River Moon Villa met all our expectations. The Villa is set in a beautiful, peaceful location and had all the amenities as set out in the description. Kadek, the House Manager, was delightful and made our stay extra special; wonderful breakfasts and very responsive to any queries. We will definitely book River Moon again next year.

We had the most delightful stay at River Moon. The villa is beautifully designed and laid out and situated on the edge of rice fields in a tranquil village. We spent ten blissful days relaxing at the Villa, only leaving to eat and get provisions. Being located just outside of Ubud, it is close enough to access the centre easily by scooter or taxi but is peacefully removed from Ubud’s bustle. The staff are really wonderful - Kadek and her daughters took great care of us and made us a beautiful breakfast each morning. We will absolutely return on our next trip to Ubud.

We love this beautiful villa and had a very relaxing & peaceful time throughout our stay. Bu Kadek, the house manager was very welcoming, communicative and always there to help us whenever we needed her. The breakfast she prepared for us was simple but really tasty. It was so nice to wake up every morning with a serene rice field view and fall asleep with the sound of music from crickets and frogs. Another thing that i love about this villa is its beautiful outdoor shower which allowed me to take a bath under lush palm trees. The river moon villa is definitely a heaven for nature lovers! 😊

We had a wonderful time in Villa River Moon. It’s a very peaceful place with great views across a nice rice field which starts right behind the pool. We loved the open-air “living room” between the two parts of the house. One of the bedrooms has an amazing view over the field which is a beautiful sight to wake up to. Our daughter liked the two small ponds and that she was allowed to feed the fish in the morning. Our son loved the pool which was small but deep enough for the kids to swim around a little, or just to hang out. Although there are other villas next door, we had total privacy. The family who manages the house are truly wonderful people, making us feel very welcome from start to the end. We will always keep this place in our hearts.

We have a wonderful stay, Kadek and her daughters are so warm and kind we appreciated how welcoming they were to us and our two children. Our kids loved the koi fish and the geckos and of course the pool. Can’t wait to come back.

The most pleasant part of the stay was the local family managing the property. Their service, especially the delicious local breakfasts prepared at your own kitchen is an unforgettable experience. The place was very well maintained, cleaned every day. The experience was very personal and 'homely', like staying with your good friends or family.

Kadek la femme qui s’occupe de la maison est adorable et nous a préparer de super petit déjeuner. La villa est belle dans un quartier calme pas loin du centre d’ubud. L’insonorisation des chambres est moyenne mais j’ai l’impression que c’est fréquent à Bali. Les rizières devant la maison avaient été récoltés et c’est donc moins jolie.

A really wonderful space for a retreat like trip - my wife was working remotely so love it, as was serene, spacious and very back to nature. As singapore expats we are quite used to gekkos and other creatures so were very comfortable with the wildlife and really enjoyed watching the visitors to the rice paddy (birds, bats, fireflies etc). Staff were very sweet and the laundry was very very cheap! Was quite amazed! just

Villa River Moon is beautiful, clean and better than the pictures. my husband and I had the most serene and pleasant stay. The views took our breath away! Besides the rice field, we were also surrounded by lush landscape and a river flowing across the entrance. Kadek the manager was quick to respond to all our queries, and Tarik and his family took very good care of us from renting a scooter, airport transfers, and delicious breakfasts cooked in the villa. We expected some wild life in the villa next to the rice field and all we got were cute little frogs and funny ducks hanging out in the field. It's a great little get away with good internet connection for remote working. Thanks for a great stay!

Such a beautiful and peaceful place, minutes away from Ubud city center. We loved everything about our stay there! Anna as well as Kadek, the house manager, were very pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend this place.

We had the most wonderful time at Moon Villa. The photos don't really do it justice - it's the most incredibly peaceful, gorgeous place. The host and villa manager were both very responsive, helpful, and friendly. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who visits Ubud!

Très belle villa lumineuse avec une vue sur les rizières ,un havre de paix, idéalement située au sud de Ubud. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour en famille. Kadek et sa famille sont d’une gentillesse et toujours très disponibles. Le petit déjeuner compris dans la nuitée est un plus et très appréciable. La villa est entourée d’autres villas et une piscine plus grande est à la disposition de tous.

We are a family that likes a home base while traveling. Anna's place was wonderful. The staff was amazing. Connected us with drivers, tours, information, etc. The breakfast every morning was wonderful. The home feels very safe with staff on site. We had zero issues what so ever. Really felt like we were staying a hotel but with total privacy. We did a few grocery store runs & ate out a fair amount. The house was spotless and was cleaned everyday. Would absolutely recommend Anna's place for an Ubud retreat. It felt very peaceful and relaxing.

We loved our time at this beautiful villa and were overall very satisfied with our stay! Pro: Everything from the staff at the villa until the villa itself, the location and the surroundings. Cons: Not really super negative but for this price range we expected a little more food choices for breakfast. It’s either pancakes, eggs (omelet, scrambled, etc.) or fruits. If you stay for longer this can be a challenge hence it results in an unbalanced died and apparently you’re not able to book without the breakfast. Plus if you want breakfast, every morning the staff is in the villa hence breakfast is made in the villas kitchen. But as mentioned before, nothing really negative and you can skip breakfast if you want. Overall super nice villa and we would have loved to stay for longer and would definitely come back :-)! Thanks to Kadek and her super nice daughters!

What can I say…. This was a truly magical stay! Not only are the Villa and surrounds absolutely stunning, but the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Kedek and her daughters truly made us feel part of the family, while wayan Suriani gave us a cooking class and shared with us all the delights of Indonesian cuisine. I would highly recommend getting her to cook for you or doing a cooking class with her during your stay! We were very sad to leave and hope to come back very soon!

River Moon Villa was absolutely delightful. The place is better than the pictures, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. It is in a quiet spot in Lodtunduh village and perfect for a relaxed stay. Anna was very communicative. She patiently answered my many questions regarding updates on whether the rice fields were green. Villa manager Kadek and team is wonderful, friendly and very efficient. They made simple but delicious breakfast for us and even accommodated my request for a vegetarian breakfast. Do note Ubud center is a 15 minutes drive. The nearest supermarket is also a longish walk so if you are planning to cook, do stock up before checking in. But deliveries and cabs are very easily available. We had several visitors including geckos and a couple of cats. But it is right on the rice fields so only to be expected. The villa is very aesthetic and the view is gorgeous. Had the best time lazing about doing nothing. Highly recommend.

Loved our stay here so much! It’s just outside the bustle of the city, so it’s quiet, but accessible to everything awesome! The breakfast was always delicious and Kadek the house manager was super thoughtful and kind! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This place was lovely in every aspect. Conveniently located in a small village south of Ubud that is far enough away from the crowds. Everything was spot on and just as described, though the photos don’t do this place justice. It looks way nicer once you get there. What really stood out for us was the hospitality of Kadek and her family, who look after the villa. We‘d come again.

Anna’s place was a wonderful oasis for our family. We loved it. And Kadek and her family were incredible in managing the space.

This is a beautiful place to stay and the villa staff are lovely. We loved the shared pool too. You do need wheeled transport to get around as Ubud area is not really walkable - the local transport operators post signs discouraging rideshare (e.g. Grab) but that seems a lost cause and we used it to go everywhere (except longer trips which the villa manager Ibu Kadek arranged and which were great).

Stunning property and surroundings. Fantastic villas with all comforts and access to two pools (plunge pool and a bigger. Nominal pool). Lovely breakfast and service from the house attendants (Kadeks and their lovely daughters). Only drawback was that it can sometimes take up to 25 - 30 mins to get to Ubud central in a taxi due to heavy traffic, but that would not deter us from staying here again.

we stayed 2 nights with family. check in was very smooth. Villa staff were helpful throughout stay. Place is exactly as per pics published. We ordered dinner from local chef Wuyan who was recommended by villa owner, but not worth it. out of 4 items we ordered, two are not good. swimming pool well maintained. Lot of lizards in villa, that is something we can't avoid as we are right beside paddy fields 😀 Breakfast selection very limited, this should be improved. For USD 250 per night stay a decent breakfast expected.

