Exploring Secluded Escape for a Couple with Panoramic Views left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.

The virtual preview of Secluded Escape for a Couple with Panoramic Views was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Ubud Gianyar plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.

I found the tour for Secluded Escape for a Couple with Panoramic Views painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.

Та саме страшне - це шум від дороги! Він дууже сильний !!! Такий, що не можеш спати! Господар та персонал вілли чудові, лиш їм я б поставила високий бал! Але сама вілла для мене принесла лиш неприємні враження (

Communication with Atsu and Wendy prior to arriving was easy and they were attentive. The Villa itself is beautiful, and the location is wonderful. It's only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Ubud and Ubud is a great location to do sight seeing tours in nearby villages. There is definitely some road noise, and can get loud but for the most part didn't bother us and we were able to sleep fine. We did have check in issues, and airport pickup was not arranged after having it confirmed. This was accommodated but the hosts though via money back and complimentary massage. While the Villa offers a lot of amenities, it was difficult to actually get them. If you want lunch or food or alcohol, you must tell them the day prior, as we were not able to request those the day of. I also tried to set up a chakra healing class for the following day, but no one showed up to the Villa. When I asked the staff what happened, they said there was a mix up and that for the healing session I needed to go to the person's house, and that they only did chakra yoga studio the Villa. I'm not sure why this was not clarified the day before when I scheduled it.

Logement très beau avec une vue incroyable, on se sent vraiment en pleine jungle sans pour autant être loin de la ville. La maison est entièrement ouverte : il n’y a pas de clim (seulement des ventilateurs), ce qui rend l’espace chaud et surtout très humide. Cela se ressent aussi sur le linge et la literie. La présence d’animaux et les bruits environnants font aussi partie de l’expérience. À noter qu’en comparaison aux photos affichées, il n’y a aujourd’hui plus qu’une baignoire, celle à l’étage donnant sur la jungle (cela n’enlève rien au charme du lieu). Les rideaux ne sont pas occultants, pensez donc à prendre un sleep mask si vous ne souhaitez pas être réveillés au lever du soleil. L’accès peut être un peu compliqué (chemin à l’écart de 2–3 min à pied, chiens à l’entrée et chauffeurs parfois réticents). Dans l’ensemble, ce fut une expérience dépaysante qui nous a permis de vraiment sortir du quotidien. La piscine est très agréable et le personnel est très (trop?) au petit soin.

The villa is stunning and what you see on the photos is really what you get, including the delightful infinity pool immersed in the nature ! The villa staff were amazing, very helpful and kind. The communication with Atsu & Wendy was seamless throughout the whole booking. However, it is important to note that the villa is not baby-friendly, the stairs are very steep and there are several steps around the villa. The open air style also comes with some downsides: outdoor noises (busy road ; music) and significant variation of temperature/humidity at night. Thank you Atsu & Wendy and all the staffs for having us in beautiful Shamballa!!

The staff were wonderful! The villa is as pictured, feels secluded and the view is lovely and one might want to be aware that it is located off a busy road. If familiar with Bali traffic and riding a scooter then no problem.

Villa Shamballa is a wonderful, private 1 bedroom villa in a nice area of Ubud. The villa staff are very kind and attentive. They're always around if you need help or would like to order something from the villa menu (like the plenty of cheap bintangs I ordered.. :)) The complimentary breakfast and turn down service is a really great addition. It's a bit difficult to get to so I recommend getting your driver to drop you off at the 'e2c' cafe then walking down the driveway across the road. There is some road noise as it's a hilly area and you can hear the scooters revving up the road - it can be distracting sometimes and if you are a light sleeper it may wake you in the night. It didn't effect me too much. Overall, nice place and I would recommend if you don't mind some noise.

A beautiful villa with the friendliest staff! The breakfasts were great and the massages were very good too. Expect to be at one with nature as you are in the jungle. The driver Wayan is an amazing person who made our trip very memorable.

Dear Atsu and Wendy, thx for the hosting and nice house in jungle - unfortunately we had sleepless nights because of the traffic from the other side of the street and also because of the night temperature without having A/C. The last day and night we could not use the wifi - actually but we haven’t had a problem with that. The cushion were dirty and the blankets from the bed too. But at the end your staff was brilliant and very very careful in a positive way. Thanks to to the crew for taking care of us.

Супер вежливый персонал. Интерьер выше всяких похвал. Все продуманно и выдержано в едином стиле. Нет окон, просыпаешься с солнцем, пением птиц и кваканьем лягушек )). Так как вилла для пары (одна кровать и 3 ванных комнаты), выходит довольно дорого. Завтрак скудноват за такую цену. Рядом дорога и было довольно шумно, в том числе ночью. И шла стройка рядом. Wi-Fi практически не работал.

The villa has a lovely luxurious feel, ideal for a couple who want a really relaxing holiday. It's quite spacious & in the downstairs lounge were two large comfy sofas with bolsters & pillows. The large upstairs bedroom has a very comfortable bed, & a good sized bathroom. When you've had a dip in the large infinity pool, there's a outdoor bathroom with plenty of fluffy towels. I particularly enjoyed floating in the pool watching squirrels running up and down and jumping from tree to tree in the jungle beyond the garden area. The breakfasts are amazing, but you can't beat the banana or pineapple pancakes. The staff arranged a wonderful one hour massage in the villa, followed by a delightful flower bath - excellent value and every bit as good as the spas. Every evening the mosquito coils and candles were lit for us. giving the villa a romantic feel. All the friendly staff and Wayan, the driver, looked after us so well. This was one of the best Ubud Airbnbs we have stayed in.

Simply beyond magical. Purely spiritual. Thank you so much for giving others the opportunity to enjoy this sacred treasure.

