Exploring Tresna Bali Cabin: Discover Hidden Ubud Luxury left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.

The virtual preview of Tresna Bali Cabin: Discover Hidden Ubud Luxury was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Bedulu plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.
I found the tour for Tresna Bali Cabin: Discover Hidden Ubud Luxury painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.
Overall, it was a decent stay, but the photos and description set expectations that didn’t quite match reality. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the sheets had yellow stains, which was disappointing. There were also too many rules and details for a place that doesn’t really justify them. On the positive side, the staff were incredibly friendly and the morning coffee they provided was excellent.
The cottage is nice and clean, but they are very picky and have too many rules, that at the end made my stay uncomfortable,no shoes,no eating inside the cottage, keep door close at all times to prevent mosquitoes in, instead of providing a mosquito net on the bed area, and let the guest enjoy nature if they want to. The AC unit is too small for the cottage and Ubud gets pretty hot, even with the ceiling fan on. By accident I spilled one tea spoon of dry instant coffee at 5:30am, before been picked up at 6am and when I came back , Adi made a drama over it. Next to the cottage is a construction going on and the place where the workers sleep is a few meters away ,so they make a lot of noise without any consideration . Even is Tresna Bali is a cooking school, there are no cooking facilities for the guests, so if you get hungry in the middle of the night, jetlaged, etc.. just try to meditate and relax
As advertised. Energetic, fun loving, prepared - Adi and Frances have clearly been round the hospitality block. Check in and out was a breeze. Loved: the new pool, clean villa, well thought amenities (toaster, filtered water, good bed&pillows), Wi-fi, sitting out on deck amid a pruned jungle-esque garden, excellent housekeeping team, and in-room massages (do ask Adi to share the good cause :) Unexpected was a huge centipede falling from roof to bed - no fault of theirs - but an experience to remember after a surprise quake and rains! Kudos to both for quickly responding to our SOS. Also we couldn't join their cooking classes this trip, sounds like tons of fun - some days we woke to sounds of cooking tools and belly laughs (fyi if you're late sleepers like us). A quiet hood about 15mins (or 30 in jams) from Ubud city, refer to Frances' handy villa guide - also, they'll kindly help book tours + recommendations if you need. Thanks, both!
The property is beautiful and has direct access to a river underneath which was amazing. The guidebook was very helpful for nearby restaurants and activities. The only concern with our particular cottage / villa was the noise. We were expecting quiet times from night - early morning but ended up with 2 nights of interrupted sleep due to dogs barking loudly after the said time.
When we arrived at the place the staff helped us with our bags into the room. The bungalow is spacious and nicely furnished, just be aware that there is no mosquito net on the bed and that it is in the middle of a Balian garden, so it is easy to find some insect, mosquito or frog, even being very careful with opening the door. It is located in the garden of Adi's cooking school, quite close to the host's house and with limited privacy. The guests can join the cooking classes and the staff is friendly. Finally, there is only one restaurant reachable by foot and online food ordering could be very limited when it rains, so there is very limited options food wise.
Frances and Adi are really good hosts and are always responsive. However it wasn’t that obvious to us that we’d be staying right next door to their family kitchen home with a big window where they can see you and you can see them. It’s not private at all and it was really hard for us to relax :’) Some mentioned it’s noisy - it is. There’s construction, dogs barking, roosters and a loud clicking noise from a wind instrument. Obviously this is not within their control, but be wary of it if you’re a light sleeper or looking for quiet. Pros and cons: - Bathroom is gorgeous. - SO clean - Limited internet so you can’t stream. - You won’t have access to a kitchen, it’s in the photos but the hosts specified it’s their own private kitchen. - Drinks in fridge are not complimentary :’) Frances and Adi will give as many recommendations as you ask for, they’re really sweet, hard-working and well organised! But…it’s not the relaxing, tranquil stay we had envisioned 😖
The Little Wooden Cottage is truly stunning. It’s a beautiful space, comfortable, clean and thoughtfully presented. We loved the freestanding bath! Frances and Adi and all their staff were warm and welcoming. The garden is beautiful and full of butterflies. As is very clear in the listing, there is a lot of noise from the village at night, most of it beautiful jungle sounds but the dogs did keep us awake so if you’re a light sleeper this might not be the place for you. I would advise downloading the Go-jek app or you will spend quite a lot on cabs (plus hassle to arrange them in advance going from Bedulu). One thing we hadn’t fully appreciated from the booking is that the cottage is right next to the cookery school and on days when there is a class there is a garden tour at 8.30 and there are other people around for much of the day. If you are looking for more seclusion the Riverside cottage could be a better bet (plus lovely view). Also, unusually for Bali, breakfast is not included so you need to plan ahead if you want to enjoy it on your terrace rather than having to travel to Ubud or a nearby cafe.
Frances and Adi are the best Airbnb hosts we have had. We were shown around the extensive garden/estate, given a history of Bali/Ubud, met their dogs Simba and Como, and even were given some delicious local desserts on our first night. The cabin is situated 5km southeast of Ubud, and is 2.5km from the nearest cafes. The street accessing the Airbnb is very narrow and is unable to use by car if motorbikes are parked along the side, but no problem for a motorbike. The neighborhood is very authentic and there are almost no tourists in it. There are a few roosters on property, and a few more in the neighboring houses. The noises at night are very farm/jungle like: a mixture of roosters, frogs, crickets, birds, and dogs. The cabin itself is a beautiful antique. It has a very serene feel. There are small gaps in the walls/floors in places, and the air conditioner as such is not that efficient. I saw a couple lizards come in and out of the cabin through the walls, and I killed a 5cm spider in the bathroom. The property is situated on a gorgeous river, and 30 steps from the cabin you can take in the sights and sounds, absolutely breathtaking.
