Exploring Villa Kalisha - Escape into Nature. Inc. Cook left me utterly unimpressed. This presentation felt like a flashy waste of time: all clicking and spinning, with none of the straightforward clarity I wanted. Zero stars for this browsing experience.

The virtual preview of Villa Kalisha - Escape into Nature. Inc. Cook was maddening. I wanted a simple overview for my Ubud plans, but the whole experience felt overcomplicated and exhausting. I would rather close the tab than wrestle with another scene.

I found the tour for Villa Kalisha - Escape into Nature. Inc. Cook painfully tedious. The presentation tries far too hard to impress, and for me it falls completely flat. More spectacle than useful browsing; absolutely not my idea of a helpful preview.

The location is not in Ubud, pretty far from it, about 20 minutes drive into the jungle. It was difficult to find as the villa is hidden away a couple minutes walk behind a rice field. If you are looking for a jungle experience away from everything its the place to go, the views outside are gorgeous, however i wouldn't describe it as luxury. There was no hot water, internet connection was poor, the doors don't close properly when locked, expect to find ants and geckos all over the place.

La Villa Kalisha est conforme aux photos et offre un cadre agréable, au calme et à l’écart de la foule. La maison est bien équipée et permet de profiter pleinement du séjour. Toutefois, la présence constante du personnel a fortement nui à notre expérience. Les allers-retours fréquents, parfois sans même sonner, rendent l’intimité difficile. Nous avions davantage l’impression d’être chez l’habitant que dans une location indépendante. Nous avons aussi préféré faire appel à des chauffeurs et guides locaux, plus abordables. L’excursion proposée au Mont Batur était facturée environ deux fois le prix du marché, sans prestations équivalentes. Le petit-déjeuner sur place est également plus cher et moins qualitatif que dans les restaurants voisins. La maison conviendra sans doute mieux à une famille qu’à un couple en quête d’indépendance. Nous étions soulagés de partir pour Uluwatu (où tout a été parfait) Dommage, car le lieu a beaucoup de potentiel.

The staff was absolutely phenomenal. They were so sweet and attentive and cared deeply about their job. The problem is the actual house, not the staff. There is no AC (and incredible heat), mosquitos galore, and lizards, and both problems could be fixed with the AC. For a family that is looking for complete privacy, this is a good place. Still, for a family that is looking for a vacation surrounded by busy streets/things to do/places to eat, this might not be the best place -- but of course, my family should have planned things a little better before picking this place, so the location issue is on us. We are vegetarian and so we did not find many suitable options in the staff's food that they prepare (but I'm sure it's good) but we were also surprised by the high prices (about 60,000 RP for breakfast per person, and the price increases for other meals). Pros: great staff, spacious house, beautiful scenery, comfortable beds, good WiFi. Cons: no AC, mosquitos, lizards.

We stayed in the villa with our 3 kids. We checked in in the late evening when everything was dark. The entrance to the villa was one of the craziest we ever saw. We needed to walk through rice fields which were lighten'd up. Nicely done! The villa itself is probably one of the best locations in Ubud. You are surrounded by nature, nature and nature! The villa manager was absent (for funeral of mother) during our stay which made the communication a bit difficult. This was the downside of our stay because we had some miscommunication when we booked trips and food requests. In the end we had a good holiday. If you are a nature lover you will surely appreciate this villa.

Wir hatten eine gute Woche in der Villa Kalisha. Fernab von Lärm und Hektik Ubuds ist dies eine ruhige, friedliche Oase mitten im Dschungel. Für uns ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um außergewöhnliche Restaurants in der Gegend zu besuchen.

We had a real relaxing time in this villa.

Daughter and I had a nice time. Being in the jungle was beautiful and peaceful. Nyos, Auntie, and Made were super nice. If visiting and you have food allergies, be super vocal. The caretakers do speak English but I told them I was allergic to coconut and they served me breakfast yogurt with coconut the next day. I was not charged for the breakfast since I couldn't eat it, which I appreciated .The upstairs restroom does not have hot water but the downstairs did. Getting to and from the villa was simple short walk. Grab drivers were familiar with the area.

Lovely Villa in a very peaceful location with super lovely staff

We absolutely loved our stay however it was not disclosed that the property is not near a street, we had to walk a very narrow path on the rice fields which got us very uncomfortable, specially at night. The house is well kept but basic maintenance needs to be done, also it has a lot of mold which caused us a lot of allergies. Staff was very friendly but present at all times which limited our privacy.

The property is great and in the midst of the jungle with no disturbance, the artistic touch and wooden finish is great for someone wanting to stay indoors The only downside is that the villa is accessible through a walk by the paddy fields which isn’t the best during night. Also it’s quite secluded from the city and shops so one needs to go prepared with whatever you need. However, there are 3 housekeepers on the ground who will prepare food and provide you anything that you want Overall a good stay and secluded to get the peace needed.

Nous avons passé 3 nuits à la villa surplombant la jungle. Le lieu n'est pas ordinaire, la vue est incroyable, on est en totale immersion dans la nature. L'emplacement est intéressant car éloigné d'ubud(25 mns en voiture) , il est malgré tout possible de trouver restaurants à proximité. La villa est immense avec des hauteurs sous plafonds très hautes, l'humidité est présente(nous y étions au mois de février). L'équipe en place est charmante.

Напишу сразу о минусах. Для нас самый большой минус это холодный бассейн, он действительно очень холодный, мы ездили в клаб что бы ребенок мог накупаться. Нет шумо изоляции, если идет дождь очень шумно, ящерицы в доме живут и ночью мешают спать… Такси почему то не идет к дому, видимо такая у них договоренность, они вызывают своих водителей, берут цену сверху и это получается дороже. Нечестно. Мне это очень не понравилось, особенно в день выселения нам надо было в аэропорт, полет 20 часов. Мы рассчитывали на поздний чек аут, но заселялись другие и нас попросили покинуть виллу в 12.00 предупредив об этом незадолго. Хорошо, тогда ваш таксист пусть будет с нами мы посидим в ресторане, у нас были 3 часа которые мы вместо отдыха отсиживали в ресторане, и таксист который и так был дороже чем обычно на Бали, попросил еще денег. Хотя за 500к рупий другой водитель был с нами целый день. Вообщем поступили очень не красиво. вилла старинная, вид на джунгли, персонал приятный, им спасибо!

We had a wonderful stay at the villa Kalisha. We had a wonderful time. The villa itself is fenomenal, what a view! Very Instafriendly! The staff also. The most caring, compassionate staff we’ve ever met. Including the driver, Dougie. They sure made our stay more comfortable!

Nice place, in unique private settings 20 minutes outside Ubud. Staff was very friendly and catered to the needs we had. Good for two couples traveling together.

Let me start with the conclusion – Villa Kalisha is a nice place, we enjoyed our stay there and it is worth visiting. But it is quite a specific experience so it is important that you know what you will get when you arrive. The Positives -An absolutely awesome location, on a hill overlooking a valley with rice fields and jungle -The views from both bedrooms are lovely -Total peace and quiet (apart from the jungle chorus – cicadas and fogs) -Really lovely staff who genuinely try hard to make your stay pleasant -The giant copper bath in the main bedroom and wood bath in the 2nd bed room are unique -The hosts were nice and accommodating over the phone and email, we did not see them, I think they live in Thailand. The negatives -The flip side of the great location is that it is miles from anywhere – so you need transport -The place is “modern” architecture unit (rather than traditional Balinese) -The fit-out is a bit old and tiered – it needs a refit (eg the aluminum doors and windows are past it, the wooden decking is rotten in places) -It is essentially a 2 bedroom unit, although there is lots of room on sofas in common areas -The open air bathroom concept is not great for anyone scared of creepy crawlies or bats flying around while you have a bath/shower So, providing you go expecting something more on the rustic "close to nature" side, and you want peace, solitude and tranquility, you will have an amazing time at Villa Kalisha