Our stay here was truly special. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed and cared for. The team went above and beyond in every way - from delicious meals, massages, yoga and tai chi, to drivers and help coordinating our days. Everything was always on time and thoughtfully arranged, and my partner’s dietary restrictions were remembered and accommodated with such care. Everyone was kind, attentive and genuinely happy to help, always offering great suggestions and making us feel comfortable and at home. And the setting itself is unforgettable-breathtaking views, lush greenery, peaceful surroundings and our own private pool. Thank you for making our time in Bali so memorable. We will remember this place, and especially the people, very fondly.

What a beautiful place to stay in during our honeymoon. The attention and warmth of the staff is something we will never forget during this new chapter in our lives. Sleeping in a semi outdoor space was very nostalgic and brought us back to our home country. We are hoping to come back to ubud and stay here in the future.

There are not enough words in the world to explain how incredible this place is. A tropical vacation that one could only dream of. And then to top it off - Iluh, Kadek, Eric, Gusti and WAYAN!!! Absolutely made our trip. The kindest people you’ve ever met. I felt like a part of the family when I left and can only dream when I will be lucky enough to come back. A truly magical stay. We stayed here three years ago and loved it so much we decided to come back for our honeymoon.

Simply put - heaven on earth. Stunned by the magnificent property, lush setting and tasteful, classically elegant furnishings. Feels ‘other worldly.’ Greeted and looked after so beautifully and attentively by Kadek, Kormang, Eric, Illu and Gusti. Thank you is not enough. We shall return.

Wat hebben we enorm genoten in deze prachtige Vila! Alles was super mooi, en Atsu en Wendy en alle anderen waren super lief voor ons. Een hele ervaring om buiten te slapen, we zagen hier een beetje tegenop omdat we in andere recensies hadden gezien dat je last hebt van de weg. Wij hebben hier helemaal geen last van gehad, je hoorde dit amper en overigens overal op Bali. Het enige wat goed is om te vermelden, is dat je niet kunt zonnen na 13 uur (begin juli). Het was fantastisch en we raden dit verblijf iedereen aan!

I honestly always forget to write a review to all the places I’ve stayed. But this villa was nothing but magic, the views, the location, how the house is set up perfect vibe. Great crew of staff 24/7 nothing but helpful and big smiles.

The villa was just stunning , we were so happy to spend our week there . Please do keep in mind that this is an open villa with no windows so it can be quite hot , also the is a road close by so you can hear some noises , we did bring the earplugs which was very helpful. Apart from that everything was excellent, we also did not realise that Villa come with concierge service which spoiled us too much , cause we did not lift a finder in this villa :))

Disfrutamos mucho quedarnos aquí, el personal fue muy amable y servicial. Nos proveyeron con todo lo que pedimos, comida, transporte y comodidades. El lugar es muy tranquilo, la piscina es muy grande e ideal para nadar y relajarse. Lo recomendamos mucho!

This villa was amazing. It’s nice, secluded, and huge. It is open concept and everything was kept well maintained. The infinity pool was gorgeous as well as the white decor in the home. The housekeepers were very attentive and answered all my questions very quickly. One of the nights I went to eat at a nearby restaurant and felt a little unsafe only because of stray dogs. I called and someone came to get me by scooter right away. The place is down a narrow road that is not well maintained so it made it somewhat hard for drivers to find and navigate. Other than that it was definitely one of the most amazing places I have stayed. Breakfast is included but other items can be purchased such as dinner or spa treatments at the villa, which I did have an opportunity to experience. The villa has no glass so bring insect repellent and the staff also will lite mosquito deterrents. I was on a solo travel trip but this place would be great for couples as well. Don’t hesitate to book

It became my life's lodging. The three nights were too short. The employees were so kind and sweet. There was no air conditioner, but it wasn't a problem. The pool villa and the second-floor accommodation were perfect. I hope I can go there again in my life...

I stayed here solo over the last week. The property is breathtaking and everything is intricately thought out, from the decor to the placement of lounge chairs and tanning beds. Waking up to the sunrise from my bed is something i will miss dearly. I will miss the waterfall shower with steaming hot water and the downstairs bathrooms making my time lounging around that much easier. But the true beauty of the property I think comes from the team of staff, thank you to Gusti, Komang, Kadek, Erik and Iluh for being incredibly welcoming, thoughtful and making sure my stay was fully catered for. I appreciate you all very much and you made all the difference to my first solo stay away from home. One thing I would say to others staying here during rainy season is to expect to be accompanied by lots of harmless geckos, butterflies, small frogs and also met a lovely cat from surrounding villas. Overall 10/10 stay. Thank you so much!

This was by far the best villa we have stayed in, in the Ubud area and we will definitely stay again if we come back to Ubud in the future. The villa itself is beautiful and incredibly spacious for 2 people. We loved the open air style and listening to the sound of nature throughout the day and found it quite soothing at night! There are a lot of frogs, geckos, lizards and other animals and insects around the villa which we loved, but if you don't like being that up close and personal with the wildlife, it probably wouldn't be the place for you! The villa team are all so lovey and friendly and there to help with anything you need. We were given a lovely breakfast each morning, and they were more than happy to accommodate a couple of requests that were not on the menu! You can also choose to have dinner at the villa too. Others have mentioned road noise but, whilst you can hear it a bit, it was certainly not offensive and blended in with the jungle sounds. We'd 100% recommend. :-)

Absolutely beautiful place, overlooking the jungle, view of the sunrise each morning. Fantastic service from the onsite team. Massages arranged, close access to Ubud (10 min taxi), and driving service that gave us access to all sights and beaches across the island. I couldn’t imagine a better place for a relaxing holiday.

We started our honeymoon here with a three night stay. Villa Shamballa is so luxurious and beautiful. We loved the open air concept and the lush scenery. Every staff member was professional and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Anything we asked for was responded to right away. We dined in one night and it was so lovely to have our own private dinner by the pool. Breakfast every morning was also great. As other reviews have said, there is quite a lot of noise from motorbikes etc and admittedly it did often take from the tranquility - however we had no issues sleeping at night as the noise significantly dies off.