This was a very charming and comfortable stay. You can get a real feel for village life here. I did have a scooter which made getting into central Ubud for food and yoga quite easy. It would take me 15 min to scooter and when i walked it was 50 min.
Nice bali style house with modern designed washroom. Adi was so nice to us. The speaker was very good too. Having a wonderful experience here. But the cocks were so noisy in the early morning which earplugs could not help.
一次很特别的体验。体验到了原生的雨林树屋住宿。推荐给每一位喜欢森系的朋友入住。房间整洁干净,房东热情友好。并且还参加了独特的祭祀仪式。希望你能在此体验到不同于城市的住宿体验。
Staying at Tresna witj Adi and Frances was one the best Airbnb experiences I have have had. Firstly you must do the coolng class….that features the beautifully designed kitchen, garden-fresh ingredients that you will learn about in the garden handson , and you will learn in the warmest educational atmosphere these two have created. Staying at Tresna puts you in the heart of Balinese culture, cuisine, & heartfelt hospitality. From the moment you arrive, you’re embraced by a service that is as personal as it is exceptional. From coordinating pickup to providing resources for transport, & places to experience , the care Frances and Adi pour into every detail shines through. Prior to your visit, you’ll receive thoughtful guidance on finding the location, even down to the tricky, narrow lane to walk or have the driver drive down. Their staff is top notch, & the lattes a must to order. The pool is gorgeous. The location serene. I will be back. Oh and the owner is a published author!
Staying with Frances and Adi was just great. Their team is amazing. And the accommodation including the whole surroundings made it so easy to come down and relax. Simply Paradies. It’s super private and the surrounding nature is stunning. Loved the brand new pool and all their helpful recommendations for restaurants. Also we learned about Balinese culture from them! Probably our favourite part about staying with them. Definitely would come back.
One day I return...
Thank you ! Great experience from start to finish
This was a beautiful place to stay, close enough to Ubud downtown but away from all the hustle and bustle. The cabin itself is gorgeous, the bed was comfy. Highlight was definitely the gorgeous pool, and the friendly staff who were around to help with everything, provide daily cleaning, bring coffee etc. The property has 3 beautiful cabins, I would suggest if you are a super light sleeper to go with one of the other two cabins as this one is the closest to the road so can be a bit noisier, however with earplugs I slept fine. Adi and Frances were amazing hosts who were very responsive, and helped organize a visit to the elephant sanctuary which was a highlight of my trip! I am a solo female traveler felt really safe in this neighbourhood, I enjoyed walking around the area, visiting the snack stands and the local cafe (Piduh Charity Cafe). This is a great pick for travellers who want to experience Bali in a more authentic way! I would 100% come back!
They were so kind and hospitality. Every small details are considered by them, The place was also so pretty and peaceful.🥰 Thank you. 🤍
We had a great time at our Tresna Cabin!! Located in a beautiful garden with an infinity pool, this is a great place to stay and relax!! Even though the natural wood of the cabin has some holes, we weren’t bitten by any mosquitos (we did buy two anti-mosquito plugs and used them - just in case)! All in all we 100% recommend staying here and possibly booking a massage with them - so relaxing, we almost fell asleep! 😄
Adi's and Frances' place is such a treat. Tresna is greatly located to visit Ubud and its surroundings. The place is a joy for the eye, immersed in the Balinese forest, far from big street noise. The cabin is wonderfully furnished, the bathroom is so wide that you could live in it. At the end of each busy day, we rested at the pool, which is really relaxing and has a spectacular view on the forest. On top of all this, Adi and the team are the best hosts, taking care of all your needs with kindness and generosity. Thank you so much guys!
Infinity pool! The best!
If you're like me, you're visiting Bali to reflect, rejuvenate, and learn from the 'Island of the Gods'. If so, stop looking for places near chaotic and commercialized city-center, or in foreign-financed five-star hotels. The authenticity of Adi and Frances's home, in a quaint and friendly local neighborhood, is far beyond what five-star hotels can possibly offer. The cabin is situated in a lush and green garden, serenaded by the chirping of birds and river stream. The space artfully marries Balinese design with modernism. The bathroom was so vast and airy with nature view - showering was such a rejuvenating experience. The new pool, OMG - it sits on the edge of the cliff overlooking the stream! The compound is blessed, I mean literally, because Adi and Frances, the power priest/priestess couple, offers prayers around the compound every morning. Also the cooking class is a must - those aromatic flavors...! It's a quick app ride to city-center anyway, so truly, go for authenticity.
From the moment we arrived Adi and Frances were gracious hosts. The cabin was stellar and the pool and surrounding views are unparalleled. It is a little oasis in Ubud. Our favorite part of our stay was their excellent booklet of recommendations — cannot recommend Ibu Susu more highly. We will miss Tresna.
Magnifique séjour chez Adi, qui est toujours disponible et à l’écoute ! Les massages à domicile proposés sont extras, n’hésitez pas à en profiter !!