We loved staying just a few minutes outside of ubud and was exactly what we were after. Would love to stay here again when we visit Bali next time!

What a beautiful villa in a beautiful location. Moon River is a wonderful place for a holiday and Kadek manages and maintains the property exceptionally well. It is hard to maintain a house in the tropics and it is a credit to Kadek just how well she does so. The morning breakfast is fantastic, the communication and advice all you could ask for and Kadek (the other Kadek) was always available to drive us around, organise tours and make sure we were safe. Big thank you to both Kadek’s and their beautiful daughters for giving us such a wonderful holiday, we only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend Moon River, such a lovely and tranquil location. We will be back!

Villa River Moon was perfect! It’s at a beautifull location, really good service and amazing house! It was perfect for our family incl 9 year old twins.

What an incredible stay. We arrived late in the evening, and Kadek, the house there to welcome us and show us around. Security helped us with our bags and were very welcoming. The villa is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. The view is great, it's quiet, spacious and airy. Kadek and her family are incredible, they are very friendly, welcoming, and respectful. The family is very helpful and made the stay even better. It has been the best stay in Bali, we wil be back.

Anna's place was lovely. The views of the rice field are incredible, and the place feels very much a part of nature (LOVE the koi ponds!) Kadek and her daughters were so sweet, and the place was kept really clean and tidy. The house is an open Balinese style but I always felt safe. You can lock all the rooms, and there was a security guard there every night, which was really appreciated. Bali is very safe, but it just gives peace of mind. Anna was very easy to deal with. Would recommend this place!

River Moon is an absolutely beautiful place and our family loved it there. Kadek, Kadek, Putu and Kadek are genuine and warm people, very responsive, and were lovely to my daughters especially. Our family also had a cooking class with Wayan, who was wonderful as well, and we made fantastic food together. The house is very well designed and absolutely gorgeous. The bedrooms can be closed off and are air conditioned, the outside spaces are lovely to just sit in and read a book, and the view out through the rice fields is stunning. There is a small pool at the house, and a larger pool that is part of the complex a short walk away. Do not hesitate to book this house!

Wir (meine Frau, unsere beiden Söhne 15 und 18 und ich) wurden vom Flughafen abgeholt, das hat reibungslos funktioniert. Die Villa übertraf unsere Erwartungen. Kadek und seine Familie haben sich hervorragend um uns gekümmert und zwar in genau dem richtigen Maß. Das von den Kadeks frisch zubereitete Frühstück bestand aus wahlweise Omelette, Rührei oder Pfannkuchen, Brot und selbstgemachtem Aufstrich und frischem Obst. Dazu wahlweise Kaffee oder Tee. Wir können die Villa River Moon nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Anna the host is kind, welcoming, communicative and quick to respond. The house manager Kadek and her two daughters made delicious breakfast every morning. Kadek also informed us when there are ceremonies being held nearby and invited us to go and observed the rituals. Her husband is the driver who picked us up from the airport and drove us safely to the villa in the middle of the night and helped checked-us in. River Moon is gorgeous and the padi fields view are amazing. Villa is quiet, peaceful and relaxing, it is around 10 minutes by car to Ubud. Kitchen is fully equipped should you wish to make a meal or two. This airbnb is one of the best relaxing stays we ever had, so much so my family just wanted to stay-in and chill.

We had a wonderful stay at this place. The location is absolutely stunning overlooking the rice fields and the place itself is an absolute dream. All facilities are available and we could not have asked for more. Special thanks to Dedek and her lovely twins for looking after us and for cooking us an amazing breakfast every morning.

We loved staying at Anna’s place! The amazing serene view, great staff, beautiful villa and helpful suggestions all exceeded our expectations. Anna was very responsive to all our questions and Kadek and her daughters were wonderful, not only making us feel welcome, well fed and comfortable but they also helped us find gluten free food for our daughter who has a severe allergy. Our drivers were all safe and very friendly and dealt with the Ubud traffic expertly. That made it easy to get into town and around to attractions nearby although count on everything taking longer than map apps suggest. We took the local walking path through the rice fields into the Sacred Monkey Forest and I would highly recommend it - but not right after a rain as it is likely to be very muddy!

This is an amazing beautiful property very peaceful full of beautiful touching and details. A fish pound couple water fountains, very clean very comfortable beds and duvets very nice decorations all over the house spotless bathrooms in each corner of the house they’re amazing beautiful surroundings. Kadek (person in charge of the property) and the whole family they’re very amazing hostess they always so attentive they communicate very well they definitely make a big part of the experience staying on this property very friendly her and the 2 oldest daughters made an amazing breakfast for us every morning her husband pick us up on the port terminal and he took us back to the next destination he is very knowledgable and very attentive their daughter spend some times with our daughters and they had an amazing time we highly recommend this property with kadek and the family thank you very much for everything And make our time in the villa so memorable 🙏🏼

Our stay at Anna’s was incredible! The pictures don’t even do Justice, the space is even more beautiful in person. The house manager Kadek helped us with all our needs and made delicious breakfast daily. This villa is in the perfect location, clean, calm, relaxing, spacious, fully equipped kitchen, truly everything you need. And the views! Wow. Town and shopping is very close by. I can’t wait to stay at this spectacular place again.

this is such a special place, just what we were looking for. it's outside the main Ubud center which means much more peaceful and less traffic. Can be a bit of a pain to get into the center during rush hour, but quite easy to get food delivered if needed. The Villa was absolutely beautiful, serenely beautiful with amazing views. Anna was a joy to deal with and the staff were really pleasant. I cannot fault this place and we will definitely be returning.

This River Moon Villa has stolen our hearts the moment we step in on the bridge towards the entrance gate. One of the best located unit in the village. We especially love the room composition and the side of the view to the ricefield, with lots of surprisingly beautiful seating places. River Moon Villa can easily be the most memorable highlights of our stay in Bali.

Simply worth staying! The villa is absolutely beautiful! Exactly what you see in the listing! If only we had more time to stay longer, we definitely would! Great Ubud location close to everything including a Pepito’s market (wear your helmet at that intersection or you’ll get a ticket, I learned the a hard way). We love this place, and we especially love the staff, Kadek (house manager) and Kadek (her husband and driver) and their twin teenage girls who lovingly cooked amazing breakfast each morning and became our friends. Wonderful family. Will take care of anything you need. Perfect size house for two people (but will accommodate 4), as we use the extra bedroom for your luggage and dressing area. Calm and peaceful. Amazing value. Not a huge place but perfect for the two of us and comfortably laid out. I’ve stayed at two other houses in the same complex (as well as many other AIRBNB’s in Ubud area) and this has been my best overall experience. We will definitely stay here when we return to Ubud.

This is a must in Ubud, the most beautiful stay ever. Be aware you will have some friends (lizards and frogs) share your space but very harmless. The plunge pool is perfect and the shared pool is even better (we had it to ourselves the entire time). The rice fields were so gorgeous, the food was great (my partner will dearly miss the banana crepes). Book Wayan to have her cook for you (green pancakes too good) her food taste like a home cooked meal. Kadek (house manager) is the sweetest and extremely caring mom and her girls are so lovely. Kadek (husband and driver) is pretty awesome, he was so patient with us and was available for all of our random request. This was the biggest highlight of our trip, we regret we didn’t book for a longer stay.

It was our first house upon arrival in Bali and we loved it right away . It was peacefull , beautiful vieuw and it was so nice and easy staying there . Kadek ( housemanager ) was amazing . She organised everything for us . There was even a high chair , a potty a bed for our baby . And she organised massages and she did some babysitting ! We loved it and our 2 year old daugther also !

Stayed July 2022. Gorgeous villa and the friendly staff are wonderful. Very very well kept Villa and complex, many thanks to Kedek and the girls. Highly recommend to have Wayan Suriani come to the Villa for a cooking class (her brochure is in the Villa). The food tasted amazing….better than anywhere in Bali that we have tried and we thought it was a very reasonable price. Wayan gave me a lot more confidence when it comes to cooking with spices and we will use her recipes at home and remember her always.