Top logement situé à 10min d'ubud dans une petit bout de jungle, ce qui permet de s'éloigner de la ville et profiter de la nature luxuriante, le personnel est extrêmement gentil et attentif à chaque besoin, le logement est cosy et on y dort bien, le côté jungle va avec les animaux également ce qui n'est pas du tout déplaisant bien au contraire, petites grenouilles, geckos, papillons, libellules et même quelques lucioles aperçues dans la nuit, ce fût fort plaisant 🙂

Villa shamballa è una perla immersa nella giungla di Ubud! Villa meravigliosa, dotata di ogni confort e super rilassante, immersa nei suoni della natura! Ubud è molto caotica e trafficata ma la villa è in una posizione che la rende comunque molto silenziosa. Il personale è stato eccellente! Tutti sono stati con noi gentilissimi e disponibili alle nostre esigenze! La prima sera abbiamo anche cenato nella villa ed è stato tutto eccezionale! Colazione ottima la mattina! Davvero un posto super consigliato!! Dovete soggiornarvi!!!

Me and my husband stayed here for our second leg of our honeymoon in Bali and it really exceeded expectations, the staff were amazing! So helpful, some of the nicest people we’ve met, couldn’t do enough for us and the food was top tier! La elección de nuestra estancia en Villa Shamballa ha sido sin duda lo mejor que nos ha pasado en este viaje. Es un verdadero sueño, rodeada de una vegetación exuberante totalmente abierta al aire libre te hace sentir en la jungla pero con todo tipo de lujos. Viajamos con nuestra dos hijas, de 2 y 1 año de edad, y nos lo pusieron todo facilísimo. Proporcionaron cama auxiliar, cuna de bebé y sillitas de viaje para el coche cuando viajábamos con su chofer privado. El desayuno es excepcional. Riquísimo y súper completo. El personal es super agradable, atentos a todas horas y siempre con la mejor de las sonrisas. Son todos encantadores! Hicimos varios tours por la isla con Wayan, optamos por el masaje al atardecer y el baño de flores que fue increíble, y cada comida que nos dieron fue de 10. Verdaderamente este alojamiento es mucho más que un lugar donde hospedarse, es una auténtica experiencia por sí sola. Sin duda repetiremos!! Mil gracias por todo Atsu y Wendy! ❤️🙏🏽

This Place is indeed Heaven on Earth! What makes is Even better are the people there. Soooo Friends and 24/7 there For you, whatever you need! We even got a complimentary Honeymoon candle light dinner at the Pool and a massage which was magic! The Photos don‘t do this Place Justice.

This place is just magical. It is so beautiful, tasteful decor and feels like a slice of paradise. The staff here are outstanding and can’t do enough for you!

The villa is absolutely amazing — even more beautiful than in the photos. This was by far my best Airbnb stay! It’s an open-air villa, so you’ll sometimes spot lizards on the wall, little frogs by the pool, birds flying through, butterflies, and even fireflies in the garden at night. I loved it! The staff were attentive, friendly, and always making sure we were comfortable. In the evenings, they put out mosquito coils, and surprisingly I didn’t get a single bite (which is rare for me since mosquitos usually love me!). The layout of the villa makes it feel very private, as if you’re tucked away in the jungle. Mornings are magical! Do keep in mind there is a road nearby, so you’ll hear some noise. I expected that after reading reviews and brought earplugs — which worked perfectly. My husband slept without them and wasn’t bothered at all. Our only regret is not booking a longer stay! Honestly, I’m worried no other Airbnb will live up to this one. We will come back for sure!

We loved our stay at Shambala Villa. The place is stunning, with breathtaking views, plenty of space, and a wonderful sense of privacy. Lovely place and great staff

The villa was everything we could have asked for and more. We stayed here for our honeymoon and it exceeded expectations. The welcome was lovely with a fresh watermelon welcome drink and flower petal necklaces. The infinity pool and view is to die for. There are the loveliest staff on site at all times of the day who are happy to cook and provide drinks and cocktails. We tipped them every day, as they more than deserve it. Would love to come back! Great value for money and a really special place. Also, final shout out to Wayan who is willing to drive you wherever requested and provide tours. He is also really lovely and has great local knowledge after growing up in the village!

Quite simply the most amazing place we have stayed in. The attention to detail, the super friendly staff. Wayan our driver while we were there who drove us around. Such a romantic place. We will never forget it.

Unpretentious luxury in the middle of lush greenery which is our idea of picture perfect gateway in Ubud. We absolutely love the open air villa concept, waking up to sunrise from our bed. Of course you have the options to close the bamboo screen but we prefer not to. Our 13 years old son was happy to sleep every night downstairs with open air. There’s a night staff just outside the door to make sure that we are safe (although Ubud is safe anyway). The staff always prepare nourishing, delicious and well presented breakfast with local fresh produce. They are all very attentive, friendly, discreet, but always available when we need. Dinner is a truly taste of “home cooking” (we choose Indonesian Cuisine) with some modifications that suits our taste. We can easily recommend and would be very happy for another chance to stay again in the future. Thank you again Atsu, Wendy & all staffs of Villa Shamballa 😊

Lovely villa with open spaces. You have to love the non aircon and open space there the sound of the nature are coming close. We enjoy and will return again.