Lovely stay. It's a beautiful property, with access to a river. The hosts we're also thoughtful enough to put together a guide to make things easy for those staying at the property. Plus, they're also really kind people - they support business that have stood by their staff during difficult times like COVID, which is wonderful. (The only thing I really wish happened during our stay such I miss is being able to pet their dogs)
Adi and Francis were very welcoming hosts. Our little cottage was lovely, spacious and clean. Next time we would stay at one of the river side cabins with jungle vista. The pool was lovely. The highlight of the stay was joining the Tresna Cooking School day. So professionally put together from harvesting the food to hearing stories of Balinese life, prepping and the best bit… eating the meal. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Adi, Frances and their entire team were the epitome of perfect hosts—truly 10/10! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with an incredible welcome that set the tone for our entire stay. The communication was seamless, and their generosity and hospitality were beyond impressive. The cabin was a perfect blend of authenticity and luxury. We were delighted with the delicious coffee and tea in the room, and the bathroom was nothing short of massive, featuring both a luxurious bath and shower. The guidebook provided was full of excellent recommendations for activities and dining options. The staff’s attentiveness to our needs and requests made our stay all the more enjoyable. We loved spending time on-site, whether it was wandering through the beautifully maintained garden, lounging by the warm infinity pool, or taking the 100+ steps down to the private river—a truly magical experience. We cannot recommend staying at Tresna highly enough!!
Adi and Frances are wonderful and friendly. We enjoyed walking to the nearby temples and then spending time in the garden by the pool. We easily ordered in food from Ubud, and Adi and Frances had many great recommendations. Would definitely stay again!
Adi and Frances were wonderful hosts. Always responsive and helpful. As a solo traveler it made me feel very safe and looked after. A beautiful stay in the cabin, nestled in nature and truly a look into the lifestyle of the Balinese village (rooster calls and all!) I loved my stay here. No issues with catching a grab into town. Highly recommend
Nice and comfy place with good location in ubud, the owner was very kind, thanks!
This was such a beautiful clean one bedroom private Jugalo with a giant bathroom and bathtub. The staff was amazing and the pool is brand new overlooking the valley and very private. I would stay here again.
Wonderful place peaceful elegant
Loved the time there! Adi and Frances and their team are very welcoming, nice and considerate. The location couldn’t be more beautiful and relaxing. Loved the cooking class!
We had three nights here in this magical cottage. Me and my sister enjoyed the new pool and the beautiful views. The cabin is very good located, just a short ride away from the buizy city. Walking distance to cozy calm places with good food. It was beautiful to be surrounded by such a lush jungle. Super flexible and helpful staff and hosts! We recommend the massage! Good wifi! It was portable for the times we left the land. Super convenient!
Very nice stay, a beautiful room furnished with taste. Frances and Adi are very welcoming and organised. We recommend 100%.
An absolute gem, exceeded only by the hospitality of hosts Adi & Frances! On a prior trip, we took a fantastic vegan cooking class at the on-site Tresna Bali Cooking School - also a 5-star experience. The Little Wooden Cottage is stunning: warm, luxurious, and beautifully appointed with locally-curated decor. Situated in a peaceful garden oasis, it is the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, but still conveniently located to town. It rivals any 5-star hotel, with the benefit of being a family run operation with the personal touch of hands-on attention to detail. Our 19-yr-old daughter got to stay there on her second trip to Bali and raved about the cottage & amazing husband and wife duo who attend to every detail with loving care. In addition to the wonderful accommodations, she enjoyed the bounty of the abundant garden (serves the cooking school), as well as delicious home-cooked meals. For her, it was like staying with family, & we all can’t wait to return!
We had a magical stay at Adi and Frances' amazing wooden villa. So peaceful and relaxing, exactly what we were looking for. The traditional villa was meticulously moved piece by piece from its previous location, with a massive modern bathroom added and all the things you might need for a relaxing but connected stay (good WiFi, plenty of power sockets, great air con, and a bluetooth speaker). We booked into the cooking class they hold onsite in their purpose-built (indoor and outdoor) kitchen - highly, highly recommend, a truly unique experience! Learning about local customs, picking ingredients from their garden and delicious food :) Staying here and the cooking school were some of the best travel experiences we've ever had. Would highly recommend and can't wait till we get the chance to head back!
Adi and Frances were amazing hosts. Their cottage was one of the best stays I’ve had so far in Bali. Close to ubud and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s a little paradise that you will thoroughly enjoy and it has amazing high quality amenities. A must stay!
I enjoyed my stay here, the house is surrounded by garden and tranquillity. The staff here are friendly and responsive.
This is just like heaven on earth and Adi n his wife Francis are so lovable and serving with heart… Just love the Villa and surrounding.. feel like living in the middle of a heavenly jungle They are one of the nicest hosts I hv ever known.. Blessed n Happy
Off the bat this Little Wooden Cottage was AMAZING. Booking LWC was probably one of the best decisions my partner and I made in regards to the trip. The location, while not being near most of the places we visited, was not too far off from everywhere we wanted to go in Ubud. Not much to say about Little Wooden Cottage beyond it looks (and feels) EXACTLY as advertised. Where the BNB shined the most was with the hosts: Adi & Frances, and their staff. Every single person within the space is accommodating, respectful, and always ready to help. These great qualities are only outshined by their kindness. Truly lovely people, truly lovely place, and thanks to them: truly coming back to stay with them.
The listing is a little hidden in the small streets but the location is great. You are close to Ubud, waterfalls and temples. The interior is well designed and spacious. The bathroom is huge including bath tube and shower. You can access beautiful garden and even the river which is unique. The only minus was the wifi connection which was very slow.
Words cannot describe the beauty of this property. We absolutely loved our stay. Thank you so much.
Everything was so perfect, Adi and Frances have such an attention to detail. They will recommend excellent restaurants in Ubud. If you visit their place I suggest you do one cooking class with them, and one massage with their recommended masseuse Ayu! (best massage I ever had, and I had dozens!) Adi and Frances are wonderful people. The wooden cottage is so lovely. The staff is very professional and helpful and work very well.
