South Kuta town house

Exploring South Kuta town house left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.

The virtual preview of South Kuta town house was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my South Kuta plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.

I found the tour for South Kuta town house painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.

The person in charge of welcoming you and cleaning the place is very kind and professional (Karina), and Martha was kind. That being said, the place is a real disaster. It is very small (only 40 or 45 m2), very rusty, there are HOLES on every door, it is not safe at all as you could easily with a spoon break the entrance door, and one of the window is maybe 5cm from the wall. There are mold stains (and such a humidity smell!) on the wall of the room and you can not spend more than 1 or 2h without AC in this house as it gets very warm. One AC is about to break down and the smell is terrible. We tried opening the windows but then you have 15 mosquitos entering. In the bathroom, the ventilator doesn't work and one light is broken. I would be ashamed to host people in a house like this. Everything is falling apart. It deserves to be rebuilt and maintained. I know the host already accused a guest to "lie" in a comment so let me be clear: I have photos and proof of everything I'm saying.

Place was ok.

Good: The house is quite spacious and has a good equipped kitchen. Also the location is quite but still near to many restaurants. WiFi is also quite good and stable. Bad: the house really needs maintenance. AC in one bedroom was really loud and completely stopped working during our stay. Bathroom is completely run down and the shower is really bad. Also there are A LOT of ants everywhere in the house as they seem to live in the walls. The house needs a proper pest control. All in all it was quite cheap but I would not recommend it.

Nice place to stay for few days in Uluwatu!

The place is spacious and the kitchen is very well equipped. We especially enjoyed having good knives, baking sheets and a toaster. It would've been nice to have more than one toilet paper roll for our 8 day stay. We also felt the host could have been more helpful with the questions we had about the area. Overall we had a good stay and would recommend it.

Небольшой, но довольно приятный дом. Все чисто и выглядит вполне достойно. Все работало исправно: кондиционеры, горячая вода 👌. Очень тихо. Из минусов можно отметить отсутствие придомовой территории и до магазинов и кафе очень далеко, байк обязателен. В целом соотношение цена/качество неплохое.

Great stay even extended an extra couple days. It's semi Western-Balinese bungalow and the kitchen is a real winner. The beds are comfy and clean, pillows are fluffy and the lounge sofa was really comfy too. Big dining table. The bungalow is cozy it seems a bit bigger in pictures but it's not deceptive and it is as it appears. IMPORTANT: You need transport (bike you hire or a bike taxi Gojek app or Grab app) GET AN INTERNET PACKAGE before you arrive! At the time of this review there was no wifi at this home. But internet here is cheap you just gotta buy it first. Karina or Martha can tell you how. (buy a local sim card at airport or at the "pulsa warung" and make sure you make them help you register and set it up before u leave them! Late check in at 1am was a blessing and we were grateful for the lovely maid/custodian Karina and her sweet son 2 year old Habibi. They come if there's any problem or if you want her to clean. Do pay her a little something separately for this. She is a gem and speaks a little English and was really helpful. Both Martha and Karina use whatsapp to help with needs. Tip: the shower tap direction for hot is cold and direction for cold is hot. My hubby discovered this before me.. Didn't tell me and I had 2 cold showers thinking it wasn't working lol. Great value for money, not too far from restaurants in Uluwatu and Ungasan, lots of beaches within 10-20 mins of each other. I do recommend.

Martha responded very quickly to any queries that we had, and her housekeeper, Karina, is also very efficient. The guesthouse was very clean and cosy, with all basic amenities met to ensure a fulfilling stay. Close to most tourist attractions in South Bali, and Kuta only an hour away. Highly recommended!

The accommodation was comfortable and cozy. Everything you need for living was there. Communication was fast and super.

We liked the location, easy to get to different beaches and parts of Bukit. Its a simple place, not very new, but clean and quiet - worth it's money.

We originally booked for 2 weeks, but I ended up feeling so comfortable here that I extended my stay for another 10 days. The location is super convenient—just 10 minutes to Melasti Beach and 10 minutes to Dreamland. Everything was easy and accessible. I’d love to come back again!

Great place to stay, not a lot in the area but quite handy if off to Savaya. No complaints other than that!

Отличное место, чтобы отдохнуть от дневных приключений. Очень тихое место в стороне от дорог. Martha и её домработница Карина были всегда на связи, общение было лёгкое! Две маленькие спальни с кроватями шириной 160! и гостинная с полноценной кухней, оснащённой всей необходимой посудой, и большим холодильником! Отдельный плюс - это наличие стиральной машины! Был телевизор с программами, но подключить свою флешку через USB не удалось.