Unfassbar schöne Villa mit ruhiger, entspannter Lage direkt im Dschungel. Man kann hier super abschalten, wird von sehr netten Menschen vor Ort äußerst lieb betreut und fühlt sich einfach wie in einem Wellness Tempel. Danke für diesen tollen Aufenthalt und diese super Gastfreundschaft 🙏🏻

What an amazing Villa , It was absolutely beautiful. We had such a relaxing stay and a the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us . I would highly recommend this Villa . Wow, wow, wow! Wat was ons verblijf in Shambhalla villa een droom 🧡 Van begin tot eind zijn we ondergedompeld in een oase van rust, liefdevolle zorg met een adembenemende uitzicht. Alle leden van het personeel zijn fantastisch! Ze maakten ons verblijf onvergetelijk. We voelden ons meteen enorm welkom en echt ‘thuis’. Het eten was verrukkelijk en we besloten regelmatig lekker thuis te eten omdat het zo fijn was allemaal. De liefde van home made food, daar kan geen restaurant tegenop 😊 We gaan de villa en de lieve mensen missen. We komen met liefde weer terug. Paar tips: - het is een open villa concept dus ja, je hoort geluiden van verkeer en dieren. Dit went en tip is om de eerste nacht(en) met oordopjes te slapen. - er zijn muggen, hoewel het personeel hun uiterste best doet deze te verdrijven. Deet is wel handig om bij te hebben. - de massages met bloemenbad zijn het einde. En goed voor je jetlag 😉 - probeer de sambal. Zo lekker! Matur Suksma! 🙏🏻

It was really great, the staff were so friendly, it felt like a beautiful haven. While the villa is walkable down a beaten track, you might not feel comfortable walking it at night, and many drivers do not know where it is or how to get to it. The staff will always help with directing Gojek and Grab drivers however. The place was so big, shower pressure was great, bed was comfortable. We never found bugs in our bed, it was always clean. I thoroughly recommend this place, despite the soaring temperatures and no air conditioning, the fans that had were enough to keep us cool.

We absolutely loved our stay at Shamballa Villa. The villa itself, the staff, the nature, the food- all of it was beyond our expectations. We feel so grateful to have been able to not only have a wonderful place to stay but also insight into the island and culture of Bali from Wayan who took us to see some amazing sights. The surrounding area is filled beautiful temples and amazing restaurants as well. We look forward to the day that we get to return to this villa !

Everything about this place has been incredible—the stunning views, the super relaxing vibe, and the pool, which was an absolute lifesaver in the Bali heat! We loved the villa! It’s in the middle of nature. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and they made the best rendang we ever ate! The swimming pool is very large and the water temperature was very refreshing. We ate at the villa twice and it was better than in the restaurant we ate in Ubud. The villa is open, no windows and the bedroom is open. We liked that a lot but if you are a light sleeper and sensitive for light at the morning you should bring an eye mask. Thanks for having us!

My wife and I choose this place for our honeymoon. It was nothing short of perfect. We felt so cared for with the daily breakfasts and decided to have dinner there on two nights as the food was excellent and the surroundings were very romantic and private. Great spacious space very much as described. Staff were lovely, pool was large and awesome to cool off. Beautiful views, very atmospheric. Completely open-air which is fine temperature-wise when I stayed, but as noted by other guests there is scooter noise from the jungle road around the canyon. I was aware of it so knew what I was getting into. Lovely place overall.

The property was a fantastic escape, with beautiful valley views, ultimate privacy, and plenty of space with large lounge areas upstairs and downstairs. The pool was a standout feature, offering a refreshing way to enjoy the serene surroundings. The staff were exceptional—friendly, responsive, and always helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Atsu and Wendy also provided excellent information prior to our arrival. There were some minor drawbacks. The internet connection had weak strength in some spots and occasional dropouts, which wasn't great when working. Also, the driveway was difficult for Grab drivers to locate, often requiring us to walk to the roadway, which was inconvenient in rain or muddy conditions. Better signage would greatly improve this. Despite these minor issues, we loved our stay and highly recommend this property. We hope to visit again!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and really enjoyed our stay. This Villa was so beautiful, looks just like the pictures. Staff was very friendly, communicated well, and accommodating. There was a day that we couldn't make it to breakfast because we left early for a tour that morning so they packed us breakfast the to take with us the night before. Staff was onsite to take care any of our needs, they put mosquito repellant coils every night and provided water bottles every day. Really recommend this for any couple wanting a romantic getaway.

Words cannot even explain how breathtaking Atsu and Wendy's villa was. Beautiful, peaceful.. Astounding! I stayed here November 9-13th for my birthday. The staff was everything and more! They made me breakfast every morning, would ask if I wanted dinner for the night, and would always ask if it was okay to enter the room. Did I forget to mention that they welcomed me with welcome drinks?! The staff made me feel beyond welcomed and at home! If my time here wasn’t so limited I probably would have spent an entire week without leaving the villa. The villa looks just like the pics! Great views surrounded by the nature of jungle. There are no wild animals. Though you may spot a lizard or frog a night, it is nothing to worry. I dreaded leaving my last day. Atsu and Wendy did their thing with Villa Shamballa! HIGHLY RECOMMENDD!!!!

We do not have enough good things to say about this place! The layout of the Villa is so beautiful. Downstairs (main level) where you enter is a living room, eating area and the pool with a bathroom and then upstairs is a private bedroom oasis with a living space and master bathroom. The staff were incredible, helped us book transport and tours. Food was also soo good, breakfast was prepared every morning exactly how you request it/liked it. I would say make sure you enjoy being in nature because everything is open concept (which we loved, felt like you were sleeping in the rainforest!). There is some mild traffic noise basically all the time, but it wasn’t loud enough to bother us at any point. The upstairs is also complete privacy, even with all shutters open - it truly felt like we were in our own private jungle getaway and it was absolutely amazing. Staff would light candles and draw baths every night without asking and we will certainly come back here next time we are in Ubud <3