It was beautiful! an amazing place to stay in touch with nature. All the staff was extremely nice and kind, I would love to stay here again.
Ottimo alloggio, proprietari gentilissimi e disponibili. Consigliato
We had two amazing nights at this place. We arrived a little early and it was not a problem to drop our luggage there and we even were able to go to our room. We also had the pleasure of a private cooking class and it was truly inspiring and amazing. Adi and his whole crew are so friendly and passionate about their whole place and the well being of their guests. It was just lovely.
Don’t know where to start: the garden is lovely and fabulous, you could walk to the river, the house itself is just like out of a fairytale and the staff is amazing. I am so sad that we have to leave. You have to book the massage that will be done in the own room. One of the best massages I’ve ever had.
Adi, Frances and the team were very friendly and lovely. They are very kind and helpful. The place is serene and clean. Recommend if you are staying in Ubud
Magical, authentic, Balinese hospitality just outside of Ubud! On previous trips to Bali, we stayed at 5-star resorts such as Ayana, Sofitel, and Como Uma Ubud. While those are all luxurious, we found our stay at Adi and Frances' Little Wooden Cottage to be a true experience of village life in Bali, roosters and all... We'd booked for 3 nights but extended our stay for another 3 nights because this antique cottage was so charming and comfortable. Adi and Frances have created a beautiful home away from home where our beds, linens and bathroom surpass those in most hotels. They've paid great attention to small details and their staff, especially Agustin and Tunya are true gems, keeping our cottage spotless. Frances gives a guidebook of amazing Ubud cafes to order from which we enjoyed on our terrace. We also joined their cooking class and learned so much about real Balinese life and the feast we cooked was the best meal we had in all our years coming here. We'll be back!
A very nice cottage , in a silent surrounding by a river . There are two houses - one older the second newer just front onto river and nature. We booked the first older house with beautiful architecture and decor but moved to the new one for more calm and serenity . Both houses are awesome , very comfortable!!!You are based on a traditional village just near to Goa Gajah but not tourist area . There are not restaurants , bars etc nearby . You have to use the scooter . The family ran a very successful cooking school. We liked the stay very much and fully recommend to others .
Adi and Frances are by far the best Airbnb hosts I’ve ever had. And their hand built cottage is truly a dream to stay in. 3 nights wasn’t long enough! It’s even more beautiful than the photos, perfectly clean, and the most peaceful jungle experience you’ll ever have. Their team communicates with you quickly for any addition needs or questions you have. You MUST take one of their cooking classes! Coolest experience in Bali. Can’t recommend this gorgeous place enough, and I will be back many times.
amazing place Great team only recommendations 🤪✨️😌
Adi's place is an off the beaten track gem. Beautifully built wooden huts with impeccable fittings and furnishings. Sophisticated, elegant simplicity surrounded by authentic nature and kind, charming people. Highly recommended. The Tresna school cooking course was a joy. Harvesting ingredients from the garden and learning the original methods of preparation and cooking. My whole family LOVED the experience.
We had a lovely stay. The cottage is right next to a river and is in a very green area. The hosts take extra care for cleanliness and ensure there are no insects and pests in the cottage, despite the weather and green surroundings. They are super responsive and only a message away. The best part of our stay were the recommendations Adi and Frances made - absolute gems for local and fusion food.
The most serene and beautiful place in the jungle of Ubud! Have never been so at peace in an Airbnb in Bali! A great location as well, Ubud easy to reach and still away from all of the hustle. Cannot recommend this place enough for anyone who wants a piece of paradise !! Everything was more than perfect!
Initially we had booked for two nights but as we loved this place so much we decided to stay another night. Frances and Adi made us feel like valued guests and they were easy to communicate with if we needed anything. The location is only a 10 minute ride from the centre of town. The views from the cottage are amazing, I have never experienced anything like it. We would recommend this place to anyone and would 110% stay again!!! Thank you Frances and Adi for such a great few days at the Little Wooden Cottage.
Wow this place was amazing. Frances and Adi are amazing hosts and do all they can to make you feel welcome and help out in every way they can. The room was so beautiful, the hosts and staff were amazing and if you get the opportunity I'd 100% recommend the cooking class they do also, that was so awesome to see the culture and feel like you're getting involved every step of the way. Honestly it was by far the best accommodation I've had in Bali and I'll definitely be back.
Adi & Frances was thoughtful, warm & kind. Made us so comfy while&before even we stay at their cottage. They were so well communicated, open minded. The most important thing is that this place is really peaceful that is perfect for your vacation. This is a very nice that its not exactly located on Ubud center area(just 5-10min from there) that means the place is so quite&peaceful! We really enjoyed staying and their guide book is just so helpful. You don't even have to prepare any detail. Adi&Frances has the perfect guide book! I definitely would like to stay here again for sure!! Plus, they have a garden which is full of beautiful trees and flowers but the place was so neat and clean we barely find the bugs inside the house. So if you are worrying about the bugs, their house is so tidy that the bugs can't come in : )
Great spot if you want to get away from it all. Nestled in a local neighbourhood. You will hear roosters doing their morning calls and the sounds of the jungle around you.