River Moon is the most beautiful location ever!!! The views over the ricefields are breathtaking, the design is well thought of (lots of sitting areas), gorgeous open air bathrooms, privacy and last but not least Kadek and her daughters. They made us feel so welcome and served us delicious breakfast every morning. Her husband Kadek took us every where we wanted to go, at anytime we wanted to. Always with a big smile. What an unreal property! It is absolutely stunning and upon arrival we were blown away at the beauty! The staff were just amazing and went above and beyond. Breakfast was simple but good. Ordered delivery to the property a couple times with no issues. If you like to sleep in, bring your earplugs as the roosters did wake us up extra early, that was the only downfall, and that made for a tiring day the next day as it was a 530 wake up from them! Also be prepared for harmless geckos and frogs, which just added to the outdoor villa experience! If you are looking for a breathtaking, remarkable gorgeous property, this is it!!

This is a really serene place to arrive to and get away from the chaos of Ubud. The views of the rice paddies are very tranquil and Kadek & Kadek are absolutely gorgeous. We were easily able to organise scooter rental for our two days which made the location not a problem but if you wanted to walk places this would be a little out of the way. I would recommend for a peaceful stay away from the centre.

Красивый вид на рисовые террасы, огромное пространство! Комаров не было, Но будьте готовы увидеть много насекомых, мы пережили и нашествие кузнечиков, и мотыльков, и мух, и насекомых очень сильно похожих на рыжих тараканов, размером с мадагаскарского 🙈 (они летят с рисовых полей). Так же на вилле встречаются вараны, очень много маленьких, но один раз видели метрового! За два месяца пребывания, на виллу заползали змеи два раза (один раз в ванну, маленькая - не ядовитая, и один раз на террасу 1,5 метровая, чёрная с желтыми кольцами - местные сказали что она ядовитая). Но все обошлось! Даже это не омрачило наш отдых! Виллу рекомендую! P.s. Ценные вещи обязательно но храните в сейфе!

What a place, what a stay!! Villa is housed within a little complex about 15mins drive from central Ubud. Really quiet and peaceful during our stay. Shared pool is spectacular and a perfect temperature. We had it to ourselves each time we went for a swim. The villa is gorgeously set out with folding doors to open up all the spaces to the outside. We had a fantastic view of the rice paddies and the daily workings of the farmer. Fans for the living spaces and aircons in the bedrooms made it nice and cool even with the doors open. Bed/pillows/linen/towels were the comfiest we’ve experienced in Bali to date. The outside bathrooms were stunning and that giant bath - wow! Balinese made soaps were a thoughtful touch. We were looked after during our stay by the wonderful Kadek (housekeeper) . She makes a very tasty breakfast (included) and has a serious wealth of knowledge about all things Balinese. Kadek’s husband (also called Kadek) was our driver for 6 days and was very safe and reliable. The villa lends you a local mobile phone so calling him for collection was easy and fast. Make sure you have Wayan Suriani cook for you during your stay (villa provides her menu). We had her come 3 times and it was some of the best Balinese food we’ve eaten! This villa provides the quintessential Balinese experience with its indoor/outdoor living and front yard rice paddies. This means part of the experience is living with the wildlife - ants, geckos, frogs, ducks, bugs etc. both inside and outside the villa. Best pick a well sealed hotel if this isn’t for you. Can’t wait to return!

This place is a hidden gem - the villa has best in class amenities, the rice field view are great and the support staff is all the guides you need in Ubud. Loved the fact it’s 15 min away from the center, so we felt in the wilderness but just a short drive away from all the key spots... shout out to the awesome pool and friendly community around the villa. Loved River Moon! We had a small snag at check-in that was remedied quickly and thankfully didn’t impact the rest of our stay. The home is beautiful, loved the indoor/outdoor space. Kadek, the house manager, was absolutely delightful. She made breakfast each morning and came back in the evenings for turndown service, and kept the place spotless. The house is a little far south of town. It wasn’t very walkable, but was a short car ride away and there were several drivers who take care of all the villas in the area, so it wasn’t a big deal. Would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Ubud!

It was really wonderful and peaceful memory while staying your house. The house was beautiful as I expected, and calm which feeling I am at my country house. And we loved the swimming pool, although it was commonal pool, but still good enough. Speciall thanks to Kadek, her hospitality was great, it feels like with mom, and her breakfast was also great. :) Hope we can stay for the next time if we visit Bali again. Thank you everyone.

What a great house in a great location. Every morning we had a nice breakfast made for us by the amazing and friendly staff. Nice location a bit outside of Ubud, and host a great local driver who took us around when needed (and had great recommendations for us). The shared pool area was very much apreciated by our kids and was very nice to cool down in after long day exploring the Ubud area.

Amazing home away from home... living near the rice fields with only a few minutes from Ubud center made it a great stay. Our stay in Bali was wonderful, and was made even better by the amazing hospitality of the staff at Desa Bulan. Our driver Nyoman and housekeeper Kadek were incredibly kind and took amazing care of us and our young kids throughout our stay. We had been considering staying in a luxury resort for our trip in Bali, but we were so glad to have picked the River Moon villa. The villa is quite spacious, with multiple sitting areas and even a pond! The bedrooms are enclosed and air conditioned, but everything else is basically outside, so expect to see some bugs and geckos. The little creatures were not at all bothersome, but if you're squeamish around bugs, Bali might not be the place for you! Anyway, we really enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it. We'll be recommending it to our family and friends as well. Thank you!

This property is amazing! We experienced a four night stay here and wished we had longer. Its location is just outside of Ubud to the south and offers true peace and tranquility. It is very well designed, furnished and styled. It has beautiful uninterrupted views over rice fields and is surrounded by coconut palms. The space could accommodate four people very comfortably, each bedroom havijg private bathrooms. If you want close proximity to Ubud central but with serene nature, peace and quiet this place is for you. Be sure to have Kadek's omelette! Many thanks!!

Truly amazing villa. Wonderful design, exceptionally clean and graag service. Located in the middle of the rice paddies with excellent privacy, security. A short ride into town of about 5 minutes by car or 3 minutes by bike.

10/10 - this villa is a great alternative to the bustling streets of Canggu and Seminyak to explore Ubud - it is peaceful and laid back with a great pool that is barely used by other villas in the complex. Our young kids enjoyed getting to know the local wildlife - lizards, frogs, butterflies and fish in the villa - waking up to an amazing rice field view every morning is hard to beat. We were also well looked after by Kadek and Kadek (husband and wife) who cleaned, cooked breakfast, driver and most of all, friendly and great local knowledge - we would recommend this villa to family and friends.

We had 6 nights at River Moon and highly recommend it. The villa sits on the edge of a rice paddy and offers tranquility not expected in Ubud. It's beautifully designed and stylishly & comfortably appointed...its even nicer than the photos suggest. Kadek, the house manager, takes care of everything including whipping up a terrific breakfast each morning and keeping the house immaculate. Her husband, also Kadek, can be hired to drive for dinner, shopping and/or sightseeing. Both speak very good English and take pleasure in being helpful. Fresh flowers throughout and daily offerings are a lovely touch. The nearby pool is shared for the community, but we never saw anyone else there. If you're seeking a beautiful, peaceful space close to downtown but not in it, River Moon is the perfect spot.

The villa was lovely and we particularly enjoyed how open the space was :) Of course with that comes various animal visitors but that is to be expected. Communication with Stephen was speedy and very helpful, their villa driver Nyoman was so incredible and happy to wait 2 hours for us when our boat was very late, and last but not least Kadek who cleaned and made us breakfast everyday was wonderful. Highly recommend for a relaxing yet central stay in Ubud :)

Idyllic place, lovelier than what you see in the photos. We travelled with our 3 year old, she really enjoyed running about, feeding the fishes in the small ponds and Kadek's banana pancakes :) Would recommend it for anyone looking for some R&R, or even just a calm beautiful start to your day.

We stayed in this beautiful Villa with our three girls for nearly a week. It was really awesome. The villa is clean and nothing can beat the rice paddy view. We were surrounded by nature and this was so relaxing. The beds are very comfy. We went swimming several times at the communal pool,really nice. The staff of the Villa ist awesome. Nyoman the driver is one of the nicest persons i met,our kids loved him. Kadek made us breakfast every morning. She was so lovely. She took care of our girls one afternoon and they had such a great time. I cannot recommend the villa enoufh,it's perfect for a stay in Ubud.