Tinhamos muita privacidade e o fato de termos uma vista ainda bem ampla e para um mata verde é um privilegio em UBUD. O centro não é longe mas o ideal é ter uma scooter para poder ir e vir a qualquer momento pois a Vila fica em uma região mais calma em termos de restaurantes e bares, que era exatamente o que estavamos procurando, um lugar perto do centro mas mais tranquilo. Quanto ao staff, todos são muito atenciosos, atentos as nossas necessidades e pedidos e muito rapidos em nos responder quando tinhamos alguma solicitação. A comida da Iluh é uma delicia, o Beef Rendang e os Curry's foram os nossos preferidos e a Frozen Margarita é muito bem feita. Vale fazer pelo menos uma refeição com eles. Adoramos e com certeza consideramos voltar na nossa proxima visita a UBUD

We stayed here for 4 nights on our honeymoon. Our first time in Bali coming from Uluwatu to the “jungle”. This place blew us away!! We had romantic privacy but also so close to downtown and many inexpensive food & massage options. We had adventures of a lifetime and loved coming back to our candlelit villa, all to us! The pool is so underrated from what I read in reviews ahead of time, it’s great during the day or during nighttime. We loved feeling outdoors all the time. We only noticed the street noise on the first night but easily covered up with a white noise machine if you do need. Wow - the staff at the Villa Shamballa is the BEST!!!! We love them so much. The food service - so yummy and easy !

Generally a good experience, place is hard to find but with instructions are fine. The trails leading to the villa can upkeep... There is a small pothole which can be hassle for car to entry. Lightnings can be a bit dim. Overall, it is a great experience

Honestly, this was probably one of the best stays I’ve ever had through Airbnb. Atsu and Wendy were amazing. They started out by reaching out to me and made sure I had everything I needed. I am extremely thankful that they accommodated a really last booking. The stay at the villa was beautiful. The staff were so friendly, kind and took care of every need I had. Every morning started with complimentary breakfast and an amazing view. I can not recommended a better place to stay than Villa Shamballa. I was extremely sad to leave and wish I could’ve stayed longer. If I ever come back, I will 100% stay here again. Thank you so much!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la villa qui est très agréable à vivre. La vue est incroyable et le personnel exceptionnel. Le seul point négatif pour nous était le bruit de la circulation vraiment très présent à toute heure de la journée et de la nuit. Nous nous attendions à passer 10 jours dans la jungle avec le bruit de la nature. Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour mais nous aurions préféré un environ sans bruit de circulation incessant.

What drew me back to Villa Shamballa is its perfect blend of seclusion and convenience, being privately tucked away yet close to central Ubud and the Yoga Barn. The villa's design masterfully combines traditional Balinese elements with sleek modern touches, creating a unique and harmonious space. The ambiance feels both timeless and fresh, making it a truly beautiful and inspiring place that unmistakably embodies what is Bali. Atsu and Wendy were very responsive and remembered me from my previous stay with my family. I will be returning to Villa Shamballa again.

An absolute gem that’s worth every dollar. Beautiful location, incredible staff, complete privacy and so many thoughtful touches. Absolutely loved sitting and listening to the sounds of the jungle — frogs chatting in the evenings, and cute birdsong each morning. There’s too many lovely aspects of this place to mention them all, but some things that might help you choose this place: Super comfy beds, wonderful meals cooked by the staff on request, everything spotlessly clean, and a gorgeous pool. This is a jungle house, so if you can’t handle a few geckos and the occasional bug, it might not be for you. (I only mention this because I often see negative reviews for places where people are upset by a bit of wildlife. For us, this is just a part of being amongst the beautiful nature here). Thank you Atsu and Wendy for one of the best airbnb stays we’ve had in 10 years of travel.

Villa Shamballa is quite simply extraordinary! A truly magical place. Private and beautifully decorated. Listening to the sounds of the jungle whilst you swim in your own infinity pool! Gusti, Cadek, Iluh and Golong were the most gentle, friendly and helpful people, it was a pleasure to meet them. Incredible food and frozen margaritas! The greatest bath in the history of the known universe is here. We absolutely loved staying and we will be back. Matur suksema!

We stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days in July and had the most amazing time. The villa is beautiful beyond words and the lush surrounding greenery just adds to the character of the villa. Staying here will make anyone feel one with the nature - no air con was required during our stay as the weather was good (something I was worried of). The staff service was mind blowing - we had dinner and breakfast and it was delicious. All the staffs made us feel welcomed and comfortable. My 21 month old son was very happy and the staff got fresh fruits everyday of his choice and provided fresh milk too and laundry service was provided too. We had a relaxing time at the villa. Will definitely recommend everyone to stay here and we will come back again!

Das Ankommen in der Villa war sehr herzlich und freundlich. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr hilfsbereit und jederzeit verfügbar, um unsere Wünsche zu erfüllen. Das Haus an sich ist auch traumhaft, durch den offenen Schnitt muss man jedoch damit rechnen, dass sämtliche Klamotten und Bezüge immer wieder leicht klamm sind. Durch die Nähe zur Stadt hört man sehr viele Motorengeräusche, woran man sich nach einer Weile auch gewöhnt, man muss sich aber eben darauf einstellen. Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden, haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden wieder kommen!

An incredible stay. We felt so looked after and our 11m old baby absolutely loved the beautiful staff who would always bring a smile to his face. A little hard for GoJek drivers to know where the access road leading to the villa is located, so I’d recommend waiting for them on the main road rather than at the villa. Would definitely stay again, highly recommend.