Frances and Adi are two of the most genuine and considerate people I’ve met. They put a lot of thoughts into their organic garden and the two beautiful cottages next to their cooking school. The cottage is a little outside of Ubud center in a quiet and authentic neighborhood, but it’s very easy to get into town by using grab. And with about 10 minutes walking there are two cafes. One is Buddha Garden Warung next to elephant cave and the other is Yeh Pulu cafe at Yeh Pulu temple. Both offer amazing views and nice food and drinks. If you like massages don’t forget to ask Frances and Adi to arrange one during your stay. The staff will set up a massage bed inside the cottage. I absolutely enjoyed every single minute of my massage session with Ayu, their massage therapist, she is just wonderful. Another highlight of staying here is their cooking class! I had so much fun learning from these amazing people. Most of the ingredients we used were from their garden. They were super fresh and healthy and the dishes we made were sooo delicious. If you want a beautiful house with warm hearted hosts and a peaceful neighborhood, look no further, you’ll find everything you need here. Thank you Frances, Adi, Santi and the whole team at Tresna Bali. You are the best!
If you're looking for something different, yet extremely comfortable, you might want to stay a couple of nights in the most gorgeous Little Wooden Cottage. It's an antique Javanese cottage that was transported and rebuilt in Bali, with the addition of a gorgeous bathroom. The extra touches of a bluetooth speaker, great wifi, and hosts that are super-friendly, caring and very interesting makes this place a special haven. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay - and the cooking class I did there too!
We had a great time at the villa, the space is amazing. Very inspiring and cosy. Adi, Frances & Santi make you feel at home and the staff is super friendly and meticulous. The space is really clean and well curated with really good books that we enjoyed reading. Overall a hearty experience, and we will be back for sure!
Awesome place and Frances and Adi seem to really care about developing the Bali tourist scene with an amazing addition to the already stunning island. We got a great upgrade upon arrival and a tour of their amazing property. Bummed we didn’t get to do the cooking class but that sounds like it’s up and running soon. Easiest 5 stars I’ve ever given.
Tresna Bali is truly a picturesque and tranquil sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Adi and Frances made us feel warm and welcome, from helping arrange transport to providing ideas for local exploration — their hospitality is something that really this trip apart from other travels in helping us establishing a feeling of personal connection to place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Adi and frances are really amazing people.. they always have a smile on their face and are always ready to help for anything u want.. just ask and they will get it done.. their place is just out of the world, surrounded by a wonderful garden and u get a private river all to yourself.. although we dint trek all the way down the view from above was amazing too.. dont think twice before booking.. i wish we had some more days to spend with u guys.. thanx for helping us make our trip memorable.. hope to see u soon
We had an amazing stay at the cottage. The other reviews already went in depth about what is great about staying there, and there is nothing to add! If you go there, you must do the cooking class, it was also one of the highlight of our 2.5 weeks trip for us. Frances and Adi are truly wonderful people, full of warmth and who truly care for their guests. You can tell its a vocation for them. As others have written, and even though it seems self-explanatory given the name of the listing, just be aware that the location is outside of the city center, but fairly close and easily accessible with local transport. Also, there will be little animals and critters around! We are in the woods after all. We were particularly fond of their dog Komo, who we think is the cutest dog ever. We would happily go back, I think that overall it has been one of my most satisfactory AirBnB experience. Could not recommend higher.
Adi and Frances have an amazing lovely home. It was stylish, clean, situated near the city center but far enough to feel peaceful. They run a fantastic cooking school next door which I highly encourage you to take a class out. They're both warm hosts who truly go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience. I loved my stay and would go back in a heartbeat!
Frantic and Adi were the perfect hosts. Extremely communicative and gracious, they left us feeling that we were taken care of and that there was someone we could turn too if we needed something. From providing an extremely reliable taxi driver, to going above and beyond with an airport pickup, Francis and Adi have set the bar for hospitality. The villa they provided was comfortable, spacious and inspiring. The bed was one of the comfiest we have slept in and the bathroom makes you feel you could spend all morning (or evening) in the bathtub. The villa is on the same compound as their cooking school, which means that right outside your door is an extremely diverse and cared for garden, full of fruits, edible plants, and palm trees. Also, if you choose to take a cooking lesson (which we highly recommend!) it’s literally a 30 second walk to your classroom! However, the true joy of staying there were the extra touches. When we opted to switch from a bicycle trip to a Motorcycle trip, Francis and Adi made it possible by providing help that we could find nowhere else. From allowing us to store our bicycles at their villa to helping sort out payment for the motorcycle, they were indispensable in ensuring that our vacation ran smoothly! I can’t recommend staying here enough.
Great place, quiet away from city.
Adi and Frances left such a wonderful impression on my husband and I our first time traveling to Bali 6 months ago, we couldn’t help but return a second time this year to their immaculate and tranquil wooden cottage. We have stayed in other Airbnb’s and resorts in Bali which were nice, however, if you are wanting an authentic, clean, and peaceful home to stay, look no further. The cottage has very tasteful decor, with clean, updated amenities and an extremely comfortable bed. It was so relaxing to hear the sounds of nature during our stay. Every time we returned, our room was always cleaned and stocked with more water and towels. Adi and Frances treated us as if we were family and were so accommodating in every way. Frances and Adi know all best restaurants, spas, outings, and places to shop for handcrafted items. We LOVE the therapist that comes directly to the cottage where the staff sets up a massage bed within the room. Frances went above and beyond and even booked restaurants for us and let us know about a reservation website that saved us 50% off our dinner. The highlight of our trip was their cooking school, where we were able to hand pick organic ingredients from their garden and create a traditional Balinese feast. Adi and Frances had us laughing the whole time and the food was incredible. During our entire stay, Adi and Frances always took time out of their day to make sure we were comfortable. Thank you Adi, Frances, and staff for your unmatched hospitality, generosity, and warmth. Additional note about construction: Frances informed us that there would-be construction work during the day on the adjacent property, however we didn’t even notice that they were there. Noise was not an issue whatsoever.