My family and I (2 adults and 3 children) had a wonderful stay in this villa. The house is very clean, well decorated and spacious. The view from the terrace on the rice fields is awesome. The pool shared by some other villas is only 50m away and secluded within a nice private area surrounded with trees. The welcoming by the house staff (Kadek and the driver Nyoman) was just fantastic. The place is very quiet and near Ubud. Unforgettable moments spent in this villa that I highly recommend.

Beautifully designed, stylishly furnished, home cooked chef meal, in-house massage, day trips with Nyoman, beautiful breakfast by the lovely Kadek, waking up to the amazing views of the rice fields, glimpses of village life...superb. My 7 year old spent a lot of time feeding the fish! Stephen patiently and promptly answered my many questions! Many thanks, loved our stay!

The place was incredible. Our hosts were very accommodating and kind, they helped us with everything we needed. Even if they couldn't help, they went out of their way to find some other accomodation. The villa was incredible, but was only made better by the staff. The cooking was delicious and they always made sure the place was very clean. Our driver Nyoman, who is a common driver of the villa, was our highlight of the trip. One of the kindest and respectful human beings I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I recommend this place to everyone who wishes to vacation in Bali.

The villa is charming and the setting is peaceful...while being so close to Ubud! This retreat in the midst of the padi fields and river was gorgeous. The staff were helpful and professional and made us feel welcomed!

Our stay at River Moon was amazing! It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, as you are in the middle of a rice field with all that has to offer, including geckos and bugs, and an outdoor shower/bathroom. However, the space is beautiful and clean, and Kadek, the house manager was lovely! She made us breakfast each morning and was gracious and sweet. We would definitely stay again!

River Moon is a wonderful place to stay in Ubud. The villa is stylish and elegant, with brilliant and friendly staff ready to help you with whatever you need. I loved my time there and will be rebooking. The villa is a five minute taxi to central Ubud, and an afternoon away from most of the top sights. It’s sat within a very private group of ten villas, that have the perfect balance of secluded & social (if you want to be!)

A serene space bordering rice fields. It has a very calm vibe, tucked away in a really green corner. The highlight of the experience was the staff - Kadek who was very friendly and warm, made excellent breakfast each morning and even came late at night when the water needed to be replenished & Nyoman the driver who was a great guide and gave us a lot of insights into the local culture. Both are very dedicated and reliable. It was a lovely stay.

This is the most beautiful place on earth! we are returning here for the third year :) and next year we will come again :)

Beautiful view and very stylish house. Just 2km far from a ubud Main Street. Great spa nearby (Jaens spa) you can call directly to the spa and they will send you a driver for free. Everybody in the house will try to overcharge you. Better get taxi from street for your every day go and back to town, don’t be scared even if kadek or Nyoman try to scare you about it, All the services from the travel agencies in Main Street are quite good and safe, just you need to bargain the price. If you love yoga, you will find a beautiful place in town call yoga barn, check schedule from web.

Our stay at River Moon absolutely exceeded our expeditions. The home is even more stunning than the pictures. It wasn’t just the amazing home, cleanliness and breathtaking rice field views that made our stay so great, but the driver, Nyoman, who was definitely the highlight of our trip. My grandma has a walking disability and he was there to assist her every day in every instance. He was so patient, kind, funny and accommodating...and also took us to the BEST spots! Our trip definitely would not have been the same without him. Don’t hesitate for a second if you’re thinking about booking this place. I can’t wait to come back!!

Что понравилось: - отличная вилла, много зелени, все красиво и ухожено, уютно - прекрасный вид на рисовые поля (правда, во время нашего отдыха, они ещё не позеленели толком) - чувствуешь себя в безопасности, тк вилла находится в комплексе под охраной - несмотря на то, что несколько вилл находятся очень близко друг к другу, благодаря зелени создаётся впечатление, что соседей нет:) - включены в стоимость завтраки - кондиционеры работают хорошо - чистая уборка Недостатки: - однообразные завтраки (яйцо, хлеб, блины). Но это я, скорее, придираюсь. - бассейн общий с остальными виллами, но при нас там никто не плавал. При бронировании упустил это из виду... - плохо течёт и греется вода в душевых, невозможно принимать душ в двух ванных одновременно. Эту виллу могу рекомендовать однозначно!

We loved our stay at "Moon River". A stylish Villa, set with 10 other villas, in a lovely rural setting. The Villa is kept very clean by Kadek and Wayan, who also prepare a delicious breakfast each morning. The shared pool is gorgeous and each time we used it we were the only swimmers. I wish we had booked for longer than 3 nights so we could have spent more time relaxing and exploring the immediate neighbourhood.

A wonderful home in Ubud that doesn't disappoint. Stylishly designed house facing the rice paddies, Anna's place is an iconic villa that captures exactly what Ubud has to offer. Having Nik drive and show me around Ubud and Kadek look after me with all my needs inside the villa was icing on the cake too. Highly recommended!

River Moon villa is a wonderfull villa located a bit outside of Ubud which means no traffic around. 10 minutes drive to Ubud downtown and 20 minutes walk if you do not want to stuck in the traffic. you can find a lot of nice restaurants not far from the villa. the swimming pool was nice, the children will love it. we love the big bath tub too, it's so big maybe you can fit 2 to 3 people in it. the bali bathroom concept of open air bathroom is very nice. spacious and nice living room. the interior of the villa is superb, you will have a great time just staying in the villa. our family was very happy and pleased staying here. highly recommended.

This house is perfectly situated in a quiet area just outside of the main Ubud town. It's surrounded by beautiful rice fields and the layout of the house allows for many places to relax. The shared pool is also very nice and a 2 second walk out the front of the house. For those who rent a motorbike, it's a great spot to get around to restaurants on the edge of the town as well as along the ridge. It's about a 5 minute motorbike to Monkey forrest and the main shopping area. Kadek, the house Balinese host is wonderful and helpful each day. Nyoman the driver is also extremely helpful and has great communication. I have been to Ubud 5 times and we would definitely stay here again.

The four of us really enjoyed our stay. The villa is beautiful and peaceful. The outdoor bathrooms are lovely. Wayan arrives each morning to cook a breakfast for you. All options taste great! They provided us with a mobile phone so we could contact the driver or Kadek for assistance at any time. Would happily stay here again.

Anna's place is a paradise, Surrounded by beautiful lush green rice gardens. If you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the Ubud centre and still be closer to all the happening places in Ubud, Anna's place is the perfect choice. Beautiful white furniture complimenting the greens and browns of the nature. The communal pool is a win win with amazing design. We enjoyed every bit of our stay at her place and we look forward to visit the same as soon as we can. Kadek is a wonderful care taker and kudos to her for looking well after us.

Where do I even begin? My family and I have travelled the world and our stay here was one of the most enjoyable and amazing experiences we have ever had. First off the villa is gorgeous. We loved waking up to the beautiful rice fields. The ducks, fish and lizards were a blast, our daughter loved checking out everything! The villa is close enough to city of Ubud but yet far enough that you aren't in the hustle and bustle. Breakfast and coffee every morning was a wonderful way to start the day. Nyoman the regular driver was booked due to our last minute planning so he gave us his friend Putu's contact for a driver. Upon leaving I briefly met Nyoman and he is so great, I can see why he has so many great reviews. But I must say we were so happy with Putu! He was so courteous, happy and fun to be around. We always felt comfortable with him and trusted him. He helped us with booking excursions and showed us the good places to go. He picked us up early morning or late from Ubud, he was extremely accommodating. We also booked him for 2 days where we checked out the temples, waterfalls, and other attractions. Last but certainly not least is Kadek. She is absolutely amazing and we were so sad to have to say goodbye. My daughter refers to her as "My Kadek". Upon our arrival she helped us with any questions we had and made sure to tell us about everything we needed to know for our stay. Any further questions or concerns we had she was immediate on her responses and quick to help in any way. She watched our 2 year old daughter for two nights. When Kadek showed up to babysit it was as if my daughter didn't even care we were around. She was fabulous with our daughter and it was so cute seeing their bond. Kadek is amazing with children. We asked her to bring her young daughter over as well and the girls played and had a blast together. We will always think back to Ubud with such great memories largely due to our amazing stay here. I urge anyone to stay here if it is available.