BREATHTAKING!!!! The villa is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! So so chic in decor, absolutely incredible view of the jungle treetops! The pool is just beautiful! The open concept in the bedroom is so special and once in a lifetime! And we didn’t feel hot once in the bedroom despite it being open, in fact we felt better Jan most air con rooms as there was fresh air all night and a fan above the bed if you need it. What makes this place the cherry on the cake is undeniably the staff! They are all absolutely AMAZING and we can’t thank them enough for their Balinese hospitality, it was truly first class! We ate at the villa every night despite having restaurant reservations in Ubud, we cancelled them all as the chef is incredible and with the view overlooking the jungle why wouldn’t you want to eat there every night! Also they bring candles in every night for you so there is such a special atmosphere. Spotlessly clean! And wayan the driver is the best! Thank you everyone at Villa Shamballa!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Villa Shamballa! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Very responsive before, during and after the trip as well. The only thing I would highlight is that the place is secluded, meaning the road to the villa can be a bit tricky for Gojek to find, or motorbike to access. We frequently had to wait a few times for the driver to make a u-turn and find us. But the view and amenities do make up for it. We truly felt like we were in our own private oasis! Highly recommend if you do not plan on going out frequently during your stay.

Unequivocally yes. Upon the smooth and welcoming check in process we were both in amazement and awe at the natural beauty bestowed of the villa and the view. It exceeded our expectations in every area accumulating in a perfect getaway. The staff were fantastic and go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was always excellent, presented at a time of our choice. We had two evening meals and they were both incredible. The ribs and skewered prawns were fabulous. We had the most relaxing time at Villa, thankyou to the marvellous staff, our memories will remain forever.

My husband and I came here for a few nights for our honeymoon and we were BLOWN away. If you can believe it, it’s even more breathtaking in person, from the views to the living space to the pool. The staff was incredible, so kind, attentive, fun, and they cooked the best food we’ve had in Bali so far. The villa is wonderfully designed with plenty of hang-out areas, and a spacious and generous layout as well as elegant furniture. The staff was very friendly, attentive and always helpful. We were travelling with a 7 month old baby and everyone was very sweet with her. It was really nice to have a kitchen servicing the villa and get breakfast made and not have to worry about groceries etc. The pool is refreshing and a good length for swimming laps. The only downside was the proximity to the main road which at times was louder than the birds, frogs and other wonderful jungle sounds..

We stayed at Shambala 10years ago and it’s still just as lovely, private and beautiful as it was then. Although there is no air conditioning the villa is open, airy and so close to nature. The surrounds are tropical and leafy and you constantly feel relaxed because of the openness. The infinity pool is big and very refreshing. Breakfast is served daily and is so delicious and the options are great. The villa is serviced daily by onsite staff who are very friendly and attentive to all your needs. We had 2 delicious dinners in house cooked and served fresh to us beside the pool overlooking the gardens. The location is a short drive into town or to local restaurants, supermarket, spas and the Campuhan Ridge Walk. Although there is a great spa and restaurant in walking distance to the villa. Thank you to the wonderful staff who were there over our 4 night stay. Kadek, Komang, Ilu & Erik you were all amazing. We highly recommend this villa and would definitely stay again.

An absolute gem in a peaceful and quiet area only minutes from Ubud! I was fortunate to stay here for 5 nights before ultimately extending my stay another 2 nights to their villa next door. The home is private, clean, a beautiful view, well decorated, and very spacious! The staff are extremely friendly and amazing chefs!! Everything about this place was exactly what I needed for a relaxing holiday. Close enough to Ubud for anything I wanted, but also in a quiet area and piece of property to escape and have peace. The staff was excellent, very kind, helped with booking massages and drivers and were always on call if we needed anything. The villa is in the ‘jungle’ so be prepared for wildlife sounds (part of the experience!). The bed is fully covered by a mosquito net, which was great.

It was a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. The Villa staff were extremely friendly, polite and professional. The food that they severed was hand made, home cooked and delicious and rivaled or beat anything you could have had in town. The watermelon drinks were refreshing after a long day of hiking. We cannot thank the driver Wayan enough that the villa offered. We did not have to worry about taxis and offered as a tour guide and drove us all around the island. He and the rest of the staff made the trip. we can’t wait to go back!!!

Wow, what a hidden Jem! We spent our post wedding get away after our wedding in uluwatu and was soooo relaxed. We were part of the nature jungle, peace and quietness and was fully able to enjoy our luxurious time alone :) Awesome foods and great hospitality, staffs were super caring and attentive! We stayed at here for our honeymoon and wow what an amazing experience! This villa exceeded our expectations! It’s absolutely beautiful and the staff are fantastic. From making us breakfast in the mornings, cooking dinners, to doing our laundry, organising taxis and massages. This villa has been the best experiences we’ve ever had not only on air bnb but it’s better than a 5 star hotel! The staff really go out of their way to make you feel at home and the little touches go a long way. Please be mindful when booking that the villa is open so there will be some gekkos and frogs around the place at night but they keep to themselves. There’s some traffic noise in the distance but it settles down at night. We slept very well here. I would highly recommend this place for those looking for a romantic getaway for their honeymoon or romantic holiday. We were sad leaving the villa but we hope to return in the future. Thanks to the wonderful staff for making our honeymoon so special!

Myself and my girlfriend stayed in this villa whilst in Ubud. The villa is lovely, it’s secluded, private and feels like a movie. However that’s not the best part, the staff are the friendly, most hospitable people I’ve ever met. They cannot do enough for you. They are excellent cooks and as such, the food we had whilst staying was amazing. The villa is about 10minute drive from Ubud centre but a simple ask of the staff and a driver would be sorted. This villa made me feel like James Bond and if I were to come back to Bali I’d be rebooking this, I’m going to recommend to friends and family. Thankyou for making our stay in Ubud so special.

This was the first place we stayed on our honeymoon and we couldn’t have dreamed of a better experience. It was truly incredible. The staff were so kind and polite. The food they cooked was fabulous, their driver, Wayan was incredible! Not to mention the house it’s self! Soooo stunning, room cleaned every day, flower baths and massages! Wow! We couldn’t recommend the Villa more highly, we were sad to leave. Thank you to the Villa Staff!