Staying with Frances and Adi was the perfect start to my first trip to Bali. The location was so serene and beautiful - their organic garden and river leading down from their place filled me with a sense of awe and wonder. Frances and Adi are a loving and warm couple who made me feel like more than a guest to their home. As a couple, they are a perfect example of someone who fell in love with Bali and made it their adopted home (Frances) and the warmth and generosity of spirit of the Balinese people (Adi). They made sure my stay was seamless and even gave me a taste of their life as holy-people by walking me through their morning ritual of providing offerings to the gods on their property. This was above and beyond what I have come to expect from Airbnb and I hope to return to their home in the future. My only regret is not taking a class at their cooking school which I hope to do on my next trip to Bali. Thanks Frances, Adi and Shanti!
Adi and Frances' place is an extraordinary find. Truly, their hospitality goes unmatched for any airbnb stay I have had. The little wood cottage is well-equipped with everything you'll need, gorgeous accents and wood details, and a bathroom (and bathtub) that feels like it's straight out of a magazine. I had the pleasure of attending one of the Tresna Bali Cooking school's cooking classes (two steps from the cottage) and it was a half-day so well spent ~ and I made some new friends! There is also a river on the property - it's a steep access with stairs down to the river bank, but so worth it to have your own private river walk in the mornings or to cool off in the heat of the afternoons. Adi and Frances went out of their way to make me feel accommodated and welcome in the cottage as a home for four nights ~ and I greatly enjoyed a visit to the Tirta Empul water temple with them. Cannot recommend the cottage or Adi and Frances more as hosts! Many thanks! I will be back. :)
Adi and Frances’ Little Wooden Cottage is special. It’s a truly unique experience - old world rustic charm matched with luxurious chic design and amenities. The bed and bedding was very comfortable and good quality. The breakfasts were delicious - especially the passion fruit and the cooking class that they host is a must-do!! It was a highlight of our trip and I’ll be dreaming of that food for months to come. Every ingredient was incredibly fresh (picked from their organic garden) and every dish was mouthwatering in its flavour. Still salivating from that meal! The best part of the whole experience though was the warmth and friendliness of the people - Adi, Frances and their whole team. A special shout-out to Agustin - she is such a kind soul and she made my Mom and I feel so at home from the moment we arrived.
This place was everything and the tips that Frances and Adi provided made our stay much better. The wooden cottage exceeded our expectations. The small touches like doing laundry for a small fee were wonderful. We had the massages in the cottage and they were well received after 2 days of travel. Our hosts were warm and engaging. Just make sure that your driver or you understands that the turn to the cooking school is really narrow and tight and that they can go down the road to the school and there is no signage off of the main road. But the drivers can interact your in case they We downloaded the Grab app and easily found drivers who would take is into UBUD village. We highly recommend this beautiful space.
I absolutely loved my time at the little wooden cottage! It’s beautifully decorated and I enjoyed having coffee on the porch every morning. The property is gorgeous and it even has access to a river down below which is so peaceful. Adi and Frances are excellent hosts and will make you feel right at home. They also have excellent recommendations for restaurants and places to visit so definitely use them as a resource! Also I highly recommend to try out their cooking class (Tresna cooking school) while you’re there. One thing to be aware of is that in order to reach the compound, there’s a very narrow alleyway that some drivers won’t be willing to go down. Luckily there’s a driver in the neighborhood who is usually available or can help you find someone. If you drive a motorbike, this won’t be an issue at all!
Hands down the best Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. Frances, Adi and their team made our trip super special and the cottage is beyond our expectations, the bed is comfortable and we have everything we need. Do not miss out on the cooking class, it was so much fun and we learned a lot about Balinese culture. The food in the cooking class was amazing, better than a lot of restaurants in Bali! The communication with Frances and Adi was super easy, they were so helpful and just the loveliest people :) we will definitely come back! X
The place is adorable and looks much much better than the pictures. It is very spacious and clean. When you are lying on the bed you feel like in a fairy tale
Simply put, our stay at Adi and Frances's cottage was the highlight of our month in Bali. If you travel to connect with a place and its people, this is a must as a destination. Their passion for helping one find such a connection comes through on every level, from their hands-on cooking class which includes selecting organic and lovingly grown ingredients from the beautiful garden, to preparing a memorable feast...to a walk down hand-lain steps to a private spot on the rushing river, to suggestions of unique day trips in the area as well as a wonderful, trusted driver...the list goes on and on. It is unfathomable to think of what our trip would have been missing without the TLC and connections we have so fortunately gained by our stay here. This is a magical place.
This spot is perfect for a romantic getaway in Ubud. The place is comfortable, well equipped and in the most peaceful setting with a garden and access to the river. It is easy to get into Ubud and the host offered to help with finding a driver when needed! I highly recommend taking the cooking class (offered several days of week).
Amazing place. Extraordinary accommodations. Comfy bed. Large shower and bathroom. Well cooled and fast internet.(4G) A book is provided with extra helpful tips on all the best food around. Frances and Adi are very helpful host. They were able to book drivers and make reservations at all the best spots making the stay a worry free joy. Best host I've ever had! The cooking class they have is also out of this world. Delicious fresh ingredients straight from the garden all mixed masterfully to create traditional Balinese dishes. It's rare that this location is open so if you get a chance try it out, you won't regret it!