Villa Kalisha is quite a remarkable villa, unlike anywhere I have stayed before. The location is it's biggest selling point with incredible views throughout the property and if you're looking for a peaceful break then this is definitely the ideal villa. Rene and her team were amazing in the lead up to and during our arrival. They were very detailed and helpful in terms of what we needed to do and the staff were so lovely when we arrived. The villa team including Nyos the Villa Manager are just lovely - so kind and welcoming, they really did help us to have a very enjoyable stay. The food that can be prepared by the team is delicious and very good value. We really enjoyed the breakfast (included), snacks at lunch and a delicious dinner on the first night. My only small flag would be that due to the tropical nature of the environment, the villa has experienced a bit of wear and tear - this is totally understandable (particularly in such a location) - but it should maybe be flagged on AirBnB or at least have more recent imagery to reflect that. They do have their own website for the villa and they clearly state that there (they even have a pros and cons list for guests considering to book which I think is so helpful and transparent of them) but maybe it should also be included on the AirBnB profile. That said however, I understand that they are soon going to be refurbishing the property so I'm sure this will no longer be relevant(!) and the villa will be even more beautiful. It really didn't affect our stay and we very much enjoyed the special villa, the wonderful team and really helpful hosts. Thank you Rene and your wonderful team!x

What a cool house just off the main road! Completely secluded. The staff is amazing and Wayan is a great driver to take you to all the hotspots on the island. Would definitely come back again for some R&R.

Not a bad experience. The house was much spacious than you see in the pictures and also with a good-taste design though it will bring out cleanness problem. And Ubud is so cool that it makes impossible to have fun in the swimming pool at nights. Big pity! The last of all, the location! Really far and hidden, not convenient to take a walk around Ubud.

The villa is in a stunning location and the walk to the villa across the rice fields is very nice. The staff are friendly and make very nice local food. Pool and bedrooms all very good. It is a distance from Ubud which adds to the expense but for us it was worth it to be in such a location. Two points to improve; Fresh juice would be a really welcome addition at breakfast time. The glass and some windows around the villa need a good clean. If you are looking to stay in a special location and be away from the crowds then this is a good place to select.

Magical place ... The walk through the rice fields to get to the villa completely hidden away from the street revealing the most spectacular view into the jungle. It is a real experience, the outdoor bathrooms looking out into nature and really spacious bedrooms. The terrace is beautiful and a treat to roll out my yoga mat and discover something beautiful any angle I turned. We were on a family vacation with child and dad,and everyone loved it. The pool is gorgeous, and my son made friends immediately with the very lovely staff Made ,Wayan and Nyos! It is much cooler up at the villa than in the town centre,as its in the mountains and covered by trees,so it was quite chilly at the time we went- jumper and socks needed... Breakfast is lovely and One night we had dinner cooked at the villa and it is was delicious. It would have been perfection if good coffee was available but I guess I am spoilt so the Indonesian filter coffee had to do! We rented scooters,organised efficiently by the villa manager . It is quite a way by scooters into Ubud centre(20 mins) and super narrow windy roads, so especially on the way back in the dark a little scary. By taxi much more relaxing;) Thank you very much for a super stay!

穿过稻田的时候真的很紧张 不知道呈现在眼前的是不是个惊喜 房子很大 view也很好 但无奈蚊虫太多了 因为房子是在林间所以能接受蚊虫多的事实 工作人员都十分nice 离开的时候还和他们合照 早餐也很赞哈哈哈哈 满分

We just had a wonderful 4-day stay at the Villa Kalisha; it's extremely private, very quiet, in a beautiful corner of Bali. The hosts and their staff were excellent from our first communication all the way through our departure; we felt very welcome at all points. If you are looking for a place that's off the beaten path, but has natural beauty and a well-run staff, this is the place for you!

Nyos and team gave us a lovely welcome, even though we arrived very late at night. They were kind and helpful throughout the whole stay and helped with all aspects of life (getting around, cash, medicine, day trips e.g.). The villa is really a secluded happy-place on earth. Lovely set in the jungle with luxurious bath- and bedrooms, a refreshing pool and a great staff! Thanks again for the villa team making this a unique experience within our Bali vacation!

We had the most incredible stay at this villa. The location is absolutely stunning!! totally tucked away in the jungle with the most beautiful views and a gorgeous pool. It was peaceful, private, and felt like a true Bali experience. The highlight of our stay was definitely the staff. Nyos, Made, and the two Wayans were beyond amazing. They treated us like family from the moment we arrived and were always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They were so accommodating whenever our plans changed and we needed to adjust meal times, which happened more than once! The food was absolutely delicious at every meal, and it was such a treat coming back to a freshly made bed every morning and evening. The level of care and attention they put into everything made our stay unforgettable. We genuinely can’t recommend this villa enough. Between the beautiful property and the incredible staff, it was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. We would come back in a heartbeat 💗

Wow what a holiday! We loved every second of our stay at Villa Kalisha. The staff were so kind and exceptional, and Jana took us to some fantastic places off the beaten track. The villa was beyond beautiful. I’m not sure there are even words to describe the experience. The staff - was 10/10. Madé and the whole team were fantastic. Truly an experience I hope so many people get to experience. 10/10 would recommend!

Villa Kalisha is an exceptional place, secluded and serene, clinging to the side of the river gorge where there is a constant parade of birds,and surrounded by tall trees providing cooling shade. Such a lovely surprise to walk through a path a couple of hundred metres long through the rice fields to suddenly arrive at this stunning location. The house is spacious and comfortable with a great layout for two couples, and with so many outdoor tables and chairs to choose from. The kitchen benches are hard to clean, I think the detergent was of poor quality or watered down and the benches always felt a bit greasy. Also greasy finger prints on kitchen cupboard doors hard to get rid of. The temperature at Villa Kalisha was several degrees cooler than in Ubud, and with cooling breezes that made it so pleasant. The swimming pool is magnificent but could have been one degree warmer 😭 Lying on the daybeds on the deck beside the pool looking into the gorge was divine, the daybeds need fixing.

Beautiful views in a relaxing space, a bit remote and limited food options

Great stay, felt like a “trip of a lifetime” to stay in “jungle luxury”. Just keep in mind you’re a guest of nature, not the other way around. There will be noises, bugs, etc. that come with being in a jungle! The staff were great and accommodated every request, including going above and beyond for a birthday celebration. Highly recommend!

Best villa to stay at if you’re traveling to Ubud!! The staff made my birthday 10 times better. The views were impeccable! Please book this villa. Also try the pool side bbq 100/10. From the walk up to the villa to being inside feels so surreal. You’ll see a beautiful green rice field before entering and then once you’ve arrived you’ll walk right into the views of the beautiful jungle. The staff was well attentive and always made sure I had everything I needed. Also the villa comes with a driver Gede, please ride with him! He know all the best spots in the area. I will definitely be back 🫶🏾

Vi følte os rigtig godt tilpas. Vores vært, Nyos, og temaet var enormt venlige og serverede dejlig mad på den måde, vi aftalte. Lette at tale med og hjælpsomme med anbefalinger mv. Det var fremragende afstemt i forhold til at føle os serviceret med ting, vi havde brug for, men samtidig med plads til privatliv og ro. Det gav plads til afslapning og tryghed. De havde også straks kontakt til en chauffør, som altid leverede til tiden og gav os en fantastisk dag som lokal guide. Mange tak!! Vores bedste anbefaling. Vores børn var også meget begejstrede for stemningen, udsigten, poolen, maden og de dejlige mennesker på stedet. Mange tak for et fantastisk værtskab af et dejligt og venligt team.

My friends and I had the absolute BEST time staying at this villa. Not only does the villa look exactly like the photos but the staff was second to none. They were helpful, attentive and incredibly kind. The villa is very secluded and felt like our own private oasis. Because you are quite set back in the jungle, you’ll hear lots of birds in the morning and frogs chatting at night. We were nervous about bugs but didn’t find any issues as long as you closed the villa doors before night falls. The food was EXCEPTIONAL. I highly recommend doing the BBQ by the pool.. it was 10/10!! You are allowed to bring your own liquor and snacks (they provide beer, wine, filtered ice and soft drinks). I can’t recommend this place enough. If you are on the fence about booking this place, just do it! You will be happy you did!!!