We stayed at Villa Shamballa for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and it was definitely the highlight of our trip. The villa is absolutely stunning - with beautiful surroundings. The staff were incredibly friendly and responsive and helped us with everything we needed during our stay. We spent a day and evening with two friends during our stay and the staff were super helpful in providing a tour for the 4 of us and cooking a meal for us all in the evening. Every meal we had during our stay was delicious and beat any meal we had elsewhere in Bali. We were sad to leave and will remember this place forever.

The most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed. Luxurious, secluded, and quiet in the jungle. Staff are amazing and there for anything you might need. The food is yummy and the private pool is spectacular. We will definitely be back!

Great place and lovely straff

Best Villa we have ever stayed in. The staff are brilliant, and really made the experience, they couldn’t do enough for you. A great location just outside of the centre. A true luxury stay.

Our stay at the villa was amazing. As a 3 person group in a villa that is seemingly predominately for 2 people, we found it so accomodating and perfect. The extra bed and canopy were great, and even down to the fact we got extra robes and slippers was such a nice touch. Everyone was so so friendly, and the breakfast service was lovely. We loved the addition of massages in house and private yoga that our hosts could organise for us. The villa was very clean despite being largely open. If you don’t mind the occasional wildlife, this place is perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay at beautiful Villa Shamballa! For me, what makes this place so great are the staff, they are so kind, friendly and will help you with anything you need (laundry, massage, food and drinks etc!). The villa is very beautiful, the set up is ideal for a couple and the gardens and pool are stunning! It looks exactly like the pictures and is such a relaxing atmosphere. Despite it being off the beaten track there is some motorbike noise at night, however I assume this is to be expected in a busy place like Ubud and you will need transport to get to any of the tourist spots/town centre but again the staff are more than happy to sort this. Thank you so much to Kadek, Iluh and the rest of the team for such a wonderful stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Shamballa. It is so beautiful, peaceful and spacious - such a treat. The staff are all so helpful, we had some of the best food we had in our two weeks in Indonesia, and Wayan (the driver) was especially great driving us everywhere we needed to be! We loved our stay here and felt so at ease in the place. Such a wonderful space to disconnect. The in villa meals were the best we had and highly recommend. Everyone of the staff was amazing and helpful and very friendly. If you don’t have a bike it’s hard to walk around but we managed and ate at the local E2C and had a couple massages up the road at the Ubud Healing Centre which was lovely (but book!) Thanks so much for our stay, we loved being there.

The villa is absolutely perfect. It is the perfect balance of being able to stay and enjoy a calm day by the pool or go out and explore Bali. The staff was so welcoming and made everything so easy. It was like we were family. Can’t wait to go back!!

What an amazing experience in Ubud. Perfect spot for honeymooners and couple romantic get away. We absolutely love the place and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating to everything we need. The in-house chef was wonderful preparing delicious food every meal. Only wish we could stay longer, and definitely recommend all travelers to check it out!

Loved the villa. One day I plan to visit again

We were a bit scared to come here since the photos were so beautiful, we thought the reality wouldn’t meet our expectations. No matter how pretty the photos are it’s somehow even more beautiful in person. All the staff are amazing, they were so sweet to my daughter and the food was amazing. Most of our stay we just ate at the villa. What I was most impressed with is how CLEANNNN the place is!!!! That wasn’t my biggest concern and it exceeded my expectations

We had the most amazing time here! The pictures are exact and the villa is just beautiful! The staff at Shamballa are all so attentive and happy to help organise excursions, massages and taxis ect. The villa is just a drive away from Ubud with loads of restaurants. A massive shout out to Wyann their driver. He picked us up and dropped us back at the airport. He also took us to the sights we wanted to see and would always find you in the biggest of crowds when you were finished! Highly recommended! Thank you so much to all the team x

My husband and I had a wonderful experience staying at the villa. It was comfortable, secluded but easy to catch a car to central ubud. The hosts were very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast, lunches and dinners were all amazing. We also booked a massage that made our last time perfect. I highly recommend staying with Atsu and Wendy. We hope to be back sooner than later.

Wow! What a unique open air villa! We came to Ubud for our Babymoon and wanted a romantic place to stay. My husband always prefers hotels over airbnbs because the of ease of things. Although, this villa is serviced and has the kindest staff. His mind quickly changed after seeing this! We were also hesitant of the possible mosquitos but somehow they weren’t around. The location is about 15-20 from the inner city where the cafes and shopping are. But if you want to stay at a cool place, this location is great. They have drivers we could hire or Grab is also an option. We also booked in villa massages and yoga. It was a treat! I’d say the lighting is very dim in the villa and there are some geckos throughout. You need to be okay with a bit of nature :) The hosts were very helpful when it came trying to get packages delivered and any questions we had. Totally recommend this villa :)

As many others have said, the pictures do not do this place justice. It is GORGEOUS! Unbelievably gorgeous with excellent interior design. The staff are also so friendly and kind! Particularly Gusti, if you’re lucky enough to have him during you stay, he’s an absolute angel. Would definitely recommend!

Words can’t really describe our stay at Shamballa. It was magical and the villa is paradise. The villa is better than pictures and very relaxing. Atsu and Wendy’s house is a paradise in a jungle. From the sounds, views and service provided, it is the perfect get-a-way. Tucked back in the jungle, the most friendly staff and delicious breakfast this place is a true gem. The perfect place with close proximity to exploring Ubud or hanging by the pool. We loved our stay here.

Very nice place

Villa is huge and spacious, located far from main road (but still accessible by car), so we can have the privacy. It also makes us feel close to nature, expect to meet some guests (frogs, gecko, etc). One morning, there is a monkey pass in front of the bedroom. We really enjoy our stay and would love to comeback someday. Kadek also actively checking if we need anything. Thank you.