Beautiful and stylish villa! 10 min moped ride to the center of Ubud, amazing host with great breakfast. Only con is that we came in November where the rice fields aren’t as pictured & the villas were quite close to each other. Other than that everything else was amazing!

The property is extremely well designed. The paddy fields in the front adds untold beauty. A very serene and quiet place for a peaceful stay. Kadek the manager is most helpful. There a number of restaurants which supply food to the villa. Nyoman the driver is reliable and very helpful. The swimming pool is quite big. Overall the villa is total value for money. I recommend the villa for those looking for a tranquil holiday in Ubud.

After a day of excursions is busy Ubud, this villa was a heavenly space to unwind at the end of the day. I only wish I had booked a longer stay to enjoy the peace and tranquillity it offers for a further couple of days - and only a few minutes drive from the centre if ubud (without trafic). Kadek and Wayan are amazing and Nyoman is lovely! There is even a local mobile phone provided for guests in case they need to contact anyone (hosts, drivers etc) which is such a thoughtful touch! Would definately visit again!

The house is perfect located just out-site the center of Ubud. On walking distance. Not in the center of Ubud were it's to noisy and crowded, not the place to be. This spot is exact right. "River Moon" is really beautiful, lying on a rice field with great view. Het house is very practical designed in a open structure. We loved the Dutch design. The hospitality and height service level from Indonesia is well known. But here it has an extra, it feels sincerely. Staying in "River Moon" is real relaxing. If you want to undertake something, please rent a scooter. It's real fun and in Ubud area you in the center of Bali. Don't rent a car at the airport, but ask Norman the driver to get you from the airport. The best way to go on the Island, is by scooter. We loved or stay and are thankful to the staff who gave us a wonderful time. Thanks Thea & Dirk

Amazing villa surrounded by beautiful rice fields. Not only has the architect done an incredible job at designing a space that feels both comfy and open to the exterior, but it is perfectly decorated and very well taken care off. Everything was super clean, and staff came to clean up and keep the villa in good shape everyday. The beds were very comfortable and the two bathrooms were lovely. The villa manager was a wonderful lady, helping us with dealing swiftly with random odds and ends. The recommendations we were given for restaurants and activities were all very good, especially the cooking classes led by Wayan Suriani. On this point, the villa’s kitchen had everything you could ever need: a blender, countless pans and pots, etc. Also, the breakfast provided every morning was very tasty and quite filling. The only negative point would be that the villa is quite away from center Ubud. Getting a taxi/grab can be a pain, and with the local traffic every kilometer counts. This is however the price to pay to be in such a quiet and beautiful place. All in all, I would highly recommend staying here, this is a wonderful place with incredibly good service.

Great place, just over 1 KM from Ubud by foot and a good 40 minutes to the city center and markets. The staff will make you feel welcomed and were one of the highlights for us. Be aware that the night life here is not a club scene but the wild life, mainly frogs and gekos are quite active. Order in, it is quite the treat and truly a home cooked and local meal. What else is there to say, any trip out our stay in comfort is there for the asking but please be considerate as the Balenese find it difficult to say no. Loved it, recommend it and hipe to re-visit it.

We loved it here! The place is gorgeous, and felt very cozy. Kadek (the housekeeper) and her assistant tended to all of our needs. The breakfast and banana pancakes were delicious. We had some extra frog and lizard guests, but that was to be expected. Thanks Anna and Stephen!

Maison merveilleuse et accueillante. Le personnel est très attentionné et à notre écoute. A savoir que la piscine ne fait pas partie de la maison, celle-ci se trouve à 50 mètres et il y a le matin, le passage du personnel des différentes maisons. Bien que très discrets ils sont néanmoins très présents. Stéphen a été tout le temps à notre écoute, et je l'en remercie.

We all had a great time. The villas are superb and so gorgeous! No televisions but its all right - a totally chill place for relaxing and doing nothing. We ordered dine in dinner one night - chef Wayan suriani's dinner was one of the highlights of the trip! V v delicious. The design of the resort is just marvellous, even though its more than 10 years old, the place still looks amazing. The breakfast was another wonderful touch - we enjoyed the delicious breakfast prepared each morning by the very friendly and warm stafff. The villa is around 15 mins away from ubud Town centre. There is a morning market 15 minutes away by walking. The design of the villas are really special. Met the designer who lived in the villa next door. Overall a great experience. Anna was also super responsive and helpful.

Tolle Villa! Etwas ab vom Schuss und ein Anstrich würde Ihr gut tun. Sonst wunderbar:) Villa ist wie Abgebildet. Das Wasser am Brunnen und im Teich ist etwas tümpelig und rechts ums Haus herum lag etwas Müll. Dennoch für 2-4 Tage empfehlenswert.

Every bit as amazing as advertised. The pictures sell the villa but being there is even more amazing. By far the best airbnb experience we’ve ever had. Our little family loved our stay here. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We will certainly be back as soon as we can... After spending a few nights in ubud centre we had no need to go back into town so this villa was ideal for maximum relaxation.

I almost cried leaving River Moon yesterday. It’s such a wonderful space and the staff made our stay so easy and enjoyable. The villa itself is impeccable and architecturally offers so many gorgeous aspects to view and enjoy the building, surrounding nature and light. The indoor/outdoor bathrooms are a dream and the pool is like swimming in a gated jungle garden. We had to drag ourselves away to do tourist things! It’s a super easy trip in and out of Ubud with lovely driver Nyoman (or just grabbing a taxi in town) and we even walked in to town a few times across a lovely track through the rice paddies in early morning and just before sunset. Peaceful, minimal, restoring. This is the perfect way to experience Ubud.

Virkelig en skøn bolig som vi klart anbefaler. Husets manager Kadek er en perle og hun gjorde vores ophold til noget ganske særligt. Hendes morgenmad var skøn - specielt kaffen og banan pandekager savner vi efter vores hjemkomst :-) Kadek var super sød til at hjælpe med alt vi havde behov for incl at fixe transport da den vi skulle ha haft ikke lykkes. Vi brugtes hendes mand som var den bedste driver ever og vi brugte ham til alle turene incl heldagsture i og omkring Ubud. Villaen ligger 10 km fra Ubud så der er behov for taxa hver vej hvilket ikke er noget issue men man skal lige planlægge dagen så man ikke bruger for meget tid på transporten. Der er en fælles pool med de andre villaer men vi så aldrig nogen bruge den ud over os. Poolen er Ok størrelse men kunne måske godt bruge at blive overfalde renset hver dag. Alt i alt en skøn villa som vi virkelig anbefaler bla. på grund af stedets manager Kadek.

Beautiful villa in stunning setting, well-maintained and with great staff. Perfect for relaxation. Lovely saltwater pool in the common area shared with other villas. This is a peaceful retreat from the hubbub of "downtown" Ubud, for which some form of transport needs to be arranged to get to and around the Ubud area. Kitchen is well-equipped - there are moka pots so bring your own ground coffee if you are into that. Lots of food can be ordered for delivery from local restaurants. Great selection of interesting books if you're into reading. Probably the most important thing to know, and to set the right expectations, is that this is outdoor-style, open-air living for the most part -- our daughter loved seeing all the various insects and other creatures in this setting, and there were some mosquitoes that we minimized by applying insect repellant.

We loved tour stay at Anna's place! Everything went well and can't complain about anything. One of the things we liked the most about the place is that compared to other villas, Anna'a place has a great view and you will feel secluded from sometimes busy Ubud. Hope we will be back!

We are in love with our Villa. It’s beautiful well manintained with lush view and great friendly staff. It’s a highlight of our Ubud experience. We greatly enjoyed our 3 nights in the villa. We found it very relaxing to be a little outside of the city but close enough to visit various local and cultural sites around Ubud. The scenery is fantastic as the rice fields come right up to the house. Our two children (4 and 2 years old) loved the villa and the pool. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and we would certainly recommend staying here.