From the photos, we kind of knew what to expect, but we were still absolutely gob smacked by the beauty of this property. We loved the views…we loved the light-flooded, naturalistic bathrooms…we loved the beds…we loved all the creature comforts like powerful fans and A/C and ample power ports everywhere. We couldn’t get enough of was the balcony views, the pool deck vibe and the pool itself. This is serenity defined. As everyone has said, spectacular Villa Kalisha’s most notable feature is the warm and wonderful people who take such amazing care of their guests. From moment one, Nyos, Made, Wayan and Wayan made us feel very comfortable. Alfresco breakfasts and lunches were fresh, delicious and so easy. Conversation flowed freely and we learned a little about Bali. Our driver, Jana, was a HUGE asset. Every aspect of this trip went picture perfect - great communication from start to finish. So happy that we chose Villa Kalisha for this trip.

This was an amazing villa. Most unique place immersed in the jungle. When everywhere else in Ubud was hot, there was always a cool breeze here. It felt like a different world compared to the rest of the city. The surroundings were a vision, dream like. The inside decorations were also very authentic and every detail was thought out. The balcony on the upper floor was almost better than the terrace next to the pool. The bathrooms were especially fun; you felt like showering in the middle of the forest. Unique experience! Every single one of the staff was kind, approachable and positive. But the driver Gede was our luck; he served also as a guide. Provided us with local information, took us to the best stops and offered the best alternatives. Very resourceful and respectful. The food at the villa was not bad but we preferred to eat outside most of the time. Welcome to actual paradise! The moment we checked in all our cares drifted away with the sounds of the jungle. It rained for most of our stay but it really didn’t matter we still swam and enjoyed the captivating scenery. We were looked after so well by the amazing team Nyos, Made, Wayan and Wayan. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel so at home. The food was fresh, delicious and truly traditional and the massage therapist they arranged for us was wonderful too. They also provided a great driver Gede who was funny, kind, and knowledgeable. My bathtub had a fish pond behind it and it became a highlight of my day feeding them in the morning! I would happily die in this place it really was wonderful in every regard. Don’t hesitate to book this absolute gem of a villa. Thank you so much. We will be back ❤️

If you’re looking to be near town, restaurants, people and noise…Do Not Book this place. Villa Kalisha is a peaceful, isolated paradise.

De Villa ligt midden in de jungle en is afgelegen, zo'n 20 mij van Ubud. Vlakbij is een dorpje met voornamelihk Balinese huizen, erg leuk om een keer doorheen te lopen. De villa is prachtig en van alle gemakken voorzien. Het personeel is ontzettend aardig en vervult al je wensen. De chauffeur zorgt ervoor dat je overal heen kunt wanneer je wilt. Hij is altijd beschikbaar. Het is een genot om hier te logeren. Als je geïnteresseerd bent in de cultuur vertellen ze je er alles over en je kunt al je vragen stellen. Wij vonden het een geweldig verblijf en hebben veel geleerd van de Balinese cultuur en bovenal heerlijk gegeten.

Wir waren als Familie drei Nächte in der Villa Kalisha zu Gast. Wir wurden sehr herzlich vom Team der Villa empfangen und sie halfen uns, unser Gepäck zu Villa zu bringen, erklärten und zeigten uns alles.. Die Lage ist ein Traum, der Blick in den Dschungel, Reisfelder unten, so ein schönes, sattes Grün! Das Team war sehr bemüht, uns glücklich und satt zu machen, die Kommunikation war sehr gut, das Essen auch. Wir konnten Wünsche äußern fürs Frühstück und andere Mahlzeiten. 2 der 3 Badezimmer sind halb offen, was einen besonderen Charme hat und eben einen tollen Ausblick erlaubt, für den ein oder anderen mag es vielleicht gewöhnungsbedürftig sein. Wir Erwachsene fanden das toll - Unsere Kinder haben eher das geschlossene Bad genutzt 😀. Mit Nyos und Made haben wir lange Gespräche geführt, sie ins Herz geschlossen. Den empfohlenen Fahrer Wayan empfehlen wir gerne weiter. Er kennt sich super gut aus in der Gegend, hat uns sicher und unterhaltsam immer ans Ziel gebracht. Danke an alle!

Great stay with our two daughters in this paradise-like location. The access to the villa, on a large concrete path through the rice fields is easy, safe and offers a spectacular scenary. Great staff who made everything easy for us.

We had a beautiful stay at Secluded Bali Villa. The setting was tranquil and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed with 2 young kids (3.5 years and a 6 month old). I would say that the property is better suited to couples - probably not with young kids or elderly due to the large flight of stairs. We had a lovely stay though and our boy loved the frogs and fish in the bathroom! The villa food was delicious and they arranged a massage at the property for me too which was lovely. Highly recommend! :)

Esperienza stupenda! La casa era davvero bella, svegliarsi la mattina in mezzo alla foresta è un’esperienza unica! I bagni all’aperto sono molto suggestivi. Il team è stato fantastico, ci hanno preparato delle cene deliziose e sono stati molto accoglienti! Super super consigliata

La villa è un paradiso immerso nella giungla. Il personale di servizio fa la differenza, molto cortesi e disponibili. Made è una cuoca fantastica che ci ha preparato dei piatti buonissimi e anche belli da vedere. Nyos è sempre disponibile, ma anche gli altri sono stati gentilissimi. Sì è totalmente distanti dalla confusione di Ubud. Il solo rumore che si sente è quelle delle cicale e delle rane… descriverlo non basta, è un posto da provare

Thank you to Nyos, Made, Wayan and Wayan. We had the most relaxing stay in this beautiful villa. The views from the villa are beautiful, but the warmth of the staff makes this Villa extra special. We enjoyed many of Made and the teams meals, including suckling pig and a Bbq by the pool - but their mie goreng was the best I had in Bali and my favourite! A massive special thanks to the driver that Nyos organised for our time in Ubud - Gada. He made our trip - his English was excellent and so we had fantastic chats about our respective lives as we drove around to the various sites and activities he organised. He was friendly, considerate and funny - we loved him. Thanks to all of the team, we loved every minute of our stay.

Tout était réellement parfait, l’accueil, l’hygiène située en pleine jungle, les enfants ont apprécié le bac à poisson et grenouille à côté de la baignoire. Merci aux personnels de maison pour leur bienveillance et leurs recommandations. Nous avons vraiment passé un merveilleux séjour.

Nyos and his team are amazing. Location is beautiful. The views are amazing. It feels like you were in the middle of a treehouse mansion. However, if you do not like bugs and insects , this is not the place for you. You need to keep in mind that you are in the middle of a jungle and there are many crawling bugs, flying bugs that come into the house during the day when the doors are open.. otherwise everything was perfect and the service of the team was excellent, they did their best to make sure I was happy.

Unser Aufenthalt in den Secluded Bali Villas war einfach traumhaft! Geplant waren zwei Nächte, doch wir haben auf vier Nächte verlängert, weil alles perfekt war. Die große Villa mit zwei Schlafzimmern war wunderschön, mit einem mächtigen Pool und einem witzigen Badezimmer mit Fischen – eine einzigartige Erfahrung! Die Villa liegt mitten im Dschungel, umgeben von Reisfeldern und tropischer Natur. Schon der Weg dorthin ist ein Erlebnis! Doch das Beste war das herzliche Personal: Nyos (Villa Manager), Made (Butler), Wayan D (Housekeeping) und Wayan S (Security) haben uns das Gefühl gegeben, Teil einer Familie zu sein. Jeden Morgen gab es ein liebevoll zubereitetes Frühstück, und unsere Valentinstags-Überraschung mit Blumen und Babi Guling war einfach unvergesslich! Unser Taxifahrer war der Wahnsinn – er hat uns nicht nur überall hingebracht, sondern uns auch eine spontane Tour zum Wasserfall und zu seiner Kaffeeplantage geschenkt. Es war magisch. Our stay at Villa Kalisha was spectacular! The property and surrounding jungle was nothing short of breathtaking. The walk through the rice field to get to the house was very cool- so glad they did a walkway through to preserve this. What a location- private - it felt like there was nothing but nature for miles. Falling asleep at the villa was like having a jungle sound machine on- so relaxing. The kids loved the pool- a great place to cool off! We were entertained by the various critters and insects- we’d play guess how many geckos each night. Ubud had lots to offer for activity. The staff Nyos, Made, Wayan and Wayan truly spoiled us and made us feel so welcome. They were so attentive but we never felt like we didn’t have privacy. They made the experience all that more special. Thank you for making our family vacation so amazing!