We stayed for few days in this villa and it was really amazing. I recommend it to anyone! The villa is huge, with a nice jungle view and a nice pool. The staff is super nice also, really helpful and reactive. Well, there’s too many good things to say to be able to write it in here. But you will understand me if you go there one day!

This place is pure magic! One of the most amazing places we have ever stayed and would go back in a heartbeat. The sounds of the jungle, being so close to nature, sleeping outside... it was so special. The breakfast was amazing too, the freshest, most delicious fruit and pineapple pancakes. We will always dream of Shamballa Villa!

The place and the view are majestic, located in the middle on the forest and very private. This is the first time that we stayed very close to nature and it couldn’t be any better than this. From morning till evening, the weather was perfect for laid back, as it was chilly and windy. I will definitely recommend this place for those who wanted to have a peaceful time, bonding with nature or have a romantic gateway with your partner.

Would highly recommend anyone to stay here. You have an amazing jungle view with a pool directed towards it. As long as you enjoy sleeping in the open, the bedroom will be the best ever. And the bath on the second floor with a jungle view can give you a great evening experience. great for having some friends over as well as the villa is fitted with bose speakers and lots of locations for sitting down comfortably & conversing with friends.

Shamballa was amazing... Kadek, Comang and team were amazingly hospitable, welcoming and made the stay 💚 Kind, friendly and Kadek’s cooking was better than anything we ate out and about. The villa is stunning, peaceful, open air and amongst birds, geckos, frogs and beautiful gardens; with lots of thoughtful touches. The Villa is amazing! The view from your bed in the morning, when you have breakfast, have a swim of relax at the pool is incredible. The whole house is decorated with so much love and very stylish, everything was wonderful! The staff is so kind and helpful and the food they have made for us every evening was delicious. Unfortunatly, you always hear traffic noise during the day and night. Apart from that, it is truly a paradise!

I had read the reviews about the service but didn’t really understand the extent of it. My new husband and I stayed here for 4 days during the end of our 2 week honeymoon. We stayed in Seminyak and Nusa Lembongan prior with this the most memorable experience. Kidek and Mini were like family during our 4 day stay. It truly was like family hosting a relative for the week. They would cook us exactly what we desired in the morning (even specifics like no butter) and chat with us about their children. I truly felt like I got waited on by hand and foot. They would call for drivers wherever and whenever we needed to go, always on time. All the drivers they used were knowledge about Bali, the culture and location/recommendations and spoke great English. We felt safe and at home. They were our personal caretakers, chefs, and almost like a Mom. We used their in-house massage people twice and it was the most fantastic experience, Kidek even made up a stunning flower bath for us after to bathe in. Their is no air conditioning as you are truly living outside but the view into the jungle each morning we would say makes up for it. There is some noise from the road out the back if that bothers you but doesn’t take away from the beauty. Overall a 5 star experience.

We have never stayed in a place like this before. Everything was just perfect. We were in the middle of the jungle in a luxurious villa with amazing views all arounds. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of nature was something we will never forget. The great kindness and professionalism of the staff made our stay even more amazing. We recommend this place to all travellers looking for unique experience mixing luxury with the nature.

This was by far the best villa we have ever stayed in.. the accommodation was perfect and it was like being in heaven for four days. The staff are all fantastic especially gusti who is the most kind and lovely man we have ever met , all the staff go above and beyond and make you feel so welcome , you are so lucky to have someone like gusti looking after your guests he made our trip. My husband and I travelled for a month for our honeymoon and stayed in a variety of different places - villa Shamballa was our favourite part of the whole trip! Words or photos can’t begin to describe the beauty of the villa and the whole experience is made by the team all running the place. The food was so incredible we ate at the villa 2 of our 3 nights. Both were candlelit by the beautiful infinity pool overlooking the jungle - so magical! The team went out of their way to cater to our every need - this place is just a dream! We will most certainly be back again and plan to stay much longer next time! Thank you so much for the memories of a lifetime!

Eine wirklich tolle Location! Sehr nettes und hilfreiches Personal, das Essen wunderbar. Etwas schade, dass man keine Möglichkeit hat, auch selbst mal etwas zuzubereiten. Somit ist man immer an die vorgegebenen Essenszeiten gebunden.

The Shamballa Villa was a dream come true. If you want to experience a relaxing vacation with a balinese feel, this is the place to stay! The staff was wonderful! More than willing to help enhance our experience in whatever way possible. The villa was clean, open, beautifully decorated, with a specatular view! We will surely return after the amazing time we had.

We had a fantastic time at Shamballa residence villa. The villa is even more beautiful then the pictures - everything is outside and you really get a feeling of the Bali spirit. The staff were warm, welcoming and always helpful with any request you might have. We will miss them :) We recommend the villa if you want to visit Ubud. It's a 15 minutes drive by car from Ubud Palace (center). However the Villa is a little hidden and not everyone knows where it is. So we can recommend a local SIM card for easy contact to the staff for directions. It helped us a lot. Besides one day we also used the access to local phone to call the Villa, to have a wonderful flower bath ready for us when coming home from a long day of trekking. As a side-note we can recommend the Mozaic restaurant not far from the Villa. Amazing Michelin quality dinner. Again thank you for a great stay. Cecilie & Patrick

Wow! All I want to say is what a special place! When we arrived we were absolutely stunned by the beauty of this place - it took our breathe away! We didn't have many expectations overall but this place couldn't be more perfect or exceed any expectations we could have had for our first stay in Bali. We did not want to leave Atsu & Wendy's place - the staff were so lovely and hospitable, not to mention how AMAZING the food was! The atmosphere of this beautiful Villa was surrean and like a palace in the jungle. We felt very comfortable here and was very sad to leave. We have to say that we have been in Bali almost a week and have stayed in many areas and villas and we feel so far throughout our trip we believe that this particular villa and place in general is our favourite so far.