Moon River is a beautiful house and the setting is fantastic! We stayed here for 6 nights with our 2 children - ages 4 and 2 - and really enjoyed our stay. My daughter stayed in a baby cot that the villa provided and my son slept in the main bed in one of the rooms. An older kid could certainly sleep on the daybed in this room and 2 kids could share a bed. Only one bedroom is air conditioned, which is nice to have, but the breezes are so nice you don’t really miss it in the other. Plus there are fans. The outdoor indoor spaces are lovely but are also hard to manage when it rains a lot (we had quite a bit of rain during our stay) because of the bugs. The house is really a part of nature. The kids loved the koi pond in our villa and the communal pool was lovely. There was never anyone in the pool during our stay in fact! One of the best parts of the house is having Kadek come make breakfast every day. She also babysat - and my very particular 2 year old daughter loved her to pieces! The kids also loved Nyoman, the driver. I would recommend using him for airport runs and a day trip if you have the time. Make sure to set your transport up ahead of time. I can’t stress this enough. The house is not so far off the main road that you can’t walk, but it is too far from the main town to really get anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. Especially if you have kids. All in all I would definitely recommend this house to anyone that loves beautiful spaces, beautiful settings, lovely people and doesn’t mind being one with nature a bit.

This is a really amazing escape in Ubud and easily can get around to wherever you need. The staff are phenomenal and so helpful. The outdoor hut is great to sit and read while looking over a serene paddy field which is what we wanted. Well worth the money and everything included breakfast made us very happy.

My stay at Anna’s villa was wonderful. The villa itself is as posted on the site, gorgeous with amazing rice field view. I felt really safe because the 3 security guards were there nightly with a guard dog so coming back to the villa felt safe. The housekeeper Kadek is a super sweet lady and has a lot of information if you need anything she was very prompt with communication. The villa is a distance to places like the Ubud Market or Monkey forest so it is best to have a driver or your own moped to get around. I wouldn’t advise walking since there isn’t really any sidewalk. Overall the stay was great. The outdoor tub was awesome to just relax in. I appreciate the added AC in one of the rooms!! I would recommend this villa if you want to peace and quiet.

Kadek was an fantastic host, she went above and beyond. Her and another man cook breakfast each morning and clean the villa. Kadek has fantastic English (probably the best we saw in Bali.) she is a wealth of info about the Hindu culture, and recommendations for things to do. Kadek loves a chat, her and my wife would talk for over 1 hour most mornings which my wife loved. (She complains I don't talk enough so it helped me out heaps.) We didn't realise prior to checking in that there were major construction works going on in the villa next door. This was off putting as they were using a grinder all through the day and was difficult to take in the whole in the middle of no where experience. We didn't spend lots of time in the day at the villa but if you were reading a book at 10am it would be difficult to do. I would book this villa again if we could get the same price. River Moon villa and surrounds were just beautiful. I didn't want to leave and loved just relaxing here and soaking up the stunning views. The staff were lovely - friendly yet discreet and always available to offer advice or help. Loved the pool! Unfortunately the villa next door is undergoing some renovations so there was some building noise from early in the morning but this is no one's fault and I just ignored it. It is a very special place and I won't hesitate to recommend a stay here to friends and family. Thank you, hopefully I will be back for another visit!

너무좋았어요 세살아기랑 갔는데 말을 알아듣는 나이라서 통제가 가능했지만 그 이하는 숙소에 연못이나 위험요소가있어서 힘들것같아요 아침마다 챙겨주는 조식도 맛있었고 야외거실에 누워서 논을 볼때 너무행복했어요 에어컨은 방하나에만있지만 덥지않아서 괜찮았어요 벌레는 정말많지만 물리진않았어요 집 자체가 완전 사랑스러워요 수영장은 공용이지만 3일동안 우리가족만 이용했어요~~

Anna's place is lovely and everything you could ever expect and more! Her home is open to nature and rice fields but also enclosed where it needs to be (bedrooms/kitchen). I loved looking out to the rice fields in the morning! I would come back to Anna's place anytime! We also enjoyed having Nyoman (the driver) take us around. He was great!

Wunderschöne Villa etwas südlich von Ubud. 2 Schlafzimmer und ein wunderschöner grosser halboffener Wohnbereich. Toller Blick auf die Reisfelder mit herrlicher Natur-Geräuschkulisse in der Nacht. Seht stylischer Pool in der Gemeinschaftsanlage. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Une villa au calme, et en même temps très proche des restaurants et des boutiques d'Ubud, à peine 10 min en voiture. Les massages commandes sur place sont top, bien meilleur marché que dans les spas du centre et on reste sur place, ce qui est très appréciable. Nos enfants 8 et 12 ans ont beaucoup apprécié. Nous avons commandé un diner le premier soir, servi à domicile, tout était parfait. Les pancakes à la banane des petits déjeuners sont juste excellents. Très belle piscine. Le manager de la villa, Kadek, est au petits soins. Bref, une très belle adresse à Ubud.

The house and its staff are both wonderfull. The compound is peacefully situated between the ricefields. We travelled with two boys of 9 and 10 and travelled to Ubud by taxi. You could also rent a motorbike to be more flexible. Beautifull pool, best view from your bedroom ever. I recommend this place highly and would definately come back.

Anna and Stephen's place in Ubud is magical. Situated next to the beautiful rice fields, the view and the scenery makes for a gorgeous stay if you're wanting to avoid the hustle and bustle of central Ubud. Kadek and Wayan (the staff) are incredible; they made us feel so welcome by cooking us a wonderful breakfast (have the banana pancakes), and helped us organise everything we needed to make our few days here extra special. The house itself is decorated so beautifully you'll never want to leave. Stephen was always quick and efficient when responding to emails, and handled our booking and queries wonderfully. Thank you for a fabulous few days - we can't wait to visit River Moon again!

Great villa! Luxurious, quiet and loveliest staff we could ever imagine! A bit outside of Ubud, but that was no problem. Really recomend this villa for a pleasant stay!

beautiful villa- pool is shared with a few others but we never saw anyone else there. House staff are great, view is nice. Recommend but you will need to taxi into Ubud daily. We walked a few times and it takes about an hour. But the villa is so nice many we often chose to just stay there.

This villa is a total gem! Stephen was great to work with to help us coordinate transportation from Uluwatu to the villa, and also helped us book an AMAZING in-villa cooking class with Wayan. We had massages in the villa each day and loved waking up to the peaceful sounds of wildlife in the rice paddies right outside the villa doors. An absolutely wonderful trip and we're already thinking about when we can make another trip back!

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at River Moon Villa! So close to central Ubud and yet far from noise and traffic. The staff made our visit extremely pleasant and communication was easy. Kadek was a gem, and we so enjoyed her company and assistance! Everyone was very friendly and we felt relaxed and safe. The communal pool was quite relaxing and lovely with hardly anyone using it. We would definitely recommend this villa and look forward to a return visit!