Best place to stay in UBUD!!!! Everything was phenomenal….staff was ready for my arrival. I celebrated my 40th bday here. Nyos and his wife had dinner prepared, room decorated for birthday and even brought a cake out and sung happy birthday. I literally cried….they made me feel apart of their family I will return back with my mom next time Book now I promise you won’t be disappointed

The villa is amazing, it is in the middle of the jungle, not possible to get to villa by car/scooter, you have to take a short walk thru ricefields. The stuff was amazing, helped us with everything we needed even in the middle of the night 🙏🏻

Honestly, my family and I are still lost for words after the holiday we had at this beautiful villa. We have been living in Bali for the last 4 months, and we have travelled to almost every pocket of it, but never have we come across a property as unique as this. This place sits on a cliff overlooking a valley made up of a canopy of trees and rice paddy fields. Trust me- not a single picture in this listing does this properly justice. Trust me- I almost didn’t want to post any review cos we selfishly wanted this property available for us at all times. We loved it so much more because of the wonderful staff this place has. They are the truest representation of the kindness and love displayed by the wonderful native Balinese people. Nyos, Made, Wayan and Wayan- you are the reason why everything felt so much better at this villa for us. Made was like a grandma to our son. This was my second time staying at this Villa. Six years ago for my 29th birthday, I stayed here with a couple of friends and it was so memorable that I decided to come back with my family years later. Nyos, Made and Wayan are incredible kind and gracious. They were just as kind and thoughtful as a remember. Bali was a dream destination my mother had wanted to visit, since her childhood and they made her experience so magical and unforgettable. They truly feel like family and made my second time there staying at this Villa, just as special and unforgettable as the first. The secluded location, beautiful architecture of the home tucked into the forest, accentuating all the surrounding nature and the breathtaking view and infinity pool alone, will keep you mesmerized. Der Aufenthalt war fantastisch. Die Gastfreundschaft und Warmherzigkeit werden wir für immer in Erinnerung haben. Die Villa ist wunderschön und abgelegen, sodass man seine komplette Privatsphäre hat. Fußläufig ist es schwierig Sachen zu erreichen, aber uns wurde ein wundervoller Fahrer empfohlen, der uns überall hingefahren hat und alles gezeigt hat. Auch mit ihm hatten wir eine super Zeit.

Die große Villa liegt versteckt unterhalb von Reisfeldern. Der Ausblick ist fantastisch. Wir haben uns sofort wie im Dschungel gefühlt. Die Villa ist nicht neu, dennoch wunderschön, inspirierend und ein magischer Ort. Die vier Hausangestellten sind sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen ist vorzüglich. Mit Nyos sind wir gemeinsam durch die Reisterrassen spaziert und haben so einen besonderen Zugang zur balinesischen Kultur und Lebensweise erfahren. Die gemeinsamen Gespräche haben wir sehr genossen und uns geholfen diese wunderbare Insel und dessen Bewohner besser zu verstehen. In diesem Haus ist man gut aufgehoben, wenn man Ruhe und Natur sucht, fernab vom Trubel in Ubud.

Highly recommended if you want to spend quality time with loved ones in absolute privacy away from touristy Bali yet with all amenities and convenience exceeding 5-star hotels. Flawless service provided by top notch, English speaking team including onsite manager, chef, cleaning and security staff who provide you with everything you need at your request. First stayed here 22 years ago for our honeymoon when it was called Villa Uma. Had a wonderful stay and promised ourselves to return one day with children. Kept that promise and returned last week with my wife and 21 year old daughter who equally loved this beautiful place. Best surprise was to be reunited with the same site manager and chef (who are a married couple) whom we met two decades ago!

This was a truly incredible experience to end our 3 weeks in Bali. The location was magical and we are so happy we didn’t stay right in town as it was relaxing to start and end our day in the nature settings of the villa. Villa Kalisha isn’t Villa Kalisha without the amazing staff (Nyos, Made and Wayans) that takes care of the home and all the guests. We stayed at this home for 5 days with our 2 young daughters (4 year old and 8 month old baby) and it felt like our private jungle paradise. We barely ate out because Made was able to cook and cater to our family needs and even prepared a special porridge when we weren’t feeling well. The entire staff played with our daughters the entire time and spent quality time teaching them about the Balinese culture and offerings. My daughter ended up leaving in tears because she missed the Aunties and Uncles. Thank you again to Nyos and his team for making us feel so special and taken care of during our stay.

Our stay was extra ordinary! The villa is amazing! It looks exactly like on the pictures. We were truly amazed by the view and everything what came with the villa. The property is set back from the road, with access via a path through a rice field and once inside you feel completely immersed in nature. The beds were comfy and the villa had everything we needed. There was always one of the team at hand to help with anything at all. We ordered breakfast daily - the banana pancakes were fabulous! The villa has some steps and fans instead of aircon so elderly travellers or families with small kids might consider this. It was a magical, secluded retreat for us and would suit people who truly love nature, and are looking for a way to disconnect from busy modern life. Villa Kalisha is a huge private villa that you have to walk through paddy fields to get to. It is very secluded and has beautiful views of a ravine. The staff make you feel right at home, and Nyos, Made, Wayan and Wayan were like family to us. A Christmas tree made of succulents was decorated for our arrival, and it made our Christmas very special. The setting of the villa is spectacular - though as other reviews have suggested, a little tired (e.g. cabinet doors not fitting flush). These are simply cosmetic, as everything was clean. The drivers were excellent, Gede and Wayan, and they were essential in getting around and getting to the location easily. Very responsive to communication and lovely people. I wouldn't advise renting a car, as transportation via the villa is affordable and safe. The pool was refreshing - but isn't heated. We found it comfortable coming from Scotland, but a guest from Dubai found it cold. All in all, a lovely stay.

Es war der absolute Traum… zuerst läuft man durch die Reisfelder und kommt dann in den Dschungel wo plötzlich ein verborgenes Haus auftaucht. Hammer können wir nur sagen. Das Team hat sich rund um die Uhr um uns gekümmert und war Super flexibel/hilfsbereit. Für uns war es etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig mit Leuten wo uns umsorgen. Aber sie waren so freundlich und man fühlt sich sofort Wohl. Das Essen war super authentisch und haben es so genossen.

Great stay for 8 nights at Villa Kalisha. Special thanks for great service for manager Nyos, cook lady Made, cleaning lady Wayan and night manager Wayan. This crew is really doing an outstanding job! Service was top notch. Still condition of villa equipment - namely toilet bowls in two older bathrooms is not satisfactory as these were not actually working ok and needed to be replaced. Also water pressure is very low on the second floor and the newer bathroom is actually unusable as water is just dripping in shower. These issues need to be addressed and needed renovations to be done. Otherwise this is a great place to relax and a good point for planning travel to north of Bali.

Our family stayed at the villa for four nights and it was so peaceful and the staff were so accommodating. It was exactly what we were after to start our holiday in Bali. We had a fresh made breakfast every morning and a driver every day. They were more than happy to organise the activities we wanted to do. Would highly recommend

I travel a lot for work and for leisure and I have to say that this kind of house and location is something really unique. You will be immerse in the most beautiful environment of Bali. You will be pampered by Nyos and his team that will prepare anything for you and assist you in anything you need. This is probably the only case I experienced where the pictures of the house are so beautiful but the house itself is even much better! The spaces are huge and comfortable and the attention of the architectures and the furnitures is taken care in of the smallest details. Thanks to Nyos, Tom and Renè. Couple of useful notes: the place is a bit hidden but Nyos is waiting for you in the middle of the road. Be aware that there is a small road to be walked through and if you are with small kids you need to be ready for it.