Perfect place for family. The house was very clean and tidy. The stuffs were so conplete, really felt like at home. Washing machine, iron, stove, napkin, etc. Karina the staff, was also very friendly and helpful. Near the house, we can easily find small shop, supermarket and even pharmacy. Really recommended! Thank you 🙏🏻

Great villa in a good location, a 25min or so scooter ride to the beach. The villa was in great condition and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you to Martha for having us and Karina for doing a great job with the cleaning and checking us in.

We enjoyed staying here :) it was very quite and with a scooter you can come easily to the busy streets. You can also walk to few restaurants :)

Amazing place! Comfortable, with nice furniture, kitchen has everything you need. The beds are amazing, everything was so clean and smelled really good. Felt like sleeping in heaven. Peaceful and quiet location to rest. Loved staying there and I really want to go back.

Karina the caretaker was extremely helpful and cheerful. Had an easy breezy stay at the place.

Overall we loved the place & felt like home & comfortable. Pros- Exactly like pictures & well kept so felt like home. The caretaker Karina stayed so late to help us check-in which was so sweet of her. Kitchen is great & fully stocked. All amenities like chimney, all utensils and fridge in kitchen, AC in every room, TV and recliner in living room, water heater and exost fan in bathroom, private parking area for both scooter & a car inside the property & sepeate washing area with washing machine plus 2 racks for hanging washed clothes and nice backyard for chilling which was great & cozy. safe surroundings. best beaches & good restaurants is just 10-15 mins drive. In this price it's just great, go for it. Cons- Overall rooms are not big enough. Location is near to Uluwatu beaches but a bit secluded also, it's a developing residential society, so had to walk 1km to get scooter on rent and nearest grocery shop is also 10mins walk from the stay.

Super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Karina, die Haushälterin, war super freundlich und hat immer sehr schnell geantwortet. Sie hat sogar bis nachts auf uns gewartet für den Check-in. Also super Service! Mit dem Roller ist alles in Bukit bzw. Uluwatu sehr gut zu erreichen. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, was uns auch gut gefallen hat. Zusammenfassend kann man sagen, dass wir sehr gerne wieder kommen würden, wenn wir nochmal nach Uluwatu kommen :-)

Highly recommended! Martha's place is well outside the busy streets of Kuta Selatan but you would not have an issue getting Grab/Gojek to the main spots which are not far. Location is central, internet is fast and suited our needs. We also appreciate the complementary water. Martha's home is well equipped and you can easily find yourself just staying/chilling inside rather than going out!

Is a lovely family home close to everything I need!

It was so lovely having our own space after travelling around Bali for six weeks. We so appreciated Karina, she is an awesome lady who was very responsive and helpful during our stay. We felt very secure and cosy in our little home and even made friends with the local dogs, in particular Brownie ☺️ I can totally recommend staying at Martha's place and we hope to stay again.

Love this place so much. Easy to get to, close to all the things I enjoy about bali. Very comfortable bedding and lounge areas. Felt safe and secure. Nice neighbourhood. I will come back! I’m extremely happy with this place!

It’s really nice stay. It’s small but have enough space, quiet and peaceful, perfect place to sleep and relax after long day and very much need to rest. The owner is very helpful and responsive. The other person Named Karina also very kind and helpful. It’s recommended place to stay. Will come here again.

It was really nice.

We had a great stay, nice and quiet. Karina the house keeper is amazing, so helpful and fast to respond if anything comes up. There are no walking distance businesses so you need to order transportation or make arrangements to drive or ride a bike. This was our first time visiting Bali so having a western style kitchen turned out to be convenient. Beautiful landscaping too so it was nice to sit in the backyard and take in the sun. Needless to say, the beaches are everywhere. The neighbouring restaurants offer a great variety of food, local or western, at an affordable price. I would recommend, thank you for letting us stay!