The moment we arrived at the little cottage we knew we were in a special place. Adi and Frances treated us like family and made us feel like we were at home. They had arranged a private masseuse for us (who was so amazing we booked her three nights in a row lol), built a bonfire where we roasted marshmallows, and made us fresh fruit and delicious Balinese coffee and tea for breakfast. We truly felt spoiled in every way! However, besides the beauty of their property and their incredible staff, it was their genuine warmth and kindness that made our stay in Bali unforgettable. Our only regret was not planning our itinerary better so we could attend their cooking class. Their cooking school is both incredibly stylish and a unique gem in the jungles of Ubud. We are already planning our next trip back! Thank you for everything Frances and Adi what you’ve built has completely inspired us.
An absolutely gorgeous stay in the countryside of Ubud. Adi and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was clean, comfortable, and memorable. The moment we checked in we were greeted by staff that gave us a tour of the cottage and all its amenities. Adi helped us arrange for a day-long driver on short notice and provided a handbook full of suggestions for things to do while in Ubud. The cottage itself is wonderfully cozy and has that outdoorsy feel to it while still being outfitted with all your modern amenities - A/C, WiFi, reading lights, a speaker for music, a mini fridge, etc. I loved our stay and I will definitely be seeking out this place for my next visit to Bali.
Wow! This place is such a gem in Ubud. We decided to stay here after we found out they have a cooking class on the property and it did not disappoint. Even though they’re in a location that isn’t super busy, we appreciated the tucked away property. We awoke by roosters every morning but at night it is very peaceful. The trail down to the river is easy to take and so peaceful. The hospitality is the staff was amazing from how clean our room was when we arrived and every day after and the laundry service they offer. If you’re booking this place, don’t hesitate to book the cooking class, you won’t be disappointed!
From the moment we arrived Adi and Frances made us feel so welcome. Their place is like staying in a luxury five star hotel but just for two! The little cottage is immaculate and beautifully decorated. The bathroom and the bed are massive which made it feel like a real treat. The gardens are absolutely stunning and so relaxing. It is a little out of the centre of Ubud but we were so happy every evening to be heading back to our little escape! Adi and Frances helped sort out taxis every day so it was easy to get around anyway. We did the cooking class and it was definitely one of our favourite activities in Bali. Adi and Frances put a lot of effort into making it an extremely memorable experience. Thank you for everything! Anna and Sam
This was our most memorable Airbnb stays! It is a true true gem. Adi and Frances are so welcoming and we’ve never felt more at home at an Airbnb. The place is absolutely beautiful, a cottage of complete peace set in a beautiful garden setting. The wood carving details of the place, truly incredible washroom (including great bath!), comfy bed and wonderful patio overlooking the garden - make it something very special. Their cooking school was some of the best moments of our many month trip. An incredible look into Balinese tradition, with a wonderful teacher, helpful staff and delicious delicious food!!! We cannot recommend this place enough!
It's hard to put into words just how exceptional a stay at Adi and Frances' little wooden hut is. It's so much more than a hut. It's a luxurious accommodation furnished to an extremely high standard, set in a peaceful and quiet garden right by the river just outside of Ubud. A stay here gave us a unique insight into Balinese life and culture. You will need a taxi to and from Ubud which Adi and Frances helped us organise each day. We would definitely encourage exploring the village and its sights. The whole team managed to be both available while also being discreet making it feel very private. The hut itself has all the amenities you will need including air con, tea, coffee and beers, speaker for music and wifi. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious. We did the vegan cooking class which exceeded all expectations- probably the best food we have eaten in a very long time. Adi and Frances are generous and thoughtful hosts and their team are hard working and patient-nothing was too much trouble. They made our first trip to Bali unforgettable. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.
The place is amazing, but moreover Adi’s hospitality was beyond expectations. One of the best experiences I ever had!
Absolutely beautiful little cottage, traditional style, but with a modern refined twist. A beautiful balance. The cooking school will teach you how to make BEAUTIFUL food, highly recommend joining a class. Would stay again
Adi and Frances are fabulous hosts. They went out of their way to be accommodating with their on site cooking class, tour of the temples and acting as a travel agent for our last day when we couldn't decide what to do. The food here is delicious and the garden serene. If you want to go into town it's a bit of a hike but France and Adi were happy to help schedule rides. We couldn't have asked for a better end to our travels.
Very well maintained and clean place, comfortable to stay in, looks just like pictures and experience beyond words :) Adi Frances and their staff are always there for you if you need anything, and thoughtful little touches that makes the stay so much more pleasant! We couldn’t bear to leave and would definitely stay here again if there’s an opportunity! Love the cooking class too!
Adi and Fransice and Shanti are charming. They make you feel so welcome. The atmosphere is perfect for those who want to enjoy piece. The bed is so comfortable that you fly immediately asleep. The property is surrounded by beautiful nature and the river is just down the stairs. I recommend everyone who needs love or is full of it stay at these incredible place. Everything is in detail, the place is unique.
Frances and Adi are absolutely amazing. From the warm welcome to the beautiful cooking class. We had such a great experience at the little Cottage (witch is so beautifully decorated and surrounded by nature). Key poit of the place is the cooking class A MUST!!! Probably the only place in Bali where you can cook and taste real ceremonial food since Adi is the Temple's King and Frances the Princes (if you don't understand this part Google it ;)) only minus id the supper narrow road to get there where few taxi drivers struggled to get in. A part from that lots of love to this great couple and this fantastic place!!!
Everything is good! Very amazing exprience and good environment! Frances and Adi are very welcoming and helpful. And the cottage is very clean and tidy. We would highly recommend people to try the cooking class in their Tresna Bali Cooking School to learn about the local life and delicious Balinese cuisine.