The location was magic. The personell was sweet and helpfull. Some of the villas interiour needs an upgrade. You have to be prepared for some bugs because of jeg location near the jungle. We hope that we will come back another time.

Dass die Villa phänomenal gelegen und gestaltet ist, darüber kann man ja genug schon lesen. Durch die Lage im Dschungel ist es immer 3 bis 4 Grad kühler als sonst in der Gegend. Da wir etwas Pech mit dem Wetter und viel Regen hatten, war es dann auch eher frisch, frischer als erwartet. Die Villa ist echt toll, keine Frage. Die ein oder andere kleine Reparatur würde aber nicht schaden. Beispielsweise ist das Dach beim starkem Regen etwas undicht. Dies hat unserer wunderbaren Erfahrung in der Villa keinen Abriss getan.

The villa was exactly what I expected, aside from how utterly private it was. It was enough to only sit and listen to the surroundings to feel rested. You enter the villa walking through rice fields and plantation, which is enough to detach you from the rest of the world. The staff and especially the manager Nyos was incredibly helpful and responsive. We would definitely want to come back here for a “fall off the side of the earth” type of vacation. Cannot say enough good things about this place. The Villa is surrounded by nature and rice fields and it was amazing falling asleep to all the different sounds. (No issues with bugs because the bedroom is enclosed) Everything was very clean, including the pool. The staff, however, was the best part. The manager Nyos was responsive and ready to help with anything you needed. Made and Wayan made the villa feel like home - they even walked us through the local village to the Tegellalang rice terrace. Also, the food they cooked for us was superb. No meal left us hungry. We did not want to leave.

This was our favorite stay yet! the staff was amazing and became family to us. The cooked us an amazing dinner the first night and breakfast every morning. They surprised us with a flower bath. We got massages while we were there and they came to our villa. We had two amazing drivers they took us everywhere. The rooms were very nice minus all the bugs but that’s what you get in the jungle.

Villa Kalisha is a wonderful and relaxing location. We were travelling with 2 families and 4 kids aged between 1-11, the staff at the villa were lovely and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. We all had a wonderful time and just wish we could have stayed longer!

Villa Kalisha was an absolute dream. Waking up every morning felt like a dream - words honestly cannot describe how magical the villa was. The staff were all so lovely, helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend booking this place!

Super friendly staff. They stay in the property (not the same building). Helped us with luggages and cleaning every day. They cooked us food at home per our special request. Property view was gorgeous. One in a life time experience. Neighborhood is also great among the rice fields. The only issue was the exposure of the property to animals. Bathrooms of both rooms are exposed to outside so animals can easily come in to the bathroom and inside the rooms. We have seen animals like lizards and gecko inside the room and in the washroom. We have also seen frogs in the bathroom. If you are ok with being exposed to these animals, then you are good. But if you or one of your travel-mates is not ok with this then this property is not the best option for you. Also, there is a 5 minute walk from the entrance of the property to the villa and you need to walk on a sidewalk through a rice field. We have seen a green snake on the way to the villa. So watch out!

We had such a relaxing time at the secluded villa. There is a cute path through the paddy fields that led us to the tranquil villa nested on the cliff overlooking the jungle. It feels like a bit of adventure before we reached the gate and welcomed by the hosts. The villa is so beautiful and dream like. We enjoyed our stay surrounded by such pristine nature all around us. My sister really enjoyed her bath times when feeding the gold fishes in the bathroom pond. The breakfast that Made cooked are yum and a great way to start the day. We would love to visit again soon 🥰

La carte postale balinaise comme on l'imagine, mais en mieux!!... très joliment meublée, piscine très agréable, sous les cocotiers, tout est plus que parfait! la douche du matin en pleine jungle, c'est assez irréel... Mais au delà de tout ça, ce qui est encore plus incroyable, ce sont Nyos et Made, le couple en charge de vous accueillir et de s'occuper de vous pendant le séjour! Des gens formidables aux petits soins, toujours à l'écoute de vos besoins (cuisine, driver, massages, etc) : tout est possible, tout le temps! Et ce sont d'excellents cuisiniers, cest meilleur ici qu'au restaurant ! En résumé, un lieu magnifique, un peu reculé, (mais c'est tellement bon) et des gens formidables pour s'occuper de vous... un must. Merci encore pour ce séjour idyllique

We had an amazing four days at Villa Kalisha and the host couple Made and Nyos -together with our driver W made our stay so convenient and gave us the absolutely heartfelt end to an amazing three week long holiday. The villa is absolutely amazing with stunning views over the jungle. The staff members are adorable, caring and cook delicious Indonesian food. The whole experience was magical, we only wished we could have stayed longer! A huge thank you again!

What a special piece of paradise. Truly secluded with brilliant views, spacious and well appointed accommodations, delicious food, and warm staff (who make the Villa Kalisha experience extra special). The in-house menu is very reasonably priced and offers many options - all of which, Wayan prepares wonderfully and Made serves with smiles! The food was the icing on the cake for this unique stay.

We were 15 minutes away from town. The driver, Wayan, was amazing and was a built in tour guide. Had massages everyday and had a wonderful home cooked meal. If you are looking for staying in the heart of Bali and the jungle, this IS the place to stay! It was beyond what we could imagine and the scenery was incredible. Some bugs because of the jungle, but they spray for them multiple times a day. It was absolutely breath taking and cannot wait to stay with them again!

This is an unforgettable little slice of paradise. The walk through the rice fields to get to the house is really beautiful, and the way the house overlooks the valley is awesome. We adored the upstairs bathroom with its amazing lush view, so relaxing! The temperature up here is just a little cooler which makes it very comfortable, even without air conditioning. Best part is the staff though! They are all very kind and genuinely lovely people, and they took great care of us. We had the barbecue the last night there and man those ribs and chicken were outstanding!! Mahalo to the staff and we would definitely recommend this place, especially for groups or families the staff would take great care of you.

The place is great! Warm welcoming staff who really try their best to make sure you have a great time. The views are great and the walk into the villa is a once in a life time experience if you’re from the city like we were. The POOL and the open air showers probably my favorite features. The staff does such a great job maintaining everything! And they appreciate a tip at the end of the stay for all of their service. Understand that you are at the edge of the jungle and while that brings amazing views and peace and quiet it also brings lots of nature sounds which are cool If that’s the kind of experience you’re going for. It also brings lots of bugs. The staff does their best to help with that it’s just a part of the full secluded experience so embrace it. My friend is already talking about when we’re coming back! This is totally private villa in the paradise of jungle, a real hideway with the sounds of jungles. Bathrooms and master bedroom with spectacular views, stylish authentic furniture. People that work here are the the most helpful and friendly staff we have ever met, they were looking after our kids, were preparing delicious home food for us and even went on the guided jungle and rice terraces tour with us. Would like to come back here one day. Just an amazing experience!!!

A very special unique villa in the middle of the nature. Beautiful and peaceful.

This place is amazing! If you are coming to Bali with family or a few friends, do yourself a favor and book this place. They can arrange for a driver to pick you up from the airport and utilize that driver through your trip. Once you arrive to the villa, staff will be awaiting for you, walk through rice fields to reach this Villa as it is secluded in the jungle. The Villa has wonderful views and amenities; however, it's the outstanding staff ( Nyos, Made and Wayan) that make this place special. The Villa is quite special but the staff makes it extra special! They are there to greet you & carry your luggage when you arrive. They can make all your meals, do your laundry or babysit (all extra). You will have no worries while staying here and seriously miss this magical place when you have to leave!

Villa Kalisha is a great place to stay, a little of from the crowdy Ubud you have your own little paradise in the middle of rice fields and the jungle. We enjoyed just sitting on the terrace or cooling down in the pool. There are nice trips in the rice fields we did with Nyos, a little different from the crowdy tourist spots. The whole staff was super kind and had an open ear for all wishes. They made our stay even better!! It is though about 30 minutes by car to Ubud which is kinda far but the atmosphere at the Villa totally lets you forget about that! Just one word for that place - Amazing.