The house is like on photos, clean, everything we need in the kitchen like at home. Not far from White rock beach, karma beach etc 5/10 mn by car. Martha is really very nice and always responding very quickly and helpful. Karina, the housekeeper is so kind, she waited for us till we arrived home at about 9.45pm and came for check out early morning at 7am. I recommend this place. Thank Martha and Karina. We Weill come back next year

Definitely recommend! Especially if you're new to Bali and all its creatures. Because this place is much more European-style, it's easier to feel like at home. The beds are good, the conditioners work well in every room, and the water cooler is great. Location: it's just a block on the side of the road, which has nothing but private houses. But, you have restaurants and shops just in 5 minutes by bike. It's Uluwatu road, which goes from Uluwatu to Denpasar and has lots of places you might want to visit. Also, Karma and Melasti beaches are just 7-10 minutes by bike. Uluwatu Temple - 15 minutes. Jimbaran fish market - <20min. So the location is very comfortable. But the main thing about this place is the host. Might be the best host I've ever seen. Very responsive, and always ready to come and help, which she actually did many times with any of our issues. You can be very confident that there gonna be no problem she won't be able to solve. 12/10

It's a good place to stay for a long term. You'll have everything that you need, private backyard and parking, 2 bedrooms, fully furnished kitchen. Very quiet place and neighbours. 5 mins to Pepito, 15 mins to several beaches. Definitely recommend

Just what I needed for the time period. The place was extremely clean and in a quiet neighborhood and well equipped with everything I was looking for. I was able to work steadily and feel like I was at home all at once. I will definitely stay here again.

Жила в доме вдвоем с ребенком. Все понравилось. Есть стиральная машина , хороший выбор программ. Оборудованная кухня. Есть вся необходимая посуда, некоторые кухонные инструменты для готовки не очень новые. Постель и подушки свежие, плесени не было. В комнатах так же плесени не было. Есть много средств от комаров в доме. Тихое место, ночью тишина. Из минусов: нет wi-fi( это есть в описании дома) Кулер с водой требует очистки ( отверстие из которого течёт вода в плесени) кусочки падают в воду Достаточно много домашних пауков( если вы их боитесь будет очень неприятно) Проживание в доме мне понравилось. Место безопасное и спокойное, все необходимое есть в доме.

Martha очень отзывчивый и вежливый арендодатель, помогалас любыми вопросами, любезно разрешила выселиться позже установленного времени. Дом полностью соответствует фотографиям, есть всё необходимое для комфорта. 5-10 минут на такси до центральной улицы или пляжа.

Martha's place was perfect – it was clean, and comfortable, with a fully stocked kitchen. Arrival and check in was easy, and Martha accommodated early check in after a long flight, which was very helpful. When there was a problem with the AC, Martha got it sorted out really quickly, and was very responsive and attentive. Highly recommended!

Good location, small supermarket up the road and short drive to beaches. The kitchen was jam packed full of good equipment and Martha made sure items such as oil salt pepper etc were there to use. Washing machine was a great touch. Beds comfy, good aircon. Thank you

Отличный вариант для проживания, очень чисто, удобные кровати, в кухне есть все необходимое, кондиционеры в каждой комнате, нам хватало одного в гостиной, стиральная машина, сушилка. В 5-7 минутах ходьбы местные варунги, маркет, до основной улицы, где можно поменять деньги минут 20 ходьбы. До пляжа пешком далеко, нужен транспорт. Хозяйка сразу после бронирования связалась дала свой номер телефона, встретила в 9 вечера.

Well maintained house with great amenities. Our check in was smooth, eventhough we reached very late in the night. There was everything that we needed in the house. We definitely recommend this to our friends. We had a great time especially my little son.

Марта всегда была на связи и помогала нам с нашими вопросами. Дом чистый, аккуратный, без запахов, со всем необходимым для проживания, петухи за окнами не поют и не гавкают собаки. Спать было очень комфортно. Спасибо, Марта, за такое гостеприимство. Советую.

Das Haus war wunderschön und bestens ausgestattet. Die Gegend ist sehr ruhig. Da das Haus in einer Sackgasse liegt kommen auch keine LKWs vorbei. Die Küche war wirklich voll ausgestattet. Das Bett ist sehr gemütlich. Einen Scooter braucht man allerdings um herumzukommen. Aber das ist ja in ganz Uluwatu so. Kommen auf jeden Fall wieder

A really great little find on the Bukit. Comfy beds, awesome kitchen with quality cookware, and a great lounge to chill. We stayed here for a month and I can't think of one complaint. Martha even got in touch after an earthquake to make sure we were ok. Highly recommended. Also, for the internet, just get a Telkomsel data sim for your phone and keep topping up when you need. And make sure you visit Juanita's Mexican around the corner - the best fish tacos on the island!

The host was extremely accommodating and helpful in making our stay a pleasant one. The home is very homie and has almost everything you need. Just rent a scooter, and you have so many cool destinations to check out around the way.