This is a very special place. Adi and Frances are outstanding hosts, who are happy to share tips about the area. They also make great breakfast, and if you are into cooking you will also enjoy their cooking classes. The place is wonderful - enjoy the peaceful nature around!
It was super amazing experience in my life in bali. The house was Very clean and antique. There are cooking class house right next to the bnb house and there are 2+ servers all the time so it is very safe and helpful. Dont forget to try cooking class here. I assure that it is a perfect airbnb house in Bali.
This place was absolutely WONDERFUL. I cannot express what an amazing time I had here. They have an extensive garden with fruit trees galore, leading to an actual river that you can use as your own safe haven. It is nothing short of beautiful. Frances is such a joy, and Adi is the most helpful and attentive host ever. I don’t go back to places twice but this is definitely a contender. It is about 10 minutes from ubud centre, but once I got there that literally didn’t matter to me with how nice the place is. It can get rather noisy at night due to the natural surroundings, crickets etc but again was totally worth it for the experience of such a cosy, beautiful Balinese cottage. I put my ear plugs in and was happy to roll with it. It is nothing short of wonderful. They also provide a portable WiFi modem - BEST THING EVER. I love this place, I love Frances and Adi. You will not be disappointed.
I've stayed in over 50 Airbnb's. Frances and Adi were the most attentive and paying attention to detail hosts I've ever had. The overall experience was perfect. Everything about the room was top notch. The bed was 5 star standards and room amenities were highly luxurious. They cook you breakfast themselves and you can tell by the quality that they put the care into it. We took their cooking class and we enjoyed it very much and learned a lot of tricks and tips along the way and we highly recommend it. overall the experience was a dream and we'll return on our next Bali adventure
It was such a joy to stay at the little riverside cottage. Frances, Adi and Santi provide a haven away from the hustle and bustle and crazy of Ubud, and it is just wonderful. I could have lazed in the cottage for another week. Frances and Adi did everything to make sure I was comfortable, from organizing a trip to the rice fields, to making sure I wasn’t stranded in central Ubud, to inviting me to join them (and other friends) at a personal thanksgiving lunch. They made my short stay so, so sweet. You truly are a special family. Looking forward to coming back to Bali, I would love to stay at the cottage again, and would look forward to scooting all around Ubud (and further next time)!
We spent 3 days at the Little Wooden Cottage. Frances , Adi and their daughter Santi are amazing hosts that provide everything you need to have a unique experience. Whether it’s their insight of local history into the Balinese lifestyle and their love of food.😋 The cottage is magical with modern Balinese design elements nestled into to the beautiful lush setting of their property, with a walkable garden that leads down to the exotic riverside. A photographers paradise! The bed is extremely comfortable and the bathroom facilities match that of any luxury hotel. The breakfasts were always great with fresh fruits and delicious mains. And the coffee...ahhhh the coffee....we have purchased bags to take home 😋 Lastly, Tresna Cooking School is a must! whether you are a novice or an experienced chef to learn Balinese cooking in their gorgeous professional kitchen! We hope to see you again soon! Gary and Jonelle
I had an amazing stay at The Little Wooden Cottage. You can feel and see all the love, care, and thought they have put into building The Little Wooden Cottage and their business. The cottage is actually quite spacious with a shower, bathtub, large bed, sofa, desk, as well as a porch outside. The food is super delicious and garden fresh (also do take their cooking class!!) They keep the place immaculate and I love that the environment around is still very natural. This was an unforgettable experience and I learned so much about Balinese life and culture - highly recommended!!
I've been to Bali several times, and the wooden cottage is the most authentic -- and luxurious -- place to stay in Ubud! Frances and Adi treated me like family and delivered 5-star hospitality service. The wooden cottage, the cooking school, and the garden are clean and lovingly cared for. I woke up to the sounds of nature, smelled (and enjoyed) fresh fruit from the garden, and learned fun facts like how the Balinese climb up the coconut trees. The wooden cottage was authentically Balinese with modern amenities. I slept well due to the bed, fan, and A/C and the bathroom is beautiful. During my stay, I chose the masseuse service and joined their Balinese cooking class which is the best in Ubud! I learned SO MUCH about Balinese food, culture and history. If you ever have questions or need a local recommendation, Frances and Adi are the best resources you could ask for in Bali!
Frances, Adi, and Santi made us feel at home immediately. We learned more about the culture of Bali with our two days/nights with them than our entire trip. Their home and hospitality are second to none, and we look forward to going to stay with them again asap! :) Our favorite stay in Bali.
If you get a chance to stay at the little wooden cottage you won't regret it. It's a beautiful piece of luxury on the most peaceful plot of land. Comfortable amenities, spacious bathroom, good air conditioner. The cottage is surrounded by luscious gardens, a flowing river and steps away from the best cooking school in Bali. Adi and Frances are amazing and interesting people who leave you wanting for nothing. We were sad to leave!
If you are a solo female traveler or just lover of food and travel then the villa at Frances and Adi’s home is absolutely amazing. Their cooking school is also spectacular and if you do anything at all in the ubud are you MUST attend a cooking class at Tresna Bali cooking school. Frances and her family go above and beyond any hosts I’ve ever had using air bnb and you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for an amazing time and stay at the amazing Tresna villa and cooking school in Bali, Indonesia.
I traveled with my 3 year old niece, got so lucky with this tranquil & beautiful spot in Ubud. The little Woden cottage was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, modern bathroom with Balinese architecture was perfect for my little niece and myself. Amazing & friendly host and staff made my stay even more memorable.