Great villa, the staff made us feel welcome and were very accommodating e.g. helping us find transport and organising meals. The villa is a little hard to find but it's worth the extra work searching!

Right now we are feeling awful because we are leaving this paradise. There are no words to describe how beautiful this house is, the staff who work here are the loveliest people and they took such a good care of us. The food was excellent, the view even better. We will cry all the way home because we can’t stay longer.

We stayed in the villa for 7 days and loved everything! The property is beautiful with amazing views. The staff Nyos, Made, and Wayan were incredible! They were extremely attentive and helped us with anything we needed. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay extra special. I discovered a love for a local fruit and after I shared my love for the fruit Made would have some ready for me each morning. My boyfriend had an upset stomach and Nyos and Made over heard our conversation and made him a drink to help with his stomach. A few hours later his upset stomach was gone. They helped us find a taxi at a very unexpected time in the evening. His name is Doug. We loved him so much we asked him to show us around the entire week. I highly recommend for you to ask Nyos and Made for Doug’s information if you’re in need of a taxi driver during your stay. Thank you for making our stay an unforgettable experience. We loved the villa, we loved the staff, we loved our driver, and we have discovered a real love for Bali.

Beautiful home in Ubud! You walk through the rice fields to enter this amazing property. It felt so surreal. Waking up to birds chirping every morning and amazing food. I was a little apprehensive coming to this villa having had a poor experience in the airbnb i stayed at before but i was blown away! The house is in an outstanding setting and is extremely stylish. Looks much better than on the photos. Service is exceptional too. Thank you Nyos, Made and Wayan. We are now thinking of coming back soon.

Can’t fully express how wonderful this villa is. The view is amazing and is so secluded and relaxing. The real stars however are the staff. Nyos, Made, Wayan and Dougie were there for anything and everything we needed the minute we arrived to the second we left. Highly recommend using their driver Dougie for any and every excursion you do. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and has made friends all across the island. The food at the villa was also amazing! Could not get enough of the Nasi Goreng (a must try). If you’re on the fence, don’t be, this place is above and beyond in every way.

It’s an amazing house, very quiet surrounding in the forest. You can never expect a much better natural leisure in another places. We spent the very good time with our kids and families here, no doubt we will recommend to our friends, and hopefully come again in the future!

Honestly, the place was much much better than the photos. The place is located in a breathtaking spot which amazed all the family members. I had to cancel two days of activities and decided to just stay in this amazing Villa, relax and enjoy my time. All the staff were beyond excellent, helpful and very friendly. Thanks to them all and I will be recommending the place to too many people.

Uns hat alles super gefallen. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Auf unseren Wunsch haben sie für uns frisch gekocht und das Essen war immer lecker. Der Manager hat uns auch einen Fahrer organisiert und uns Tipps gegeben für Ausflüge , da dies unser erstes Mal auf Bali war. Die Lage ist perfekt, mitten im Dschungel gelegen und trotzdem nicht zu abgelegen, da man nur ein paar Minuten mit dem Auto zu den berühmten Reisterrasse braucht . Wir würden die Villa auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen vor allem ,da die Mitarbeiter uns das Gefühl gegeben haben zu Hause zu sein.

Great location for a nice scheduled holiday

Everything from our pickup to checkout went seamlessly! This trip to Bali was for our honeymoon and it was an experience we will never forget! Dougie picked us up from DPE airport which is almost an hour away from this beautiful, secluded jungle paradise. Was originally going to book day tours through Airbnb, but found out Dougie did the same! He took us on 3 customized full day trips all around Bali - all at our pace. He patiently waited for us at every attraction and was easily contacted through WhatsApp. He knew every place and restaurant we wanted to go to like the back of his hand, no GPS needed at all! Definitely impressed by his expertise. He also knew all the best places to exchange money with the best rate, which we gladly appreciated! The hosts at the villa, Nyos, Made, and Wayan simply were the best! They handled all of our requests for in villa massages, pedicure, laundry runs, breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. MIE GORENG WITH BACON OMG I LITERALLY HAD THIS EVERY MORNING!! So good!! The fruits also were so fresh and beautifully prepared, we took pictures of all of our breakfast lunch and dinner setups. They waited on us hand and foot and we definitely are grateful. Seriously the most humble and happy people we have ever met! My husband and I felt like a king and queen staying here. The villa is somewhat secluded, but we always felt safe because there was always security at the front during the night. There were times when we would arrive to the villa late at night after day long excursions and all of them + security would be there to wait for us to make sure we arrived safely. The hosts definitely felt like family and even asked us to come back soon.. with a baby! Haha The views of this villa and all its surroundings is just.. no words. Jungle palace with lush everything!!! Definitely screensaver worthy!!! Dougie dropped us off and we had to walk about 2 minutes to the entrance of a villa. You have to walk along a narrow walkway through rice fields to get to the villa which was beautiful. The entrance steps down also has koi ponds to the left and everything was just green green green! The infinity pool definitely had a few photoshoots while we were staying here. The pool water is cold, but once the sun hits the pool during the day it is definitely manageable. I would recommend bringing pool loungers if you like that kind of thing, but be careful near the infinity edge! Note that 2 of the bathrooms are half inside/half jungle. There is also a private one on the 2nd floor if you prefer less bugs and critters. The 1st floor bathroom has a freaking koi pond in the bathroom! The half jungle bathroom on the 2nd floor had a flower bath upon arrival, didn’t even need to go to a spa for that! The bathrooms also had hand soap, shampoo/conditioner, and shower gel! I had brought a little dispenser of hand soap since most Airbnbs I’ve booked never had any - and I wash my hands every chance I get! So that was a nice detail. They also had wifi so definitely used that during our stay and we were able to stream Netflix and Youtube during our lazy days at the villa. The bed was comfy and even had a mosquito net around it to keep them away at night. Another detail that was super helpful was they had a USB charger and power board next to the bed to charge our cameras, iPhones, and Apple Watches. However, bring plug adapters! We bought ours for cheap on Amazon. The views waking up every morning we’re just spectacular. Look to the left - mini balcony for some sunrise yoga and lush jungle. Look to the right - another balcony overlooking the pool and even more lush jungle. Definitely IG worthy pictures and videos! We’re both very sad leaving this heavenly villa. Please don’t hesitate in booking this Airbnb - you won’t regret it. We will definitely need to come back and fulfill their wish ;)

This was truly an unforgettable stay. If you are looking for an authentic Ubud experience then you must stay at this Airbnb. The views were absolutely breathtaking. The house is in a secluded location surrounded by greenery, for a peaceful and private experience. The staff were exceptional, making us feel at home and taking care of our every need with ease and efficiency. They arranged massages, yoga, and transportation, etc. The food was amazing. WOW! This unique villa is something else. Our family had the most spectacular holiday here and we hope to visit again in the future. The staff were extremely respectful, helpful and kind as they met our every need during our stay. There are the most gorgeous panoramas of nature from every bedroom. We loved the indoor/outdoor feel as though you’re in a luxurious treehouse in the jungle with floor to ceiling windows. Ubud has so much beauty to offer and the pictures definitely can not do justice to the majestic views that you experience while at this villa. The internet was speedy, the staff kept the space tidy and having massage therapists come daily was a real treat. We had a really wonderful stay at Villa Kalisha! The setting is private and is beyond beautiful- it is amazing to wake up to the sounds of the jungle and to enjoy your morning coffee and meals on the terrace with the jungle right there. Each meal was delicious and prepared exactly as we’d asked, and the staff was so accommodating when we asked for extra services like laundry and massages. Everything about our stay here was easy, enjoyable, and affordable. We can also highly recommend the villa’s driver, Wayan- we only had about a week in Bali and packed as much as we could into our short time and he was always ready to take us wherever we asked with a smile. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

According to my friends, their stay at the villa was amazing. The staff at the villa accommodated to their needs as best as possible, and took them all around Ubud - to the point that they want to be back as soon as possible to explore more. The hosts, Rene and Tom were great, and fast at responding with answers to any queries presented to them. I only wish I was able to go and experience this all first hand!