Eine Perle mitten im Reisfeld! Wir waren absolut begeistert von dieser wunderschönen Villa in mitten der Reisfelder. Die Bilder entsprechen der Wirklichkeit. Sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, es fehlt an nichts. Frühstück wurde jeden Tag von der liebenswerten Haushälterin zu bereitet. Ein Scooter stand vor Ort zur Verfügung (kostenpflichtig). Gutes Wifi und ein sehr schöner Gemeinschaftspool vorhanden. Meine Freundin und ich wohnten 4 Tage in diesem Traumhaus und wir fanden Ruhe und Entspannung, einfach toll. Unbedingt weiter zu empfehlen! Top!!!

such a beautiful villa with incredible views. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - made all the more wonderful with Kadek looking after us so well. highlights: amazing villa that was beautifully furnished - falling asleep listening to water and frogs - waking up to amazing, lush rice paddy views. Amazing breakfasts cooked by Kadek and Wayan - so incredibly lovely and accommodating. We used the local village taxi (organized via Kadek) - itvwas very reasonably priced and the drivers were very friendly - we never waited more than 10mins for a ride into central ubud. Also highly recommend having Wayan Suriani (a local woman) come and cook a meal for you in the villa - incredibly delicious and very reasonably priced. We also found that most cafes in Ubud delivered to us for a very small fee - this was handy as we had 2 x 3yr olds in tow... Thank you for an amazing stay - we can't wait to come back. This place is absolutely as advertised and better. Beautiful place, beautiful people (Kadek and Nyoman) that feel like your family after only a few days' time. This stay was that perfect balance of comfort without resort excess, authentic experience with as much opportunity for connectivity with the local community as you want to pursue. 1) Cleanliness: daily housekeeping, place is in impeccable and like-new shape. Yes, you see a lot of geckos and other lizards running around, but if felt like exposure to nature, not being intruded by it. And afterall, if you're staying on a rice paddy, that's part of the allure! 2) Location: travel needs to be arranged in and out of Ubud, and if you want to go somewhere early, book day before (we missed a 730a yoga class because we didn't to arrange transpo day before, and no taxis when called morning would drive us). Other than that, location is a beauty. Close to Ubud (5-10 min drive) and your surroundings are just beautiful - the rice paddy view is really special, and overall the grounds are beautiful. 3) Communication: the people made this trip. Kadek, Nyoman, Stephen made communication, arrival, and all other logistics a breeze. We relied on Kadek for referrals (eg cooking class in villa) and all suggestions were great (consider an in villa cooking class with Wayan - so fun). Amazing time at an amazing place with a very high end feel!

Perfect location, not overcrowded...Bali pure

Min hustru, vores datter (9 måneder) og jeg boede i villaen i en uge i februar. Det er et af de mest unikke steder vi har boet, lige ud til rismarker og i idylliske omgivelse - tæt, meget tæt, på naturen. Lækker villa med gode faciliteter og meget venligt og imødekommende personale. Et par få observationer: (1) Ligger 5-10 min ude for Ubud og man kan ikke gå til byen (2) Villaen er ikke optimal med en baby der kravler ;-). Samlet set kan vi varmt anbefale at booke villaen.

This place is truly a little piece in paradise. It's exactly like the pictures but when you arrive it's the small touches that instantly make this place feel like home the fresh flowers on your pillows, a giant coconut greeting you when arrive and of course the trickling water feature instantly relaxes you. The only thing I would have to say was a surprise was that there was only air conditioning in one of the bedrooms. Besides that the accommodation is gorgeous but what really truly made our stay here so incredible was the kindness of Kadek. She really is beautiful inside and out she made us a delicious breakfast each and every morning and booked all of our ubud adventures. She is so hard working and a genuinely happy person it almost feels as though we were the lucky ones to get to spend time with her. Wayan was also very friendly and quiet he left our accommodation clean and spotless folding up spare clothes tucking in our bed sheets and turning down our mosquito nets. Kadek booked many trips for us with car pickup and drop off the companies even give her a discount for all the experiences. We went white water rafting, mountain biking, we went hiking up the volcano at sunrise and she rented us scooters for our entire trip to get around. Our favourite experience was when Kadek booked us a cooking class with Wayan a local chef. She came to the villa and cooked with us we learned 6 different Indonesia dishes which were all incredible. Our time here had a perfect amount of serenity and adventure. We would all come back here in a heartbeat.

Everything about our familiy's stay was amazing. The villa is beautiful, in a wonderful location, adjacent to the rice fields. They were harvesting right up to the doorstep which was such a treat to see. We enjoyed being outside of town and easily had scooters and the occasional taxi arranged. We also loved nick, who Anna had pick us up at the airport. I highly recommend this beautiful villa!

We had a wonderful stay at River Moon. The scenery is beautiful and the villa itself exceeded our expectations. It is very clean and aesthetically well designed. It was lovely to wake up in the morning to such a beautiful view. The villa staff are also incredible! Kadek, Wayan and Nyoman are just lovely and will do whatever they can to make your stay perfect. We really enjoyed our conversations with Kadek over breakfast and learned a lot about Balinese life and culture. Kadek even babysat our 4 year old daughter so my partner and I could go out for dinner one night. She really is an enormous asset to the villa. The villa itself is a 5 minute drive to Ubud but we mostly ordered takeaway for meals so that we could enjoy the villa as much as possible. I would highly recommend Wayan Suriani to prepare a meal for you as her food is amazing! The communal villa pool is lovely, however another villa was doing some construction during our stay which made that area noisy. So we couldn't enjoy it as much as we would have liked. One thing that I will mention is that if insects and creepy crawlies are not your thing, this isn't the villa for you! Being on the edge of a rice field means that you will encounter lots of wildlife and the villa is an "open air" concept and only the master bedroom has air-con. We also had a day without power and water (not the villa's fault) which meant that we were quite hot and uncomfortable. I don't necessarily think that the villa is well equipped for very young children but my daughter enjoyed her stay nonetheless. My advice for travellers with young children would be to bring activities for them if you plan on spending a lot of time at the villa. I only mention these things as a consideration prior to booking. Overall we would definitely recommend River Moon to others and hope that we can return in future!

We had a wonderful stay, surrounded by rice paddies it was scenic & relaxing. A tad far from town but there was always a driver handy to give you a ride. Highly recommend.

River Moon was simply a slice of heaven. Arrival was organised from the airport (we arrived late in the evening) Nyoman was waiting for us with a smile to drive us up to Ubud. The villa itself is in impeccable condition. The space and styling is very well thought out. Every small detail has been thought of to ensure a pleasant worry free stay. We were very impressed. The scenery is picturesque and each strategic area of seating offers unique viewing perspectives of the rice paddies and beyond. If you wanted to, you could stay here and not leave for an entire day.. You can even order dinner from local restaurants an have them deliver right to you. Kadek and Wayan made us a lovely breakfast each morning and were so kind and patient, giving us helpful tips and advice for exploring the area. Such genuine wonderful people. Kadek organised a scooter for us (Ubud centre is a very short scooter ride away). Honestly, I have been coming to bali for years now, this was my 8th visit. Our stay at River Moon was one of the best vists yet. We will be returning again soon to this little peice of paradise. Thank you to Stephen for hosting.

We had a fantastic stay at River Moon villa. The house is beautiful and well looked after by lovely Kader and Wayang, who looked after us and made us feel at home. The driver is also at hand and everything almost magically happens for you, making our stay very nice indeed. The views over the rice fields were awesome and very relaxing, and Stephen was super communicative in setting everything up. We'll be back! :D

Von der ersten Minute an fühlten wir uns wie im Paradies. Wir wurden herzlich Empfangen, morgens gut bekocht, wir konnten alle Wünsche äußern und sie wurden erfüllt. Täglich wurde das Haus gereinigt und sauber gehalten. W-Lan funktionierte auch perfekt (Reise mit 2 pubertierenden Kinder) Das Haus ist einfach traumhaft! Vielen Dank!

Our stay in the River moon house was really great. Actually I have nothing but compliments.The kids loved it, and they were very happy with the public swimming pool, large and clean.The staf people were caring and very kind, and the breakfast was really good! Everything about this villa is a dream! The fantastic set up, the amazing people, the beautiful furniture. The place is immaculate and so peaceful with a dream view of the rice field. We cannot recommend it more. Wayan and Kadek will take such good care of you, you won't want to leave!

As a family of four we loved our stay at River Moon. The villa is so inviting as soon as you step in where you experience indoor - outdoor living in style and peace. The beds were super comfy and the staff friendly, polite, helpful providing great service. The little extras counted: receiving a coconut water on arrival and fridge filled with eggs, milk, selection of fresh fruit and vegetables plus more. We all looked forward to our freshly cooked daily breakfasts as part of the cost. The public pool was terrific, a great length, temperature and with sun lounges to relax in. I highly recommend River Moon to anyone who wants an escape from the hustle and bustle of a busy life or city. We would certainly come back again.