Worth to see and experience this beautiful villa. Especially at night, sleeping through voices from jungle is amazing. Cool and friendly staff. Only negative point is about location but you cant get this experience while being next to city.

The villa was stunning and the staff were spectacular. The villa is nicely secluded in the forest with rice paddies surrounding the front and back of the villa. The staff truly catered to our every need and made us feel right at home. I strongly recommend staying at this villa and we plan to stay here next time we are in Ubud!

The place is AMAZING. The pictures don't do it justice. It's peaceful, it's beautiful, the pool is amazing, the view, the outdoor bathroom is awesome, everything is just great; you just don't want to leave. The staff was great, Doug is one of a kind :). Bugs are everywhere but you are literally in the middle of the jungle so that's expected. Highly recommended.

Отлично подойдет для отдыха двум парам или семье с детьми. У нас дети 3 и 6 лет. В принципе, все довольно комфортно, но за детьми приходилось поглядывать. Очень хотелось остаться и никуда не уезжать!

Private villa hidden in the green, first time seeing fireflies at the night. Open bathroom in nature, make our stay in the hill so special. Cannot recommend highly enough. Amazing quiet villa in forests and crops. The housekeeper team especially Nyos is warm-hearted and very nice. We enjoy our time very much.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Kalisha. It was quiet and secluded and we felt entirely at home and at ease thanks to the wonderful staff (Nyos, Made and Wayan). Though the villa is a way outside of central Ubud, the team arrange very reliable and friendly transportation on short notice. We loved the quasi-open air bathrooms, the immediacy of nature and the comfort provided in and around the villa. There were all sorts of nooks and crannies with comfortable spots to rest and get away to read or think in peace. The renovation of the pool deck and other parts of the house done in October is fantastic (not that I know what was there before - but I can attest to it being beautifully done and feeling safe). We were a family of 5 (kids aged 11, 7 and 4) and the villa easily accommodated us all (kids in separate beds if desired). The food was wonderful - we ate most of our meals there. Loved it and every member of our family hopes to return again.

One year ago I booked this villa with friends where we had enjoyed every moment of it. This time I came to the same villa for my honeymoon. It worth it.

Staying in this house for 2 nights was a major highlight of our month away in Bali and Lombok. It is literally jaw dropping and our family were actually speechless when we arrived. But what also makes this such a special experience are the staff that work here. Nyos, Wayan and Made are wonderful, from the moment we arrived and all through our trip they looked after us with great gentleness and interest and we really appreciated being taken by Nyos for a walk across the rice fields and learning as much as we could from him about his Bali. The local village was also very interesting for us...a small version of what Ubud must have been like before all the tourists arrived. It is spectacularly beautiful here. Arriving at Villa Kalisha was like being taken into a secret world - the glamorous hidden house reached across a path through a rice field with an amazing view of the jungle and sharing the beautiful spirit of the team that work there. Thank you!

The location and view is just spectacular, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved the walk through the rice fields with Nyosh, the manager. It's also a great start and return point to visit all the not-to-be-missed places in Ubud and area.

Enjoyed every minite of our stay with Villa Kalisha. The villa is in a gorgeous place surrounded by such lush greenery and padi fields around. Wow factor! Villa Kalisha was a lovely retreat away from the hustle and bustle of central Ubud. Stunning jungle views and a peaceful location. The villa is a 20 minute drive from Ubud but the location was not a problem as the staff were happy to organise drivers when we needed them and poolside massages at the villa. The staff, Made, Wayan and Nyos, were very welcoming and warm and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We were were travelling in a family group and they were especially good with our 6 month old nephew. But for a few minor details, the villa would be flawless. The few minor details: the water pressure is weak and we ran out of hot water once. The pool is a bit on the cold side so you have to gather courage to jump in. The open bathrooms are spectacular but, as noted on the website, do attract the odd bug/lizard. Overall though, loved it!

First off, I would like to thank Made, Nyos & the rest of the staff for making our experience a memorable one. The staff is kind and attentive. They make you feel right at home. Our driver Wayan was the best.. He gave us insight on what it's really like to live in Bali. We loved the villa, it's a safe & private place. Thank you!

Fantastic experience ! We enjoyed a lot our 3 nights stay in Villa Kalisha. The staff is more than welcoming and makes you feel so relaxed. The view on the jungle and the rice field is gorgeous, the pool is a must, overall everything is awesome. The villa is really close by the Tegalalang rice field terrace, and 20 minute away from Ubud. Absolutely recommended.

Wonderful expérience , cosy house

All I can say is 'Wow'! The villa is exactly as described - plus we had our own personal rainforest. The staff made our stay very memorable with the rice fields walk with Nyos and the amazing BBQ dinner. Highly recommend this villa.

Words can not explain how beatififul this villa is. It was so relaxing, away from the hussle and bussle - it was our own private oasis.. Loved relaxing in the pool.. The rooms were gorgeous. The staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble.. We had dinner in the villa cooked by the staff.. Spring rolls and chicken satay - one of the best meals I have had in Bali.. And gotta say he breakfast was so good too. Highly recommend the banana pancakes and omelette (my hubby said best omelette he has ever had). The bread is fresh from the local market and they even had vegemite!! much to my delight. The only thing that was disappointing is that we only had one night there. But that just means we will be back. Thanks so much for having us x

We had the most unforgettable 3 nights at Villa Kalisha. What a beautiful property. So glad that we chose to make a stop in Ubud before heading to Candidasa. We learned so much about Balinese culture from our drives around the nearby villages with Dougy (Wayan). He is such a memorable person from our time there. He had us laughing so hard and we are still reminiscing about our stories and time with him. Best driver ever. The staff was perfect. Such welcoming; smiling faces to start and end the days. :) They were so open to educating us on their culture and we enjoyed getting to know about their families and lives outside the villa. The food at the villa was delicious! Such a treat to look forward to every morning. We had dinner there as well and it too was great! Can't beat the dinner view and nature sounds from the villa. The sounds are one of a kind. The bathrooms, gorgeous. It took some getting used to showering with the wildlife; but what an experience! Enjoyed days in and around the pool; evenings spotting lizards, bats, lightening bugs; etc out on the patio. Hope to be able to visit again some day! One of a kind perfection!

The place was more scenic that shown in the pictures. Nyos had given us a grand welcome followed by fresh juice. The staff can arrange what ever you ask. They are so polite and so co-operative. I am glad that i stayed in Villa Kalisha and feeling sad that I had to stay only one day. Its more of a place where you need at least 3-4 days stay to enjoy the complete beauty surrounding the villa

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Kalisha. As its secluded from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas, it was refreshing to come home to some serenity and sounds of nature. The hospitality was exceptional. The staff - Wayan, Made and Nois responded to our needs and made us feel at home. Highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful house. We were between 4-6 people during our stay and space was never a problem. It was really cool upon arrival. The staff met us on the street and then we had a three minute walk on a path through some rice fields until we reached our oasis. We were completely private in the jungle and had the most wonderful and social people there who attended our every need. Cooking food upon request, restocking Bin tangs or ordering massage. They were also guiding us around to see the surrounding rice fields and temples. We rented mopeds and it was a fun 20 minute ride to Ubud or a 40 minute ride to reach spectacular mountain views and the volcanoes. We went out for dinner a couple of nights and the staff set us up with a driver so we never had to deal with taxis. This is a perfect stay if you want to combine relaxation with sightseeing. I would definitely come back.

Great house, love it so much, we will definitely come back again. Very friendly house keepers who will organize everything for you. The only thing that was bit annoyed was there were so many fly ants after rain,they were every where in the house, but I understand we are in the middle of the forest, so this is usual.other than that, I like the house very much, it is the best house I've ever lived.