The host made us feel right at home. Kadek was a great manager and cooked us breakfast each morning with Wayman. I loved the layout and furnishings in this villa. The light was just amazing and would go back in the future. A scooter rental is recommended to explore Ubud and getting back and forth from town to River Moon (Villa we rented)

Amazing home in an awesome setting. Absolutely beautifully designed that is also very well maintained. Stephen was great at communicating in advance of our stay. Kadek and the rest of the staff were all wonderful. The only problem we had was that it was rather warm and the communal pool was under repair a couple of days during our stay. This and a lack of air conditioning made it pretty hard to cool off, even in the evening. Overall we would highly recommend this home for anyone staying in Ubud.

We had a fantastic stay at the River Moon Villa. As Baudelaire wrote in his poem "invitation to the voyage": all is order and beauty, luxury, peace, and pleasure. The villa is magnificent overlooking the rice paddies; nicely decorated, every piece of furniture is arranged tastefully. At dust, only the sound of frogs can be heard. Nyoman the driver picked the four of us up at the airport. His big smile set the tone for an unparalleled journey away from Denpasar and outside bustling Ubud. We were welcomed by Kadik the manager, the nicest woman on earth whose multiple talents we greatly appreciated throughout our stay. She came every morning to cook delicious breakfast for us (including some of the best coffee I've had in a long time). She arranged scooter rental so we could ride to Tegalagang rice terraces and Mount Batur on a perfect blue sky day. I would also like to mention and thank the local Balinese woman who cooked us a wonderful dinner the first night, and I strongly recommend her cuisine. A big thank you to the team for this unforgettable and authentic experience.

This place is fantastic. The house is beautiful and the staff were helpful and friendly. Nick was available when we had questions and Kadek (housekeeper) was super friendly, we chatted with her during breakfast every day. Depending on the stage in the growth cycle, the rice fields will look different (flooded, starting to grow, or full fields of green like in the pictures). All pretty, just something to be aware of. If you're a nature lover this place is great - we saw tiny frogs, lots of geckos, a few monitor lizards, herons, bats, etc. We didn't find any of them to be intrusive or annoying (nor were there too many bugs). I don't remember it being a focus of the listing but the outdoor hut over the tiny koi pond is great. Great place to relax or read a book (or yoga). Renting a scooter was a great way to get around and can be done right from the property. Overall, this is one of the best places I've ever stayed. You can certainly find cheaper places in the Ubud, but this place has really incredible design, a cool view of the rice paddies, and great staff willing to help with whatever you're looking to do.

We had an awesome stay. The villa is fantastic and we were slightly relived that it rained on a couple of days, purely so we could enjoy it! The staff were amazing and really went out of their way to help us, be it food wise, transport wise or just general info about the area! The pool was perfect and despite it being a shared pool we had it to ourselves three days out of four!

I spent 4 days in river moon with my family, it is a very beautiful villa, well designed and equipped, the driver and cleaner are very nice and helpful, but should take car to ubud city, near 15 mins. Overall It's very good experience in Bali, thanks to Kate and her team.

FABULOUS stay at River Moon! Thank you to Anna, Kate, Kadek, Nik and Kadek's husband (also Kadek) who drove us everywhere (excellent driver). From Seattle, USA, my husband and I spent a long weekend with our daughter and her husband from Singapore. Kadek met us at the airport, and his wife greeted us and took care of us at River Moon...cooking wonderful breakfasts each morning (banana crepes, fruit, eggs and great coffee) and turning down our beds each night. She is a gem: wonderfully warm, hospitable and open...we learned a lot about the Balinese culture and customs and talked about a wide range of topics (her English is very good)...very special. The villa is exquisitely designed and architecturally stunning with open air bathrooms, water and a gurgling fountain...lovely, peaceful, situated in the middle of rice fields and only a 10-minute drive from bustling Ubud. Coming home was always a treat, and the swimming pool was great. On our last evening we stayed "home" and enjoyed a delicious, traditional Balinese meal prepared by a local caterer, Wayan Suriani (Kadek has information). All in all, a terrific experience: lovely, lovely people and a beautiful villa!

Kate and the entire team at River Moon made our stay so memorable! The villa is beautifully decorated and very well maintained. It is really peaceful and allows guests to truly connect with the spirit of Bali. We had the most amazing local meals cooked by Wayan Suriani - I've declared her to be the best Indonesian cook in Bali! There was a lovely collection of books in the villa - and I'm really happy that there was no TV in the villa. Nyoman (driver) guided us around Ubud for 2 days and planned the most perfect itinerary.

...WOW! Für mehr als 2Wochen durften wir uns in der River Moon Villa zu Hause fühlen. Aus dem stressigen Arbeitsalltag in Desa Bulan angekommen, war es wie im Traum. Perfektion in so hohem Maße, dass es am Rande der Realität sich bewegt, so schön ist es. Somit fiel jeglichem Alltagsstress schon beim Eintreten von uns ab. Tiefenentspannung und Vergessen von Zeit und Raum war die Folge...;) Das Desa Bulan-Team war unfassbar herzlich und überaus hilfsbereit. Egal was wir brauchten -Motorroller, Wäsche waschen, um die Insel fahren, Massage, Tipps zum Insel erkunden- alles und jeder war mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Kadek, die uns jeden Morgen Frühstück gemacht hat, ist ein Schatz und kann unfassbar tolles Rührei zubereiten! Ganz geschweige von den Bananenpfannkuchen! Bereitwillig beantwortete sie unsere viele Fragen über Ihre Kultur und Ihre Tradition, wodurch wir einen tollen Einblick in die Fremde bekommen durften. Wer .... Entspannung, Ruhe, Sorglosigkeit, Freundlichkeit, Natürlichkeit, Leichtigkeit, Zufriedenheit, Reinheit, Gemütlich, Erholung, Anmut, Lebensfreude, Friede oder Ursprünglichkeit sucht und somit ein Stück Bali finden möchte wird es vermutlich hier entdecken. Wir habe es auf jeden Fall in der River Moon Villa gefunden! Es war für uns einfach ein „Willkommen Zuhause“ auf der anderen Seite der Welt!

Where do I start? I trawled through endless villas and had plenty of choice, but Kate's superb interior style and the peaceful nature conveyed in the pics won me over and I couldn't be happier I chose River Moon Villa. It matched the pictures and more! In fact, I wanted to stay on for my second week and when I found out someone else had just booked I actually cried! What a glorious ambience - utterly peaceful yet still not too far from all the activities in Ubud. Although I confess I just got takeaway a lot of the time - it was too nice to leave! Every time I returned it felt like arriving home. I left the curtains open at night and it was pure joy to sit up in bed, watching the sun rise over the rice paddies and hearing the natural world stirring to life. I could hear gamelan music wafting through the air on my last day. I have worked non stop recently and this glorious space was the ideal antidote. Nik and Kadek looked after me like I was a Queen, delicious fresh breakfasts, everything organised with a smile. Kate was exemplary in her handling of requests and questions. Look no further, people, book NOW (except when I want to return!).

Firstly, I'd like to thank the staff at River Moon Villa. Our time there with our family was perfection!! This was without question the most relaxing holiday our family have experienced, and the first time everyone's needs have been thought of. Kadek, the wonderful Balinese nanny made this holiday a dream for our family. The kids LOVED spending time with her and even visited her family compound. Kadek speaks great English and has a playful energy about her that meant us "grown-ups" could really relax without worrying about the kids all the time. Nik the Manager arranged a local Balinese cook Wayan to bring in meals so we didn't need to leave the villa unless we chose to. The meals were delicious and the prices were so reasonable that we just stayed home most nights and enjoyed the villa. Ordering meals from local restaurants was easy and River Moon has a mobile phone and menu's so you can order what you like, when you like. No cooking needed!! Kadek minded the kids whenever we wanted so we could go shopping or have a meal out alone without the kids. Masseurs also came to the Villa anytime we liked. River Moon Villa is simply a magical place to have a family holiday experience !! Thanks so much Kadek, Nik and all the River Moon staff. We LOVE you and will be back soon! OMG, this place is for real! This listing is amazing and Kate is an amazing host. I can't recommend this home more! Its clean, safe, quiet, with amazing design, comfortable beds, and tucked away in a great community of people and homes. If you have the opportunity to travel to Bali, stay at Kate's home, its heaven!