This place was incredible!! I don't even know where to begin. From the booking to the very last day... Everyone was so helpful! We're visiting from America & don't have international plans so email was the only way to go. Tom & Rene both responded to every question I had in such a timely manner. Once we got to Ubud, We hired a driver from the Ubud center & when he couldn't find the place (it's in total seclusion) Nyos came to find us with his scooter & directed us where to go. Upon arrival, the staff grabbed our bags & led the way. As soon as we settled in, they brought us fresh juice & cold washcloths. Such a nice gesture! We felt right at home! Being that we were here for Thanksgiving, they helped us cook a traditional American meal & added some Balinese food to go along. Which by the way, the food was AMAZING! I'm super picky & this was best food I've had since we've been in Bali!! All around, the place was stunning, the staff was incredible, & we highly enjoyed our time here! We were quite sad to leave but there's a big island to explore. Thank you so much everyone at Villa Kalisha!

Amazing place, perfect service. I've seen hundreds of properties around the world, this place is very high quality. Just go there, don't ask why!

The villa was better than the pictures and the staffs were really helpful! Before the trip, Rene was helpful with our queries and even provided us with extremely detailed directios to make our way to the villa on our own. We hired our own driver and the staff rode out to pick our driver to direct our driver into the villa. Wayan and Made were very hospitable and made our stay very pleasant. The villa is in the midst of nature hence insects and mosquitoes are inevitable. However, when we return for the night, Wayan and Made has closed the doors, drew the curtains and place the mosquito net for the bed down to prevent insects from coming in. It's definitely a 5 star villa with 6 star service. Will definitely check out Rene's other villa the next time we're back in Bali.

We had the most agreeable welcome from Nyos, Made and the team. Wayan came to Ubud to collect us as our boat company would only stop in the centre of Ubud, which is a 20-25 minute drive away from the villa. Arriving at the villa is a great experience, we were greeted with cold towels by the pool and a refreshing drink. The entire stay was pure luxury, the staff were always on hand though not intrusive. Although we never felt entirely 'alone' at the villa as there was always someone there, we had a relaxing and peaceful time. Security and service are clearly of upmost importance to the team, there was always someone on hand to greet us when we arrived back at the villa, as we were not given a key. We enjoyed the cereal and eggs for breakfast every day, the cook (sorry i don't recall her name) was absolutely amazing, she cooked, on demand, lunch and dinner and i think we tried all of the dishes! Nyos and Made invited us to attend a ceremony at their local temple and we felt immersed in the culture which was fantastic. A genuine experience we will never forget. The pool is great but it was quite cloudy and the temperature wasn't really high enough for us to swim in the pool daily, though it was always clean and the sun loungers and towels replaced daily. Communication with the staff was easy, though a mobile provided by the villa would have been nice in order to cut down our bill as we did need to speak to the staff quite often. All in all a fantastic time here and the staff really made it, the views are to die for, the nature and animals around the villa are really interesting to see (including some interesting frogs and insects we met in the bathroom/bedroom) which we didn't mind at all. What a fantastic villa.

I spent two nights in the villa kalisha with my two best friends, Just for getting few days out of the noisy city. We have chosen to pick a villa in that area of bali so we went through the offers in Airbnb website and read the reviews of most of them. This villa have the advantage of proper photo shoots. I was not at all disappointed, the place is exactly as shown in pictures and the staff have a magic power of making you feel welcome or in another word they makes you feel you own the place. In short words This place exceeded our expectations. I would surly recommend this place to everyone.

We had a wonderful stay and were very well taken care of by the staff. It is a beautiful villa set in surroundings perfect for a relaxing, tranquil retreat. The photos on the listing do not do it justice. As city folk, we'd suggest that if you are like us, be mentally prepared for the local creatures like the geckos that come out at night! Also, the water supply seemed limited on the upper floor - I found myself soaped up with no water to rinse off more than once. This was easily overcome by taking quick, water-conserving showers which is afterall, better for the environment :) Overall, I wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely want to stay again.

The most perfect experience ever... If I was here for my honeymoon I would think I was taken to the best place in the world! Everything was perfect! The staff were amazing and all of the tiny details make the experience a magical one which me and my family will never forget. Looking at the pictures you think that it can't possibly be that beautiful, but no, it actually is! I would love to return to this villa one day... I have already recommended it to others and I haven't even left the island yet! Pure perfection! I don't even want to write about all the little things which made it so perfect because I don't want to spoil someone else's surprise when they have it for themselves. Just the best!

Hi Tom and Rene, and especially the staff: Made, Wayan and Nyos We had a great stay in your villa. It all started with a walk of 10 minutes through the rice paddies reaching the villa which was out of sight from the road. What a wonderful surprise to then arrive at the villa overlooking a valley with the rice fields. The staff was great and provided all the services that we expected from them and also respected our privacy. In addition, I like to applaud for their hospitality and super-friendliness which was displayed by below: Wayan and Made invited us also to the full moon ceremony to their temple. We felt honored and Made even provided us the sarongs but also the super festive tops that would go with such a ceremony for myself and the 2 little girls. It was very special. Our girls had a great time playing with their daughters too. Nyos and Made shared us stories of themselves and of the Bali culture, they were also very interested to hear stories from the Netherlands where we are from. All in all a great stay in a nice villa with super nice people. The villa is as described in the Airbnb description.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this Villa. It actually ruined me for my following accommodations because I got spoiled here. The master bathroom view, the rice paddie entrance, the full time staff, their delicious cooking... I already miss this place. All the reviews are correct, this place is all that and a bag of chips.

Villa kalisha was amazing. One of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. It was magical right from the start with the walk through the rice paddies. The staff were also absolutely wonderful. They were caring & attentive (especially with our children), but also gave us space. We didn't want to leave. Thank you so much!!!!

I'm afraid my feedback won't do justice to Villa Kalisha's splendor: The location is amazing amid jungle and rice paddies; the villa is designed to integrate the splendid outdoor view and area into the interior through its half-open bathrooms, giving you a sense that you're bathing in the middle of the lush rain forest, and through the big windows looking out over the eternity pool fringed by the tops of palm trees. The staff is wonderful and pays great attention to detail (fresh flowers in the bathrooms, lighting candles outside every night etc). The home-cooked meals were excellent; we (a party of four) warmly recommend anyone to try the barbecue (we had pork ribs and chicken; all meat comes with pleasant sides -order one day in advance). The hospitality went beyond the villa's staff: Dougie, the driver affiliated with the Kalisha team spoke good English and was much more than a driver; he's a very warm and interesting person who noticeably cared about making our day-trip around Ubud as entertaining and smooth as he could. We stayed on four locations on Bali all in the same price range, and they were all wonderful but Villa Kalisha was undoubtedly the most memorable one. A once in a lifetime experience, although I am definitely looking forward to staying here again.

Villa Kalisha was the highlight of my stay in Ubud. It was amazing to be so immersed in nature, in such a beautiful house with such wonderful caring people to look after us. Made, Wayan, Nyos and Doug took care of us so well and we had some fabulous home-cooked meals at the villa too. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Just superb!

An ideal getaway in Bali. The place is simply gorgeous, inside the jungles. You wake up in the morning with the sounds of nature, stunning view opens to your eyes. I was in love with the architecture of the house, and top to floor window walls. All relaxed setting of villa is just a synonyms for the feeling of harmony and peace. Only regret is that we stayed there for very short period of time. My number one recommendation for relaxed and private stay in Bali. Thank you Tom and Rene)

Villa Kalisha is really outstanding! It is luxurious with a household staff fussing. The setting is idyllic, at the foot of a cliff in the forest, you can hear the sounds of nature to rest. I encourage you to spend a few days in this wonderful magical villa.

Villa Kalisha is amazing! Everyone there was incredibly accommodating and very helpful; the house itself is beautiful and set in an incredible, lush jungle with rice paddies below. Everything was better than we expected, and we would definitely stay there again!

Tom's villa is amazing. Not only it is far from noise, it is actually completely surrounded with nature. The only sound you can hear is nature sound. The morning mist, insects crawling on trees, dry leaves falling from trees, rice pads not far below, amazing outdoor oriented decor. I enjoyed every minute staying at the villa. The bathrooms reminds me of Maldives resorts. Services from the service team was excellent. I could not ask for a better experience in Ubud.

Great place , very private , friendly and helpful staff, Tom was very accommodating . I highly recomand the place For a peaceful holiday away from the daily hustle.
